「 ✨ 」 "That's right—-the Queen of Wales! It's only fitting that such a good boy is named after royalty," the spirit cooed, her gaze shifting to the dog before she considered the rest of his human's words. Recognize him...? As though she might with a second chance, she looked back up, squinted, tried to recall if she'd ever seen his face before, or even if the name sounded familiar. Briefly, her face scrunched up in contemplation—-but no, she came up empty, and she relaxed once more.
Well, it wasn't necessarily impossible that she simply forgot about any previous encounters; she'd met a lot of people over the years, and technology in recent decades only expanded how far someone's presence could reach. Every now and then, she overheard lengthy, animated discussions about people that those chatting didn't know personally. People like that had a special name, didn't they?
If Koga was willing to talk to her, though, she may as well just ask. "Would I recognize you from the television? I see those in stores a lot, but I've never owned one myself. They're really cool!"
And big, too big to be considered portable by any measure—-and since she didn't have a home, she couldn't keep anything that she couldn't carry with her wherever she went. Oh, and she didn't have nearly enough money to buy one; she doubted she could even afford an old, broken one.
Tumblr media
"I had a phone once," she continued to ramble, scratching behind Leon's ears, "but I couldn't figure out how to use it. I wonder what happened to it..."
If Leon finds no reason to stray away from someone, Koga's not about to intervene. The corgi might have problems with certain other dogs and people, but in this instance, the pup chose to give her some attention. ( Maybe Leon was drawn to her tendencies for loneliness too, as Koga also once knew that feeling -- Leon's help breaking that loneliness within him at points ). Hands rest against his hips as he watches her pet Leon. Head turns with her hands as long as she continues to pet their head. Butt wiggles with the movement of their small tail while panting in happiness.
To see Leon happy brought its own happiness to Koga while the boy stood there with a small smile upon his face. He planned to simply allow the pets to continue until the small dog got tired, and they move on -- until she begins to talk once more. When she turns her attention back to him, Koga momentarily tenses up -- too late, though.
Too late to hide his happiness -- ah well, she doesn't seem like a fan.
Tumblr media
"Hell yeah! He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi! The best of the best! I might add he's pretty damn good of a herdin' breed. Eh.. not that he has much to herd, but he's still great at findin' stuff!" Though, he wishes when it came to locating things, Leon gave a bit of a heads up... That's a thing of the past. Koga's gotten better at properly keeping an eye on where Leon runs off to.
No harm in acquainting himself with someone Leon likes, he supposes. Not that he desires to make friends, but if Leon gives the ok, then he's ok. "Leon likes ya, so no harm in a bit of introductions, especially since ya ain't someone who recognizes me. The name's Koga. Oogami Koga." No, he won't get upset about not being recognized. He's not like a certain someone else, after all.

♔ 「 @mythlived asked : [ UP ]: sender extends a hand to the fallen receiver to help them to their feet after a fight/sparring match 。 」
Tumblr media
🩸 ❞ Paralysis had more than its fair share of downsides. Being able to puppeteer herself had plenty of perks, such as being able to evade attacks in ways her body wouldn't move otherwise, but it also led to an overreliance on her ability—-in the most literal sense, she could barely function without it; she'd be bedridden with a bad heart, not nearly useful enough to be kept alive ( as she'd been told many times before, her sole value came from being a weapon ).
Though tired from a recent mission, Yume had previously agreed to spar with Rhys this afternoon, and she couldn't take a rain check after calling him a coward so many times. She'd fought ( and killed ) under worse conditions anyway.
It went well for the most part—-the main difference being that she lacked her usual aggression and didn't try to stab him. But then she stumbled while dodging a punch, her ability failing to respond to her command and regain her balance.
Hitting the floor didn't hurt; she barely felt it at all. Not on a physical level, at least. Yume gritted her teeth as she sat up and grumbled curses under her breath—-and when Rhys held out a hand, that only rubbed salt in her wounds.
Tumblr media
With a frustrated huff, she smacked his hand away. She didn't need the help, damn it.

