Among those fleeing are Ukrainian members of this organization who are doing the work of surviving, fighting, fleeing, and helping their disability communities and families.

Well, I am offering Tolkien illustrations, to start with. And I think helping to protect the vulnerable in a time of war is a meaningful way to show your appreciation of Tolkien's writing.

I’m having a bit of a stressful time in my own life right now so I can’t offer more than sketches (in pen, ink or pencil, up to you. might add some colour if I have time). I also don’t have the time to set up anything to check whether you actually did so, but I trust most people have something of a conscience to live with. If you lie about it know I despise you.

There are a lot of fundraisers going around at the moment, and you cannot expect me to reblog every one of them– this is a tolkien tumblr (on hiatus), you shouldn’t use a random tumblr as a source of news or orgs to donate to anyway, there are good journalists and organisations to follow for that.

But this one happens to support fleeing/displaced people in a very direct way, and even if they did reach their initial urgent goal their current ~2100 pounds is simply not much to support multiple displaced families for who knows how long.

it might take me 1-5 days to upload your character sketch of choice because  busy. But I will get to it. You can send an ask, message, or reply to this post.

This is a Crowdfunder for on-the-ground, mutual aid for Ukranian Roma. Currently, it's mainly being shared amongst some UK-based Romani and Traveller activists/charities I keep up with but I thought I'd share here. It's currently the only one of it's kind that I've been seeing.

Roma will inevitably be forgotten BY EVERYONE during this war if we don't do our utmost to remember and help them in any way we possibly can, even if that is simply boosting info about how to help them escape immediate danger.

I also think this Twitter thread on the history of Ukranian Roma (from the Middle Ages to the present day) by Queer Roma is a good primer to read alongside boosting this Crowdfunder.
