ranking the tellies based on how much of a gamer(TM) they are

anthony. anthony uses reddit you see. you’d think they’d be the type to do super competitive or high-strategy esports or whatever but instead they just constantly buy miscellaneous rpgs, life sims, beat-em-ups etc. and puts a fuck ton of effort into unlocking everything possible but gives up after like a couple weeks and moves onto something else. it has a massive steam library but very few actually completed.

zak. look at this dude and tell me ey wouldn’t kick ass at esports. fighting games especially (xe main heavy characters most of the time but you’ll always be surprised by how well xe can pull off the lowest tier character). he owns such a decadent gamer setup. the only thing that limits eir gamer status from being top tier is the fact that you can’t make em play anything with character customization because ey’ll sit on the customization screen for 4 hours, say “these options are too limited, i can’t make this character look how i want,“ and then quit & open a doll making program.

ughhhh. do board/card games count? if they did he’d be #1 but seeing as its actual video gaming experience is less great it gets to sit at #3. they’ve been an attentive fan of one specific niche series for its whole 20-odd year lifespan & owns every game, no matter the obscurity (including the japanese-exclusives), but hasn’t actually completed all of them, due to many being. japanese-exclusive. it refuses to emulate or look at fan translations, or do any fandom interaction at all really. they are enjoying themself though. somehow.

&eorge. like not to be mean but she could never get into console/pc gaming. he’s got loads of hours put into phone mmos & can navigate a complex ui like it’s nobody’s business but doesn’t even know what’s in the most recent minecraft update. she constantly cycles through stuff like baking sims, clicker games, & other things that are mainly based around waiting, but always has fruit ninja installed.

roger. don’t get them wrong they’ve picked up on loads of gamer stuff just from living with the other tellies, they probably have the widest range of gaming knowledge purely through osmosis, but can never make themself sit down & play anything more intense than a puzzle game (e. g. picross or sudoku). he’s got like a small handful of puzzle games with close to a hundred hours put into them & is in no rush to complete them. he is the designated telly hole dungeon master though.

conclusion? zak interacted with the esports twitch scene for a period of time, and when xir twitch chat found out about roger it didn’t take long before roggers (pronounced like poggers) became an emote. xe don’t stream any longer but anthony genuinely cannot stop herself from calling him that still