♔ 「 @mythlived asked : [ HOLE IN ONE ]: the sender and receiver find a nearby mini-golf course and decide to play a few holes together 。 」
Tumblr media
♗ ❞ When the subject of mini-golf came up in a random conversation, Les immediately suggested that as their next date—-knowing full well that it might sound absurd coming from him. But it wouldn't be the first time he played since losing most of his sight, and he had beaten his mother at the game; he just required some extra steps, such as to have the layout of each hole explained to him. That, and a little clairvoyance didn't hurt ( despite his usual hesitation to cheat, yet with the possibility of physical danger, he made an exception ).
He planned the activity for the slowest time of the week, when they should have the course more or less to themselves, since he didn't want to inconvenience anyone else by being slow—-and there'd be fewer targets that a wayward ball could strike.
To his surprise, Caius turned out to be a better mini-golfer than expected. Maybe Les shouldn't have doubted him, though it just seemed like an activity the elder would typically partake in.
And despite not exactly making par, Les liked to think he put up a decent fight.
Tumblr media
"What do you think?" he asked as they meandered to the final hole, a pleased smile on his lips. "Could I beat Hoshi?"

「 ☾ 」 Celeste felt the same way about the Pretty Patties she made once upon a time, even if no one else appreciated them as much as she herself did—-some people just had bad taste, though, so she probably shouldn't hold that against them... much. She still did, even if just a little, because they deserved to be judged for it. Nonetheless, the burgers had been delicious, and she enjoyed eating cute food even if it seemed like a waste of beauty and effort—-anything to keep her human emotions alive and thriving.
Modern technology provided many conveniences, and she often debated making more Pretty Patties and preserving them in resin ( like that one guy with the hot dog ).
Tumblr media
"The benefit of sealed wrappers like this," she assured the child, "is that you can keep it without worrying about ants... most of the time, anyway. I think peppermint doesn't go bad? You can always throw it out if it starts sprouting mold or something."

「 ♫ 」 Liable to pick up anything shiny, Kotone wouldn't have minded if she never found an answer—-creating her own may've been interesting, if nothing else; nonetheless, it didn't hurt to ask, especially since she lacked any alternative ideas for conversation. Her eyes widened as she watched the object slink off her hand and onto the ground, and she promptly crouched to inspect it. Easy to see how a child would be entertained by the motion, certainly.
Slow and delicate, the tip of her finger rested against the top coil to guide it up and to the side. It followed into an arc, wobbling back and forth before it settled. Was this truly its purpose? Did it serve any other function?
What might a child drop it off of?
Tumblr media
Her hands rested on her knees as she considered this question; perhaps she was putting too much thought into it, and whoever bought it ended up throwing it away because it provided no value. A lingering moment passed before she looked back up at Mutsuki. "...if I pushed it down stairs, do you think it would keep falling the whole way?"
Tumblr media
✉ [ unscripted ask ➥ @duskwilt ]
This spool-like piece of metal appears to be a toy of some kind, but considering Kotone found it in a dumpster, it didn't exactly come with instructions. Thus, she presents it to Mutsuki when she next sees him, eyes alight with subdued curiosity. "Do you know what this is?"
Tumblr media
As soon as the object is presented to him--and Kotone's rare show of interest is noted--Mutuski begins his inspection. While it doesn't look particularly interesting to him, Kotone has obviously grown curious about it and that's reason enough for him to pay attention. It's important to be encouraging... right? He's pretty sure that's what he should be doing here.
Pacing slowly in a circle, he inspects the spool from every angle despite it looking exactly the same no matter which way he gazes at it. Is this thing really a toy? It looks too flimsy to be a mechanical part, and too symmetrical to be scrap metal, but how does one play with it?
Tumblr media
Growing frustrated at the lack of results from just staring at the spool, Mutsuki reaches out to give it a poke. Maybe he pokes a little harder than necessary since the spool immediately tips off Kotone's palms, but what catches his eye more is the way the metal coils stretch during the fall before settling neatly back into its original shape upon hitting the ground. "--huh. That was... cool? Maybe you're supposed to drop it off things?"

