When we say fashion mistakes, we're not talking about outfits that can land you in a worst dressed list but rather long held fashion habits that you've refused to let go of, fashion beliefs that you still hold on to and not paying attention to fashion details. Details are what can make or break an entire outfit.

Fashion has really evolved in the 21st century and allows you to combine different fashion trends but there are still some simple rules that must be followed.

So, on our previous post 20 COMMON FASHION MISTAKES MEN MAKE PART 1, we talked about just 10 Mistakes, on this post we would be talking about the other 10. Read on to find out what they are!

11. WEARING SPORT JERSEY EVERYWHERE YOU GO: Hey bro! I know you're a strong Chelsea fan but you know what, the players aren't seeing you on their jersey; Take that jersey off and wear a nice T-shirt. Jerseys are meant to be worn when going to a sports game or when you're at home they aren't applicable on a daily basis please!.

12. WEARING THE MOST RIDICULOUS GLASSES : I call it ridiculous because you're not competing in a cycling race, So, drop those sport shades right now! Invest in nice trendy sun shades instead.

13. SQUARE TOE SHOES OR OVERLY POINTED SHOES : These types of shoes are not acceptable. They will completely destroy your look; they are big, awkward and outdated. Opt for trendy and corporate shoes.

14 : BEING TOO MATCHY - MATCHY : Why would you wear a striped shirt, a striped tie, striped pocket square with a striped suit pant, just because you want to match your outfit. Keep your outfit simple while you're still learning the art of matching by choosing mostly neutral as your base. When blending multiple elements, think in terms of complimentary colours and patterns rather than exact matching. (Striped or patterned elements goes best with plain outfits).

15. FAILURE TO USE BODY SPRAY, ANTI - PERSPIRANT OR ROLL- ON : Personally, I love men that smells nice; It is a total turn off for me when a man smells bad. Investing in a signature fragrance is absolutely key when it comes to making a strong impression or enhancing your style.

16. SAGGING : Nobody wants to see your boxers anytime you step out. Dude, kindly pull up your pants!.

17. WHITE SOCKS WITH BLACK SHOES : This simply doesn't match; as much as possible avoid this style mistake.

18. POPPING UP YOUR COLLAR : You're not being featured in a music video, so, fold that collar back in its place!.

19. MIS-MATCHING BELT AND DRESS SHOES : Your shoes must match your belt. They don't have to be made of the same leather but you cannot and shouldn't wear brown shoes and black belts or vice versa.

20. BULKY POCKETS : Many men walk around with bulky pockets. If its your wallet that's causing the bulge, take out those old receipts and business cards, keep them somewhere safe or better still, get a slimmer wallet to save space.

20 COMMON FASHION MISTAKES MEN MAKE. Pt 1.

Fashion may seem overwhelming to men and is seen as a statement only women should make. Throughout a man's growth from childhood to manhood, he learns lessons on how to look good and attractive. However, sometimes good taste in style is not a man's strong point. With this in mind, I have compiled a list of common fashion mistakes most men make while striving to be fashionable and stylish and guess what!..I also gave solutions to each of these mistakes.

Before we proceed, let's look at some reasons why you should invest time and money into improving your appearance.

#1. IT'S THE FIRST THING YOUR INTERVIEWER SEES: When you go for a job interview, your appearance is the first thing everyone notices. It was discovered that your appearance contributes at least 30% chances in you getting that dream job.

#2. ATTRACTING THE OPPOSITE SEX: Here's a piece of advice - no woman wants a man who is a fashion wack, everyone loves men that always looks smart and presentable. Improving your fashion sense would go a long way impressing and getting your dream girl.

#3. CONFIDENCE: Did you know looking great boosts your confidence? Here's a challenge for you - Go out wearing average clothes and see how you feel and the next day, wear the best clothes you have and do same. You will notice a big difference.

These above are some simple reasons you need to improve your fashion sense. Now here's a list of some fashion mistakes men make. (We would be talking about just 10 mistakes on this post and the other 10 would be discussed in the part 2 of the post).

1. WEARING SUSPENDERS AND BELTS AT THE SAME TIME: The first mistake has something to do with corporate shirts. Suspenders are meant to hold trousers up, so do belts. Do not wear suspenders and belts at the same time because they perform the same function. Choose which one to wear at a particular time; its either Suspenders or Belts.

2. WEARING A BACKPACK ON SUIT OR A CORPORATE JACKET: In the 21st century, fashion allows us to do a lot of things but wearing a backpack on suit is not the best combo. Laptop bags compliments corporate outfits more. A laptop bag would be a better option.

3. MAKING YOUR TIE TOO SHORT: When you wear a tie, remember it shouldn't be too long or too short. There is a general tie rule - The tip of your tie should cover your belt buckle.

4. WEARING OVER - SIZED SHIRTS: Over-sized clothing is still in fashion but please do not apply this look to classic or corporate shirts. Check if the shirt fits your shoulders very well; if the collar or neckline is the perfect size and if the sleeve lengths are perfect. A properly chosen shirt can emphasize the dignity of your stature.

5. WEARING OVER - SIZED PANTS: This is common amongst our fire brand, tongue talking Christian brothers. It is so not attractive seeing you on baggy and extremely long pants, it doesn't matter if you think it will fit you better in future. If you must wear pants whether jeans, chinos or suit pants, it is important that you opt for the ones that fits very well.

6. VISIBLE UNDER-SHIRTS OR UNDER-WEARS: It's not a crime to wear under-shirts as long as it is not showing. The under-shirt is considered an under-wear, so, according to fashion etiquette, it should absolutely not be visible. But if you really wish to unbutton your shirt, opt for a V-necked under-shirt instead.

