Zanele Muholi is one of the most acclaimed photographers working today, and their work has been exhibited all over the world. With over 260 photographs, this exhibition presents the full breadth of their career to date.

Muholi describes themself as a visual activist. From the early 2000s, they have documented and celebrated the lives of South Africa’s Black lesbian, gay, trans, queer and intersex communities.

In the early series Only Half the Picture, Muholi captures moments of love and intimacy as well as intense images alluding to traumatic events – despite the equality promised by South Africa’s 1996 constitution, its LGBTQIA+ community remains a target for violence and prejudice.

no that isn't something staff have control over, it's a systemic issue with puritanical groups intentionally strangling online infrastructure to make adult content impossible to platform.

a lot of sex educators and queer outreach groups also left, and nobody seems to remember that they were a huge part of the landscape here

you have to take the eradication of sexual content from online spaces seriously as an issue that affects more than whether you personally can post catgirl balls on one specific platform

there is no 'good social media' in 2023 that will ever be equipped to solve this problem until the financial/cultural issue is addressed. decentralisation is your best bet. sorry.

I will always advocate for every queer person's right to be a fully autonomous sexual being-and that always must and always will include asexuals. Recognizing the significance of queer sex should not mean that every queer person should be mandated to meet an arbitrary sexual prerequisite in order for their queerness to be affirmed. Centering queerness around sex leaves very little room for queer folks for whom sex is insignificant, or for whom sex is never or rarely possible, or for queer folks who have never had sex before, or for queer folks whose only sexual experiences have been violent. It also leaves a lot of queer people, especially young ones, feeling pressured to have a certain amount or certain type of sex in order to legitimate or prove their queerness to themselves or to someone else.

American and Canadian friends, you can now watch a whole decades worth of Neighbours from TODAY on Amazon Freevee

AND watch the show when NEW regular episodes launch!

As a build-up to the “un-cancelled” Neighbours‘ return with new episodes later this year on Freevee, Amazon’s free streaming hub has set a release date for “a selection of celebrated former episodes” from the Australia soap opera.

Neighbours was unceremoniously cancelled in March 2022, and its series finale on the UK’s Channel 5 aired last July 28, featuring cameos by series vets Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Guy Pearce. But in mid-November, eight months after the sudser was axed, Freevee stepped up to order a new season that will bring back lead cast members such as Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Jackie Woodburne. Production will commence this year with a premiere slated for the second half of  2023.

The first drop of library episodes on Freevee will happen Thursday, Feb. 23, when the free streaming service will host Neighbours season “2012,” which featured the show’s memorable first kiss between Chris and Aidan, Toadie’s heartwarming proposal to Sonya, and Lucas and Vanessa’s dramatic wedding day.  Also that day, Freevee will make available a selection of episodes featuring alumni such as Robbie, Minogue, Donovan, Pearce, Russell Crowe, Natalie Imbruglia and Liam Hemsworth.

Following that initial drop, a past season of Neighbours will launch on Freevee every month, until the show’s new episodes premiere later this year.

And starting Tuesday, Feb. 28, the streaming service will launch a variety of Neighbours streaming channels including “Neighbours – Looking Back” (Channel 1) and “Best of Neighbours” (Channel 2).

Neighbours follows the lives, loves, and challenges of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia, a fictional suburb of Melbourne. Its initial run spanned more than three decades and nearly 9,000 episodes.
