i kind of want to rewatch tvd just to get into the nitty gritty of caroline forbes,  so i can make her portrayal focus more on her actual trauma that has not been touched upon in the show.    the sa by d/mon,  the multiple kidnappings and tortures,  the being turned against her will,  being tortured by her father,  the lack of motherly love for a long time,  being the odd one within her friend group,  never the one to be appreciated by men  (connected to her father but also mother).

i will die on the hill that caroline forbes deserved better  (peep the url hehe)  from EVERYONE in her life.    even fucking elena and bonnie acting like they are her friends but talking shit behind her back.    was caroline an easy friend to have back in s1?    absolutely not,  but if you do consider her to be your friend,  tell her instead of shit talking about her :)    her mother not prioritising her?    her father hating her after she turned against her will?    funny thing is,  all things considered,  the villains,  aka klaus and katherine,  treated caroline with more respect in the end,  like if you consider like from meeting to dying point.    everyone else,  at least at some point,  disregarded caroline as the weak,  needless,  useless,  stupid thing in the background.

say what you will about klaus mikaelson,  like yeah,  he’s a bad guy and has done terrible things to caroline (less so) and her friends,  but of all the men she has been with,  he was the only one to truly respect her and consider her his equal the entire time he’s known her,  whereas everyone else  (and yes,  that includes stefan in s1)  belittled her,  disrespected her,  treated her like a dumb lil bitchy blonde and nothing else and i can bring receipts.

      while he wasn’t aware of the extent to which she valued the necklace, he knew it held a special place in her heart given all the times he had caught her mentioning it or her reaction to seeing it .      ‘  let’s just say i have good observational skills . ’    he almost prided himself at that, but he didn’t dwell much on it .  at her silent request, he sat up on the bed to assist her right away,     ‘  sure— ’   fingers grazed her skin as he took a moment to clip the necklace around her neck .  as he remained silent for a moment, he stared down at the back of her neck and pursed his lips together, suppressing his mind from formulating impossible scenarios in his head … 

her   heart   is   racing   from   excitment:      she's   not   sure   dean   knows   exactly   how   much   this   means   to   her      (   reminder   of   her   dead   mother:      a   necklace   that's   been   lost,      and   can   never   be   retrieved,      but   this   one   is   as   close   of   a   replica   as   caroline's   ever   seen   ).            ❝      -and   i   bought   you   a   mini   car!      ❞            she   turns   around.            ❝      i'm   such   an   idiot.      ❞            she   knows   exactly   how   much   the   jewelry   cost,      and   it   makes   her   cheeks   colour   pink.            ❝      thank   you,      dean.    ��       truly.      ❞            she   moves   closer   and   leans   in   to   place   a   kiss   on   his   cheek.

caroline   knows   absolutely   nothing   about   cars,      but   she   remembers   the   time   dean   told   her   about   his   dream   car      (   it   was   the   spark   in   his   eye,      the   wide   smile   on   his   lips   that   have   engraved   in   her   mind   ).            ❝      wait,      you   got   me   something?!      ❞            she   wasn't   expecting   that,      but   her   smile   grows   bigger.            eyes   settle   on   the   box   before   opening   it   and   she   gasps.            ❝      how   did   you   know?!      ❞            she's   wanted   that   necklace   for   the   longest   time      (   reminded   her   of   the   one   her   mother   used   to   wear,      reminded   her   of   home   ).            ❝      do   you-            do   you   mind?      ❞            she   asks,      handing   him   the   necklace   and   turning   around   so   he   can   put   it   on.
