And we’re pulling out all the stops this year with not one but TWO amazing local food vendors and TWO extremely talented local artists, ONE MASSIVE SALE, give-a-ways, your favorite cosplayers & characters and a few surprises!

With over 40 different titles from almost a dozen or more different publishers to choose from, the free comics are by far the most attractive part of the day. Come by early to grab some of your favorites or take the opportunity to try out a new title or publisher that you’ve been meaning to dive into! This year’s theme is Cookies, Comics & the Force - Star Wars inspired cookies based on various Star Wars characters like [COMING SOON], [COMING SOON] and more! Each cookie will be individually wrapped or in a sampler box, available for purchase directly from Jenny herself!

And what would Free Comic Book Day be without beautiful art from local artists? Local legends and up-and-coming artists Ava Schrager and Paul Belliveau are going to be here sketching for customers on blank cover comics and more! Got a favorite character? Or maybe an idea of a mash-up like Winnie the Pooh crossed over with Spawn? Or a motorcycle-riding Ariel the Little Mermaid? Or how about a group of 6 or 7 chipmunks all fighting it out with lightsabers? Just talk to Ava and Paul! They’ll make it work and, most importantly, they’ll make it look SPECTACULAR on a blank cover comic!

And stick around because we’ve got give-a-ways for kids like stickers, lollipops and more. We’ll have exclusive FCBD stuff like Funko POP Vinyl X-Men #1 Comic Covers featuring Gambit, Spider-Man 2099 tin lunchboxes, Deadpool fleece blankets, Doop and Sentinel plushes and the highly-coveted Invincible Omni-Man vs Invincible Funko POP Moment figure. We’ll also have dozens of cosplayers throughout the day and you can see the likes of who have shown up in the past! Come by and sing your cares away with us on April 13 from 7pm to 10pm.

Dig out that winter cosplay! Your summer cosplay! Don’t get dressed up at all! Rock your civvies! We don’t care as long as you’re dressed…and ready to SING YOUR HEART OUT!

Or just feel free to help hold the wall up and listen to come legendary vocalists! And by legendary we mean some of the best and worst we have to offer!

But there will also be unforgettable fun, music, prizes, and shenanigans galore! Plus, you'll have a chance to check out East Side's amazing comics and collectibles!

The legacy continues as we go for the record and host every member of the Frank family that will have us!

Meet Skye Frank aka Royal Skye! Daughter of the Dragon himself - Jason David Frank aka Tommy Oliver aka the OG Green Ranger - and up and coming hip hop aritst!

We’re honored to host Skye, in memory of her father, and can’t wait for you to meet her too! She’s super talented, super nice and super stoked to meet you too!

The signing starts at 2pm and she’ll hang until the last fan standing - just like her old man did when he was here.

She’ll have prints, holograms, t-shirts and more to sign. We’ll also have prints, pins and mini-mates figures of the Green Ranger that JDF signed when he was here that you can have Skye sign as well!

ComicBooks for Kids Weekend!

East Side Mags is proud to announce our new partnership with ComicBooks for Kids out of Saint Charles, IL!

This weekend is their big fundraising/awareness weekend and we’re stoked to be a part of it.

About the organization: ComicBooks For Kids! (CB4K.ORG ) Incorporated in the state of Illinois, is the largest 501(C)3 charity in North America and the UK for comic books and pop culture items to children in hospitals and cancer centers. They support over 200 hospitals, orphanages and other social organizations in all 50 states to all demographics and to all provinces in Canada. The number of hospitals they support increases every month. They are a free service to all of these hospitals and a partial list of those they support can be found here. https://www.comicbooksforkids.org/medicalfacilities They do this full time, every day of the week. As mentioned above, their sister charity, ComicBooks For Troops provided over 100,000 comic books and graphic novels last year becoming the largest charity in our industry to all branches of the military for these items.

Come by and shop with us between March 1-3 and we’ll donate 10% of our proceeds to CB4K! The more you spend, the more we donate!

PLUS: You can also bring in comics, graphic novels, toys, plushes and more to donate and we can ship those items to CB4K along with our monetary donation!
