For the record, accidentally tapping on Tumblr live when it randomly appears every week does not count as using Tumblr live for the sake of this poll. This is only referring to purposeful use of the feature.
I'd appreciate it if people could share this for a larger sample size!

We literally could’ve not had to worry about credit, money, so many different responsibilities. We could be bartering our goods, being creative, eating fresh fruit and veg from our gardens, raising chickens, reading and painting. I’m so upset that people decided life has to be fast and vicious. It’s not for everyone. Life as it stands is not for me. I want to live slowly, intentionally, creatively, and with love.

Unlikely Pair - Chapter II | Eddie Munson x Sinclair!Reader
Who: Sinclair!Reader (AFAB), Eddie Munson
What: Eddie and reader spend the day at some of their favorite places and get to know one another better in the process.
Word Count: 3,033 (whoops)
Triggers: Cursing (always), drug mention
Author's Notes: Listen, I got carried away with this one. I was giggling and kicking my feet while writing it, so enjoy Eddie just being a cutie, I guess. Do not steal, repost, take credit, or any other lame shit. Please DO enjoy!
Chapter I
"You're out of bed?"
Your dad stared at you from his recliner and you snorted at the look on his face as you finished lacing up your Chucks.
"It's one in the afternoon."
"On a Saturday and you're out of bed. And dressed!" He eyed you suspiciously. "Where're you off to? Going to see that Daniel again?"
You rolled your eyes. "I went on three dates with the guy and now we're apparently bonded for life. No Dad, I'm hanging out with a friend." You ducked into the kitchen so that you wouldn't have to answer anymore questions, but came face-to-face with your mom and sister who looked just as stunned as your father had been.
"You look nice." Your mom took in your long skirt, cropped shirt, and makeup.
"A little too nice." Erica echoed with narrowed eyes.
"Thanks." You ignored your sister, grabbed two cans of Coke from the fridge, and made your way to the front door. "I'm hanging out with a friend," you said loudly because you knew your dad would still be listening, "I'll call if I'm gonna be late. Bye, love you." You threw your bag over your shoulder and stepped out onto the porch, but your torment didn't end because Lucas, Mike, and Dustin had chosen your family's lawn as their hangout spot for the day. "You've gotta be fucking kidding me."
"Where're you going?" Lucas asked.
"I get dressed and everyone loses their damn mind." You frowned.
"Wait, is that...?" Dustin's eyes locked on an old van that had dangerously turned onto your street on two wheels.
"Where're you going?" Lucas repeated.
Eddie screeched to a stop at the curb and you could all hear loud music coming from his radio. He leaned over the passenger seat and smiled at the boys on the lawn. "Hey!"
"Hey?" Mike and Dustin answered together.
Lucas turned back to you with wide eyes. "No way."
You heard the door open and turned to see Erica's face as she peered out. "I knew it!"
"Bye!" You jogged across the yard and jumped into the van. "Please drive."
Eddie didn't ask any questions as he got you out of your neighborhood and onto the busy highway.
"Next time I'm sneaking out." You put your bag down and handed him one of the Cokes.
He chuckled and gratefully took the drink. "It couldn't have been that bad."
"It was worse than bad, I'm lucky to have made it out at all, so you better make today worth it. Where's this record shop?" The night before he had proposed that you accompany him to his favorite store and because you would have agreed to just about anything that got you out of the house and away from your family for a little while, you had excitedly agreed.
Eddie slammed on his brakes, nearly rear-ending the car in front of him as they slowed down for the yellow light. "We could've made it." He mumbled to himself as he licked up the Coke he had spilled onto his hand. "It's two towns over... if you're okay with going that far?" It seemed to occur to him that you might not be comfortable with traveling outside of Hawkins with him alone.
You shrugged. "That sounds perfect. I did skip breakfast though, so could we stop and get something to eat on the way back?"
"'Course."
You made the conscious decision to keep your eyes glued to anything inside the van because if you looked out and saw how fast Eddie was driving you would be setting yourself up for a heart attack. You allowed your mind to wander as you listened to the music you didn't recognize and tried to stifle a laugh as Eddie headbanged in his seat to a guitar solo. Another pang of guilt hit you as you watched him: why hadn't you paid any attention to him while the two of you shared classes?
