louder than words
He laughs, and the softness of it melts into her bones and cools like lava on her heart. She has come to realise that he never laughs like this around other people—around their friends, their guild. She only hears this laugh when it's the two of them and Happy.
"What do you have to be embarrassed about, silly?" His mouth quirks into a half grin. There's something about the gentleness in his eyes that makes her feel, despite herself, like this expression is different, somehow. Like it's private. Like it's made for her. "It's just me."
Her heart bursts into bloom. A bouquet of flowers spurts forward in her chest. "Yeah. I know."
Lucy finally gets herself together and attempts to show Natsu how she feels. It's... not all smooth-sailing, to say the least.

natsu who manhandles lucy. gripping her hips to steady her when she loses balance, grabbing her by the waist to move her out of the way, a hand on the small of her back to guide her through a crowd.

this post still gets notes so here u go a lil treat idk if i’ll ever finish it but maybe posting it will make me wanna write more
natsu and lucy sparring post-war at the guild gym and they kinda gather an audience cause of how long they’ve been fighting. lucy’s hair is out of her ponytail and natsu’s bangs are in his eyes. they’ve gotten to the point where they’re playing dirty. consistently taunting each other and absolute foul play. at some point lucy pins natsu on his back with his hands above his head and natsu fuckin headbutts her to get outta it. there are faint scales around natsu’s eyes, the room feels like it’s 90 degrees. everytime lucy changes stardress its nearly blinding and it seems like there’s bits of stardust clinging to her.
the tension is fucking palpable. everyone feels it. people are wolf whistling whenever one of them pins the other down. natsu gets lucy in a headlock and whispers something in her ear and erza feels downright scandalized. she considers covering wendy’s poor eyes.

I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
