You can’t force someone to love you, or force someone to treat you how you want to be treated — they have to want to do that in their own. If someone wanted to be loud and proud about their love for you, they would. If someone wanted to spoil you, they would — don’t beg for it.

When you continuously have this hope that someone can become who you want them to be, rather than see them for who they truly are — you do a disservice to yourself because there’s someone out there who is who you want and will treat you how you deserve without begging them to.

When someone shows you who they are and shows you how they truly feel about you — believe them the first time rather than trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope that you can change them. You can’t change anyone who doesn’t want to be changed.

Your "non-confrontational" choices not to communicate hurt the people you don't confront btw. You're not a martyr for keeping everything inside and then running away when other people don't know what's going on with you. You just decided avoiding rejection and sparing your own feelings was easier than being honest and giving them the agency to respond and make their own decisions. You chose to hurt them so they didn't hurt you. You think your feelings are realer and more important than their own care and love for you. You were always just waiting for a sign to run.

"If they cared about me they would have–" did you tell them that? Did you let them know how you feel? How much importance you place on those requirements they don't know they have to meet? This secret criteria and secret signs for your secret feelings? Or are you making them play a game they don't know even exists?

Your choice not to communicate isn't cute. You didn't run because they didn't feel the same for you. You ran so you wouldn't have to risk rejection. You chose to prioritise your own self-protection over their trust in and love for you. At least own that.

Why Do So Many People Act Like The Morrigan is Just a War Goddess?

She’s also a Goddess of Magic(k). She uses Her sorcery to shapeshift into animals and trick or hinder Her enemies. She uses Her sorcery to curse the men of Ulster. She uses Her sorcery to bring rains of blood to Her enemies to make them fearful and weak before battle.

She’s a Goddess of Sovereignty. She motivates rulers and leaders in battle. She curses Kings unworthy of their rule. She Herself is strong and fierce and independent. She does not stand for disrespect towards Her. She teaches others to not stand for disrespect towards themselves.

She’s a Goddess of the Land. She guards the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, that all nature experiences. She is in every piece of earth, every leaf, every creature. She rules the lands and demands we respect Her domain.

She’s a Goddess of Prophecy. She appears as an omen of death to warriors that will soon fall. She predicts the outcome of battles and announces victories. Her speeches mark battles as over, and in them She prophecies life to come.

She’s a Goddess of Fear and Frenzy. Her shrieks spark terror in Her enemies. They harm each other out of confusion when they hear Her wails. She earns the upper hand by using Her wits to inspire frenzy before the fighting has even begun.

She’s a Goddess of Life and Death. She marks warriors for dead as She dances across their spearpoints. She blesses those She likes with knowledge to live, and curses those who disrespect Her with suffering and terror.

Sure, She’s a Goddess of Battle. She participates in wars, but she rarely raises a weapon. A lot of Ancient Irish life revolved around cattle raids. Of course She would be present in battle.

She’s a Battle Goddess, but She’s also so much more.

If there's one conclusion I've arrived at after a decade and a half of being a witch, it's that some people you don't need to spend the time and energy to curse. You can just let them wreck themselves in due time, because eventually they run out of lives to ruin and soon enough they get to their own.

Just because you don't do a type of magic (baneful magic, death magic, sex magic, curses, spirit work, etc) doesn't mean other people shouldn't.

If you don't like baneful magic? OK 👍 don't do baneful magic. But also don't harass witches who do. Their practice is not yours.
