Please support my eating habit!

It’s just really hard to buy groceries with $47/mo EBT, and I can’t do it regularly. I have a regular food bank in my building, and I’m using it. Sometimes it’s great. Other times, well. So many beans.

And I’m not against beans. Or rice. Or potatoes. Or oatmeal. I am well and truly grateful for a supply of staples.

But I’d dearly like the things to supplement these with that make them More Enjoyable.

There are people in more desperate circumstances, and I’m not in danger of starving.

It feels like for a while in there that people were dropping them as a sponsor but now that the controversy has slightly dimmed there are so many ads for them again; do not give them your information, do not give them your money

I know insurance is a pain in the ass and mental health treatments cost too much out of pocket for most people. So do they, that's why they're making this little bait and switch operation. with so many things going on i neglected my teeth to the point of extreme decay. i made this gofundme originally for $8000 to be split between my first and second visits. i can’t tell you how happy i am that community came together to help a disabled stranger. based on my recent x-rays i need more work like a bone graft which ups the cost. i don’t plan to go to turkey until december/january but wanted to start earlier to give myself a chance to get the money in time.

I think it’s incredibly fucked how capitalism discourages learning for learning’s sake. People will have interests they’ve spent years researching then say it’s “useless knowledge” bc it didn’t go towards a college degree and isn’t part of their job. Learning is never useless! Your brain is growing and developing throughout your whole life! People would never have epiphanies or sudden lightening strikes of creativity if they weren’t learning new things! That goes double for topics like science, politics, and history, which inform your understanding of the world you live in!
