I'm in Seattle right now, but had the great opportunity to be part of the architecture team to help set up the New York Store for @palaceskateboards located at 49 Howard St, SOHO // We started this project in Fall 2016, and now we're excited to finally unveil the opening of their respective store. Happy Birthday today to the homie @ossianmendoza !! Last year we had an epic birthday karaoke night for this guy in deep Brooklyn with close friends. We left the spot after and got into a random white van whom we thought was our uber driver and he attempted to drive us all the way to Long Island City (and possibly kidnap us). By 4am we're finally back home in Bedstuy and my nose had stopped bleeding by then. Thanks dude for navigating us back to the apt while vomiting out the car window while swerving on the freeway. Shoutout out to JetBlue for have excellent customer service. And just in case I have ginger ale with me. But I'm about to board my flight for Seattle soon, but just wanted to say I was humbled to help @anakbayanny and many other organizations with May Day yesterday at Union Square and to see thousands of people pour into the rallies and march for workers' rights and to importantly demonstrate the power and voice of the working class, black and brown folks, women and LGBTQ communities. Overall, it was well organized and peaceful, and we were able to deescalate situations which involved trump supporters heckling the speakers and eventually drinking Pepsi. Unfortunately the police were aggressive again at the end, which is pretty evident in all marches and rallies since Trump was elected. I saw a kasama and a few other people get arrested right in front of me but I couldn't do anything because the police tried to chase after me and so I ran and disappeared into the crowds clutching my camera gear. But I'm thankful everyone is safe. It's been a crazy couple of weeks but look forward to kicking it with a few homies this week back in Seattle. #TakeBackOurEducation #PowertothePeople #MayDay2017

Last night was supposed to be a nonviolent rally, but the police kept antagonizing the protestors and eventually arrested and injured four people from our group. Everyone was released after midnight and we are all relieved. But for real though, The U.S. dropping bombs in Syria because they have "chemical weapons of mass destruction" will eventually lead to a war based on lies and loss of innocent lives. I was only 11 years old when Bush declared War on Terror in Iraq. 14 years later and another major war is brewing - déjà vu much? Now I'm a grown ass adult and I care and will stand in solidarity for the black and brown folks, working class, indigenous, and oppressed groups.