♔ 「 @mythlived asked : [ toss ] receiver keeps tossing items at sender to get their attention 。 」
Tumblr media
♡ ❞ Movie nights weren't an unusual occurrence for their club—-all of them crammed in a living room, snacks and beverages passed around while they lounged around watching the television; depending on the specific participants, this could range from relaxed to chaotic and everywhere in between, and Pyrrha wouldn't have it any other way. She'd seen this film a couple times before ( and had been the one to suggest it ), so perhaps familiarity caused her attention to lapse.
Or, perhaps, it'd just been too long since she spent quality time with her best friend, and as such, she couldn't resist the temptation to periodically toss popcorn at the back of Em's head—-bonus points if the pieces then fell into his shirt.
But aside from that, there were no shenanigans afoot, everyone too enraptured by the brilliant choice of movie.
Tumblr media
When Em did glance back at her, she answered with a smug grin and a wiggle of her brows—-a silent challenge. There'd be war later, certainly, and she looked forward to every second of it.

「 💫 」 "Oh—-Raum's overprotective, but as long as I'm in no danger, he's harmless," the nephilim reassured, sparing his guardian ( who, as always, bristled at being called harmless ) a glance. Fortunately, none of the other pedestrians took notice of them, so he relaxed, not keen on staying too alert; someone would have to stop and listen to overhear something they shouldn't, after all. That said, he still kept his voice low, gentle and soothing. "And he'll be able to locate your friend, yes... as long as he's in a generous mood."
It was clear in hindsight that the demon had sensed supernatural presences since this morning, and Elias knew firsthand that Raum's ability to track energy signatures was unparalleled—-being such a powerful demon had its advantages.
With a gesture for the woman to follow, Elias weaved past the stream of people and back to the awning his guardian waited under. The demon scoffed, arms crossed over his chest. "I don't see why you need to be making more friends," he grumbled; on the surface, he appeared unwilling to cooperate, yet his child had enough experience to know he'd relent. "Don't you have enough already?"
Tumblr media
Elias merely smiled. "It's nice to help others out, isn't it?" Besides, if Raum tolerated Claudia's company, then he should have no qualms about someone who didn't make incessant comments about nephilim blood being a rare delicacy and her temptation to drink his.
A dry, unimpressed look made it clear that the demon disagreed with this sentiment, but... "He's in a building on the next block," Raum stated, scowling as though it physically pained him to be helpful. "Based on the way people are moving around inside, I'm guessing it's a store."
Tumblr media
Cautious eyes flicked between the two, weighing the pros and cons of his offer. On one hand, perhaps the fact that they were both Nephilim children would aid her in finding her charge -- some angelic connection that she didn't comprehend. On the other hand, dealing with his guardian may prove to be more trouble than it was worth. It was clear her presence wasn't a welcomed one when it came to the boy.
Parkivel frowned at her predicament. If she were to turn and leave, who was to say that this man and his Nephilim would pay them no mind -- would go about their day and forget any of this had ever happened? Or that there weren't others lurking about she hadn't sensed yet?
Of course Adrien had to flee from her side with another demonic entity present. When she got her hands on him again, she swore...
After a moment of deliberation, the demoness sighed. "While I don't think your friend over there would like that very much -- yes. Help would be appreciated." At least she had been the one to stumble across this duo and not Adrien himself. The boy was far too personable for his own good -- there was no telling what kind of situation he would have gotten himself into. Parker could take care of herself if worse came to worst.
"Does this mean you have a means of locating him?" If not, they were wasting her time. If Adrien went too far or found himself in some sort of trouble, their bond would eventually kick in and she'd be summoned to his side. Parker had no need for the mortal method of just looking around. Anyone could do that -- she was looking for a shortcut.

