i was gonna call it self-indulgent nonsense but i am making an effort to change the language i use surrounding my writing. it’s not nonsense! it’s something im working really hard on and really care about and am really excited for! it’s self-indulgent, sure, but who fucking cares? that’s not an insult and it doesn’t make the entire 20k i’ve written nonsense! i’m putting a lot into this project and tbh even if i wasn’t, it still isn’t something i should be degrading with posts like “it’s nonsense” or “this is so stupid sorry” or “i know no one will like this but”. this piece is motherfucking genius because i wrote it and no one else! so there!

if asked to describe my nanowrimo work this month i would say it is the most self-indulgent piece of genius that i have ever conceptualized, much less written. you should ask more about it.

#april nano 2024 #i want to talk abt it so bad #i’m still figuring things out a bit but i’m going crazy abt it #there’s some character stuff im working out but most of the plot is solidly broken down and ready for writing #might add kageyama in ??? i think it could be an interesting canon parallel but i’m not sure how to fit him in w/o erasing daichi’s role #and ofc if i’m adding kageyama i gotta put hinata in there as his co pilot. obviously. i don’t have a choice in that one.

sakusa is not letting a needle dipped in ink anywhere even CLOSE to his body. atsumu thinks tattoos are sick (he is in awe of iwaizumi's tattoo). he and osamu tried to give each other stick n pokes in high school but atsumu almost wailed at the first poke and they gave up. he has not tried again since.

getting another tattoo soon and it. got me thinking. so now i have to make everyone else think with me. i think iwaizumi has a big tattoo on his upper right arm, kind of curling up over his shoulder. it's of two snakes intertwined and knotted, both wrapped around a sword. it's close to a caduceus but a little more intricate. it took two sessions and he's incredibly proud of it.

he is less proud of the stick n poke on his thigh that his college roommate gave him. it is of a volleyball. not his finest college decision, he can admit that, but he had just flunked an exam and it seemed like a good idea at the time. it was maybe not. at least one lesson was learned.

oikawa does not have any. they're fine, for other people. he wrinkles his nose a bit at some of his teammates' more cliche tattoos. but he respects iwaizumi's tattoo (he does not know about the stick n poke). everything about respect being said, though, he's still the last remaining line of defense between iwaizumi and a godzilla tattoo.
