It's about freedom, it's about context and mystery, and, most important of all, it's about Mooper's Chicken
Trauma Team was pretty silly in some ways, but the motion comic format was a nice touch. And I haven't seen anything quite like their playful timeline - all the events are listed in chronological order, but you don't have to play them in that order, and a lot of events only get their full context by playing different routes: okay, you're treating people for wounds from a bomb...wait, what? Who set this bomb and why? So you're nudged towards trying to make sense of the timeline.
And if you do end up deciding to play the events in order, you're forced to frequently switch characters, which is also the most fun way to play the game. It's really clever when a game nudges you into playing it the fun way.
But if you instead want to focus on a given character, seeing their whole arc uninterrupted (or just to really practice a set of mechanics) you can absolutely do that instead. I don't personally recommend it - my friend who played that way got bored - but you're free to play in whatever order you please.
It's not like Starcraft 2, where you have freedom with the mission order but, because some abilities are only unlocked on certain missions, some orders end up being much easier than others. That's interesting on its own, but not as free.

Was musing earlier today about how the Phineas and Ferb bits people excerpt on the internet are really exactly as funny in context - it's not held together by much, but a lot of the gags are quite solid. "It's like Family Guy for kids," I concluded. My sister provided the feedback that this was "certainly a sentence [I'd] made."
It certainly was.

Me seeing other posters also make trans metaphors and headcanons and so on and so forth:

she hates an innate, biological part of her that everyone thinks makes her charming and unique. she grew up feeling like a circus freak. she doesn't understand how anyone could look at her naked body and desire her. she doesn't like to be touched, but craves warmth. she feels that part of her makes how she expresses herself seem less accurate and genuine, so she wants to get rid of it at any cost.

Makin' my mans
Dragon's Dogma 2's character creator is available for free on its own and my fellow criminals it is good. It is so good. Just a really really high degree of customization of all elements, including things you wouldn't expect to be there at all. There's a much wider variety of possible body types than usual (if you have options at all). You can make someone really old, not just white hair and some painted-on wrinkles but holy shit that little guy's old. Black sclera, right thera. You can give your little blorbo bad posture.
Strangely, despite the unearthly range of skin and eye colours, the hair colour falls into a relatively narrow range - still wide, but not as wide as the rest of it. The way they do straight hair doesn't look very good, at least on my computer. Fluffy or kinky hair looks good though.
Still would jump on the bandwagon that it's the best character creator I've seen so far.

Artistic Carbon Monoxide
Plus-size Elf is execrable on its own merits, but it also clogged up the cool niche of fat elves. Elves are cool, but in the concept that they're all beautiful and glamorous, there's a lot of ugly prejudices you can infer from their design, if they're not said outright. Fat elves are a middle finger to some of those prejudices, but are also rad as hell in their own right.
Literally the one thing you'd hope out of a comic called Plus-size Elf is that is, either thematically or just visually, a celebration of plus-size elves. But instead it's the hideous offspring of diet culture and fetishization, without any merit to it.
With most things that suck, you can just not read it, but here I'm convinced that it's invaded the fat elf bloodstream and displaced stuff with genuine merit like some kind of artistic carbon monoxide. It's set fat elves back by decades (which is not a lot in the elf lifespan, but it's huge in artistic movements).
Who would want to make more things with fat elves when, not only has it been done in a very high profile, but it was cringe?

The regrets of an alien tyrant - Ways I could've improved my run of Cheeseaged Exocolonist
I really underrated the impact of Studying Humanities. Persuasion and creativity are two of the best skills, and there's no other way to consistently level Persuasion until Assisting the Governor...which requires either persuasion or high loyalty, and becoming governor for the first time requires low loyalty. So this was a catch-22 that took most of the game to fix.
I got almost all the cool events, but I missed a couple. In particular, I wanted a pet robot and to learn about the human fleet. Curiously, I didn't get a wormhole option to already know about the human fleet. I'm not sure if there is one, or where it would be.
I should have done even more advance planning. There were a couple times when I overlooked something critical and had to backtrack, which was far and away the least fun part of this run.
I could've got Marzipan's jacket for free, if I'd managed to spend my kudos on something useful instead. The trade-off is that I have to save for the Brain Trainer and the Vintage Focus Device - the sooner I can get those, the better. There's probably an optimal timing and purchase order where you can get the jacket without wasting money and without having to put off talking to Marzipan (and thus her friendship level stagnating). Maybe rushing creativity and buying the emojiproji early?
Getting Vace to 100 friendship would have been a feather in my cap. 90 friendship made him a better person, but 100 friendship keeps him around. I came close to this, but I got 100 Creativity too late (see "poor planning"). Between that and even more harvesting, I could've gotten to 100. I could've also gotten the white astrantia for +10 friendship, but I could already get 100 friendship with everyone else, and there's something very unappetizing about getting that flower, saving it for three years and then giving it to the biggest dickhole of all the kids. Not Tangent, not Marzipan. Vace. That one hurts.
I could've gotten Sym much earlier on if I'd recalled which events lead to finding him. In particular, that you have to fail them. That's the hard part.

I know the IOF are far past recognizing the humanity of any Palestinian, but it seems that they are too far gone to even tell what the world sees as inhumane at all. They're claiming that the massacre in Northern Gaza wasn't due to the IOF opening fire, and instead saying it's because of a stampede caused by people rushing to obtain bags of flour. Even if this wasn't such a blatantly disgusting and cowardly lie, does this "truth" that you're presenting absolve you? Do you think admitting that the population you're supposedly "taking all measures to avoid unnecessary casualties" for are dying of starvation from the seige you're imposing so much that hundreds of people are scrambling to get flour for their dying families, 150 people dying in the process, does any favors for their argument? Or are they beyond caring what the world thinks of them altogether? They POSTED A VIDEO of the mass rushing to obtain the flour! Not thinking that is damning proof of what they're doing?!

I relish how Starfox 64 gives last names to characters with screentime in the single-digit minutes. The catgirl is not just Katt, it's Katt Monroe, thank you very much. Who is the Monroe family? Who knows.