「 🐾 」 "Hm... I dunno," came the familiar's immediate response, far too flippant for the gravity of this situation. Maybe their brains were just wired differently—-most people likely would consider death the end of a friendship. But Jonah wasn't exactly a person. "Honestly, dying hurt less than just being injured would've, I think. Maybe that's why I don't mind? 'Cause I have no real memory of suffering because of you."
Somewhere in the back of his mind, in his haze of old memories, he recalled getting into some potions his master worked on; they smelled and tasted appealing... but they ended up being poisonous, and that marked his first death. Yeah, Lavina definitely reacted similarly to his master—-fretting over his safety and deeming themselves unworthy of his companionship. Even back then, Jonah chose friendship over safety.
Rather, he learned from his mistakes, at least. None of them would ever be perfect, but they had the choice to grow and better themselves... or something mushy like that. He didn't really dwell on that stuff. Either way, if Lavina still wanted to be friends, then he saw no reason to turn his back on her; that'd hurt them both more than a magic mishap could.
But he didn't not understand her point of view.
Tumblr media
"If it helps you feel better, we could find some compromise...?" That was how functional relationships worked, right? "Like, if I agree to stay away when your magic is unstable, or we figure out another way to avoid me getting hurt. Like I said, magic has always been dangerous—-so someone's probably already figured out solutions to issues like this. Maybe you could research that?"
Tumblr media
Throat constricting at his words, she reminded herself to remain calm, but how could he be so unbothered by this while it slowly -- steadily -- at away at her sanity? Being your friend is worth it. The words and his continued grooming struck a chord deep within her heart that she had to stamp down in order to hold fast to her resolve ( which was slowly crumbling the longer this went on ).
Normally, Lavina would have been the first person to agree with that sentiment, believing that the safety of her loved ones to be far above her own, but not this -- not him. Being friends with her shouldn't come at the cost of his life -- ever. "B-but... why? I hurt you..." It hadn't been intentional by any form of the word, but she'd still done it and couldn't take it back no matter how much she wished to. "I hurt you... and -- and it was all my fault... I should have been better... I should have controlled myself... but you got injured all because -- because I'd been so stupid..."
She didn't understand. Why did he keep coming back to see her -- to spend time with her -- after she'd done something so unforgivable? Lavina didn't feel as though she deserved any of his kindness, but she still selfishly held on to and craved it. Her face felt hot with the sign of oncoming tears and she bit her lip to keep them at bay. This was her own decision; she couldn't cry -- she wouldn't cry.
Her small form loosed a trembling sigh, hands wringing within her lap. "How can you forgive me... and still want to be my friend? You should hate me... and never want to see me again." Though her words said one thing, she made no move to push him away, a small part of her wishing he would stay. A tear slipped free during her ramblings, saying more now than she ever remember doing in the past. "I don't want to stop being your friend... but I don't want to hurt or lose you even more... I was so scared, Jonah..."

