Soulmates?
In a world where you can see your soulmate’s life while you are asleep, somehow Y/n gets Danny Wagner as her soulmate. Easy for her to scope out, but how the hell was he supposed to find her?
Y/n fell asleep and she got to witness a greta van fleet concert. She got to witness the drum kit from the very point of view of Daniel Wagner. Fans screamed in excitement as the covering dropped and the concert officially began. Y/n thought how amazing it was when she went to the last concert. The music was amazing and so was the feeling of it all. Yet, she left feeling really disappointed.
 She had went with the hope of being able to meet Daniel and have that soulmate magical moment. He would realize it was her and that they were destined to be. But instead he did shots with the people in the front and then went off stage to not be seen again.
How was she supposed to get through to him when there were so many prettier fans?
She was frustrated with having him as a soulmate. He’s a wonderful and talented man, but he was difficult to connect with. Stupid beautiful man.
At the same time she heard him talk about soulmates before and knew that he took them very seriously. He was excited to meet her like she was him. She was desperate to finally see him and him recognize her.
Y/n had one more concert to get through to meet Daniel. She had a few hours before she had to go so she decided to go get coffee. Ordering and grabbing her own coffee went well, but someone bumped into her which caused their drink to spill on her arm. Their very hot drink actually burned her, causing a red mark to appear on her arm.
She wiped off the drink and just ignored the pain of it.
She met up with her best friend who knew about Danny being her soulmate, the only person who knew. Not many people would believe her if she said a rockstar was her soulmate. Many people could claim that. But Y/N was able to show her best friend Ellie by saying that Danny was wearing a certain outfit and the next day he posted it.
Ellie about shit herself when she looked at the post to see that her best friend described that exact outfit to a T.
“You will meet him tonight, I am telling you.” Ellie declared.
“You said that last time man, there's no way I am gonna magically bump into him. He has very defining moments that proves who he is. Me? I just like exist. He isn’t gonna be able to pin point me from any other fan. Its a bunch of bullshit.”
Ellie laughed, “Soulmates are special, he will know you the moment he sees you.”
“Maybe if my boobs were out and he saw the tattoo but besides that..”
“OH my god, that's it! Wear a low cut shirt so that he can see it. I mean surely he would know it from when you look in the mirror or shower.” Ellie said. The thing about the soulmates is that if they look in the mirror the face is blurred. It was an annoying condition but it was meant to make you search for your soulmate more rather than just being able to see.
“What, so boobs out?” Y/n asked.
“Hell yeah, boobs out. And if you don't meet Danny maybe someone will make out with you.” Ellie said, making Y/n snort..
Two hours later and they were in the pit of the venue singing their hearts out. Y/n felt nervous being so close to Danny. She watched him to mundane things when she was asleep like him sorting socks and playing cards with Sam. But on stage he was a fucking rock star and she thought he looked larger than life.
Josh was dancing around singing at the top of his lungs during Light My Love yet all Y/n could think about was how good Danny looked while playing drums. He was so in his own world. During her sleep she witnessed him talking about lucky he was to be living his dream and touring with his brothers.
She glanced down at Jake and then looked back at Danny to see him already looking at her. He offered her a breath taking smile as they finished up the song. She wondered if he saw her tattoo or was just smiling at another fan of his. Light my Love was the last song and she was waiting for a chance to see him. But he didn’t even take shots like he normally does, he booked it off the stage.
Disappointment flooded Y/n, she was never going to get to meet him. She grabbed Ellie ans together they made their way to the cars to leave. Y/n felt doom at the fact that she didn’t get to meet Danny. She felt a bit hopeless.
They found a bar to get a drink at, Ellie going on about how soulmates are meant to meet and how she would meet Danny one way or another. It was encouraging but Y/n didn’t really wanna hear it at the moment, feeling too discouraged.
She wondered if he even noticed her. He was danny Wagner and she was just a girl. Would he be proud of her or like bummed out?
The bar door opened and she lazily peered over to see who came in. Maybe a cute guy did come and she could at least make out with someone since she missed out on meeting her soulmate today. Her eyes widened as she realized who just walked in.
It was Danny and Sam. Her heart beat raced as she saw them look around for a seat. She turned around and put her head down. She was suddenly really nervous. She mumbled about having to go to the bathroom before she got up and walked away.
She almost made it to the bathroom when she sensed someone behind her. She glanced back to see the beautiful man she saw in her dreams. He gave her a breathtaking smile before walking closer to stand right in front of her, almost pushing her into the wall.
