This episode of the award-winning magazine TV show, KMJS, entitled "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho: Be careful who you bully!" features inspiring experiences of different people overcoming their struggles with bullying because of their flaws and imperfections. They sought efficient solutions to deal with their insecurities not only to defy the stereotypes and stigmas brought by the society but also for the reason that they wanted to gain back their confidence and self-esteem.
I, myself, can relate deeply to this segment of KMJS because I also experienced being bullied firsthand. It all started when I was in elementary, I noticed there was little red bumps appearing on my forehead. I didn't bother to think much of it at first, but it annoyed me more later on because it won't go away. This dilemma went on for days until I showed it to my mother and she said that I was having an acne breakout. She said that it was nothing to worry about as I am about to face my teenage stage. It wasn't really a problem to me at first until my classmates poked fun on me because of it. They teased me of not being 'makinis' and they childishly laugh doing it. This situation went on when I entered Junior High School. Just like any kid my age, I didn't picture out High School to be all nice and fun. I expected anything bad that may come my way. And I wasn't wrong. Though I made friends along the way, I didn't escape being made fun of because of my flaws. My skin situation got worse, and so was the bullying. I was being called names like 'durian' and some even compared me to an ice cream flavor. I felt really hurt being laughed at whenever someone makes a joke about what I was going through without knowing what it was really like being in my situation. There were times when the mocking was too much to handle so I just end up goint to the restroom and cry out all of it. It was really exhausting to be the subject of ridicule for something I didn't choose to have. Until one day, I decided to get a consultation with a dermatologist and they explained that it was all normal considering I am at my puberty stage and is just facing gradual changes with my body. They also educated me about its causes and prescribed me my medications. Thankfully, my skin condition had gone better and still on the process of improvement.
After going through these, I have realized that having imperfections is not a reason to be down and lose our self-esteem but rather see it as a reason to love ourselves more because they are signs that we are just humans, who in any way, aren't perfect. We have our flaws and differences that make us unique among everyone else. I have learned that self-love is indeed very important for us to achieve the personal growth that we want to have. We should find it in us to be more compassionate and kind to ourselves and embrace things the way they are.
Upon watching this segment, It had a great impact on me personally. In a way, I think that this episode is a great way to spread awareness on the certain issues like bullying and body shaming and to also inspire people who are struggling with these. As for myself, it showed me that there other people going through these struggles and that I am not the only one fighting this battle. The featured individuals didn't back down on conquering the obstacles being given by life and continued believing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, my greatest takeaway in this is to remain undaunted no matter how hard the circumstance is and we should be the greatest believer of ourselves.
"A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections." – Confucius

I would very much recommend everyone to watch this cover of "Ang Pipit" by Levi Celerio. This is for the reason that I was amused by how it was produced. The creators gave it a new style which is kind of refreshing to hear and see that is different from its original tone and melody. I also liked how they introduced and put the details about the 'Pipit'. They also gave Levi Celerio his deserved recognition by giving us the information about his works and achievements in life as a singer and composer. Lastly, the meaning and strong message behind the song was also explained in the video and I think that it is essential especially for the newer generation to further understand it in a comprehensive way.

Martial Law "Disabled Human"
It was the ninth month of 1972
A declaration stumbled upon everyone
That dreadful changes will ensue
Without a clue that occurs to no one.
Moment by moment, frightening arose
As the folks' voices are being silenced
Through shutting down of broadcast and radios
To ensure their dominance and disable our defiance.
Military officers are spawned in the streets
Raged with cruelty and ordered to attack
Among those who refuse to comply and retreat
Fighting back is a criminal's act
Either you get tortured by them
Or get beaten to death
Hence, it was a battle you'd dare not to fight
For you will fear for your own life
All you'd like is to get up and be released
From the tormenting prison of this vicious leadership
And gain back the lacking strength like a disabled human
Is this nation crippled and unable to stand
All because of one disabling man
Bring forth again the glory of this land.

I am Prince Nathaniel R. Canovas. My name may seem a little fancy as some people have said but it is sort of special to me. "Prince", was given to me by my mother and she got it from her childhood favorite book, "The Little Prince". While my second name was derived from the bible which means "god given". I am now at the age of 16 and was born on 17th of September, year 2004 and I live with my parents in Kawit, Cavite. I also have a brother who I love dearly.
Growing up, I have always been fond of reading books. I treated literature as a huge aspect of my life. I got my obsession of reading from my mother and my aunt who are the greatest bookworms I know. Classical stories like Grimm's Fairytales were the first books I liked to dive into because of how fascinated I am into fantasies and magics but now that I am older, my preferences kind of changed into loving the Sci-Fi and Young Adult genres. My all time favorite book is The Fault In Our Stars By John Green.
Aside from that, there are a lot of things that I like and don't like. I love hanging out with my friends because I feel like I am having the best time in the world when I am with them. I also like to play badminton and play chess. In terms of my taste buds, I am madly in love with pizza and chicken salpicao. The things I don't like are raisins on basically anything and when my plans are cancelled all of a sudden. Another thing that gets to my nerve is when people lie to me and they break my trust.
Throughout the years, I have faced challenges along the way. There were things I thought I would not get through. I experienced a lot of rejections especially in school. I have failed people's expectations multiple times. I also faced betrayals from people I trusted the most. These experiences really put me in such discouraging situations and have affected me deeply. But despite all that, I have learned that going through obstacles is part of the journey and you just have to always trust the Lord because he will not send those problems our way if he did not know that we can handle them. I learned to forgive not only those who have done me wrong, but also myself.
Now, I am filled with ambitions and hope for my future. I am now giving the best efforts in my studies. I am currently a Grade 11 HUMSS student in Governor Juanito Reyes Remulla Senior High School. I aspire to take Psychology in college and soon get my masteral and doctoral degrees. It is also my dream to own and build a Publishing Company to publish my own-written books and to hopefully help schools who lack educational materials. I believe in the power of education through books. Just like what the strong message that my favorite quote carries that goes, "A library is like an island in the middle of a vast sea of ignorance, particularly if the library is very tall and the surrounding area has been flooded".
