OKAY
taking a few days away. Brain weird/headspace shit has gotten worse, so I’m relatively confident in saying the return of the nightmare zone was a symptom not a cause of just a day of uncertainty. Who knows. Maybe a proper sleep will make things better. But still saying going to be offline until the urge to destroy all I’ve done ever is gone/burn it all start fresh style ya know?, or something equally stupid.

on edge brain weird mood decided not to write angsty shit like it usually would, instead planned this entire ‘let Jay be happy’ verse. And it basically came down to Mason raising him and being present.
Trading his bike in an picking up a camper or an old RV or something. Continuing to work, like, mediating some trivial but overblown dispute between two types of inhuman neighbors while baby Jay was strapped to his chest in a baby carrier.
Mason doing all the good parent stuff he did anyways, but without all the shit priorities, vanishing acts and disappointment. And not dying when Jay was 12, leaving him to be raised where and how he was. Jay not being an emotionally stunted idiot. Jay being happy in general. It wouldn’t be a fun him to RP. Far too nice. Far too soft. But Jay being happy is just an entire THING okay? ╰(*°▽°*)╯

Adiel was in a long term relationship with another guard at the same gate he used to work at. They worked up to there together. Went through violent and bloody battles, depressing and stressful work for thousands of years.
Then Adiel fucked up, and what he did put not only his job in danger, but theirs too. So when his ass got demoted and booted out of that level of heaven, things just ended. Addy tried to see them, and part of what motivates him to actually keep working and trying to get back to anything close to the standing he had before is the possibility of finding them again. Completely unaware they fucking hate his ass for putting their future in such a perilous position as well.

what if, instead of work on my drafts or try to go back to sleep, I create a human verse for Adiel where he’s a wannabe professional ballet dancer who realizes he can make better money as a stripper?

Jason didn’t sit, not expecting Jay to really react and more expecting a ‘I’ll hit you up later’ sort of parting. The sudden change had a wall up instantly but that quick flex of his jaw dissipated once he realized Jay wasn’t trying to physically come at him over this and the sound of his voice had him take a step back but still didn’t sit yet. Eyes focused on Jay, curious as to where this came from but all the same, Jason knew, he - cared and neither of them were going to admit something like that to each other so this is how it was proven. Jason didn’t have a whole lot of experience in friendships or relationships, never letting someone get close and never really letting himself get close to another. Jay barreled into his life and Jason never stood a chance but that didn’t mean he was willing to risk it all on something fleeting. Between Jason’s night job and Jays own reckless behavior they couldn’t really promise long and definitely not forever.
He held eye contact when Jay stepped closer, half wanting to push him back and the other wanting to take that seat. Even with the different kind of tension he lifted his hand and pushed Jays glasses up a bit. The whole ‘you can talk to me speech’ didn’t fall on deaf ears but Jason had no idea how to actually sit and talk to someone about this kind of this so he just shrugged, “And are you going to sit and talk to me?” Eyebrows furrowed a bit, knowing he and Jay handled things pretty similar, “Are you going to stop making things a joke too?” Jason was not about to walk this one way street of openness and vulnerability but he did move to take that seat to let Jay know, fine, he wasn’t running but that didn’t mean he was going to talk.
Jay’s concern and anger melted into a small, genuine, smile as Jason pushed his glasses up. Such a small little gesture made it easier, for some reason, to not let anger and panic cloud him as much. “If you want, sure.” Jay slowly moved back to his chair, not about to let Jason use him as an excuse not to talk. His own fear about that level of vulnerability was far surpassed by his need to make sure his friend was okay and has someone they could trust. Something he didn’t even realize until then. Of course, all the best intentions of the world couldn’t give Jay a crash course in not being so him about it all. Far too aggressive as he repeated, “You didn’t bring this up for nothing. There’s something there you want known, and you can’t go dropping something like that and leaving me to go thinking all kinds of wild shit until you decide to clear it up.” To try and give them both something else to focus on as well, Jay pulled out two more beers from the case and handed one over. “When half your family has died at one point or another, the threshold for wild shit is pretty out there.”
There wasn’t much Jason could say that would really shock him, he didn’t expect there was anyways, but he hadn’t exactly been forthcoming with all the weirdness he was already well accustomed to. “I’ll drop the jokes, you can ask what you want.” He hesitated, flicking the pull tab of the can a few times, creating that echoing twang of metal, “I don’t got a lot of people who matter to me. You’re one of them, and this is important, alright? So I can’t go making guarantees about total honesty,” Jay grinned and took a drink, “But I’ll give it a damn good try. Long as you do, too. And long as you don’t go trying to make a quick exit again, cause we both know if your ass really wanted to leave, nothing I could’ve done to stop you.”
