Top 10 Less Known Facts About Apple
Tumblr media
Today, we know Apple as the world's greatest tech company. But Apple too, as a company, has had its fair share of ups and downs, and has made interesting history. Here are 10 facts about Apple that not many people know of.
1. Apple Has Three Founders
Apple Inc. was actually started by three people. While two of them are well known, the third person is known by fewer people, his name is Ronald Wayne. He was born on May 17, 1934. He provided administrative oversight and documentation for the company, and was the person to illustrate the first Apple logo. Due to his earlier experiences with his slot machine business, which had him indebted, he was not willing to take risks with Apple. A few days later he sold his 10% share of the company to Jobs and Wozniak for US$ 800, and about a year later he accepted $1500 to forfeit any potential claims against Apple in the future.
Tumblr media
2. Apple Was Started With A Calculator
While Steve Jobs sold his Volkswagen van to raise some money for starting Apple, Steve Wozniak sold his HP 65 scientific calculator. Now, this might not seem like a fair deal, but scientific calculators at that time were much more expensive than they are today. While the van generated $750, the calculator was able to bring in $500.

3. Apple Started A Clothing Line In 1986
Over the years we have seen that Apple's brilliant sense of product design, with its stunningly minimal looking products and its sense of what people want next, has developed an enormous following for Apple. But even Apple hasn't done everything right. In 1986, a year after Steve Jobs left his position as the chairman of the company, Apple started a clothing line named as "The Apple Collection". Under this brand, Apple developed clothing accessories ranging from shirts and pants to watches and sunglasses. This actually did not turn out very well, you would understand when you check out the collection.
Tumblr media
4. Steve Jobs Invented The Computer Mouse By Stealing It From Xerox
It is quite commonly believed that the computer mouse was invented by Steve Jobs. But this is not true, Steve Jobs took the concept from Xerox. When he visited Xerox's Palo Alto research centre in the 1970s, he was amazed to see a new three buttoned computer mouse. Upon realizing that it would be the perfect interface device for his Apple computers, he took the concept to Dean Hovey, an industrial designer, who removed two of the buttons, improving the concept for Jobs and also reducing the cost from $300 to $15. This is how Jobs made the design more practical and affordable for consumers.
5. In 1997 Apple Was Saved By Microsoft
In the year 1997, Apple was about to go bankrupt. Jobs had just become the CEO of Apple, he made some serious moves to save the company, one of them was to make a deal with Bill Gates. Apple and Microsoft are companies founded around the same time, though one was more focused on making computers and the other, on software, they still had a rivalry. Apple had filed a copyright infringement suit against Microsoft. When Jobs called Bill Gates, he talked about leaving behind the competitive approach to their existence in the business and rather have a supportive attitude towards each other. After that Microsoft agreed to invest $150 million in Apple stocks, both the companies agreed to settle their court matters, Microsoft Office was made available for Macintosh, and Internet Explorer was made the default browser on the mac, with no restrictions on other browsers.
Tumblr media
6. Apple Has More Cash In Hand Than The US Treasury
Being the world's greatest tech company, Apple has got to have some perks for itself. It has more cash in hand than the US government does. But if we really look at it, the government has a virtually unlimited amount of cash, they are the ones who print it, they can always get more for themselves. But until they don't, we are going to say Apple has more. In 2015, Apple had almost twice as much cash as the US government.
Tumblr media
7. If You Use iTunes, You Have Already Agreed To Not Use It To Create Nuclear Weapons
There is a clause in Apple end user license agreement, which says that you have agreed to not use the shiny music app for the development, design, manufacture or production of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons. Now you would think, who in the world would use iTunes for such a purpose or how in the world could it even be used in that way. I would say that Apple just maybe likes to fill all the gaps.
Tumblr media
8. You Have A Better Chance Of Getting Accepted At Harvard Than Getting A Job At An Apple Store
Apple once had an acceptance rate of 2% for an Apple store, in the same year the acceptance rate at Harvard was 7%. Now, it can't be a direct comparison, as the conditions for acceptance for a retail job and for acceptance at a university are very different. It is still a fun comparison though. There is a quite significant difference between the acceptance rates. Now you know that it is not so hard getting accepted at Harvard, that you have a better chance at it than you have at being employed at an Apple store.