“Did you not think I wouldn’t notice you?” He asked, eyes looking all over her face, “You’re eyes are more beautiful than I could have imagined.” He mumbled, not being able to look away.
She blushed, slinking more into the wall, “I didn’t know if you would considering how many people are at your concerts,” she shyly said.
He chuckled, “they’re not my soulmate, they don’t matter as much. I’d know that tattoo anywhere,” he said, eyes trailing down to her chest- making her blush even more. The tattoo was unique. It was a drawing of an eye as a planet but the planet’s ring was completely shaded black. Something that she had drawn in high school and just fell in love with.
“Are you saying you look at my boobs a lot?” She joked, quirking an eyebrow at him.
He laughed, shrugging boyishly, “Let’s just say my eyes wonder from time to time when it comes to you. Not my fault that you’re so stunning.”
“Stop, you’re making me blush like a fool.” She said, shaking her head and looking away in embarrassment. Danny finally noticed her and he was laying the flirting on thick. She didn’t expect him to be so forward.
“Maybe I think you look cute when you blush,” he lowly said, stepping closer so that his chest was against hers. She could feel how warm he was against her own skin and she felt butterflies in her stomach from his close proximity, “I’ve been hoping I’d meet you for years. Hiding from me?” He asked, grabbing her chin in his hand delicately, making her melt.
She shook her head no, “I came to a bunch of concerts” she admitted.
He leaned forward, ghosting his lips over hers, “You are more perfect than I could have hoped, sweetheart.”
His lips slotted against hers, soft lips opening up her mouth. She melted into the kiss as he wrapped his arm around her midsection pulling her close to him as he deepened the kiss. She sighed when he pulled away, disappointed that it was done so quick.
“We have the rest of our lives to kiss, let me buy you a drink.” He said, kissing her forehead and pulling her to the bar.
She thanked her lucky stars that he found her.

Baby sister part 2
Emily and Sam’s house had two extra rooms. One room had two single beds and the other one had a full. It was decided that you would share a room with Dean and Sammy would get his own room. Dean didn’t want you wondering out of his sight. It was the over protectiveness in him.
The bedroom was nice and decorated warmly. The room was a light green color with yellow and green bedding that had flowers all of it. You thought it was cute but Dean mumbled about it being too girly for his own liking. You were unpacking your bags when you could hear Dean and Sam arguing in the room over.
Those two got into it quite a bit and even more so once Sam started drinking demon blood to get stronger. It was a messy situation that should have never happened. A part of you wondered if you should have warned the wolves that Sam had telepathic powers and was wanted dead by most demons and vampires.
Staying with the wolves put them in danger.
You felt very confused about the whole imprinting thing. Sure, Paul was attractive- like really attractive and built like a tan greek god- but being told you are someone’s soulmate is pretty intimidating. He had this connection to you that you didn’t quite understand yet. How were you supposed to act around him? You have not had dating experience because of Dean and now you find your supposed soulmate. Fuck, you had no idea what to do or how to act around him.
You heard a knock at the door and there stood Paul, without a shirt. Honestly it was hard not to stare with his muscular and fit he was. Your eyes trailed his body before looking back to his face, which he was now smirking at the fact that you totally checked him out. His brown eyes gazed around the room before back to you.
He pointed behind him, “Your brothers are in the next room arguing.”
You let out a sigh, “Yeah, they do that. Both of them are strong headed and sometimes this happens. Can you hear what they are going on about?”
“You and me, how you are my imprint. Dean is pissed and Sam is arguing that it can be a good thing. I just want to clarify that you are in the lead here and I am the follower. Whatever you want from this is your choice. Friend, lover, a mix of both. It is up to you.” Paul explained, his voice suddenly serious.
“Thank you, but I guess we just play it by ear. There is a lot going on and love isn’t really the first thing on my mind right now.” You admitted.
Paul came into the room more and sat down on the bed beside you, crossing his strong arms and giving you a look to say to go on, “What’s going on in your crazy hunter world?”
You laughed, brushing a hand across your face, “Well, let’s see. There are demons after us because my brother Sam was chosen by a powerful demon to have super powers. Not only that but the angels are now fighting with us because we sort of caused the end of the world and they want Dean’s body as a vessel for the archangel Michael. Dean went to hell and our angel friend pulled him out but now Dean has trauma that he will not talk about.”
