Sad luke on his birthday always gets me

Like julie didn accept his apology and said he put the band before others/the new band. And then he probably thought about his parents who also didnt agree with his old band and maybe they were somewhat right about it. And then he goes home and sees them celebrating his birthday 25 years later. And he cant talk to them.. or ask them for advise on how to fix things. Half because he cant as a ghost and half because hes scared they wouldnt help him if he were still alive.

Ive only thought about him being sad that hes dead in this scene but he definitely is upset that he fucked up and so far his attempts to get julie's forgiveness have failed.

The only song that has any sort of “punk rock” feel to it is Flying Solo. It’s Julie’s lyrics, but Luke and Reggie’s music

(And I would love to this happen again in season 2)

sometimes i genuinely forget that the boys from sunset curve are supposed to be very punk rock band from the 90s

like their aesthetic (especially luke’s) is very grunge/punk rock and that whole vibe and yet as soon as they form a band with julie that kinda gets thrown out the window?

luke is the driving force when it comes to the lyrics and the songs that the boys develop and make their own and yet once jatp became a thing luke just went “ya julie’s our genre of music now imma change my songs to suit her” and reggie and alex just said ‘ya ofc’ and like. good for him

I was literally just thinking last night that I fully believe luke was supposed to sing “watch me shine” with julie

And then he just.. decides to not.. because he wants to see her shine

anyway so luke is known to sing along with julie whenever they’re performing, taking full on verses or just a pre-chorus/bridge every now and then but in finally free he lets julie take the ‘watch me shine’ line every time it comes up. he even sings up to that line, locking eyes with julie as he talks about his chest beating like thunder and coming alive but then drops out and backs away from her spotlight to let her fully shine

and you know what julie does? she shines brighter than anything he’s ever goddamn seen
