Ozai is so pathetic, like that “take his bending away haha he’s harmless now” trick would never have worked on Zuko, if you took his bending away he’d just grab his swords and come at you twice as hard, Azula doesn’t have swords or anything but she’s pretty good at hand to hand and amazing at talking her way out of problems, Iroh bust himself out of prison with no bending at all, meanwhile Ozai? Gets his bending taken away and then just collapses, doesn’t even try anymore, then just sits in prison and tries to get into Zuko’s head some more, he could have trained up and tried to break out too! But no! Bet he can’t break steel bars with his bare hands. Bet he can’t kick a steel lever in two. Bet he can’t even do a flip.

Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.

He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.

And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.

in the tolkien fandom u have to be rlly careful when u talk abt the silmarillion bcs like if i just say “oh yeah i read it” ill get bombarded with comments of ppl talking abt heracarthanician or cilibrieous and shit when in actuality i retained absolutely none of the information in the book. like bro. i know there was a demigoddess a dog an oath some gods and a great but tragic red haired warrior elf but thats it, please stop asking about my opinion of the high elf fucksilor in the 46th chapter and how his character that only appeared in one paragraph changed the entire course of the book. i dont know these things

In The Fall of Gondolin, we learn that Melkor cursed the enslaved Noldor after the Nirnaeth so they suffered from an intense paranoia, always fearing that the Dark Foe was near. If this had happened earlier, or in one of my AUs, I have to wonder how if would have effected Maedhros. 

It also says in The Silmarillion the Maedhros was so wary that Melkor was unable even to attack his camps for several years during one of the sieges. Just some thoughts I want to return to/write more about later. 

this is fascinating to me also, Morgoth sent out various creatures to track down anyone who had escaped Angband.

so I love both the Annihilation book(s) and movie BUT something important to note if you're going in for the first time is they are very different. I feel like the movie is a good introduction to the world while the books are the real meat of it. they're like sisters not twins. the director said he specifically didn't follow the exact plot of the book.

I actually like this cause the movie doesn't spoil the book, it's like an accompanying piece (I understand people who dont like this choice though)

so if you're unsure if you're going to invest time in the book series (the first book is about 200 pages so it's pretty quick) I'd say watch the movie and see if you like the world being presented. (:

like I ship Aredhel/Celegorm very badly but in such a specific way. she needs to be aro. she's not in love, he absolutely is. they're not exclusive. sometimes he wishes they were (only sometimes). they are best friends. she's one of the bros. they are fucking, hardcore and nasty. he is her favourite, she would never have married him. he values her freedom, he wishes so badly he could have her for himself. he would kill for her. he would leave her on the ice again if he were asked to. she thinks Huan should have been hers. she does not forgive him, she still misses him. ride or die buddy pals. family feud in full swing. did I mention that they fuck nasty
