I haven’t read real, published books in a while and I am shocked how much they are similar / the same / or even worse than fanfiction they are. 

In my head I made them out to be on another level but they are just not. Especially if you read a digital version. There is no obvious difference to fanfiction at all, and I just want to formally thank every fanfiction author out there for the level of detail and all of the hard work they put into their work. Work they just publish for everyone in the world with internet to read for free.