Tumblr media
9. Smoking Near Apple Computers Voids The Warranty
Though there is no direct statement in Apple's warranty clause which says that cigarette smoke voids the warranty, there have been a number of cases where Apple has refused repairs to computers damaged by cigarette residue. It is not the smoke that is the reason behind it, Apple clarifies that it is actually the nicotine residue and nicotine is on OSHA's list of hazardous substances, therefore they cannot make a repair employee work on a computer contaminated with it. You've got one more reason to not smoke now, if you use an Apple computer.
Tumblr media
10. Siri Will Flip A Coin For You If you Can't Make A Decision
Sometimes, it is just hard to make small decisions and you might not even have a coin to toss. But if you have Siri, you aren't yet completely out of luck. Siri can always help you decide which ice cream you should get, you just have to summon Siri and say, "flip a coin" and it will flip a coin for you. Of course, it won't be as good as an actual coin, with which you come to know what you actually want when it's in the air, but it's going to be random enough. Siri can also help you when you want to play a dice game but you somehow don't have the dice, mind you, it's not that difficult to lose those small cubes. You just have to summon Siri and say, "roll dice" and it will do it for you.

What Should You Buy? iPhone 11, Galaxy S10, Note 10 or The Pixel 4?
Tumblr media
In 2019, we have seen some really good tech advancements in mobile phones, maybe some revolutionary ones. The phones that we have on top are these four. So, it's a pretty common question that if you're buying a flagship phone, which one should you go for. Now, the answer to this really depends upon the user preferences, but still, a sort of a guide wouldn't hurt.
iPhone 11
Very new addition to Apple's iPhone lineup. It's actually three phones this time. The iPhone 11, 11 Pro and the 11 Pro Max.
iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 is kind of the successor of the iPhone XR. It has a 6.1 inches LCD display with a resolution of 828x1792 pixels, an aluminium frame with a glass back and it is IP68 water and dust resistant, it comes with the Apple A13 Bionic chip and 4 gigabytes of RAM. The phone has a dual rear camera setup, a standard 12 MP camera and a 12 MP wide angle camera, it also has a 12 MP selfie camera, which can capture wide angle selfies, portraits and can record slow-motion and 4k videos, and that is really awesome. They've upgraded the battery too, now it's 3110 mAh and with that the phone also supports fast charging with an 18 W charger, which by the way is not included in the box (such an Apple thing to do), but that's only for the iPhone 11, they do include it with the pros. The iPhone 11 starts at $699.
Tumblr media
iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max
The iPhone 11 Pro is a smaller, lighter and more comfortable phone than the iPhone 11, it also has a stainless steel frame over the aluminium one on the iPhone 11. The iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8 inches OLED display with a resolution of 1125x2436 pixels and 800 nits of max brightness, whereas, the iPhone 11 has 625 nits of max brightness. Another thing the 11 Pro has that the 11 does not is a third f/2.0 2x telephoto camera.
The iPhone 11 pro max just has a bigger 6.5 inches screen with a resolution of 1242x2688 pixels, and a much much bigger 3969 mAh battery. The iPhone 11 Pro starts at $999 and the Pro Max starts at $1,099.
Tumblr media
Overall, these are great new phones from Apple, but what I'd say is that if you're an android lover, you just can't like iOS as much, or if you have an iPhone Xs then there isn't much difference, you would probably like to wait for the 2020 iPhone, otherwise, you can totally get one of these phones, they're awesome.
Galaxy S10
In 2019, Samsung has launched three phones in the S series the S10e, the S10 and the S10+. The S10e is clearly Samsung's answer to the "budget" iPhone XR and is a pretty interesting phone.
