Somehow time princess stories hit the nail on the head regarding special interests I've had throughout my life... marie antoinette, the phantom of the opera!

I read the first chapters of a marie antoinette biography back in the day, and it spoke of a friend (I'm not sure if it was gabrielle though) with whom she exchanged letters. Marie expressed her love for her profusely, and her friend also loved her a lot, though most likely in a platonic way. But I love those little things when it comes to historical letters, and I appreciate very much that the historian explored and explained the hints of queerness she found without shying away from them.

So when I played gabrielle's green book and the part about rumors of an affair with the queen popped up, paired with marie's remarks about her pretty eyes and her gentleness... I just felt really cozy and pleased with the memories it brought back to me. This is all. In conclusion, gabrielle I love you.