「 ☾ 」 A shiver danced down her spine at the swipe of the vampire's tongue against the sensitive skin of her neck—-eliciting a similar reaction from Celeste, a noise somewhere between a whine and a moan. It took no time at all for her to relax into the position, one hand resting on Emilia's shoulder and the other flipping over to squeeze her hand; this was more than okay, in her humble opinion, even if a normal person would be afraid of a hungry monster. Well, Celeste never made any claims toward normalcy, liable to outright dismiss it as dull and boring.
Not the first time Emilia fed from her—-thus, it felt more familiar this time, and Celeste didn't intend to resist until her friend's hunger was assuaged. But she knew she might pass out from blood loss after a certain point ( despite her immortality, she lacked the accelerated healing that some possessed ); she didn't want Emilia to feel any guilt, so while she still had the energy, she fumbled to grab her phone from her pocket and, looking over the vampire's shoulder, she typed out a message into her notes app with one hand.
Sans any clumsy misspellings, it read: I have a friend who should be able to heal the blood loss. You can call her at XXX and arrange to meet her at this location.
Celeste didn't know where in the world Sapphira might be currently, yet the archivist left a waypoint with the Cirque that allowed her to quickly travel to wherever they set up—-so meeting up shouldn't be an issue.
Tumblr media
With that done, Celeste set her phone on the ground next to her, then returned her hand to Emilia's shoulder, her eyes fluttering shut as lightheadedness began to set in.
Tumblr media
The tug at her sleeve is felt and forgotten, focused on the steady in and out of her breaths. Try as she may to pay attention, it felt as if she were listening to everything through water. Hunger -- even to this degree -- was no stranger to her but it felt like ages since she'd last felt a thirst this potent. Her nails pierced into the wood floor, shaking hands attempting to curl into fists.
Maybe... just a taste, the voice in her head whispered; urged. If she was quick enough, it wouldn't even matter, would it? And she could be gentle -- yes, she knew how to be gentle. Again her head shifted, glassy eyes swiveling to look up at her friend and landing on her neck. Celeste was offering... what was the problem?
Tongue swiping across her lower lip, she reached out and placed her hand over the other woman's, the feeling somewhat grounding as she raised up to a kneeling position. "You have to tell me... if I'm hurting you," she pleaded, though it was more an afterthought as she was too distracted with the tempting look of Celeste's throat. A swallow. "Stop me if it's not okay..."
One trembling hand brushed Celeste's hair away from her shoulder and she leaned forward -- slowly, in an effort to remember herself; to remember to be gentle. It also allowed Celeste time to reconsider her choice if she wished. Why she hadn't gone for help and had decided to deal with Emilia on her own, the Princess would never understand, but she didn't have the capacity to ponder that for long.
Trailing a tongue delicately over the exposed skin, Emilia felt her fangs strain as if they could extend any further and meet Celeste's vein half way. Hesitating for only a moment, she bit down on the soft flesh -- blood spilling against her tongue causing her to whimper.

♔ 「 @vulpesly seeks knowledge 。 」
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which of your muses would you say are impulse buyers?
If they had enough money, Vivi would be a huge impulse buyer; they'd amass a ton of candy and a whole army of Roombas, and this is precisely why Sapphira gives them little to no pocket change. Fortunately, they can use a little magic to "steal" candy from shops anyway, in a way that doesn't hurt the business.
Noire never considers expenses and will buy anything that catches her eye, though she tends to donate most of it or otherwise give it away as gifts; since her lifestyle is fairly nomadic, she can't keep it all—-but it sparks joy in the moment nonetheless ( and it surely sparks joy for anyone who finds it in the thrift shop later ).
Sanae specifically impulse-buys stuffed animals because they're cute and soft. Her room at home is filled with them, and as a child, she had tea parties with her plushies.
Which ones are more prone to saving and being frugal?
A kleptomaniac to the core, Miyabi refuses to spend her own money on anything but necessities ( and even then, she often gets other people to pay for her ), and instead, she tends to steal what she wants—-if she can get away with it. If she does spend her money, she's hyper-critical of cost versus value; that said, she's still fairly naive about budgeting due to youth and inexperience.
Ryoko is responsible with her money and puts most of it towards necessary expenses and savings, though she's sure to treat herself, too. If she spent more time at home instead of traveling, she'd be more inclined to build a collection of teacups and related accessories—-maybe some day.
Raum hates spending money; even for necessities, he'll use his powers of persuasion to acquire discounts on food and lodging, if he doesn't outright get it for free. On the other hand, Elias does his utmost to fairly compensate businesses for their services, much to his guardian's dismay.
Are any of them the sort to add an item to their cart on impulse but then remove it later before purchase after reconsidering the expense vs need?
At any given time, there are about twenty items in Sehn's cart on various websites, and she either removes them or forgets entirely. She enjoys looking at things rather than actually buying them, or she finds something else she likes better, or she intends to buy it once she has enough money but then loses interest. Additionally, she prefers winning things from games like claw machines versus purchasing them outright.
Similarly, Pyrrha's wishlists are miles long, but she's highly selective about what she actually spends her money on. She also likes strolling around and window shopping at real stores; ultimately, she cares more about the journey than the destination. On a deeper level, she's disturbed by mess and clutter, which leads to her being more minimalistic than expected—-her space is still decorated, but she keeps a careful balance.
Nona is the same where she'll bookmark an item, then reconsider five times before she decides if she truly wants it or not; practicality plays a large role in this—-need typically wins out over want.