Galaxy S10e
The Galaxy S10e starts at $749. It has a 5.8 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. The phone comes with a 3100 mAh battery, Android 9.0 with One UI and the processor is Exynos 9820 or Snapdragon 855, depending upon where you live. You get 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage or 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage in the more expensive version, with that, it has up to 512 GB expandable storage and also a headphone jack. The phone has a dual camera setup which includes a 12MP, f/1.5-2.4 wide standard camera and a 16MP, f/2.2 ultrawide camera, on the front is a 10MP, f/1.9 wide camera. The phone has a side mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner, instead of an under display, ultrasonic sensor, which honestly is better than the ultrasonic one.
Tumblr media
Galaxy S10/10+
The Galaxy S10 is the 2019 flagship from Samsung and is starting at $899. It is slightly bigger than the S10e but much more loaded. It has got a 6.1 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440x3040 pixels, yeah, that is much higher. It does come with the same OS and processor as the S10e, but this one comes with a 3400 mAh battery and 8 GB RAM with 128 or 512 GB storage, again expandable up to 512 GB. The Galaxy S10 comes with three cameras, the extra one here is a 12MP, f/2.4 2x telephoto camera. It has a single front facing camera same as the S10e. The phone has an under display, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a heart rate sensor and good news, a headphone jack.
The S10+ just has a bigger 6.4 inches display, with the same resolution, a bigger 4100 mAh battery and a second 8MP, f/2.2 front camera. You can also pick a 12 GB RAM version of the S10+ with 1 TB storage. The S10+ starts at $999.
Tumblr media
This year too Samsung has done a really good job with their phones. S series phones are the phones that I personally totally prefer over every other phone. These are probably the phones that come with the most features out of the bunch, they are everything that you'd expect them to be and more for that price point. These are well loaded, powerful phones and since One UI, Samsung phones have been really good software wise too. These phones are good at everything now, the software, the hardware, quality, features, etc. Same goes for the Note series, if you're a power user. These, I can safely say, are the overall best phones in the market and I don't think you'd regret getting one of these.
Galaxy Note 10/10+
Every year Samsung launches two flagship phones, one at the beginning of the year and one towards the end. The first phone is in the S series, which we have already talked about, the second phone is in the Note series, which is for power users. Note phones are like the most loaded phones in the market, with top of the line specs these also do a lot of extra stuff. Every year Samsung launches a single Note phone but this year we've got two Note phones, the Note 10 and the Note 10+.
Let's talk about the Note 10 first, the Note 10 is a slightly smaller and more comfortable one of the two, which is a good step from Samsung as people who like smaller phones can now get a Note too. The phone has a 6.3 inches dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels, with that you get a 3500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support and you get an Exynos 9825 processor or a Snapdragon 855 processor if you live in USA or China, the phone comes with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage with no expandable storage and no headphone jack, which is an unusual thing done by Samsung, and not a good step. In the camera department, the phone has a triple camera setup, which includes a 12MP, f/1.5-2.4 wide camera, a 12MP, f/2.5 2x telephoto camera and a 16MP, f/2.2 ultrawide camera. Now, having a 16MP ultrawide camera is a plus point over a 12MP as it would give better photos with less distortion. On the front, the phone has a 10MP, f/2.2 camera. They have removed the heartrate sensor from the phone, but another feature that the phone has this year reverse wireless charging, which the S10 too has. Now, reverse charging means that the phones can wirelessly charge another device with wireless charging capability, through contact with the back of the phone. The Note 10+ is slightly bigger and a bit more capable phone than the regular Note 10. It has a 6.8 inches dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440x3040 pixels, a bigger 4300 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, which is pretty insane, and with that there are two storage options, that are, 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage or 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, the phone also has up to 1 TB of expandable storage but no headphone jack. Both of these phones come with Android 9.0, the Note 10 is placed at $949, the Note 10+ is placed at $1,099 and the 512 GB variant is placed at $1,199.