"I think you're in trouble with your sister." He turned down the radio just enough for you to hear him. "She didn't look happy."
"I think you're gonna have more explaining to do than me, she doesn't take kindly to people who just whisk her sister off to unknown locations without her permission." You smirked. "There was this guy, Daniel -"
"She couldn't stand him." Eddie finished. You looked at him in surprise, but he just laughed. "She talked about it all the time after Hellfire. I think you should make it a point to spend more time with her, I think that's all she wants. She really looks up to you, y'know. She just wants to hang out with her cool older sister."
"Oh." You looked down at your hands. "She never told me that."
"Of course she didn't, she has about as much pride as he does sass, but it's true." He pulled into the parking lot and had jumped out and circled around to open your door before you could blink. You took his hand and slid out of the van while he grabbed your bag and handed it to you. "She has more in common with you than Lucas, that's for sure. The kid's a freshman and he's already stomping around school with the older basketball players."
"Well, if his ego gets too big you just let me know. I won't have a stuck up prick as a brother." He led you into the small building and you smiled - all along the walls and in display shelves in the middle of the floor were rows upon rows of records and, in a back room, you could see several record players for sale as well.
Eddie knew the layout of the shop like the back of his hand because he moved along the rows and found exactly what he was looking for. As he rifled through a few records you looked around, still in awe of the many different options laid out before you. Unfortunately, there was a crowd packed into the tiny space, so you unconsciously moved closer to Eddie's taller frame and reached out to hang onto the sleeve of his jacket for fear that you might get separated. He looked down at your hand then back up at your face.
"You okay?"
You nodded. "Yeah. This place is cool."
He nodded and went back to his search. He didn't say anything about your grip on his sleeve, but he held out his arm at an awkward angle and you realized that he wanted you to loop your arm through his. You did so and a rush of relief washed over you - it would be impossible to get separated from him now.
"I've been coming here for years, my uncle would drive me out whenever he could before I got my license. It's gotten a lot more popular though, it used to always be pretty much empty whenever I came. Ah!" He held up a record with a smile and looked it over as though it were a newborn baby. "There she is."
You looked around his arm to see what he had pulled from the shelf and raised a brow. "Metallica?"
"Not a fan?" He moved on to the next shelf, the Metallica record stuffed under his arm.
"I only know one of their songs."
"Which one?"
"For Whom the Bell Tolls."
Eddie looked at you with newfound respect. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." You couldn't help but smile whenever he looked at you.
"Gotta favorite band or artist?"
"I have two favorite bands: Queen and Fleetwood Mac."
"That would explain your clothes." He said, gesturing to your flowy skirt.
"I would take a bullet for Stevie Nicks if she asked me to." You responded.
"Just don't do as many drugs as she does, okay?" He joked.
"You're my new favorite drug dealer - just don't sell it to me and we'll be good." You laughed. "I also like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin -"
"Beautiful." He commented with a nod of satisfaction.
" - Michael Jackson, George Michael... if that answers your question."
"It does, thank you. How many records do you have?"
"In my own personal collection? Two: Fleetwood Mac and Janis Joplin. But I don't have my own record player, the only one we have was from my grandma and it's in the living room for everyone to listen to." You looked up to find Eddie staring at you. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Hey, you know I play guitar, right?"
"Of course you do. Are you any good?"
"The five drunks who come to listen to my band seem to think so." He joked and pulled another album from the shelf and studied the back for a long moment. "You should come see us." He added tentatively, his ears turning pink.
"Tell me when and where and I'll be there."
"Really?"
There was an edge of disbelief in his voice. You smiled at him and nodded.
"Yeah, of course. I'll bring my fake ID so that I can really blend in with the drunks. It's also been a while since I've gotten to use it, you're just giving me an excuse to relive the days when I was a whole hell of a lot more fun."
"I don't know Sinclair, I don't wanna be a bad influence."
"Oh, bite me. Something tells me that's exactly what you want, Munson."
The two of you carried on easy conversation as you browsed through the rest of the shop and even stepped into the back room to check out the different record players in the name of wasting time. By the time you finally stepped back out into the afternoon sun Eddie had bought three new records and your cheeks hurt from smiling so much. He was leading you back to the van when you spotted a bookstore across the parking lot.
"Ever been there?" You pointed.
