Electronic Scrap Book
When I was a kid, if something we did wound it’s way up in the newspaper, someone usually clipped it out for me and I could save it in a scrap book. Now that “print is dead” (Spengler, 1984), I thought I’d try to capture some of my kids’ moments from the internet and put them here on the family blog so that they have it as a reference and we can go back to it. Also, it’s nice because we can share…

Existential crisis
The embedded video perfectly explains how I’ve been feeling lately. I came across it during my doom scrolling and thought it was worth a share. Key takeaway: you’re not alone. Knowing that I’m not the only person who feels alone, sad, depressed, disconnected, etc. makes life, the universe, and everything seem just a bit brighter. One would think that after all this time the lesson would stick,…

Proud papa
We’re so proud of our daughter, Sarah. She competed in her first dance competition today and took home a Platinum trophy and a Gold Elite trophy! Actually, she was the only performer to bring home two trophies for one dance! Great job Kiddo! I love watching you perform!

Nice shirt
I received a lot of compliments today about my shirt. It’s just a blue plaid shirt but it was mentioned several times to me that it was a nice shirt. Eventually, I started to think I was missing some sort of joke but the joke is on them. I don’t care. 😆

You’ve got questions, I’ve got answers
What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times? Definitely Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Army of Darkness, and Star Wars. All are great movies from the 80’s that still hold up today and all are incredibly quotable. I think Ghost blusters may be the most quoted movie of all time. Funnily enough, I was talking to someone at work this week and they told me about a…

An odd experience
I ordered syringes for my injections a few days ago and when I got home today there was a message that I needed to call the pharmacy (I use a mail order pharmacy). I called them and did the press one for English thing. Got to a human being in relatively short order, gave the reference number and was told I needed to speak to a pharmacist. She transferred me. A pharmacist comes on the line and…

Thank you
I wanted to say thanks to everyone for reaching out and sending well wishes for my 43rd birthday. It was overwhelming to hear from everyone. I tried to tap the like button for everyone who sent a happy birthday on social media but I may have missed one or two. Thanks again for all for reaching out. It meant a lot to me.

Ten reasons to put down your phone right now. Number eight will shock you!
I was scrolling through Facebook this morning and I noticed that ever second or third post in my news feed was an ad or a promotion of some kind. I thought back to when I first got on social media and it wasn’t like that at all. There were very few ads in the beginning. Now, it’s more likely that you’ll look at ads all day long instead of seeing what you originally signed up for. To see what…
