…I can’t stop hearing that one line in The Confrontation from Les Mis as “there is power in miette” which makes the whole song much funnier than it should be

i’m back again with more silly little thoughts. ok look if it turned out that stupid smile on ted’s face in ep5 was because he got a text from trent—just. imagine. they’re kinda starting up a thing but it’s hesitant and secret because of their jobs (conflict of interest for trent), because of ted’s anxiety (depression?) and recent divorce, maaaybe because trent is the first guy ted ever dated. but how did it happen? did trent stay after a press conference because ted called him out for one of his questions? when was their first kiss? where?? how did it happen?? i’m gonna fucking write it
So I watched Ted Lasso 2.06
And I want to put down my predictions somewhere so that if I turn out to be right, I can be an unremitting dickhead about how I was right neener neener.
I think Sam and Rebecca are going to have an actual relationship. I think there are profound problems in terms of the owner dating a player, and that they'll figure out a solution to that. I do not think the age gap (which is exponentially less than the age gap between, say, Rupert and Bex) will ever be seriously addressed because it's not a serious problem. I don't have any predictions as to whether it will be endgame, but they clearly have a pretty romantic connection already, so it wouldn't make sense not to explore that.
I think (and this is 100% just me HOPING, obviously) that Ted's going to turn out to be messaging with Trent. I don't have anything to base that on other than that I ship it and it would be great.
I think they're going to lose the FA cup.
I think they're going to get promoted, probably via the playoffs.
I think Nate's going to either leave the team and go elsewhere to coach, or get actively headhunted by another team and leave with an offer. I think he'll be out for the rest of the season and into the third, but will reconcile with Ted and the other coaches sometime in Season 3.
I think Season 2 is going to end with Ted having to decide if he'll stay in the UK or go home and be with his son. I don't have any idea what he'll pick - yes I know they have a third season to shoot, but I think the chances are good that the season ends with him getting on a plane back to Kansas.
ETA: I think there's a very very outside chance that Beard and Ted get together, based solely on Keeley's offhand remark about how Jane once followed her home to ask if Beard and Ted were sleeping together. JUST SAYING. PUTTING IT OUT THERE INTO THE UNIVERSE.

what she says: i’m fine
what she means: ted asks trent, “what do you love? is it writin’?” and trent says, “yes.” and then ted says, “well, good, ‘cuz you’re darn good at it,” implying that ted has read at least one of trent crimm’s articles. from this we can reasonably infer that after rebecca warned him about the one-on-one, ted went to town doing research on trent to figure this man out so as to better “dip him in milk”

please please please, folks graduating from high school right now, TAKE A GAP YEAR IF YOU’RE NOT SURE ABOUT COLLEGE. putting yourself in thousands of dollars worth of debt for an experience and a degree you’re not sure you want is NOT worth it. i know so many people who got a year/a semester/two years into their programs and realized they never truly wanted to do it, that college was just what everyone was doing and they were following the pattern. i don’t regret my choices because regret is a waste of time and I’m happy with how everything turned out for me, but i’m telling you now, carefully consider your true motivation for going to college. and if you’re not sure, take a gap year. work. use the money from working and travel. hitchhike. float around like an amoeba. take a moment to experience the world without school before you sign up for another four years. i promise you, you have no idea who you are yet, and you probably won’t find out for a while. just let yourself exist without working tirelessly toward a goal.