Eddie shook his head. "No."
You started walking toward your new destination, your arm still looped with his so that you were dragging him alongside you.
"I wonder if they have anything good, it's been a long time since I bought a book just for casual reading and not for homework."
Eddie matched your pace, sensing the excitement rolling off of you.
The bookstore was a lot less packed than the record shop and your body automatically started to relax when the smell of ink and hints of coffee flooded you with a feeling of familiarity. You gently separated yourself from Eddie and started to walk through the aisles, vaguely aware that he was trailing closely behind you. You weren't sure if it was because of the quietness of the place or because you had a serious, deep-in-thought look on your face, but he remained silent, not wanting to break your concentration. After a couple of minutes you picked up a worn copy of Romeo and Juliet and held it up for him to see.
"A classic."
He wrinkled his nose. "Reading it in English was more than enough for me."
You giggled and placed it back down. "Not into romance?"
"I didn't say that." He smiled at you when you looked back at him, shocked by his confession. "I just think those two are overrated."
"You think Romeo and Juliet are overrated?"
"Yeah. If I'm indulging in a romance I don't want tragedy - believe it or not, sweetheart, I'm a sucker for happy endings. Leave the tragedies for the horror movies."
You looked him over, seeing him in a different light. "Okay, how about this: if I had to read any book that you recommended, front to back, what would it be?"
A slow smile spread across his face; unthinking, he grabbed onto your hand and hastily began looking through the aisles, tripping himself up from time to time in his excitement. He finally found the section he was looking for and you watched as the tip of his tongue stuck out, the telltale sign that he was lost in thought. He let out a sigh when he finally found what he was looking for, pulled it from the shelf, and placed it into your free hand.
"I didn't think they would actually have it. But that, I would recommend that."
You looked down at the book in your hand and laughed. The Lord of the Rings. Of course.
"Okay." You smiled up at him, clutching the book to your chest.
"Wait, you're actually gonna read it?"
You frowned. "I was... do you not want me to?"
You felt his hand squeeze yours.
"I think you should, but don't hate me if you don't like it."
"I couldn't hate you."
The air between the two of you became electrified and you stepped closer to him and when he smiled you smiled back and stood on your tiptoes, your eyes trained on his lips.
"Excuse me."
You awkwardly moved out of the way of the woman who was trying to get around the two of you and the entire atmosphere shattered. Eddie let go of your hand and looked down at the ground and you pretended to be very interested in the cover of the book that he had given you.
Eddie attempted to break the awkward silence. "Maybe you can pass it down to Erica when you're finished."
You nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure she would like that."
The rest of the evening went by in a blissful blur: after the bookstore you ended up at an antique shop and bought a few knickknacks, but when Eddie heard your stomach begin to rumble he refused to let you continue on your shopping spree until you had some food in your stomach. He chose a nearby restaurant and you had the best time you had had in a long time just sitting across from him and listening to his outrageous stories, although you were sure only a small percent of them were actually true, but he was such a good storyteller that you didn't care about the outrageousness of something like him once defending his uncle against a bear while on a camping trip. Were bears even in Indiana? You didn't know, but what you did know what that you adored the way his eyes glazed over while recalling it all and the way he absolutely had to wave his hands and arms around while speaking. After your early dinner he bought the two of you ice cream, which you enjoyed on the ride back to your house. You noticed that Eddie drove a lot slower than he had before.
By the time you were walking up the path to your front door the sun was almost completely set and your hand was once again trapped in Eddie's, although you didn't remember ever reaching for it. He was prattling on about something to do with Dungeons and Dragons, something you could not for the life of you understand, but you listened carefully because you enjoyed the passion in his voice; you liked that he was a talker because you were naturally more of a listener - the two of you balanced each other out nicely.
"You don't actually have to read that book, by the way."
You looked up and saw that he was blushing, his eyes fixed on a small shopping bag hung on your arm with the bookstore's logo printed across it.
You smiled. "What if I told you that I wanna read it?"
"I'd say that you're lying."
"Wow." You pretended to be offended.
He chuckled and you could feel the end of your day drawing nearer, something that you wanted desperately to hold off as long as possible.
"Thanks for today, I really needed it."
Eddie nodded. "Anytime, and I mean that."
"Don't say that, you're gonna get sick of me."
