I finally continued my Mage Alear run in Engage today! Is this run a good idea? No. Do I get to monopolize Emblem Soren for myself? Yes!

Question: for my fire emblem modern AU, I intend to have both genders of the characters. What should I name them? It would seem an odd thing for both of them to be called the same thing, but I don't want to stray too far from the original since I like most of the opposite genders of the characters just as much. Ideas?

Those are some lovely headcanons! I think Corrin would be happy and comfortable with their dragon form too, especially considering their smash move set and their fe warriors move set, where they sort of phase in and out of it all the time! I wish that they’d given us Alear’s dragon form too, but I really enjoyed Engage regardless!

Those are some solid ships too! I’m not so sure what ships I have for Corrin, considering that most folk in Nohr and Hoshido seem to be related to them, but Jakob was very nice to me at the beginning so I quite like him. (I would marry Xander in a heartbeat if he wasn’t Corrin’s sibling lol) I do have a crack ship for male Corrin though, since I randomly mained him in smash before I discovered fire emblem, a friend mained beyonetta and now I am cursed with sort of shipping them XD. I prefer f!AlearXAlfred and sort of gravitated towards m!AlearXNel for engage ships :) (Although, Yunakalear isn’t bad either) I had never considered shipping Alear and Corrin, it’s kind of a vibe!

Alear is the first avatar type character where I’ve picked to play the female one, most of what I’ve enjoyed over the years has had a lot of male main characters and due to a whole bunch of things, I grew up with a lot of (mostly internalised) sexism, and she’s really helped me to feel more comfortable being a woman (I am healing my inner child bit by bit even though I’m an adult lol) So she’s very blorbo to me.

I also love Corrin, I really like playing him in smash, and her in fe warriors! (I’m struggling my way through conquest at the moment but haven’t yet played the hoshido route)

I hope it was Ok that I replied by gushing about them too, I just love finding people that like similar stuff! XD

I'm definitely a "has way too many favorites to list them all" type of person, but I'll focus on Corrin and Alear for now!

I've always really loved dragons, so it's not that surprising I gravitate towards the dragon characters lol! Even tho Alear never ends up transforming, I really like to think that their dragon form would be a messy mix of fell and devine. They wouldn't be very confident in their dragon state, but they'll grow more comfortable with it over time!

Also, pointy ears!!!! I sometimes forget they don't actually have those in canon and feel robbed all over again once I remember..

For Corrin I really like to imagine they show their dragon features more casually + it actually being more comfortable for them to do so instead of surpressing them! I especially like their tail<3

I honestly like a lot of ships as long as it has cute art and/or fics haha! I just like seeing favs happy and loved🩷 but special shoutouts to f!Alear/f!Corrin, m!Alear/Alfred, m!Alear/Pandreo and m!Corrin/Silas as some stand out ships👍🏻

And lastly, I just really love how sweet and compassionate they are at their core.. they're simply comfort characters through and through

My modern AU design of Alear!

Design explanations under the cut:

I am keeping the ludicrous hair colours and eye colours of all the characters, but I think Alear dyes her red hair half blue, I have a reason for this in the story.

She likes slouchy clothes for around the house I think (outfit 1), and the Pepsi logo is obviously a reference to her nickname Pepsi chan.

I went for the second one a sort of decora kai inspired outfit, since the bright colours and too-muchness of the style seemed reminiscent of the engage designs.

The last one is a bit more similar to her normal outfit but with a modern spin.

Both Byleth and Alear can turn back time, and corrin can transform into a dragon, I’d say that even being one of the most powerful magic welders of all time Robin can’t beat two time loopers and a dragon. Corrin is also doomed again because of the time looping, it doesn’t matter how much better you are than your opponent if they can redo their moves.

If Alear can summon emblems and assuming the emblems have all the powers and abilities of the their counterparts, then Alear can probably go have a coffee whilst the other heroes are locked in perfectly symmetrical violence.

If they don’t have emblems then it’s just a matter of who can time loop best and last the longest. Alear is a dragon so is physically more capable than a human and is also an emblem, so not really able to be killed (although they seem to retreat to their ring forms when an ally wielding them is killed/ retreats, so probably Alear would become the ring form emblem if Byleth killed their body). Byleth is a highly trained mercenary with the goddess’ power. Either they’d be locked in eternal combat, since time looping, or since Byleth’s time powers come from Sothis and are therefore a permanent feature, they could eventually take Alear’s time stone and defeat them.

With no extra abilities, my money is still on mercenary Byleth, but the ranking would then be Alear dies first, then Corrin and Robin are close, but I guess it would be corrin next since Robin’s a tactician, and then Byleth, since they’re a trained mercenary and their army’s tactician

Feel free to add corrections but that’s my essay!

edit… I forgot Shez. I don’t really know about Arval’s powers since I haven’t played the game yet, so I’m afraid someone else with knowledge will have to enlighten me!

If you put all the fire emblem avatars in a death match/fight till the last one is standing. Who would you think would win and why?

Like all of them are at their pull power/most powerful form in their respective games. Probably to make it more interesting.
