Emotional Unavailability
The past few days have been eventful to me as I was looking into emotional unavailability. Oftentimes, emotional unavailability has been a potent coping mechanism for me to get through depressive episodes most especially when I have to communicate with other people. It takes a lot to recognize where this is coming from and what exactly do I get from it the more that I engage in it.
If you’ve been in a toxic or abusive relationship, you know how difficult it is to hold on and just keep going. Life becomes meaningless. It’s as if the development of an allergic reaction to social interactions become automatic.
It’s hard. It’s hard to be there when people around you push you over. It’s hard to connect with others when you’re always hurt. It’s hard to be in the moment.
But I don’t want to stay like this, and I’m sure the same is with you. I don’t really have much to say right now but I recognize that it’s a journey.
It’s a process.
And as long as we’re here and working towards it, we’ll get better as time passes.

It’s day 1 again.
I’ve been on a rocky path of self-love the past few months. My destructive tendencies keep getting ahead of me and it’s getting difficult to control them by the day.
Today, I woke up willing to start day 1 of my self-love journey again. There’s nothing wrong with starting all over again. We fall down, but we get up again. This is resilience. And in the journey of self-love, resilience is the key to keep going.
To anyone who needs to hear this:
It’s okay to start again. It’s okay to fall down as long as you get up. Things will be better, alright? :)

It’s really difficult to conjure positive thoughts or any motivational pep talk to tell yourself during hard times. I know that it’s okay to feel that way and it’s completely normal but I can’t help to feel helpless too. When this happens, I just usually listen to music.