Paul’s mouth was slightly agape in shock from the word vomit of trauma you just threw his way. If you two were bound together he might as well know the danger that your family brings. Having kids with a nice family Christmas was not likely for you or your brothers. Not anytime soon at least.
Paul shook his head and ran his hand through his hair, “That, um.. That’s a lot of baggage your family has. I thought my life was rough because my dad’s an asshole.”
You nodded before sitting on the bed beside him, “My dad was too.”
“How did he die?”
“He traded his life for Dean’s. Which is funny because my dad was the hardest on Dean. My mother died when we were really young and my dad learned it was because of a demon. He entered the monster hunting world and never looked back. He would leave for a week at a time and dean would take care of us. Dean was our saving grace. He probably loves us more than my dad ever did. Dad was just so caught up in getting revenge for mom.” You explained.
“Your dad sounds like he was an absent father a little bit... but who taught you how to fight monsters then? Dean or your dad?”
You smiled, “Dean. My dad never wanted me or sam to know as much as Dean But Dean kind of pulled us into it and then my dad started training us. Paul, I just want you to understand that this will be complicated. If you are in my life that means you are going to be in danger.”
Paul’s serious expression faltered and he began to laugh, giving you a boyish smile and shaking his head, “Y/n, my existence puts you in danger. Vampires are drawn to us because we are their natural enemy. And considering your past that makes me really worried,” A low growl erupted from his throat before he looked you deep in the eyes and took your hand, “I will never let anything hurt you again.”
His hand felt extremely warm against yours, tingles running up and down your arm from the feeling. A blush arose on your cheeks from how dedicated to you he sounded. You had protective brothers but this was different.
“I wont let anything happen to you either.” You whispered, grabbing and interlocking your hands. You were shocked by how bold you were but you were guessing it was the whole imprint reaction.
Paul gave you a breathtaking smile before you heard his name being called downstairs. He let out a sigh and dropped your hand, “ I have patrol but I will be back later to see you.”
“Okay, be safe.” You stood up with him.
He laughed, “Always, sweetheart. You be safe” he said before winking at you and walking down the steps. A small part of you already missed him and wished he would come back.
Dean and Sam weren’t in the room so you decided to head downstairs to get to know Emily. Maybe she knew where the boys went and she seemed nice enough. Plus... she could tell you what Paul is like. You needed more information about the man that is supposed to be your soulmate.
Emily was alone in the kitchen humming and making muffin mix. Her long black and silky hair was tied up as she stirred the mix in the bowl. She turned around to notice you, offering a huge smile, “y/n, hello. I hope you liked the guest room. I gave you the pretty room.”
You smiled back, “Actually my brother Sam took that room and I got bunked with Dean. We trade who shares beds and Dean is paranoid about my safety. I think he thinks Paul is going to kidnap me...”
Emily let out a beautiful laugh as she wiped her hands off with a dish towel, “Yeah, your brothers knew Paul was in the room talking to you. Dean was not happy but Sam told him to leave it alone. They went to town to explore, I told them we could use some girl time.”
“Thanks, that was kind of you.”
Emily smiled again, “Paul is enamored by you, he is over the moon to have found his imprint. You are a lucky woman.”
You blushed again but shrugged, “I think I am going to make his life harder.”
She gasped, “Don’t say that! Paul can handle whatever is thrown his way. He won’t mind your supernatural world as long as you can handle his. I think he was relieved that you weren’t freaked out. You already know the crazy shit the world has to offer and that makes it easier. The other wolves have to explain everything to their imprints and that can be rough.”
You bit your lip for a second in thought, “What is Paul like?”
She grinned again, “He is honestly a good guy. He is a bit of a hot head but I think with you around that will fade away. He is a hard worker who likes to have fun. Him and the boys joke around all of the time. But mostly he is very dedicated to those that he loves. Like i said, you’re a lucky woman.”
You started to panic as a feeling of pain shot through your head. Sometimes your body could tell when supernatural was around. You didn’t have powers like Sam, but it was like a gift that you could sense those different around you. This had a bad feeling.
“Emily, is anyone home?”
“Nope, why?” She seemed so relaxed but was starting to sense your panic, “What’s wrong?”
“Go up to your room. Like now.” You shouted, feeling the panic rising even more. “Now emily.”
“I am not leaving you-”
The door bust open to a yellow eyed demon walking in. Her stature was small but you knew that she could kill you. You had no weapons on you and your brothers were gone. Great, just great.
