Abbacchio was right to not trust Giorno. I love Giorno, but from Abbacchios perspective:

1. No one in Passione knows each other’s stands except for tight knit groups because knowing stands is knowing weaknesses. It makes sense he refused to show him Moody Blues until he had to.

2. Polpo died suddenly after Giorno appeared

3. For the other members that joined after Abbacchio, he had a good idea of their background. Giorno was a mystery.

4. Bruno never would’ve even thought about betraying the organization before Giorno came around.

5. Giorno made decisions for the group, overstepping Bruno’s authority as capo and Abbacchios authority as an experienced gang member

6. Giorno killed without hesitation (saving fugo, but still death was a huge deal to abbacchio at first)

Giorno was terrifying and disrupted everything Abbacchio had worked so hard to stabilize in his life. It wasn’t on purpose and Abbacchio shouldn’t have lashed out at a kid, but it makes total sense that he’s upset about him

Thoughts about modern AU Xiao have been absolutely plaguing me recently and I finally wrote up some of my thoughts <3

Modern Xiao who comes on his motorcycle to pick you up from work or your last lecture of the day any time you want him to—and whether you complain or not, makes sure you to wear a helmet. Safety first, he loves you and he can’t replace you. (And he’s a very good driver, but he can’t help but speed up just a little on the long, empty stretches of straight road to feel you hold on a little more tightly, arms around his waist.)

Modern Xiao who knows your order from everywhere, and learns what you’d want based on what mood you’re in so he can bring you something to cheer you up or just because he was out and thought of you.

Modern Xiao who shares an apartment with you, and gets attuned to your routines and habits and mannerisms, most of all the little cues that mean you’re upset, tired or otherwise uncomfortable. He wants to be able to pick up on the tiniest hints so that he can get you out of a situation that’s causing issues.

Modern Xiao who’s always up before you, and if you haven’t been sleeping well or working too much, he would get your favorite drink and bring it back before leaving it on your bedside table with a note. ("I know you didn't sleep well last night, I hope tonight is easier. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. I'll try to come home early. And don't worry about dinner, I'm bringing something home on my way. Love you. -X")

Modern Xiao who presses a kiss to your cheek or forehead before he leaves for work each morning, muttering a very soft “I’m leaving, bye.” He doesn’t want to wake you up, but hates leaving without a goodbye.

Modern Xiao who doesn’t hesitate to offer you his jacket if he has the slightest suspicion you might be cold. It’s sort of funny how much he treats you like you’re made of glass, but please don’t tease him. He does it out of love.

Modern Xiao who automatically gives you scary dog privileges. Congratulations! Your boyfriend might not be tall, but he certainly doesn’t need height to be intimidating. You tell people he’s actually really sweet, but few believe you.

Modern Xiao with his motorcycle and leather jacket and cutting glare, who loves you more than life itself and would do anything to keep you safe.

Not to imply that JoJo is deep but... Sometimes I think about how Josuke has TWO foils in terms of abilities... And they take complete opposite roles in the story. You have Josuke, who heals, then you have Okuyasu and Kira who both destroy things completely. Their powers are different, but the results are similar. And, like, the contrast between their roles hits me hard because Okuyasu grew up in a shithole and he tries so hard to be a good person. His destructive powers gave him empathy. Meanwhile, Kira had, presumably, a really normal life and ended up being a murderer. Kira is the villain, Okuyasu is the protagonist's best friend. Okuyasu has spent his whole life controling his destructive potential, and in the end??? When Okuyasu saves Josuke by using his destructive powers for good??? To literally erase another person's destructive potential??? Poetic fucking cinema. Okuyasu is the stupid, destructive foil to the smart, healer protagonist, but he's also the empathetic foil to the calculated villain. It's a foil pyramid. Part 4 drives me insane for real.