Tumblr media
Now, both of these phones are again really good phones and there are substantial upgrades from last year's Note 9, for example in the battery, the storage, the screen, the S pen, etc. but I think it's still a step down from the Note 9. Now, I know there is more RAM, more battery, and more cameras, but the Note 9 has more things that would matter more than the things I've mentioned above. The Note 9 has a headphone jack, which you don't get in either of the 2019 Notes, you don't get expandable storage in the Note 10, which you do get in the Note 9, you also have a capacitive fingerprint scanner in the Note 9, which is way better than the ultrasonic one on the Note 10s, you also don't get the iris scanner or the heartrate sensor that the Note 9 has. I think that the things the Note 9 has are way better and more useful than the things that the Note 10s have. So, if you have a Note 9 or a Note 8 and it's in good condition, then you should not upgrade to a Note 10, or if you are thinking to get a Note 10, you should really consider a Note 9 instead of a Note 10, you would get it for way less money and definitely get more value for your money. The 2019 Notes are good phones, but I'm kind of disappointed in them cause they don't have a lot of good stuff and look more like a downgrade instead of an upgrade.
Pixel 4/4 XL
The Pixel 4 is placed at $799, for which it comes with a 5.7 inches POLED display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels, a Snapdragon 855 processor with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage with no memory card slot or headphone jack. The phone has a 2700 mAh battery with 18W fast charging capability. At the back of the phone there are two cameras, a 12MP, f/1.7 wide camera and a 16MP, f/2.4 2x telephoto camera, yes, no wide angle camera. On the front, we get a 8MP, f/2.0 wide camera and a depth sensor. The Pixel 4 XL has a 6.3 inches POLED display with a resolution of 1440x3040 pixels and a bigger 3700 mAh battery, at the price point of $899. One peculiar thing about these phones is that they have a radar. These are the first phones to have a built in radar, it does add up to the functionality a little bit, but not much. It only adds up to the speed of the facial recognition system and adds some gesture support to the phone. As you reach for the phone, the radar detects your hand and activates the facial recognition system, so by the time you lift the phone, it's already looking to read your face and it makes the unlocking process really fast. The gestures it brings include mid air hand movements to set off the alarm or control the music playback and little stuff like that, but your hand needs to be really close to the top of the phone while you do it.
The Pixel this year has been kind of an uninteresting phone and an interesting disappointment at the same time. A lot of people had expectations from it and it kind of blew it away. The Pixel lineup might not be having the flashiest specs of them all, and the Pixel 4 might even look like the worst competitor in this list, which it kind of is, to be honest. But Pixels have their spot for a different reason, that is, the software, and mind you, the software on these devices is really good. We all know about the really awesome camera software on the Pixel devices, which gives its photos a huge advantage over its competitors'. That is pretty much it. The camera and the software are the things that the Pixel did the best at, but this year they managed to suck at the camera, as per most reviews. All that makes the Pixel 4s a bit overpriced phones and even more difficult to recommend.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
So, we have seen some good flagship phones in 2019, but not all of them seem to be worthy upgrades from their previous versions. Only the the iPhone 11s and the Galaxy S10s look like good upgrades. The other two phones are clearly not as good and are out of the competition. The best 2019 phone, according to me, would be the S10. It is clearly the better choice than the other three in the list. It is the phone that has great specs, great cameras, great design and build quality, it gives the best features, the best utility and would give the best overall experience being the all-rounder phone that it is and at a very reasonable price. The iPhone 11 is right behind the S10 and to be honest if you love iOS and don't like Android so much, chances are you're gonna love the iPhone more.

The 3 Mobile Apps For Health That You Need
Being healthy nowadays can really be a struggle. These days it's really easy to not be fit, way easier than it would've been a couple of decades back. There is way less manual work to do with all our daily processes becoming more and more automated by the day. Secondly, the food. We mostly consume junk these days, and if not, most of the food we consume is adulterated to a great extent. So, pretty much everything is pushing us to be less healthier. While we cannot control some of the factors, we can still try to do what we can for a better life.
Tumblr media
With that said, how can you use your phone for a better health? Here are 3 apps that are really going to help you get healthier, fitter and happier.
Healthifyme App
Healthifyme is a really good app to track your health, loose weight and clean up your nutrition. The app offers features so good that I can quite expect myself to be on the safe side while saying that this is the best app out there for health tracking and weight loss. The Future Of Transportation
Tumblr media
One of the things that we have seen wild developments in, in the past couple of decades is transportation. We are the species that a long time back invented the wheel. Today, we have accomplished simply mind blowing things because of that. Cars that could go 300 mph, trains that could annually take up to 1.7 billion passengers at speeds of up to 275 mph, and vehicles that could fly. With what we see the transportation industry doing today, it is pretty common to come up with questions like, "Is this it?", "Is this the future?". But really, let us take a look at what the future could be like.