7. TOO MUCH ACCESSORIES: Everyone loves people that's are well groomed and does things moderately. Too much accessories sometimes makes you look like a gangster. To achieve a cool and moderate look, opt for minimal accessories that matches your outfits.

8. WEARING SANDALS WITH SOCKS: Except you're a school boy, you shouldn't try this. Sandals are meant to be worn on bare feet so you feel comfortable but if you don't like your feet showing, then think about investing in closed toe shoes.

9. TOO MANY COLOUR COMBO: You may be a colour freak and loves to show it in and out, that's fine, but make sure its not too much and it doesn't make you look like a costume. Generally, wearing sharp colours as a man isn't a good idea if you want to look smart. Dressing in basic colours will make you look more organised, sophisticated and attractive.

10. TUCKING YOUR T-SHIRT IN YOUR PANTS: You may think this makes you look cool but it doesn't, in fact, it makes you look like a middle aged man. Leave your T-shirt untucked!.

None of these mistakes are insurmountable, they simply require a bit of finesse to correct them.

HOW TO STYLE A DENIM DRESS

Dresses are not just what we wear, they are statements and denim dresses has become statements on their own. There are a lot of styles when it comes to denim dresses; some are tight, loosed, long, short...the list is endless but there are different ways of wearing each style.

The denim dress was made popular by some celebrities and brand influencers like @chicamastyle because we kept spotting her on different denim styles and she completely rocked them!.

So, how do you wear or style a denim dress? Just keep reading and find out. READY! Let's roll...

1. DENIM SHIRT DRESS : One of the most popular denim dress style is the denim shirt dress. It is a long version of a denim shirt and it is either fitted or loosed. Some have buttons in front like a button up shirt while some are just slip overs with fancy buttons. Some have ripped bottoms while some have neatly sewn bottoms. To rock a denim shirt dress, wear a pair of heels with a clutch or a tote bag but if you're usually not comfortable on heels, you could wear a pair of white sneakers with a cross bag to give you a casual look.

Another way to rock a denim shirt dress is teaming your shirt dress up with some tight fitting leggings or pants and a pair of ankle or stiletto heels with a clutch bag. It could also be worn as a denim dress jacket with a camisole, a tight fitting pant and a pair of heels just like the fashion influencer @chicamastyle. See picture below.

2. DENIM SHIFT DRESS : A shift dress is an extremely loosed dress usually worn by pregnant women but a lot has changed in fashion today so a shift dress can be worn by anybody provided it is worn properly with the right footwear, accessories e.t.c. These type of dresses are great because they work for all season. See pictures below.

Personally, I like this particular denim shift dress above by @mmakamba_official because of the white patches. A shift dress can be worn with a sneaker, ankle heel, knee high heels or boots, stiletto heels e.t.c. You could use a waist belt to look chicky. (A nice pair of flats or gladiator sandals is best for pregnant women who aren't comfortable on heels).

3. 2PC DENIM : Here's another denim outfit by the queen herself @mmakamba_official. What's unique and different about this outfit are the exaggerated sleeves, the ankara patch, the corset bodice and the bow tie neckline. Team up this denim outfit with a clutch or a tote bag, ankle or stiletto heel and a pair of sun glasses and I bet you'd be crowned the queen of denim. 😇

I decided to cover just these three denim dresses because each of them are unique.

HOW TO STYLE A TULLE SKIRT.

The tulle skirt is another term for the tutu skirt.

Personally, I didn't like the tulle or tutu skirt because of its full and childish nature and thought nobody or only few people would wear it on the street but it seems like fashion has no rules at all, so I found ways to transform this childhood dress up style. In fashion anything is possible and in this case the possibilities are endless.

Here are ways you can style the tulle skirt.

1. FOR THE OFFICE : Wear a tulle skirt with a structured cropped jacket or blazer and a pair of heels to keep it professional.

2. FOR CASUAL OUTINGS : Wear a tulle skirt with a jean top, a clutch purse and a pair of heels or a turtle neck top with either an ankle heel or a stilettos heel.

3. THE TANK AND TULLE : Spice up your midi tulle skirt with a tank top, clutch purse and stilettos heels. (For tall or average height ladies).

4. TURTLE AND STRIPES : There's a saying that stripes goes with anything and in this case it is very true. Wear a striped top on a contrast coloured tulle skirt, spice it up with either a clutch or a tote bag and a pair of heels.

5. TULLE AND GRAPHIC TEES : Team up your tulle skirt with a graphic tee, a well structured crop buckle or zipper jacket, a pair of heels and a clutch or tote bag.

6. MAXI TULLE : Wear a crop top on a maxi tulle skirt, a clutch or tote bag and a pair of fancy slippers or gladiator sandals.

We have seen ways we can style our mini, midi and maxi tulle skirts. Some of them are styled super glam, others looks edgy and sexy but one thing unites them all and its the tulle fabric.

Nancy Isime's dress sense is one to reckon with. She has a special way of killing every outfit she wears. Seeing her in a 3pcs all white outfit styled by @medlinboss reminds me of how much I love white and I've always wanted to own an am white outfit.

Taking a closer look at the picture,we could clearly see her confidence from her posture and then her make-up by @bimpeonakoya which is very simple but on point and even matches her skin tone; her choice earrings is just the perfect size and also compliments her suit by @otafo.official because of the silver embellishments; her suit and camisole has a unique and same feature, the silver embellishments which added to the originality of the look and of course the palazzo pant gave yet the much needed BossLady look. We would not fail to mention her signature haircut which has always added its own spice to each of her looks and this look is not an exemption.
