update —
hello! for anyone who might still be waiting to here, i wanted to update that a new roleplay is still being worked on. sudden offline occurrences made it impossible for me to get anything opened this month on schedule or really even be in the headspace to update everyone here with what was going on. i am now aiming for an opening in the first half of july, as soon as i’m sure offline situations won’t affect my ability to be a fully present admin for the opening.
the present plan is for the new roleplay to be set in the broader celebrity industry within seoul, including idols but also other celebrity occupations (soloists, actors, models, variety stars, etc.) as muse’s primary occupation(s). the aim remains for a collaborative and pretty open-ended universe with a fairly uncomplicated career development system and flexibility for muses to pursue various stories and plotlines within the framework of the roleplay.
thanks again to everyone reading this for your time, patience, and understanding, whether the new roleplay is something of interest to you or not.

Reminder that the quick poll is still set to close at 11:59pm EDT tonight, which is a little over fourteen hours from this post.
I did receive a question through the form, so I’ll be answering that under the cut for that person as well as anyone else who might be wondering!
if the new famed rp settled on a zoomed-in scope (idol-centric), are muses still allowed to venture into other entertainment aspect areas as some have already been doing through point claims? For example, a lead vocal muse pursuing an acting career or modeling or dipping into hosting/variety? Or would they strictly be confined to activities as an idol?
They’d be able to still pursue other activities on the side! Though I’m referring to the idol-centric version as ‘zoomed in’, it’s actually more ‘zoomed out’ in comparison to the current iteration of Famed. There would be plenty of possibilities to pursue other areas and, because there would be soloists and some groups that are less active with comebacks, there would be certain positions within the group that have a lot more freedom to prioritize outside endeavors if they want to. Being an idol will still be the most prioritized career path, though, and the connecting factor for many events, opportunities, etc.
Or if the new rp settled on a zoomed-out scope (celebrity-centric), are muses allowed to have been former idols that have transitioned into a celebrity-centric occupation such as becoming an actor/actress, pursuing a solo career, became an internet personality/youtuber, etc.?
Definitely! There may be a canon spot or two within the set idol groups that would be muses who left those groups and pursued other careers, but any muse could be an ex-idol; just not from one of the canon groups if they’re not taking a set spot for that.
Muses would have room to have really any career history to lead to the point where they are, whether that’s a former child actor turned idol turned soloist, a former athlete turned model after retiring from sports, a former professional dancer who went on something like Street Woman Fighter and then debuted as a soloist, or even someone who retains several different career paths (for instance, someone who actively works as a model-actor-personality or an idol-soloist-producer). Likewise, they’d be able to transition into a different career in the future if they wanted, such as a muse starting the roleplay off as a soloist and TV personality, but then the mun decides they want to go down an actor path, either in addition to or instead of their soloist/personality path.

