I post art about things that I'm interested in and OCs. For only my original world and stories lost-locket-antiques.tumblr.com is the place to go! Christ is King
the creators struggle of "yes I absolutely made this for myself and I should absolutely appreciate that I made this thing that turned out amazing and be proud of it on that merit alone" vs "man it'd be cool if everyone liked this thing I made as much as I do"
Oh wait, no, I know why this happens. It's cause I find the male form appealing, it's one of the reasons I have a lot more designs for them than I do women, hell, I'd even consider myself a lot more visual than most women (at least from what I've noticed, I could be wrong). And male clothing doesn't show off their form at all. At best, it's a suit, and at worst it's a speedo, but what clothing is specifically designed to show off the human form?
Dresses. And if done right, it can be quite flattering.
What that says about me, I have no clue, but it might be something I need to think about.
I want fantasy and period piece shows and movie made for adults that don't have brothel scenes like that. Like, either show it for what it is with no titillation or don't show it at all. So sick of brothel scenes. If you can't get men to watch your shows otherwise, then cater to women or have more fight scenes idk. Just enough is enough. We can't get out of the fucking brothel.
Unstoppable Force (my love of seeing other people's takes/stylization on my OCs) vs Immovable Object (my gripping fear of not doing other people's OCs enough justice when I draw them)
Okay but there is a reason that we as people go absolutely feral for redemption stories and narratives that end with the person who was in the wrong confessing their faults and their loved one - be it romantic, familial, or what have you - forgiving them and saying, "Forget it, I'm here with you now and I'll be with you until the end."
My dudes that is the GOSPEL. WE ALL LONG FOR THE GOSPEL.
not to be pretentious, but a lot of stuff you guys complain is being ruined by capitalism/the algorithm/whatever can be solved by consuming something else than the most basic mainstream stuff that's thrown in your lap. "songs nowadays are getting shorter to fit entire tiktoks and it's ruining music" have you tried listening to something else than Spotify's Top 100 my dude? "fanfiction-to-publishing pipeline is churning out mediocre books and it's ruining literature" have you tried reading something outside the NYT bestseller list my dude? This is not a post about how algorithm based industries give visibility to the lowest common denominator art at the expense of actually creative and meaningful art that struggles to make itself known, which is a valid discussion for another time, this is about people actively not giving this kind of art their visibility because they won't get out of their way to discover stuff outside the mainstream radar and prefer to be passively fed what to consume while bitching that is not up to their tastes.
