Turning my voice into an instrument has been such a fun journey. I’ve always LOVED to sing. Hearing my amazing mom @62mamaritz sing beautifully in church as a kid always inspired me to cultivate my own sound, and having music in my genes 🎵🧬 allowed me to have a deep connection with the spiritual vibration of the vocal chords and a natural ear👂🏽. Lyrical singing is something we all resonate with, but I have an equal love for vocal inflections and treating the voice like a solo instrument, being able to run up and down scales like a piano 🎹 or guitar, crafting melodic lines. Artists like @bobby.mcferrin and his predecessor @aljarreauofficial were masters of the human voice, able to make thousands of different sounds and tonalities ranging many octaves! It’s from these cats that art forms like modern beat boxing comes from. Now with vocal fx I’m finding that I now have the power to morph my sound into completely new tonal universes!🗣🎙👨🏽‍🚀 • If you don’t have a relationship with your voice, I highly encourage you to develop one. It’s one of the most amazing natural ways to heal your body, mind and spirit. Many of us have been discouraged from singing because we “don’t sound good” or we are “off pitch”. These are relative projections that rob us of the joy of Singing with our natural born human instrument (@humaninstruments 😉) and NEED to be let go! If anyone wants to form a healthy relationship with your voice, singing or want to improve your sound hear to assist. If there’s one thing I learned from Space Camp ‘21 it’s that Family is Truly Forever.💘 When we all come back together and embrace it brings out all the positive energy inside our hearts, it allows us to feel cared for, held, acknowledged, appreciated.