“Emily, upstairs.” You ordered, standing in front of her.
“Putting her a floor above won’t make her safer. But i don’t care. It’s not this woman that I want dead. Its y/n winchester that is going to die today.” The demon walked forwards as Emily ran out the door. You thanked god that she escaped but knew that this is the moment that you actually die. And not even beside your brothers.
“How did you find us?” You asked, backing up and looking for any sort of a weapon. Panic was beginning to take over now that you were alone. At least Emily was safe. But dying alone didn’t sound great either. There was a knife on the counter that you grabbed, clutching the handle for dear life.
“We have a network. Plus, I have been following you since Oregon. I finally got you alone without your brothers or other supernatural beings. Figured this was my chance to end you, make your brother’s weaker.”
“She’s not alone.”
Behind the demon stood Castiel, who you had never been more happy to see. He put his hand on the demon’s head and killed it within seconds. Your chest filled with relief at knowing that you were safe. Your best friend had just showed up and saved your life.
You crossed the room in two seconds to enter his arms, finally feeling like you could breathe again, “You saved my life.”
“I feel like at this point all I do is save the Winchesters. You would have died if i did not come. I could feel your panic.” He explained, his eyes scanning you to make sure that you were alright. “What are you doing here?”
“We were on a hunt when we saw werewolves. Apparenlty they have a vampire problem that we said we would help out with.”
He quizzical looked at you before he shook his head, “Are you an imprint of a wolf? You smell like one.”
You blushed at how blunt he always was, “yeah, found out today.”
“Interesting. Someone is coming and they think I am the enemy. I need you to stand back in case a fight happens. I don’t need you getting hurt.” Castiel nonchalantly pushed you backwards but you shook your head no as you heard growls getting close to house. Outside the window you could see a silver wolf bolting for the house with a black wolf behind him. You shoved Castiel out of the way before booking it outside the door. You did not want Castiel to hurt Paul or vice versa.
Paul sad red as he ran towards the house. The pack had been on patrol for the vampires when they could hear a woman screaming. Sam knew it was Emily and they ran towards her but could hear her yelling that you were alone at the house and in grave danger. Emily was crying and her panic only made Paul panic more. His heart racing in his chest as he took off towards the house. He needed to get there in time to saved you. He just found you today, he couldn’t lose you.
He saw a man through the door way and that is who he assumed to be the attacker, but within seconds he saw you running out the door and towards him, waving your hands and yelling no. His eyes scanned you and there were no wounds and he did not smell blood. His anxiety was still through the roof with you being that close to a supernatural being. He had to get you away.
“The man inside saved me! He’s a friend!’ you yelled, pointing inside where Castiel was, “Don’t go near him please. He saved me.”
Paul’s wolf stopped right in front of you, nuzzling his face into your neck, breathing in your scent to calm him down. He wad full of rage and fear, but you seemed to be okay. He was confused where this mystery man came from but he was grateful that the man showed up when he did. Paul promised to never leave you alone without a protector again.
Castiel walked outside and awkwardly waved, “This is Castiel. He’s our best friend. He is an angel and he just saved my life. I can explain everything once you are human again.” you said.
Just as you said that the Impala pulled in. The boys got out of the car and ran over making sure that you were alright because the wolves were shifted. They then noticed Cas and ran over to hug him.
“What happened? Why is Cas here?” Sam asked.
“A demon found me when you guys left. Said I was on the list to kill to make you guys weaker. It said it followed us from Oregon.” You explained as Paul growled. Dean wrapped you in for a hug, kissing your head. He smelled comforting and you felt yourself completely calm down now that your big brothers were there with you.
“I am so sorry that we left, Y/n.” Sam said, reaching over to smooth your hair.
“I have to go, but I just wanted to make sure you guys would be back before I went. I have business I need to attend to, but I bring a warning. The demons are after y/n specifically now. You need to train her more than ever.” Cas said, looking directly at you.
“We will.” Both boys said.
Emily came walking through the clearing with the others from earlier in their regular form. You were glad that she was safe, but you had a feeling that she was mad that you sent her away.
“Never send me away like that again, y/n. Us imprints have to stick together,” She scolded.
“I am used to this world, and it ended up being fine.” You argued.
“Because of me.” Cas pointed out. You nodded in agreement, giving him one last hug. Cas then vanished like he always does. You felt a snout touch your hand and you looked to see that it was Paul nuzzling you. You brought up your hand to touch his head. His fur was extremely soft.
