So I've been thinking about this. Eddie mentions that although he did love Shannon, they got married because of Chris and que more Catholic guilt. IDK if we're meant to interpret this way or not. But is it just that women are the ones he has trouble committing to without societal pressure and catholic guilt. Cause he sure didn't seem to have any issues committing to Buck, even platonically. I mean he made the guy the guardian of his own son despite Pepa, and his sister being able, and likely willing to take Chris in if the worst happened. Like at the time his relationship with his parents was still rocky, and still is now, so I get not picking them. But he has sisters, cousins, etc.
bobby telling eddie that he can commit to shannon, when the man ran away to afghanistan, twice, and then refused to move to california, only moving there when he got a job offer, and then still not reconnecting, and then still hesitating to let her back in, and then once he does let her back in, hides her from their son. yeah sure he can commit

I don't think he's entirely wrong. There have been so many times where I'm watching a show and the characters start making out and I'm like. HELLO, this place is about to blow, or there's an invasion coming, or like... maybe this isn't the time for a huge full-blown make-out session. And do not get me started on sex scenes in movies. Like holy Kirby. I cannot tell you how many times a sex scene has ruined a movie or taken me out of it. Oppenheimer is a great example of that.
That being said. There is a time and place for it, and it can work that's all. I don't think Lou was necessarily against it. But that it needs to add something and be part of the story. But that is also just his preference. I very much would gladly enjoy a scene of Buck and Tommy just being lazy in bed and talking. I think that shows a level of intimacy between characters.

OH BOOOOO even if he just thought it was wrong for the show/scene that's fine but being one of those "takes away from the story" people is so lame come on be a man

Sometimes I wonder: Was the “two half-miracles” miracle so powerful because it combined the powers of Heaven and Hell? Or because they love each other?

Maybe controversial opinion but I really don't want Bucks coming out to be made about Eddie's jealousy. Like I'm not completely against future jealous Eddie (I'll always love and hope for Buddie) but can Buck please get a nice coming out and self discovery and first relationship with a man experience first? I know there'll be drama and some angst no matter what but I really don't want it to be immediately messy just for the sake of establishing buddie, if that makes sense

My Thoughts on Tommy and Buck
I love that it's a character we know instead of introducing a brand-new character. LFJ is very nice to look at too so that helps. Lol.
Plus I do like that Buck now has someone outside the 118 that we actually like. And yes, I know Tommy was part of the 118. But he's really not anymore. And sure he's still in the firefighter world. But it gives Buck something that is just his own. For however long this lasts.
And Buck and Tommy do have good chemistry. I like the banter. I like the potential. And I want Tommy to stick around for a little while. I hope the positive response to Tommy's return and Bi Buck also brings Tommy back for season 8. It will be cute to see Buck nervous, and clueless, and get to hopefully be vulnerable, and get some love.
Buck deserves a happy loving relationship where he gets the love he deserves. Like Buck gives off such little spoon energy. Tommy seems to be a great guy. We don't know much about him yet. if Buck and Tommy are together for now, it is not the end of the world and it doesn't mean your ship is sunk.
Buck and Tommy are a great way to end the hamster wheel. Let people enjoy it. Yes, I'm looking at those of you sending Buck/Tommy shippers anonymous hate. On the question of Buddie.
Eddie has Marisol, and thus far seems content with that. If this is a temporary relationship that's ok. But it's good that he dates someone he likes and has a positive dating experience. The only other woman he's dated was Anna (not counting Shannon, of course), and watching Paint Dry was more interesting than her and Eddie. Plus I think it can't hurt for Eddie to gain some dating experience to help him realize if he has a type, what he wants, and what he's missing.
I can still think Buck and Eddie would be great together and ship it. While also still happy if Buck and Tommy is a thing. People can have multiple ships with one character. It's not the end of the world.
And if by some odd circumstance, Buck and Eddie do not become canon, it doesn't diminish the importance of what they do have. But I think the majority of us know or think, or hope that Buddie is endgame. But its not gonna happen tomorrow or next episode, or this season. And that's ok. So. Stop hating on Tommy without any real reason. Stop hating people who like him with Buck

No matter your ships, DO NOT SEND HATE TO THE ACTORS!!
This was a good episode. heartbreaking, incredible, with a good build-up. So whatever your thoughts on who that character should be dating, keep it to your blog. And enjoy the show.

I just want more Grampneto interacting with both of them. Looking forward to seeing more of Pietro and Tommy in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver... hopefully.
I only remember Max interacting with the twins in Children's Crusade, but I also recall Al Ewing saying he wanted to eventually get Magneto and Billy on the same page again. Honestly the connection to Tommy always intrigued me more, though; with Max even noting that Tommy is very similar to him.
It makes sense that Ewing would be interested in getting Billy and Magneto on-page together, because they're both prominent characters that he was writing in different books at around the same time. Empyre, Guardians and Last Annihilation were coming out at the same time as S.W.O.R.D. and X-Men Red, and they even cross over a few times-- Ewing has always been really good at weaving his various ongoing titles together, even if they take place in very different parts of the Marvel world.
So, yeah, I can see why he'd want to have them interact. Billy and Magneto are-- or were, at the time-- both acting as heads of state in newly formed nations that were recovering from millennia of war. Having the two of them in a room together could bring up some really interesting social and political conversations-- these are two closely connected characters who share certain elements of their backgrounds and personal beliefs, but also have very different outlooks and experiences. It's kind of how I felt about Billy interacting with Doctor Doom in Guardians-- Billy is a much younger, more idealistic person who's led an objectively more privileged life, so putting him in conversation with somebody from his community that is much older, and with a much less idealistic praxis, who has already learned a lot of the hard lessons about power and liberation, could bring up some really profound stuff. It's a shame that Ewing didn't have the time or commitment to explore either of those dynamics.
Is Tommy more similar to Magneto? Maybe. I think they have more in common, in terms of life experience, but I don't think Tommy is any more or less radical than his brother. Billy's introduction as an Avengers fanboy and his mental health storylines tend to make people forget that he's just as quick to anger and unafraid of violence as anybody else in his family. If anything, I think Tommy is more avoidant when it comes to conflict and cause, but that's partially an editorial issue-- it's not his fault that he's been absent from so many books.
But Tommy and Magneto do get along the best in Children's Crusade. I can certainly imagine that Magneto would, in his uniquely toxic way, look at Tommy as a second chance to do better with Pietro. He's probably more open and paternal with Tommy, whereas I can imagine he might be a little high-handed with Billy, and maybe project some of his anxieties about Wanda.

YES! Like I actually want to see the road to canon. I think this season is a great opportunity to start building the foundation.
i know the romantic culmination of buck and eddie has been years in the making but i still hope we get at least a few episodes of actual slow burn where they're both aware of their feelings and somehow think that their feelings aren't reciprocated or maybe they're just scared to take that final step because what if they ruin what they have okay so i want these two episodes to lead into that i want buck's jealousy and eddie's reassurance to be the first actual stepping stones for them toward this undeniable thing they have and that when they finally give in and allow themselves to simply feel and do what makes them happy you know that's what i want

Saw someone being like "W O W i can't believe they made the live action atla suki a sheltered girl who has never left her town and ends up crushing on the first outsider boy she meets; that's such a disservice to her character" as though cartoon-suki was not also a sheltered girl who had never left her home town and who ended up crushing on the first outsider boy she met.
