"Lift your head and look out the window Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go Listen, the birds sing, listen, the bells ring All the living are dead and the dead are all living The war is over and we are beginning"

"Take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die I don't belong, and my beloved, neither do you Those Windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry I'm setting off, but not without my muse"

"They just couldn't see, that it was me needing you, and not you needing me They just couldn't see, that a puppet loosely strung is not who I wanna be They just couldn't see, that it was me needing you, and not you needing me They just couldn't see, that a puppet loosely strung is not who I wanna be"

“‘Cause like constellations a million years away
Every good intention, every good intention
Is interpolation, a line we drew in the array
Clinging to the faces
Clinging to the shapes in the silence” Constellations -The Oh Hellos

The Sand
Warm Sand,
under your feet.
Comforting in the moment,
until you have to put on your shoes.
It was nice at first,
the feeling of the sun's heat.
But now with the grains of sand chafing your toes,
you ask yourself if it was worth it.
If the ocean invited you back, would you refuse?
we know this as we approach the ocean,
what we once loved will cause us to hurt.
but when given the opportunity, we gently step onto the shore.
We hope to never leave.
Despite all efforts, we will eventually have to go back to the boardwalk.
This is a beach, not a desert.
But you can't let that stop you from enjoying the waves,
to love the joy that ends in despair is not naive,
it is life.