Self Driving Cars
The name very well suggests what the car could do. The self driving car uses a lot of sensors to detect its surroundings and drive itself. This might seem like a magical thing when you hear about it, but our cars have already been doing some of the driving themselves. The anti-lock braking system or the ABS does the brake pumping which prevents the brakes from locking and leading to the car getting into an uncontrollable skid. Earlier, the driver had to do this and had a higher chances of error. A car could reduce engine power if it detects a crash and there is less time to prevent it through braking, and ultimately if the car detects that that the crash cannot be prevented, it prepares the airbags and tightens the seat belts. All that by itself. You can imagine how close we are to driver-less cars. In fact, they are already there, but there are some problems that the technology still faces. For instance, the maps have to be measured down to centimeters for the accurate functioning of the technology and also the cars cannot react at par with the speeds of sudden happenings, like a person appearing out of nowhere on a bike or a child running and accidentally ending up in front of the car. There is even a recorded case of a woman dying because of crashing with a self driving car, while she was walking her bike across the street. But hopefully, we can see these cars on the roads once the technology becomes even better and more robust.
Tumblr media
More And More Electric Cars
Electric cars are cars run by electric motors and batteries instead of the common combustion engines and fossil fuels. On knowing this one can make out that these cars do not produce harmful emissions for the environment, which is exactly the thing. But why don't we still see more electric cars on the roads than the normal combustion engine cars. Electric cars were first produced in the 1880s and gained a lot of popularity back then. But the popularity fell with the production of cheaper gasoline and betterment in the combustion engine. But about a decade back from now, production of electric cars caught some speed due to increasing air pollution and awareness about it and other environmental issues because of emissions from vehicles. Also the technology of the electric cars was improved. But an electric car was still more expensive than most of the combustion engine cars. The Lithium ion batteries are the biggest expense for these cars. But in 2019, the costs of these batteries have drastically dropped from what they once used to be. Electric cars also faced the problem of catching fire really easily on crashing. Manufacturers worked and solved this problem too, they designed voltage systems to automatically stop in case of airbag deployment.聽
The electric cars are heavier than the conventional cars because of the weight of their batteries. It is a good thing as it provides more stability while driving and also reduces the chances of the car rolling over. With the technology getting better by the day and the increasing environmental concerns, It is pretty safe to say that this technology is going to get cheaper and is going to make its way to more and more roads in the near future.

Maglev Trains and Hyperloop
Magnetic levitation, also known as Maglev, is the technique of suspending an object using magnets, with no support other than the magnetic field. This technique has been dominantly harnessed in trains. Magnetic levitation completely eliminates the train's contact with the platform over which it runs, what it does is it makes the ride frictionless and thus, faster, quieter and smoother. Though the train still faces drag due to air, limiting its speed to the highest recorded of up to 375 mph. But if the air is eliminated, which can be done by developing vacuum tunnels, the train could go up to 4000 mph, up to almost 10 times more. Yes, that is a jaw dropping speed. What it also means is that if an accident occurs somehow, things are going to be nasty.
Let us now talk about the famous Hyperloop. Hyperloop is nothing but Elon Musk's Maglev train in a vacuum tunnel, yep the insane speed thing. Though it has got a luringly thrilling speed, there are some drawbacks to it which might make you want to reconsider booking your tickets. Firstly, it is going to be really really really expensive, predictions show that it can reach up to $100 billion to construct the tunnels and they are going to be very difficult to maintain, any leakage no matter how small, is going to lead to fatalities. At this point one might start having second thoughts on whether it is going to be worth it or not. The tunnels are going to be highly vulnerable to earthquakes and other seismic activities, which could again lead to major accidents. The steel tunnels are also predicted to expand due to heat, which again makes it a bad idea. The Hyperloop is also argued to be very vulnerable to terrorism as the tunnels could be easily breached. Looking at all that, it gets clear that it is not all rainbows and unicorns just yet. Everything except for speed and Elon Musk seem to be against Hyperloop. It might or might not be a good idea. With Elon Musk, we can't quite say. The man is known to do the seemingly impossible. But, let's just hope for good and wait for the future.
