OOC: Some Updates!

Hey everybody!

I haven’t been posting deadangelos stuff for awhile, I know, but I promise I’m not dead and neither is the blog. This blog is one of my favorite things I’ve ever done and I’d never give up on it, plus I have a lot of story stuff still planned for it.

So why have I been gone?

Basically, my set up was my main laptop, a small drawing tablet, and a secondary laptop. My main laptop was like 5 years old or something? Possibly older? Suffice to say I’ve had it a long time, so it was on it’s last legs and I could barely open any program anymore without it trying to croak. It would lag horribly whenever I tried to upload images to tumblr. Then my tablet broke, but luckily I had a different one on-hand, but my new one is a giant huion tablet with a screen, so I had to get used to drawing on that. Then my second laptop had more or less officially croaked, so I had to move over to my second laptop, which is also a couple years old and staring to break down a little bit. For whatever reason, I can’t use paint tool SAI with this set-up, which is what I usually use for Deadangelos, so I had to learn Clip Studio Paint (not complaining though, I love it to bits). Then some misc personal brain bleugh and health stuff (not the plague, no worries, half of it is actually quite good) so I’ve had to shelve some stuff for a bit. Right now I’m waiting on getting a new computer, but my current set-up is stable enough that I’m still able to draw and everything.

All that aside, I’m genuinely hoping to get back to Deadangelos soon! The Grace Event is almost done and I have a lot of that and the TBM Event planned, which I’m really excited for. Also my art has improved even more and I’ve started making some animatics! There might even be a Deadangelos animatic in the works sometime soon ;) but don’t hold me to that.

The show will go on!!!! I mean it!!

Mun Updates WOOOO

HELLO I LIVE

If you haven’t seen already, by the time this posts the annual pjo pride art should be up over at @deadangelos. Very very fun. Got some new faces: Piper and Shel have been added to the lineup. Apollo is also no longer human. Magnus is distressed yet again, as is tradition at this point. 3/4 of the annual canonical PJO Pride Art features Magnus being distressed. Will this year is sparing everyone of the socks and sandals outfit, though I absolutely intend to continue tormenting everyone with that. Piper i have become incapable of drawing without DIY jorts, because let’s be real that’s exactly her vibes. Also I can never draw Lavinia without giving her pride color hair because the opportunity is there and I find it fun. Also Alex has heelys because I Said So.

The art is a bit fashionably late into the month but in my defense: My sleep schedule is, as the kids say, bad. I’m typing this at about 5am. Whoops.

I was very strongly considering including Reyna in this year’s pride art and only didn’t because she’s technically only aspec-coded, not canonically ace, and I try to keep the lineup of the pride art to the canonically queer major characters in the series and their partners if applicable. This is entirely just cause there’s a good number of canonically queer PJO characters and I already have to draw 12 annually. Drawing like, half of CHB would hurt me. I do really wanna at least doodle some ace pride art of Reyna though cause I adore her and also of course getting to draw one of my pride flags :Dc

Misc blog things: Grace Event will be returning soon!!! I swear!!! The blog’s not dead!!! I have a really long complicated plot that i’ve had planned out for like a year that covers events literally into Tower Of Nero and beyond so, yknow. Not just gonna drop that ball. Might start posting more here, especially with some fun little tid-bits about OCs and stuff on the blog and probably just general ramblings and research I do for writing and design. If yall ever have any questions or want to know about the random minute obsessive detail I put into things, the inbox for this blog is always open. There are also multiple mods so you may hear some input from them sometimes as well.

Mun Updates: Starting therapy tomorrow, very very cool. Also been figuring out how to use Adobe Premire and made a couple animatics and other silly videos. And bought Clip Studio Paint, so I will probably be messing around with that a ton. I am so very very tempted to make a Deadangelos animatic or two. Very tempted. insert eyes emoji here.

Ok, I've found the main blog yesterday, and I absolutely love the art, but I'm absolutely clueless as to what is going on rn lmao

Currently on the blog we’re in the midst of an event called the Grace Event, which is a subsection of the TBM (The Burning Maze) event.

The Grace Event is essentially Jason discussing his past at Camp Jupiter with Nico, detailing things such as how he met Reyna, Nico, and his experiences at the Battle of Mount Tamalpais (Camp Jupiter’s battle with the Titan Army at the same time as the Battle for Manhattan).

This event features several OCs: Cadeyrn “Cade” Avitus (Legacy of Summanus) and Dee Keystone (child of Janus) are the praetors before Jason and Reyna, and their mentors. Athanasius “Mac” Macbeth (Legacy of Dis Pater) is Cade’s boyfriend and a centurion of the 5th cohort before Jason and Reyna. Brennus Brinley (Legacy of Bacchus) is Mac’s cousin, the augur before Octavian, and Octavian’s mentor. Rain Driscoll (daughter of Arke) is a Greek member of the Titan Army, formerly part of CHB, and Dee’s girlfriend.

In the most recent posts, the Battle of Mount Tamalpais has begun, and the Romans are going to battle against the Titan Army forces stationed there as they fight their way to Saturn’s Palace.

so basically: this is event is primarily a flashback to Jason’s backstory and his life before the events of The Lost Hero, told with some occasional interjections from Jason and Nico. Also featuring some OCs to fill in character gaps.

These types of narrative events are pretty frequent. [This] tag on the blog has every event that’s been on the blog so far. The About page on the blog’s sidebar also includes a section of differences from canon in the blog (I need to update it for the most recent event, but just about everything else is there).

Some Deadangleos Grace Event OC family trees.

Notes:

Julius Brinley is older than Elizabeth Macbeth. “Grandpa” Macbeth died and “Grandma” Macbeth then had a child with Dīs Pater. There’s a lot of tension surrounding those two half-siblings, which is part of why there’s so much conflict between the Brinleys and the Macbeths.

The rest of the conflict is because the Brinleys are just power-hungry dicks.

Messalina is older than Brennus by a few years (about 4). Mac and Brennus are the same age.

Layla Avitus is older than her brother Cato.

Duff is about the same age as Cadeyrn and also chaotically nonbinary (their pronouns are linked to different types weather).

And if anyone was curious - the current plotline going on in the Grace Event featuring Mac, Cade, Dee, and Brennus takes place from approximately The Titan’s Curse [how Jason met Reyna] to The Last Olympian [Basically everything else]. During TLO, Mac, Cade, Dee, and Brennus are all in their early 20s.
