you guys act like jack and janet were beating up a kid and locking him in a closet. yes, there was emotional neglect, and there's A LOT you can do with that for angst. people always overlook emotional abuse because it's "more tragic" to write physical abuse. as if tim's life wasn't tragic enough.

TBH I’m pretty sure the reason a lot of people consider Diana boring is because DC continuously wants her to be like. the most recognizeable female character and she has to be like (the marketing version of) empowered and feminist ™ but also nonthreatening and sexually desirable to men

Tim and dick have different brands of foot in mouth disease because tim is genuinely clueless and self centered when he says stuff like "your parents death was the most traumatizing thing to happen to me" or complains about how hard it is to lie to your parents to orphans, but dick is 100 percent aware of what he's doing when he says stuff like "you think your dad would put up with you like I do" and throws accessibility or lack thereof in people's faces or brings up Roy's past addiction in arguments, he just CHOOSES to say that

they're like 'x male character is female coded b/c he's victimized' and 'its important to talk about x male character's SA b/c if he were a female character fandom would take it more seriously' and then they literally never think about female characters or care about them at all.

Not going to lie gang, it's getting depressing seeing male characters being described as female-coded because of violence and abuse done to them. How about female-coded because they are smart, or active, or brave, or strong, or ambitious- or just because it's fun and they have T-girl swag???

damian’s abandonment issues should be talked about more. like theres so many moments that he really shows that he’s terrified of being left. this is also why i think he should be more mad about jon leaving like he should realistically had been fuming

There are so many Dick, Bruce, or Tim kills the Joker fics on AO3, meanwhile Barbara was the one talking about how The Joker should be the exception to the No Kill Rule years before Red Hood Jason even existed.