Tumblr media
Flying Taxis
It's not an uncommon thing to own a car anymore. We also know how densely populated our cities are and we all see how congested our roads are, of course. If you can go on the roads without cursing, congratulations you have attained inner peace. Keeping that in mind there is a concept of flying taxis, and the good thing is, it seems pretty feasible. A flying taxi is going to be a sort of a helicopter or a drone which would run on batteries and carry passengers. Well it seems like a revolutionary idea and the best one among the things we have talked about so far. The idea is simple, practical and does not show much drawbacks. The taxis are going to use electrical motors and batteries, which would make them cheaper, less harmful for the environment and mainly affordable for the people. Right now Uber is acting as the face of the development of flying taxis. Uber claims to test a flying taxi in 2020 and make the idea into reality by 2023. Uber has partnered with NASA for its air traffic control systems, and a lot of aircraft manufacturers to design models for its network. The prototype of the taxi has already been made by the Canadian company "Bell", and is called "Bell Nexus".
Tumblr media
Conclusion
With so many ideas in the bucket, the future of transportation seems pretty interesting to talk about. Some ideas are wild, some are simple, some are quite impractical some are perfectly practical. I guess it is going to be really staggering to witness these ideas come to reality. One thing that is clear is that the future is fast and it's coming. Tell me in the comments which of these ideas, you think, is the best.

Under The Screen Cameras | The Next Big Thing?
Tumblr media
Here is a little recap of what has happened with the front cameras in the last few years. If you are here to only know about the new under the screen front camera phones then skip to paragraph 3. Over the last couple of years we've seem smartphone companies coming up with new ideas to give us more and more of screen on our smartphones, and yes these new designs and ideas have made space for themselves in peoples' hands. Users seem to be pretty excited about bezel-less screens. Though there hasn't been much problem for the manufacturers to come up with screens that cover the whole phone, one thing always stood out, the front camera. In 2017, Apple took a step towards such a concept, the iPhone X. They gave us a notch. As always, some people had no problem with it and some just didn't like it so much. After that, companies just bombarded us with notches and to be honest, they sold the pretty well. But it never stops, does it? Manufacturers started competing for more and more screen, they kept reducing the size of the notch and we later had the teardrop notch.
Tumblr media
While all this went on, there was also an idea of a motorized front cameras that would just pop up when you need it. Later, manufacturers also started adapting this idea as it gave users a full notch-less screen. It was good, the screen looked good, people bought it, but things weren't as sweet, cause motorized parts aren't so robust and non problematic, you know. During this time Samsung came up with something different, though it's not something very different from the teardrop notch. With their new laser cutting technology(not really), they cut a hole in their display to fit the camera. This was called the punch hole display. It was pretty good, the phone looked good, but it still wasn't a full camera less screen.
Tumblr media
Manufacturers are now shifting towards under the screen front cameras. Samsung has been reportedly working on it. Recently, the Chinese giants "Xiaomi" and "Oppo" have released clips of their prototypes with a fully functional under the display front camera. Now, the trick behind is that when the front camera is working the screen behind it stops working, which actually allows light to pass through it and fall on the camera. It all seems pretty magical and perfect, right? But, that's not the case. The screen above the camera isn't transparent as a lens, instead it is translucent. Now because of that the phone produces very bad quality photos, and apparently there is no way of solving this problem yet. But, the technology is still in a very initial stage and we can expect improvement. On the other hand a lot of people can even be happy with bad quality photos in exchange with a notch free display or a motorized camera. What do you guys think, are under the screen cameras the next big thing?

