Every Mary Oliver poem is like “I know exactly what God is. I have no idea what prayer is. Hey look at this leaf I found.”

Don’t let anyone fool you. This is what grad school actually looks like.

I’m annoying as hell but at least I completed most of my to-do list!!! That’s good. I’m glad I did that. I want to stop caring about things that I can’t change and aren’t my business and harm me emotionally. Which pill do I take for that. I want to go back to Oregon and hike. I wanna. Hmmmm. Feel the peace that I use to feel in foggy mountains. Yeah, that’s what I want to feel.

I couldn’t focus at all today blehhhh. I also dropped a class! And did another good thing for my mental health that I’d rather not disclose publicly! However I think both of these semi big moments threw me off completely. Going to read one chapter and try to reset for tomorrow. Not every day is going to be a success in every way. Need to remember that.

Ancient Egyptian Painter's Palette
This painter's palette was carved from a single piece of ivory. Six oval wells contain cakes of pigments including blue, green, brown (?), yellow, red, and black. The oval cartouche at one end encircles the throne name of Amenhotep III, Nebmaatre, and the epithet "beloved of Re."

The Continental Divide at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado is breathtaking. Add to it dozens of majestic elk, and you have an everlasting memory.

people are like “I support sex workers” until they actually have to support sex workers by critiquing their ingrained ideas about sex and work and then they're suddenly like “we need to rescue girls from thinking selling their bodies is okay!1!!”

My brain has been off for the past few weeks and it was great. This morning I saw a friend had posted a really illuminating note on FB, and it inspired me to jump into a book for the first time since the end of last semester. Feels nice. What moves me to be in theory is friendship and dreaming a better world. 💕

Today’s source of serotonin: referring to sex as an “activity” in my paper. I mean it is one. But it just sounds funny categorized under the same grouping as cooking, hiking, playing scrabble... we truly love to see it.