He shook his head. "Not possible. Just don't forget about me during summer break when all of your college friends come back to town, okay?"
"I don't think you have anything to worry about there, I had a lot more fun with you today than I've had with them in a very long time."
"You mean that?"
"I wouldn't lie to you. Well, I would, but not about this."
You shared a laugh and then it was quiet again. You got the feeling that Eddie didn't want to leave just as much as you didn't want him to.
The porch light flickered twice.
"Mother fu-" You started, but Eddie's laugh cut you off; he found the situation absolutely hilarious.
"I guess that's my cue. Talk to you soon, Sinclair?"
"Yeah." You reached out for the door but stopped yourself. "Actually, there's something -" You placed all of your shopping bags down and cupped Eddie's face between your hands before bringing him down far enough for you to place your lips against his.
The kiss was slow at first, but once he was over the initial shock of it, Eddie smiled and wrapped his arms around your waist. You were completely lost in one another, ignoring the porch light when it started to flicker repeatedly and faster than before. You slid your hands from his face down to his chest, feeling the outline of his necklace under his shirt, and his tongue poked at your bottom lip, asking for entry. You had just pulled him closer when the front door was pulled open.
"Porch light means it's time to say goodbye." Your dad grumbled.
You and Eddie sprang apart, both of you going red in the face, and you avoided everyone's eyes as you picked up your bags.
"I'll call you." You said to him in a soft voice.
"Yeah, talk to you later."
You smiled at him then pushed past your dad and brother; your dad followed you into the house but Lucas stayed put. Before you were able to get up the stairs you heard your brother utter a stern "Dude, my sister's off limits" before the front door closed with more force than necessary.
You smiled to yourself and thought about how you would love to be a fly on the wall at their next Hellfire meeting when Eddie would be cornered by both of the younger Sinclair kids.

Who: Sinclair!Reader (AFAB), Eddie Munson, brief Lucas and Erica Sinclair
What: Reader is a college freshman who is struggling to find her place in the world. When she runs into Eddie Munson again she sees the opportunity for friendship.
Word Count: 2,253
Triggers: Cursing (I can't write without it because I can't talk without it, whoops), marijuana use, first time poster nerves and (probably) bad writing
Author's Notes: Hiya, Stevie here! This is my very first time ever posting a fic and I'm nervousss. I'm hoping to turn this into a series so please let me know what y'all think! Do not steal, repost, take credit, or any other lame shit. Please DO enjoy!
Chapter II
For about the millionth time that night you looked down at the wristwatch you had received as a graduation present the previous summer. If you were late to get your siblings home before their curfew again you would never hear the end of it from your mom and you knew your dad would follow through with his threat of taking your keys. You stomped on the gas as you sped into Hawkins High's parking lot and drove right up to the front doors where your brother, sister, and another person sat on the curb waiting.
You lowered the volume on the radio and yelled out the open window, "Get in! We have ten minutes to get home before Mom and Dad accuse me of forgetting you losers."
"But you did forget us." Lucas grumbled as he slid into the passenger seat.
"Were you off somewhere with Daniel?" Erica mocked as she got into the backseat. "I'm surprised you have any lips left, you two were probably sucking each other's faces for hours."
You ignored her and turned to the older guy who had gotten to his feet at the same time as your siblings. You recognized him immediately as Eddie Munson, the guy in town most people avoided like the plague.
"Thanks." You called to him. "Had some errands to run." You heard Erica scoff and shot her a threatening look in the rearview mirror. "Need a ride? I have get them home now, but I can give you a lift once I've dropped them off." You looked down at your watch again.
"I've gotta ride." The long-haired man nodded toward the only other vehicle in the parking lot, an old van parked way out from the building. "Just wanted to make sure they got picked up."
You nodded your thanks again, stepped on the gas, and peeled out of the parking lot. You didn't speak again until you had pulled into your driveway with three minutes to spare; you turned to face your brother and sister with a stern face.
"There was a traffic jam."
"Yeah, yeah. We won by the way, if anyone cares." Lucas grumbled and got out of the car.
"The hell's his problem?"
"No one went to his game. Mom and Dad had that dinner thing, I had Hellfire, and you had... what? What was so important that you couldn't go, again?" Erica asked with a smug smirk.