Huawei is this Goliath Chinese company. It ranks second, right after Samsung, as a smartphone manufacturer. As big a company as it is, it is heavily rumored to be associated with the Chinese government, and the U.S have never been able to trust Huawei for not spying on them.聽
Huawei also has a number of cases and allegations against it by big companies like Apple and Motorola. These largely include allegations for stealing.聽
Here we get an idea that Huawei is not a very honest company in itself. It is even rumored that Huawei praises employees who could steal information from other companies somehow. That's some great heights it has went on to eliminate competition.聽
So, we kind of get an idea that, somehow, what the U.S government did to Huawei could be very much justifiable.聽
However Huawei hasn't done something specific recently to get banned. It's just all the things building up against it for the past decade.聽
The ban stops any U.S based company from doing business with Huawei. This majorly includes Microsoft, Intel , Qualcomm and Google. The last one being the greatest blow to Huawei as it won't be getting the Android OS, google play services and all the related stuff from google.聽
This could largely drop Huawei sales in the smartphone market. But apparently that's not it, fortunately for Huawei fans, there has been news that Huawei knew something like this would happen to them and had been preparing its own operating system that would support android apps.聽
This could backup the smartphone market, but I personally doubt that it would keep sales from dropping, plus there's no guarantee that the new OS won't struggle in the market or that it would compete with and beat the Android OS, or at least be at par.
That was one aspect of the ban. Huawei also makes laptops. It's not gonna be affected much by Intel and Qualcomm as it also makes its own processors, it could just make more to keep up. But Microsoft, that again is a pretty rough blow to Huawei, but again maybe it's generating its own OS for for computers as well, But it would again face the same problems.聽
So, overall things are pretty uncertain as of right now. But as Huawei has been rumored to be working with the Chinese government. It could use the government's help to somehow pressurize the U.S government to raise the ban. The Chinese government could do that by banning the Chinese firms from doing business with the U.S based companies.聽
That would be blow for a blow as most of the devices designed by the American companies are manufactured in China, it could be very unprofitable if China does that, but it would also affect the Chinese factories and firms. So, again, there is just uncertainty right now.
Many people might be asking this question right now, that what would happen to their Huawei or Honor phones.聽
Your phones would not get any further Android updates and Google Play services would stop working on your phones. This would obviously be the case world wide, it's unfortunate, but what can we do. Share with friends who would like this information!

FOLD: THE NEW GENERATION OF SMARTPHONES
Tumblr media
Over the last few years smartphone manufacturers have drowned us with smartphones, each new one loaded with fancier specs. It's been a huge wave. Came the IPhone X, something completely new, and the latest one we've seen is the Galaxy S10. But now something newer has come, the foldable phones. The first ones in this genre happen to be the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X. Despite being from the same genre and having somewhat similar specs these phones differ a little in their design. The Galaxy Fold comes with almost the same specs as the S10. So basically it's a flagship. It has the latest Snapdragon 855 octacore processor, 12 gigabytes of RAM, 512 gigabytes of internal storage, not expandable. It has a 7.30 inch OLED screen(primary) with a resolution of 1536x2152 pixels and the secondary screen is 4.60 inch with a resolution of 840x1960 pixels, the battery is 4,380 mAh. It comes exactly with 6 cameras, 3 of them are at the back one of them is 16 and two are 12 megapixels, it has two front cameras when it is unfolded, 10 and 8 megapixels, and it has a single 10 megapixels front camera when it is folded. Lastly it comes packed with the latest Android 9.0. That's some pretty insane specs and with all that the phone costs $1980 and that is very expensive. Now, let's talk about the Huawei Mate X. This one comes with a Hisilicon Kirin 980 octacore processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM, 512 gigabytes of storage which is expandable up to 256 GB. The phone comes with a single fold-able display unlike the two displays on the Galaxy Fold. The display is OLED and when unfolded is 8 inches with a resolution of 2200x2480 pixels, when folded the two parts of the display are 6.60 and 6.38 inches and have resolutions of 1148x2480 and 892x2480 pixels respectively. The phone has three cameras at the back, the cameras are 40, 16 and 8 megapixels, and it comes with Android 9.0 with EMUI 9.1. The phone does not have any front cameras, instead the rear cameras are used to take selfies, thanks to the phone's design and folding orientation, the part of the screen at the back of the phone beside the cameras is used to take selfies. To take selfies you just have to choose the option to flip the screen in the camera app then just flip the phone, the picture would appear on the part of the screen facing you, and the you just have to take the shot. One very impressive and practical photo related feature that the phone offers is that it allows the subject of a photo(if the subject is a person, of course) to see how the photo is coming, simultaneously as the photo is being taken, that's due to the dual screen of the device. The phone costs $2600. That's even more expensive than the Fold.
