I imagine Peter Lukas from The Magnus Archives looking like Damien Darhk from Arrow. I expect he does have a beard when he's out on the Tundra, but I think he shaves and puts on a suit whenever he pulls into port.

I think we don’t give Camilla Hect enough badass credit for making the vengeful eldritch soul of the earth do physical therapy and DBT exercises. she’s like the meme of Eddie Brock asking for two bagels when Venom says they want to eat the souls of the innocent. and then she snuggled with her at night.

listen. i do not ever want anything bad to happen to lena kelley. however i do want her to, at some point, be in so much distress that someone has to comfort her. do you understand.

It's occurred to me that although many Locked Tomb characters have died and still managed to hold on to their positions as major onscreen characters (or gained a new position as a major onscreen character after death, e.g. Ortus) it's not really a "death is cheap" universe like Homestuck was for example, where every single character has died at least once and it was all no big deal. But it's clearly also not a "death is final" universe. So I want to propose a new category for the Locked Tomb: "death is expensive". That is, if your blorbo dies, there is still a solid chance that they will reappear onscreen at a later date, but you will have to pay a hefty fee of body horror and/or self-destructive codependent body-sharing or equivalent value for that privilege

when i started my last director job at a university, they told me one of my duties would be to write all the chancellor’s letters. me: “cool. but why though?” them: “English isn’t the chancellor’s first language.” me: “I’m aware of that.” them: “the chancellor likes the suggestions that autocorrect gives him if he misspells something.” me: “Ah.” them: hands me a copy of a letter the chancellor sent to a donor who had just given a million-dollar gift to the university, which includes the following: ‘The profundity of your gift fills us with the greatest horror. In recognition we have prepared a special plague to compromise you and your family’.
Which is why to this day when I’m struggling to communicate in a different language, i remember the chancellor, who was Doing His Best, and i try to give myself a break.

Every time I see badly done horny artwork of big breasted female characters, well, I'm not going to be shitty to the artists, but I do wince and think, "Why are the breasts shaped like that? Like beach balls? Why are they shiny? Are they made of plastic? Why are they levitating? No, no, they need support! Breasts have weight to them! They'd drop right out of the bottom of that top!"

Ah, this would mean that the universe of The Magnus Protocol already had its own deities, didn't it? Because some of the cases pre-date the arrival of the fear gods. Well, alright then.
Episode 1: CAT1RBC5257-12052022-09012024 is the End, while CAT23RAB2155-10042022-09012024 is the Eye.
Episode 2: CAT3RBC1567-23092022-18012024 is the Flesh.
Episode 3: CAT2C8175-03042009-22012024 is a case that pre-dates the fear gods. This is about the guy who turns into a plant. It seemed to be the Corruption, but I'm going to term it the Garden.
Episode 4: CAT3C7494-19111831-29012024 seems to be the Slaughter, but since it pre-dates, let's find it a different category. Let's call it the Music.
Episode 5: CAT2RB2377-10012023-05022024 is the Eye.
Episode 6: CAT1RB4824-09022024-12022024 is the Slaughter.
Episode 7: CAT2RC3338-03022016-12022024 is another pre-date one. Let's call it the Sharing.
Episode 8: CAT2RBC3366-12072023-28022024 is the Lonely.
Episode 9: CAT3RB3354-14101998-08032024 is another pre-date one. Let's call this one the Luck.
Episode 10: CAT1RB2275-06082021-09032024 is the Stranger.
I'm almost certainly going to rework my classifications as we get more episodes and cases, but these are my starting thoughts.
Because the fear gods are new to the world of The Magnus Protocol, there aren't going to be 400 year old Avatars running around, are there? Everyone - Ink5oul and Needles and so on - is going to be super new to Avatarship with no one to explain how any of it works to them.

Yes, lots of parallels in Nona the Ninth between John and Palamedes (and Camilla). They both want to save everyone in the face of an overwhelming threat: climate change for John and Varun for Palamedes and Camilla. They both have their save everyone view opposed by people who only want to save some people: the trillionaires for John and the descendants of the trillionaires for Palamedes and Camilla. They both have scenes where they have to deal with a raid and a scene where they kill cops. They both undergo apotheosis.
The question - and I expect this to continue to play out in Alecto the Ninth - is can Paul prevail where John failed?
I think we need to be looking more into the similarities between Jod and Palamedes.