“Go change. We are training now.” Dean said, pushing you towards the door. You rolled your eyes but listened, going inside and up the steps. You looked back to see the wolves heading back towards the trees but Paul’s wolf stayed for a minute looking at you before it took off with the black wolf.
You felt bad because you knew he must have been scared shitless at the idea of a demon being around his imprint that he just met. You were just thankful to have so many protectors in your life.

Baby sister
Being the baby sister of Sam and Dean meant that they babied you. Like a lot. They were strict on you going anywhere alone and during hunts they made sure to keep you extra close. When the boys said split up, it never meant you to go off on your own, you always had to be with one of them. It was endearing to a point but also a little annoying. You were a fucking Winchester- you could handle whatever was thrown at you.
They got called on a hunt to Washington State. People were going missing in the woods and the boys felt that something supernatural was happening in that area around Forks. Sam bet that it was vampires but Dean said that vampires were always too messy and that it was most likely demons that were bothering the local folks.
You just didn’t mind what it was as long as you were able to stop it.
Arriving in town the boys were arguing about if Sam was ever going to get over his last girlfriend that died like their mother. Dean said it was time to move on but Sam was still pretty fucked up from that situation as a whole.
“I am just saying, Sammy, it is okay to get some action.” Dean said, taking his eyes off the road and glancing at his brother who was in the passenger seat.
You opened your mouth in shock, “Dean, ew. I do not want to hear this right now- first of all. And secondly, Sam will move on when he feels like it. You can’t help how you feel.”
“Thank you,” Sammy appreciated you defending him.
Dean scoffed, “Y/n, what do you know? You have never dated anyone.”
“You don’t give me a chance to.. you scare the men off and you know it, jerk.” You quipped back.
It was true that Dean was a bit overboard with being protective. Sammy was protective when it came to hunting, but he didn’t care who you dated as long as they treated you right. Dean always thought that no man was ever good enough so it left you without a dating life. He always acted tough and scared them off. But to be fair dating in the hunting world was not easy.
“I am just protecting you, kid.” dean argued
“Literally an adult now, but okay.” You retorted, looking out the window to glance at the beautiful landscape. The impala went down a dirt path that seemed to go on forever until there was a little parking area. You were more than happy to get out and stretch your legs.
“Grab guns. I have a bad feeling in my gut about this place.” Dean said, opening up the trunk and handing out the usual weapons. You gave Sam a smile when he traded guns with you so that you had the one you liked the most.
“Stay close to me-” Sam began but you were quick to cut him off.
“I know the drill.” You politely reminded him, gesturing him to start walking. Dean was the oldest so he often went by himself, leaving you and Sammy to go off together. It gave Dean a peace of mind knowing that you two had each other, and of course he was never too far away from his siblings.
The path had only one way so the three of you ended up together with you in the middle of a protective sandwich.
You could hear branches breaking from some sort of creature being nearby making everyone raise their gun up in the air. Dean motioned for Sam to take the lead with him right behind. You guys crept up a hill to peak over to see what was making the noise.
In the middle of a clearing stood three abnormally big wolves and one man. The man was abnormally tall with tan skin and dark hair. He was talking to the wolves as if they were connected to each other in some way, as if the wolves understood him. The wolves were about the size of large bears, towering over the man. You felt goosebumps arise just looking at the creatures.
Sam turned and gave Dean a worried and confused look, “What the hell are they?”
“Shapeshifters of some sort, but I have never seen the bastards be this big. No doubt that they are what’s killing people. There’s three wolves and three of us. Shoot for the heart and then the head. We deal with the man together.” Dean advised, raising his gun.
Your heart was beating wildly at the sight before you. These wolves were huge and shooting them very well might not even effect them much, let alone end their life. You were about to object but the boys were raising their guns. In a blink of an eye you were in a headlock and shoved to the ground by a strong man.
“Put the guns down or else I will snap her neck.” The man threatened, pushing your shoulder blade down to the ground, making you let out a noise of pain. Dean shot the stranger in the arm, making him lose his grip while Sam charged him, punching him in the face.
You stumbled to your feet and glanced at the man, catching his eyes. The man stopped in is tracks in shock before Sam wiped out his feet and started punching him in the face. Dean helped you up and was making sure you were unharmed.
Four men ran over, grabbing you away from your brother and away from the stranger. You figured this was the moment when you die.