Thank you again to everyone for their help via participating in the poll. During the duration of the poll, it was clear there was the least interest in keeping everything the same with minor changes, so Famed as it currently stands is considered closed. I’ve decided the new system will be opening under a new name on a new blog, regardless of exactly which of the other two choices ends up being the final form.
The options for a more open-ended idol-centric roleplay and a wider multi-occupation entertainment roleplay were pretty neck-in-neck for the length of the poll. Unfortunately, there was also no one option every current member agreed on having interest in, which does make the final decision a bit more difficult since I don’t want to alienate anyone currently a part of the group with my choice.
I’ve been drafting pages and mechanisms for both options for the last couple of days since it was apparent they were the top choices. I’ll be spending a few more days doing this before making a final decision on what will happen going forward. In the meantime, I wanted to run one more quickfire poll with two purposes: 1) to collect feedback on some changes to mechanisms / features being considered and 2) to serve as a second analysis of interest between two remaining options.
FEATURES / MECHANISM FEEDBACK
The following are some of the more major feature / mechanism updates being considered with explanations. The poll will ask you to rate your thoughts on each between 1 and 5 (1 being against and 5 being in favor of).
This features are ones that would apply to either option, which is why they’re mostly idol-centric features.
Mun-involved comebacks for idol groups
This feature would allow muns to have more involvement in choosing the comebacks for their muse’s groups. There would still be admin involvement to parse through options to help keep concepts consistent and distinct from other groups, but muns may be able to have a say in when exactly a group comes back, what song(s) they come back with, and how the comeback is received.
The muns involved in any particular comeback would be the muns of muses in that group who would get to vote on certain aspects such as concept / title track / etc. and muns of muses who produce music, who would be able to submit songs that could potentially be produced by their muse to be taken into consideration for future comebacks.
Mun-submitted mini-events
While larger, full scale events would take place, muns would be able to submit events relevant to or hosted by their muse that would take place in the gaps between larger events. These could be things like album release parties, brand launches, birthday parties, etc. There would be time slots (like no more than one each month) so that these didn’t get too overwhelming, but it would lay the groundwork for more spaces for interactions without having to have constant large scale events that might prevent more casual interactions.
Flexible leader / maknae roles
This one’s pretty simple. Each group has to have a leader and a maknae, but these positions can be reserved with any existing position instead of being assigned to a specific one.
No strict model discography groups
Groups would still, of course, have a list of songs that they’ve released that would be real-life songs, but these wouldn’t be limited to a couple of assigned groups. For instance, a group with a more girl crush-leaning concept might release two songs from Blackpink, a song by (G)I-DLE, a song by Mamamoo, two songs by Everglow, a song by Itzy, etc.
This would make groups more centered around concepts than exact model discography groups. The main reasoning for this would be flexibility and to aid the possibility of mun-involved comebacks mentioned earlier, and it would also mean less affect on a group if a song has to be removed from their discography for some reason.
This would also mean, though, that there would be no direct line distributions in the sense of main vocal gets all of Taeyeon’s lines, main dancer gets all of Hyoyeon’s lines, etc. since I can’t make group positions align well with every possible group they might one day release a song from. I’d be happy to create exact line distributions for each present-time release as it comes out based on positions, though, so muses still know what they’re singing / rapping.
TWO REMAINING OPTIONS
As I have begun to work on pages and mechanics for the remaining two options, I have found they end up actually being pretty similar. Both have the goal of a more collaborative, open-ended world with fewer developmental / creative limitations, so I wanted to make what I see to be the main difference clear.
The biggest difference just comes down to what I consider the scale of ‘zoom’ of the world they exist in. The idol-centric version is more “zoomed in” to idols. The broader scale, entertainment industry one is “zoomed out” from the idol subset to a world that also includes types such as actors, models, non-idol recording artists, etc. The zoomed-in version would focus on the idol divisions two or three companies with seven to nine idol groups across them and a few solo spots. The zoomed-out version would focus on three to four entertainment companies and five to six career paths (idol groups, soloist, actor, model, personality, etc.). The number of playable, preset idol groups would be around five to seven. This version would be meant to have potential to be larger in roleplay size.
The question asking for opinion between the two remaining options on a scale of one to five. For these purposes, please take each answer as the following:
1: From what has been shared, I would only be interested in joining the idol-centric zoomed-in version.
2: From what has been shared, I would be most interested in joining the idol-centric zoomed-in version, but I may consider the broader scope, zoomed-out version.
3: From what has been shared, I would be interested in joining both the idol-centric zoomed-in version and the broader scope, zoomed-out version.
4: From what has been shared, I would be most interested in joining the broader scope, zoomed-out version, but I may consider idol-centric zoomed-in version.
5: From what has been shared, I would only be interested in joining the broader scope, zoomed-out version.
POLL DEADLINE
The poll can be found HERE.
This is a quickfire poll, so I’m planning to close it end of the day EDT on Sunday. My plan is to have a final answer / decision for everyone and the new blog ready for applications out within a few days of that.
Thanks again to everyone for your patience!

I’ll be closing the poll at 11:59pm EDT on Wednesday, May 24. This gives everyone about forty-six more hours if they haven’t gotten their votes in. Thank you to everyone who’s voted!
Tumblr media
Hello, everyone! An event was supposed to go up this week, but before everyone was thrown into that, I felt it might be more pertinent to run an interest check. Activity has been rather slow as of late and I know the group has been rather small for several months now and new applications coming in has petered out. That said, I would love nothing more than to be able to keep writing with everyone within this universe created here as much as possible, so I’ve gathered a few options to see what everyone who would be interested in / inspired by moving forward for the future of the roleplay. Please see the poll you may vote in as well as the poll options below the cut!
(Continued activity is welcomed during this time, as the default future will be considered the first option until poll results are in!)

