Next book is a bit different
The next book that I’m going to read is V for Vendetta by Alan Moore 📖
It’s a comic book...book(?)
It has all of the V for Vendetta comic books in one. I absolutely loved the movie so I just had to get this and fortunately I managed to find one in Finland 🥲🖤

If Cats Disappeared From The World
Tumblr media
Huuuuuuuu... I finished my first book in years!! I really enjoyed this book!
I’m constantly looking for short books - not because I’m lazy - but because I think writing a great book that can actually make the reader feel something is easier if the book is long (since you have more time to make the reader care about the characters). This book did that and it only has 202 pages (2 were introduction so technically 200). I had so many emotions while reading this and maybe even shed a tear during the last pages. Honestly I didn’t high expectations for the book and that could make me appreciate it more than someone else might have but I still would recommend this book to everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️
Okay now that we got my personal opinions out of the way we can focus on the ✨book info✨
First of all LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS BOOK COVER IS!!
Tumblr media
ITS SO SHINY!!! (Also dirty but this book has traveled in my bag with me 5+ years so can you blame me?)
I have to admit that I appreciated the book cover soo much more after I read the book and that is probably due to me actually caring about the cat in the end. The pages are thick and the font is pretty big. I really liked that and it truly impumy reading experience.
The book tells about a man who finds out that he only has one day left to live. Luckily the devil shows up in front of him dressed in a brightly coloured Hawaiian shirt and suggests a deal. He will make one thing disappear from the world and in exchange the man gets to have one more day to live. He will do this everyday until the day when the main character decides to die. Of course our desperate MC takes the deal and the first things to disappear are our oh so beloved cellphones..
One thing that I really appreciate about the book is the fact that all the chapters start with a weekday:

In every chapter we are told what day it is, what the devil is going to make disappear and how that affects our main character’s life.
The book really makes you think what things are important in life and how much power one human should have.

These are some of the books that I’ll try to read this summer ;)
If Cats Disappeared From The world ~ Genki Kawamura
Nod ~ Adrian Barnes
Kuinka Olla Piittaamatta Paskaakaan (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck) ~ Mark Manson
Harhaanjohtajat Vahvassa Uskossa ~ Terho Miettinen, Raija Pelli (It’s a finnish book and I don’t think it has been translated into english... but its pretty much a book about cult leaders and how the manipulate)
Perinnöllisyyslääketiede (translated = Medical genetics) ~ (too many writers and this is an old book that I think is used in med school.. Bought it cause I’m interested)
Kirjailija Joka Kadotti Kirjaimet (The Mind’s Eye) ~ Oliver Sacks
The Picture of Dorian Gray ~ Oscar Wilde
+
V for Vendetta ~ Alan Moore
Mies Joka Luuli Vaimoaan Hatuksi (The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat) ~ Oliver Sacks
A lot of books for someone who no longer reads fast :D but I like a bit of a challenge ;) (also I have started 5 of these books years ago so technically I just need to read the rest of those)
