he goal is not to eliminate unpredictability altogether but to design a product that can adapt and learn alongside its users.

3- Perpetuating a stagnant talent environment. According to Dr. John Woods, Provost and CAO at University of Phoenix, “Our research finds that workers can best benefit from employers providing clearer and more personalized opportunities to advance internally. Workers are more than twice as likely to feel like they do not have the ability to advance in their career at their current job when their company does not currently provide a mentorship program (49% vs. 18%), skills development opportunities (55% vs. 23%), internal mobility (55% vs. 19%) or career path guidelines (53% vs. 19%)—so those specific offerings are the best place leaders can start to combat talent stagnation.”

What does “political” mean? At its broadest level, politics determine the ways people in groups make decisions. This means politics are at play in everything we do and experience in our teams, workplaces, organisations, nations and society at large - nothing is out of scope for being political.
We might not be able to directly influence some of these issues and the challenges faced by people in the workplace, but we can, at a bare minimum, acknowledge them and give people the opportunity, time and space to talk about how they affect them in real, material ways. This is the first step. We can then think about ways that we can actually make the world of work a safer, more equitable and higher performing place for everyone, and put those ways into practice.