Please see the poll you may vote in as well as the poll options below the cut!
(Continued activity is welcomed during this time, as the default future will be considered the first option until poll results are in!)
The following options are phrased as they are in the poll.
I would be interested in being an active member of Famed if it were to remain the same*.
In this context, ‘the same’ would be more in the sense of the larger idea of the roleplay and many of its major mechanics running the same. If this option were to be the most popular, I would take it that perhaps there are some more minor areas (frequency of events, certain rules, more minor details about how the roleplay operates) that could be updated or fixed to increase interest and I would run a follow-up feedback poll following the results of the interest check poll to gauge what these might be.
As this option doesn’t involve a huge overhauling of the roleplay, activity would just continue as usual following the conclusion of the interest check poll while I received opinions from the follow-up feedback poll.
I would be interested in being an active member of Famed if it were to be revamped as a still primarily idol-based, but more open-ended / laissez-faire roleplay.
In comparison to the previous option, this option would keep Famed, but with some more major changes to how it runs as a roleplay and the details in the universe. Again, I would probably run a feedback poll, though this would have a lot more focus on what major changes people might be okay with seeing / want to see.
This could result in several different changes — some changes to the types of positions available, perhaps. Instead of all groups having relatively equal schedules / comebacks as group, there might be some senior groups that comeback on a significantly slower basis, where muses would have a lot of room to shape their muses separately from idoldom; rookie groups that are very active as a group with frequent comebacks; and groups across the seniority spectrum that are somewhere in between with comeback frequency. The claims system may change majorly to something that is less overly-involved, as I know it’s become quite a lot to take in over the years. It could perhaps become less points-based. It could also result in a soft re-launch where the roleplay itself “starts fresh” in a sense of wiping established background and starting over in some aspects to make it easier for newer members to integrate into the world.
Honestly, the main goal of this would be to make the roleplay a bit more ‘laissez-faire’, or rather, with the dual goals of allowing more muse / mun flexibility outside of the current boxes and requiring less admin micromanaging as the current systems can lead to a bit of admin burnout and I suspect may sometimes contribute to player burnout. The aim would be a more collaborative feeling of muses affecting the universe / roleplay more and vice versa, instead of it being more heavy-handed one way.
This would be somewhat similar to the restructuring Famed went through in 2021 as to level of general change, but potentially with some larger scale changes to the mechanics of the roleplay. As such, this may see a brief period of closure as systems are overhauled. It may or may not require muse applications to be resubmitted depending on which changes take place, though, like in 2021, current members would get a designated period to send these in before applications are opened to everyone.
I would be interested in being an active member of a roleplay based in the South Korean entertainment industry that casts a larger net with playable occupations of actors, models, television personalities, solo artists, etc. in addition to a select handful of idol groups.
This would involve several of the overhauls of the previous option, but would have the added aspect of expanding the focus of the roleplay to allow more fluidity in development in regards to things like career.
The core focuses of celebrity, media, image, etc. would remain present, but the core focus Famed currently has on the idol system would shrink to only one option / facet with a handful of active and semi-active idol group spots available as canons / subplots. The main driver here would be more flexibility and options to the paths muses take. The aim would be for any reasonable ‘celebrity’ type path to be allowed, whether it’s idol group member, soloist, actor, model, celebrity chef, athlete, etc. No one would really be locked into their career path — an established singer can become an actor, either concurrently or leave singing behind entirely. Another muse could have left their idol group to go solo. A dancer could become a famous television personality and model. Overall, the focus would just be on celebrity life within the scope of the Korean entertainment industry (and the unique and non-unique factors that play into that) as opposed to the more zoomed-in microcosm of only idol group members.
The career and development systems in this would be somewhat different from their current forms in Famed, but should be relaxed enough that anyone who wishes to use a version of their current muse should be able to keep any major career and/or development landmarks they want for the new version of their muse (or start fresh with a new muse altogether).
In this case, the roleplay would be more of a spin-off or reboot than a true continuation of Famed as it exists since it would be quite different in scale and mechanics. It would be opened as either a very highly rebranded reboot of Famed, or (more likely) created as a new roleplay under a new name. Current members of Famed would be welcome / encouraged to apply with a version of their muse (be they an idol or otherwise) or a new muse for a new start.
THE POLL
The poll is here. Current members as well as anyone who may be interested in becoming a member under any of these options are welcome to answer. Please be sure to indicate which one you are in the first question. You may choose as many options as you want for the second question; check any you think you might be interested in. You won’t be held to it if it doesn’t work out for you; the poll is anonymous, after all!
Feel free to send any further questions you have about any of these options to the ask box.
The poll is planned to be open for a week. I will make a post at least twenty-four hours before the poll closes.

DEADLINE: june 10, 2023 at 11:59pm edt  / june 11, 2022 at 12:59pm kst
fandom is integral to the essence of fame. without anyone listening or watching, celebrity would have little meaning, for better or for worse. for this round of task prompts, muns will delve into the idea of fans and fandom as they relate to their muse.
these task completions do not count toward any monthly limits and are optional.
PLEASE TAG COMPLETIONS OF THIS TASK WITH #FAMEDTASK13.
FANS & FANDOM QUESTIONNAIRE — answer THIS questionnaire with an answer of at least 75 words per question. this will be worth 5 POINTS.
FAN COMMUNITY POST — write a post from the perspective of a fan posting to a fan community and submit it to the famedfeed blog to be published. examples of fan community posts can be found HERE and HERE. feel free to make this a general fan hype post, a post related to a recent claim, or a post reflecting your muse’s recent public image. this will be worth 3 POINTS.
FREE CHOICE WRITING — write a solo or headcanon that relates to an interaction (or multiple interactions) your muse has or has had with a fan. this may be positive, negative, neutral, or a mix of feelings and may take place while a muse is on schedule or off (keep in mind muses are contractually supposed to limit non-company-sanctioned interactions with fans, but this doesn’t mean they can’t secretly break that rule to some extent). this will be worth 4 POINTS.
