just found out a lot of people don't consider 18-19 year olds to be "teenagers" and that "teens" are reserved for 13-17 year olds. deeply upset and perturbed by this information

the thing cats have with not understanding two doors going to the same place, i'm pretty sure i have that. like take me into a building through one door and out a DIFFERENT door and i am completely disoriented. not a hope for the right direction i'm gone.

sometimes i’ll sit in the car for ages executive-dysfunctioning and the best way to snap out of this i’ve found is turning off the car and letting yourself heat up in the sun until it’s unbearable. genuinely have to tom-and-jerry smoke myself out of hiding in the car

as someone with adhd i've always thought it was stupid when people with adhd were like "haha im so smart at stuff but bad at life1! my intelligence is so good but ive been nerfed!1! people with adhd are the smartest but most silly!1!!1"
you aren't smarter or more intelligent than other people. you just think differently, so sometimes you might find yourself more inclined to an academic skill/a skill you find interesting, as opposed to an organizational or life-skill ability.
Being good at organizing your house, space, and life is a SKILL and people who work on those end up with well-honed abilities. Those who are more talented in life skills than the projects you find interesting are not less intelligent--they're just as smart, but using their brain on something different.

this is going to sound made up but in my high school creative writing class we each wrote screenplays and this one White Guy who was a self-proclaimed art cinema fan or whatever like the epitome of your pretentious male author wrote this really boring play about one old white guy meeting a younger white guy and having Deep Conversations about war and stardom and bitches or whatever despite being literally seventeen and.
During our workshop my entire group and i just discussed the homoerotic subtext of the play and insisted on how the sexual tension was what actually brought interest to the work and White Guy ended up agreeing with us and making it a gay love story. So anyway that's how my english table solved homophobia forever and ever and i'm free for most of the year to receive my nobel peace prize. thank you

started worrying about "man between contacts and vaccinations and mental health medication is it ME who is the dystopian villager reliant on Big Tech for my whole body" but then i remembered my ancestors and those before me Wanted to improve the lives of those coming later and im not "hiding" from my "natural state of being"--sick from shoveling dirt in my mouth, constipated and blind--im simply being helped by the people before and around me.

youtuber schnee breaks down the importance of gender in arcane really well but. each of these characters' genders do well to subvert / acknowledge stereotypes in media in a very intentional way (vi is a fighter / protector which is typically masculine but she is clearly a woman fulfilling that role, jinx is the manic pixie dream girl as a victim and not a love interest, jayce is a very typical hero fighter who maintains masculinity after showing weakness and vulnerability to mel, ekko is a feminine-appearing character who also maintains his masculinity after appearing vulnerable emotionally) so it's honestly a little detrimental to the strength of these characters to head canon them as having different genders bc they fit certain stereotypes differently or look a certain way.
the whole point is that Vi is a reckless, punch-things protector learning to take care of her family and she is a WOMAN doing that. jinx is crazy and a villain and she is a WOMAN wreaking havoc with style. ekko appears soft and he has his emotional vulnerability and he is a MAN showing weakness because men are allowed to cry without being emasculated. i love arcane so so much because it's characters are PEOPLE first and their gender bend to change how they act as characters with the motivations they were given.
