I see everyone freaking out about the “we’ve never fucked on YouTube” and “Phil eats ass” but we should talk about the insane amount of hints Dan keeps throwing Phil. Constantly. And then Phil gets it rights and he’s just like “aw wow you’re so smart and amazing” the simp levels are through the roof

okay so in phil's defense i think one reason he -appears- to 'space out' when dan is talking is bc he and dan know almost everything about each other! so when dan shares, for example, his take on secrets and whether people in general are good secret keepers -- phil already knows how dan feels and has heard his take

so it's not that phil doesn't care to listen to dan (bc he does! that's his best friend/soulmate after all), it's just that phil has Heard This One Before, Possibly Multiple Times, so he (it appears to me) is like oh okay it's not super duper necessary that i pay attention to every word -- bc he already knows the gist of what dan's saying about this particular topic bc he's told phil this before.

but when dan is telling us the viewers The Thing he might take some time to say it accurately -- bc as we know, dan likes to be very intentional with his words.

and so we get the dan-yapping phil-space-out-stare