As the prices look, these phones won't be attracting a lot of customers. Perhaps later when devices like this are a little more common and less expensive, we'll see more of these. The phones obviously won't be attracting average phone buyers, I think they would pretty much only attract people who are looking for both a phone and a tablet in a single device. People want their phones to be sleeker and more compact as it goes. The fold concept being what it is today is much bulkier and a lot undesirable in comparison. The key selling point for these phones as of right now is only going to be the excitement of the people for this new mind blowing concept. To be very honest this technology requires a lot of improvement right now. It is not as feasible as it should be, not right now. Getting back to the Fold and the Mate. Both these phones have their perks and drawbacks. Both of them have a fingerprint sensor on their sides. The Mate has an integrated power button with a fingerprint sensor which makes it much more comfortable to use, whereas, the Fold has a separate sensor and a separate power button, you have to first press the power button and then move your finger on the sensor. It would be kinda annoying. The Galaxy Fold folds inwards, this is a plus point as the primary display stays protected through this. Remember there is no screen protection for these devices yet. On the other hand the Mate X's screen folds outwards exposing both the parts of the screen and their junction. The Fold has glass back which allows wireless charging, plus it comes with a back cover(two separate parts of back cover). Though it does not have an earphone jack, the good thing is it comes with Samsung's wireless earphones. The Mate X does not support wireless charging but it has a pretty fast 'quick charge' feature, and it has an earphone jack. In the Galaxy Fold you can take a selfie in both the expanded mode and the compact mode, whereas, Huawei does not allow selfie in expanded mode. Overall, I can say that Samsung is providing a better and a more feasible fold-able phone for a more reasonable price than Huawei. The only plus points Huawei has are that it is somewhat sleeker, has a bigger screen and a better screen to body ratio, but the drawbacks of the phone cannot be undermined and for that, there is a difference of $620 between the two phones. Though I'm not a big Samsung fan, Huawei clearly is not being reasonable. One more fold-able phone that is set to arrive and could be potential competitor is the Motorola Razr. The phone does not have as big a screen as the above mentioned devices but it sure is thinner, more compact and a familiar design.Share with friends who would like this information!

EFFECTS OF MOBILE PHONE RADIATION
Effects of Mobile Phone Radiation
Usage of and innovations in wireless communications have dramatically increased over the last couple of decades.
Life has become unimaginable without this technology as a majority of our days' jobs require the use of mobile phones, also the ease of life it provides. But it also has a not so bright side.
There are a lot of proven issues with mobile phones, major ones being over usage, addiction and eventually restlessness, lack of sleep and reduced productivity in individuals.
One debated and uncertain issue is the radiation emitted by phones.
Tumblr media
Mobile phones use electromagnetic radiation, which is in the microwave range pf frequency(450-3800 MHz).
A large number of researches and studies have been done over the last decade on this topic. None of these have come to a conclusion that mobile phone radiation poses potential health risk.
Also, no increase has been observed in any health diseases with the increase in cellphone usage.聽
Though, this radiation can adversely affect health if its concentration is high enough. The principle on which the microwave oven works is to concentrate microwave radiation(same radiation used by mobile phones), concentrating this radiation produces heat. So, the way cellphone radiation could affect us is by burning us.
But we don't need to worry about it as a limit has been set for cellphone companies, which is way less than what could be harmful, so we're safe there.
聽 聽 聽 聽I would still suggest to use cellphones as less as possible, because this radiation thing is still an ongoing uncertainty and caution is always better in case of an uncertainty. Plus phone addiction is still not a good thing and can have other harmful effects. Share with friends who would like this information!