As the two of you got out of the car another thought hit you and you wrapped an arm firmly around your sister's shoulders and pulled her close. "You guys hang out with Eddie Munson?"
"Yeah, he's dungeon master for Hellfire. He offered us a ride since we all thought you'd stood us up, but Lucas said you'd kick our asses if you ended up coming and we weren't there." She looked up into your face and saw a bit of curiosity as you tried to recall any memories of him from high school. "You'd like him, he only produces about three thoughts every hour - you have a lot in common." She wriggled her way out of your grip before you could register what she had said and darted into the house.
That following Friday you were dragged by your parents to Lucas's basketball game because he had complained for days about not having anyone there to support him the last time. Erica had one of her Hellfire meetings and had disappeared almost as soon as the three of you had entered the high school. When the game was finally over you left the gym to wait outside for the rest of your family because you needed the fresh air. You didn't do well in crowds but didn't like to draw attention to it, either. As you rounded the corner you saw another door fly open and a group of laughing boys flooded the hall, one who you immediately recognized.
"Dustin!"
He looked shocked that you had addressed him by name. Among Lucas's friends you weren't necessarily known as the nicest older sister.
"Hey, Erica's in there, it's her week to help Eddie clean." Dustin explained and nervously played with the straps of his backpack.
"Mm." You examined his Hellfire Club t-shirt with a raised brow. "You guys aren't turning my sister into a devil worshipper, are you?"
Dustin shook his head fiercely. "No! Why does everyone think that?"
You pointed to the picture on his shirt, but when he looked down you flicked his nose; he stumbled back a few steps and you laughed. Just then, three more people emerged from the dark room: Mike Wheeler, Erica, and Eddie.
"You two have a ride?" You pointed between Dustin and Mike.
Mike nodded. "Nancy's waiting for us outside." He nudged Dustin and they took off for the doors.
You turned your attention to Erica. "Please go congratulate Lucas, he's still in the gym celebrating." You made yourself look stern as your sister started to protest; she sighed and angrily stomped away.
Eddie chuckled beside you.
"Any tips on how to get her to listen to you?"
You watched him from the corner of your eye. "I taught her everything she knows about being defiant, she has a few ounces of respect for her teacher... but she also knows that I'm not above physical force if and when needed." You added. "We've had our fair share of tussles."
"I didn't know you were related to Lucas and Erica. They're pretty cool kids."
Erica had turned the corner and walked out of sight, so you faced Eddie head on and held out your hand as you introduced yourself.
"I know." He chuckled and shook your hand. "We had some classes together last year. Eddie Munson."
You examined him a bit closer but it wasn't until your eyes landed on the leather jacket and denim vest in his hands that you remembered why he felt so familiar to you.
"You sold to me once!" You exclaimed, then looked around to make sure you were still the only ones in the hallway. "Behind the school, at that picnic table."
His smile grew even wider. "I knew you'd remember!"
You smiled back and pointed toward the doors. "I was on my way out."
"Yeah, right." Eddie pulled on his jacket and vest. "But uh, just wanted you to know... you don't have to worry about Lucas and Erica, I, uh... I wouldn't do anything..."
The sound of a large crowd echoed through the halls - the stampede was coming in your direction. You looked up to see the basketball fans who had finally wrapped up their celebration in the gym; you stepped closer to Eddie and mumbled in his ear.
"Yeah, I know, I just like to give people a hard time. But if you do wanna be a bad influence, at least for a few minutes, could I buy a joint off of you? My guy got his ass arrested."
"Rick?"
"How'd you know?"
"You're always in the know when you're in the business." He nodded. "Yeah, I think I could do that."
You smiled. "I'm gonna tell my parents that I found a ride with someone, meet you at your van?"
Eddie nodded again and smiled. He looked up as the crowd drew nearer then made a beeline for the doors. Your family reached you before you could even peel your eyes away from his retreating figure.
"Congrats." You smiled and poked your brother in the chest.
"Thanks." He beamed.
"What're you doing out here?" Your dad asked.
"Waiting for you. Hey, Nancy Wheeler is outside picking up her brother, I think I'm gonna catch a ride with her if that's okay? We haven't hung out in a while."
Erica's eyes narrowed and wandered to the doors Eddie had just walked through. "You haven't hung out with Nancy Wheeler in years." She reminded you.
