The Final Immunity Challenge

This is Group Chat Survivor

As much as we venture off the map it should be rooted in texting and messaging...

At 12:00 noon (PDT) I will be sending you all a phone number...

You will start and have AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF TIME to count up one by one over text, texting as high of a number as possible. One individual text per number

Obviously you do not have to be texting the entire UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF TIME, but instead you just do what you feel like will get you the win. But be careful, because if you miss a number, send something other than a number, or send numbers out of order... you will have to start over. Any typo is grounds for disqualification and your score will stop at whatever number you were at before your mistake. You can start over if you notice a mistake early on. It’s the longest string of numbers from 1 to ?? in AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF TIME.

Where will you strike the balance of speed and precision... ?

Whoever gets to the highest number within AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF TIME will win.

You’s Clues Charades Challenge

Congratulations on making it to the LOVED ONES challenge! You have each been instructed to find a partner for this next challenge, aka your loved one. 

And we’re playing CHARADES! How does Charades even work? What are the rules? 

Charades is a game of pantomimes: Castaways must "act out" a word or phrase without speaking, and your loved one tries to guess what the clue is... When they get it correct, you can move on to the next one. Your loved one will want to guess the phrase as quickly as possible, because there is going to be a limited amount of time for this challenge and the winner will be the team that gets through the most clues.

I will tell you the window of time before we begin but I will not tell you the amount of clues in the clue bank.

Some clarifying rules:

The game is "acting out" words You may pantomime similar sounding words. The actor can make any gestures No words / spelling out words by letter No pointing at objects in a room. No lip movements. No clapping or whistling, no sound. The guessers may ask the actor questions. To which the actor may nod.

Come on in guys! Today’s challenge is an ENDURANCE challenge that will be played on camera over ZOOM. 

For this challenge, we will be testing your physical strength and endurance. You have been asked to bring 6 unopened soda cans and two plastic shopping bags (or reusable, or garbage) . You will begin by placing three cans in each shopping bag, and from there you will hold the shopping bags, one in each hand, in a “T” position. If your hands drop below the “T” position, you are out. I will give you each one warning, but once your arms drop you are out of the challenge.

Whoever can hold this (difficult) position the longest, will win immunity!

Look At The Big Brain On Chat!

Come on in guys! Getting a look at the new Bringer Goth tribe. Ariel voted out at the last tribal council! 

Immunity is once again back up for grabs. Your Final 8 Immunity Challenge is called: “Look At The Big Brain On Chat!” Only the biggest brain will win this immunity challenge.

Here is how it works:

A random color order has been randomly selected for each player. There are 10 total colors but only 6 colors in the combination. A color is NOT repeated in the code.

The colors are: Black, Blue, Brown, White, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Yellow

You must correctly place the colors in the correct order.

If you have a color correct AND in the correct spot a green light will appear.

If you have a color correct but in the incorrect spot than a yellow light will appear.

After each sequence submitted (texted to me!) we will tell you how many green and yellow lights are present.

Whoever can get the correct combination, causing all 6 green lights to appear, in the fewest number of turns will win individual immunity.

However... we are looking for the BIGGEST brain in this chat, not just a good mind. So there are some road blocks in play. Two of the colors that do NOT appear in your sequence are traps.

One color is the POISON color. If this color is inserted into your sequence then it will cause RED lights to flash. This will prevent you from seeing any other colored lights for the sequence on that turn... but it can also prove deadly. If you select the poison color THREE times you will have an additional score of 1.5 added to your turn total. If you select the poison color FOUR times you will be deemed as NOT the greatest mind and will be eliminated from the challenge. (If everyone is eliminated then NOBODY will win immunity)

And the other trap color is a FALSE POSITIVE. When this color is inserted into your sequence it will always show up as a YELLOW light, even though it does not belong in your sequence.

