1. “Anxious People” by Fedrik Backman: Fedrik Backman is my favourite author. Each time I pick up his book, I have this feeling that may be I will be disappointed this time but he hasn’t ever given me that chance. “Anxious People” is a story of eight anxious strangers who come together as a result of a bank robber’s plan gone terribly wrong. Have you ever heard of people demanding pizza and fire crackers when held hostage instead of just being let go? The book touches themes of anxiety, parenting, human idiocy and above all the struggle of being a human. Suddenly, one day, everyone starts treating you a grown up expecting you to act mature but in reality you never know what a grown up is actually supposed to do. Read Fedrik Backman’s books because no one has understood human relationships so well. Why read? If you love human relationships or want to have a laugh or just want to know that it is okay to fail as a parent. Why ignore? I frankly don’t have a reason!! This one is the best of my April lot. “But when you get home this evening, when this day is over and the night takes us, allow yourself a deep breath. Because we made through this day as well. There’ll be another one along tomorrow.” 2. “Dear Mrs Bird” by AJ Pearce Set in the times of IInd World War, this book is a beautiful story of love, friendship, resilience, empathy and support. The protagonist, Emmy who wants to be a Lady War Correspondent ends up being a typist for Women’s Friend Magazine Problem page - “Henritta Helps”. It is a story of how when things go wrong around us, we desperately want to help either because we want to feel our existence less burdensome or may be the hope that our sheer good luck might help someone out of their ill luck. In times of crisis, all you need is people who love you. And sometimes when you don’t have them, kindness or just reassurances from strangers will also do wonders. I read this book because the anxiety due to the pandemic was becoming overwhelming for me. Why read? Will lift your spirits if you are in crisis. This book will give you strength. Why ignore? Just read it. In times like this, all we need is hope. Continued in comments! https://www.instagram.com/p/CO2hqdTgGWP/?igshid=hhyw0px34qh5

How difficult it is to be our authentic self? While the society sets standards of what is “normal”, we are fighting against our true self trying to be someone we can never be - It is like fighting against nature. And after a stage of faking around, it becomes so difficult to become your true self - the change seems so daunting. #thebigleap #qotd #quotes #quotestagram #bookstagram #books #writing #authenticity #selfesteem #validation #change #you https://www.instagram.com/p/COzWmqsAZrl/?igshid=1pk0z317t1sxq

It is always the little things that matter. A morning walk, coffee date with friends, dance in the rain - it is all these that matter. And in times like these, the realization dawns even more harshly. I wish life would go back to the "old" normal soon.