You gave her a tight-lipped smile. "No time like the present." You retorted.
Your mom sighed when she sensed one of your squabbles on the horizon. "Fine, but make it home in one piece, please. We'll leave the back door unlocked." She gave you a one armed hug, grabbed your dad's hand, and led him and Lucas out of the building.
Erica, however, stayed put.
"Where're you going?"
"To hang out with Nancy, why don't you buzz off?"
"Mhm. Looked like you and Eddie were having a good conversation."
You laughed. "Wow, maybe you are smarter than you look."
She rolled her eyes and purposefully bumped into you as she left.
You waited until you saw your dad's car leave the parking lot before you went outside. You started in the direction of Eddie's van with your head down, mostly to keep people from noticing you, but also to keep the cold night air from freezing your nose as you practically jogged. You jumped into the passenger seat and closed the door quickly behind you. It was quiet as Eddie stared at you, an unrolled joint in his hands.
"Was I not supposed to get in?" You asked, confused.
"No, I mean, yeah! Yeah, of course. It's cold." He turned his attention back to rolling.
"There's an empty house a street down from my place that's for sale - we could smoke in the backyard. There's a porch swing." You suggested. "I've been using it ever since the old owners put it up for sale and hightailed it out of Hawkins."
"We?" Eddie looked up again.
Your face fell. "Unless you don't want you?"
His cheeks went red. "I just... I'd figured you would want to, I don't know, enjoy it by yourself?"
"What's the fun in that?" You asked and rested your head against the seat. You watched the slow procession of cars as they emptied the parking lot. "I think I'm gonna lose my mind if I don't talk to someone my own age instead of my siblings or parents for a change. Ever since the semester started and all my friends went back to their fancy schools I've been stuck here slowly being bored to death."
It was silent in the van until Eddie handed you the perfectly rolled joint with a kind smile. "If you were looking for a friend all you had to do was ask, sweetheart. Which way to this empty house?"
Tumblr media
Eddie's driving was even wilder than yours, so you were happy to find yourself on the porch swing, your legs tucked underneath you and an old moth bitten blanket that Eddie had found in the back of his van pulled around your shoulders. He had offered to save you from freezing to death by just smoking in the van, but you had declined - you liked being outside, especially at night while everyone else was asleep. It was peaceful and gave you some time to think.
You watched as Eddie lit the joint, his puffy lips wrapped around the end and his face still with concentration. He took a long drag then passed it to you and you did the same.
"Why didn't we talk in school?" You asked after a coughing fit.
"You were cooler than me." He stated matter-of-factly.
You shook your head. You had not been unpopular in high school, but you had always considered yourself more of a floater. You could get along with the band members just as well as you could with people like Steve Harrington. Your lack of a true "clique" was partially why you had never felt like you belonged anywhere.
"That's not true."
"Well, there's also the fact that you have this way of looking through people instead of at them." He took the joint from your fingers and you jumped when his hand bumped into yours. "Sorry." He apologized quickly.
"I've heard that before. My dad says that I have a 'zombie stare', I always thought he was just being dramatic or one of those guys who's always telling women to smile." You chuckled. "Can I tell you something? I think you're pretty cool, like how you don't give a fuck what people think. I care what people think and it's probably the dumbest thing someone could do."
He looked down and if the two of you weren't surrounded by darkness with just moonlight and the faintly burning joint to add hints of light you would have seen that his entire face had turned scarlet.
"What's college like?" He quickly changed the subject.
"Junior college." You corrected him with a sigh. "And I feel like I'm just as lost as I was in high school. I have no idea what I'm doing."
"What's your major?"
"Business."
"Ah, the default." He joked and you shot him a grin.
"Yeah."
He started to slowly push his feet against the ground so that the swing moved. He couldn't sit still to save his life, meanwhile you could have sat there in that one spot for hours without getting the urge to fidget. You watched as the wind from the swing pushed his hair back and forth over his shoulders and how his big brown eyes examined the large backyard you had trespassed into.
"Hey, Eddie?"
"Mhm?"
"I do need a friend. This is me asking nicely."
"Yeah, okay." He almost blinded you with his smile. "Okay. What're you doing tomorrow?"
You let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding. "Whatever you're doing."
For the first time in a long time, you were excited for what the next day would bring.