Since colors are not repeated you may NOT enter a color more than once in the code

The codes are unique to each player, all randomly selected

If you have any questions ask me. This challenge can begin tomorrow morning any time after I’m awake and you have until on 4pm to complete this challenge. You don't have to do the challenge all in one sitting or anything, you can submit color sequences through the day as you have time.

Touchy Subjects - Head to Head

In a variation on Survivor’s classic “majority rules” competition, you were each asked several opinion questions about your fellow players. You gave your opinions but what did everyone else think?

This game will be played in 8 head to head rounds in the Group Chat Survivor Arena (remember that?) -- If you lose a round, you are eliminated from the competition. If you win a round, you will select the next two players to compete against each other. We will continue like this until 8 of you are eliminated and the winner gets immunity.

Each round the 2 players participating will be given 3 questions from the poll we conducted last night. You will send me a text directly (just to me) about what you believe to be the most popular answer. You score a point for every time somebody answered the name you sent to me on that specific question. Whomever has more points from answering the questions correctly will win the round.

Tiebreaker

In the case of a tie, I will announce the exact time the next question will be sent. Instead of texting Dave directly you will be texting right in the Arena. The first person to answer is the only person that can use that answer. The other player must pick a different answer. We will reveal how many players polled said each answer and the higher number will win. If those answers tie, then we will allow the same player that answered first to give a second answer followed by the other player. We will continue with the same question until the tie is broken.

Results

Players within rounds will only know each other's answers at the end of their round. I will reveal both of your answers to all 3 questions and say how much each answer scored. At the end of the challenge, I will reveal the most common answer(s) for each of the questions, but not the answers from each round. We will reveal the scores from each match up though.

The Group Chat Survivor Monologue Comp

Yessss you’ve made it to one of the tried and true comps of Group Chat Survivor... the monologue competition. This will be due by 3pm tomorrow but I’m dropping it now so you can look it over if you want. Really this should only take like an hour or so (?) and then I’ll have some judges (who aren’t named Mark, Miriam or Karina) take a look and give their scores. This will focus mostly on your performance but I’m sure there’ll be some bonus points for that extra punch of zazz.

Best monologue video wins immunity!

You are playing the part of composer Antonio Salieri, reminiscing and breaking down to Father Vogel about the immature Wolfgang Mozart's sublime Serenade No.10 for Winds --

On the page it looked nothing.The beginning simple. Almost comical. Just a pulse. Bassoons and basset horns, like a rusty squeezebox. But then high above it, an oboe. Just a single note hanging there unwavering. Until a clarinet took over and sweetened it to a phrase of such a delight. This was no composition by a performing monkey. This was a music I have never heard before. Filled with such longing, such unfulfillable longing, it had me trembling. It seemed to me that I was hearing the voice of God.  But why? Why would God choose an obscene child to be his instrument? It was not to be believed. This piece had to be an accident! It had to be... It better be.

Gifting Challenge

Wow! You made it to merge. And real merge, not Big Brother merge. It’s time to celebrate. And we know that Mark Burnett’s love language is “Receiving Gifts” so why not look around the beach and find gifts to give to each castaway! That’s nice!

Well it would be nice... if it weren’t for the fact that there are only so many good things on and around this island. Everything else is kinda bad... Oh no the party is starting soon better grab something quick!

Yes everyone was instructed to give out 5 “positive” gifts and 5 “negative” gifts. They were told they could use whatever criteria they wanted, that they had to give out the gifts, and that the gifting had a strong change of being public.

Yes so everyone came to the bonfire and gave out their gifts and here are the results!

Whoa! Those gifts are all over the place! Well who knows how anyone decided how to give out their gifts but you’re all free to talk about it now. 

Oh, yes, immunity. Well, since this is a 12 person merge, we have two immunities to give out today. Yes that’s right, two necklaces. I know it is typical in this game to give out a necklace to a woman and a necklace to a man, but that doesn’t feel like the right fit here.

So congratulations to KARIN and BEN on the first two individual immunities of merge, the two players on either side of the gifting spectrum! Congratulations on your gifts and apologies on your spider bites.