“Don’t touch her,” The stranger growled, stalking towards you to grab you from the new men. His wound looked ugly and you averted your eyes away from it. You figured this dude wanted the special ability to kill you in front of your brothers.
“I will murder you if you touch a hair on her fucking head” Dean threatened. Truth was he was beginning to panic.
The shot man scoffed. “Please. I would never hurt her”
You looked at Sam for help but he was being restrained by two big men that were his own size.
“You had her pinned to the ground a minute ago.” Sam deadpanned. You nodded in agreement.
The men shared looks between themselves before staring directly at you meanwhile the shot man was looking at you like he just saw the sun for the first time. His eyes were a pretty brown and you scolded yourself for even thinking that when he had just hurt you.
“Paul, did you imprint?” The tallest man asked, “is that’s what’s happening here?”
“Yeah” he said sort of in a dreamy daze. You were now really looking towards Dean for help because this was just confusing and awkward now. What the hell does imprinting mean and what did that have to do with you or your brothers?
“Well, looks like this shit show just got worse,” One of the men said, “guess I should tell you my name then. I’m Embry.” The one guy said, extending his hand to you. You looked at him hesitantly before shaking his hand.
“God dammit Embry, you don’t just introduce yourself to the enemy.” Another man said. He was slightly less shorter than the other men around him.
“Well they aren’t really the enemy anymore, are they Jared? Paul here imprinted so this girl is gonna be like family in a month. Plus we are used to mingling with the enemy because Jake had to imprint on a vampire.” Embry retorted back.
“One- didn’t chose that. Two- watch it Embry.” You assumed Jake said.
Embry raised his hands in defeat. “Okay okay, cool it.”
“What the hell is imprinting?” Dean and Sam asked at the same time. Dean elbowed Jake and got away long enough to push you behind him in a protective manor.
Paul growled at his action, “It’s complicated.”
Paul was itching to be closer to you but he didn’t want to freak you out. Not to mention there were two good looking ripped dudes who seemed to have some sort of bond with you. He worried that one of them was your boyfriend because that would just break his fucking heart.
He awaited the day he would imprint and of course it had to be a girl who was about to shoot his pack mates.
“Make it less complicated then. It’s our baby sister you are talking about here so it matters.” Dean yelled out, grabbing your hand for reassurance. Paul seemed to have a more relaxed composure now instead of being so uptight like he was a mere minute before.
“We got off on the wrong foot. Please join us at my house for lunch and we can explain everything. Including why you were about to shoot us and how you knew we existed.” The leader said, “I am Sam and I am the alpha of the pack.”
You snorted, “Another Sam? This isn’t gonna get confusing at all…”
Paul smiled widely at your remark and nodded, “yup.”
“We were shooting you because you’ve been killing people and we are hunters. It’s what we do. You kill innocent people and we kill you. We were raised that way.” Dean explained, glaring at the men around him.
“Like vampires?” Jake asked.
“Yeah. We kill them too. Demons, ghosts all of it. We don’t feel comfortable going anywhere with you. You’re our born enemy.” Sam said.
“Yeah, you say that Sammy but it was you who befriended a demon behind our backs and that led to a catastrophic shit show. Or are you trying to forget that?” You said, looking at how annoyed your brother seemed from your comment.
“Y/n, not now.” Sam snapped, pointing a finger at her, “We have a more pressing issue at hand.”
Dean pulled y/n closer, “Don’t yell at her. You fucked up and you know it.” You enjoyed being closer to Dean. It felt safer. Whatever was happening it was centered around you and that was terrifying. Dean was the caregiver and biggest protector growing up and it still felt that way even though she was twenty now.
“Can we get back to the part where you kill the supernatural? How do humans pull that off?” Jared asked, crossing his arms.
“We know how to fight extremely well and have certain weapons. We know the monster world and how to stop the creatures.” Sam explained, “We heard that people were missing in this area so we were looking for the ones responsible when we found you.”
“So you just shoot us without talking first?” Jake asked, annoyed.
“Yeah.” Dean deadpanned, “It’s how it works.”
“Well, you are mistaken because it isn’t us. We protect this land as a pack. It’s vampires that keep breaking through our border and attacking the humans.” Alpha Sam explained.
“I hate vampires.” You mumbled, pulling down your sleeve. One time a vampire got too close and scratched you leaving you sick as a dog for days. The boys took you to Bobby to get help and somehow he had a remedy.
“I like her so much.” Paul said, “I am lucky.”
“You’re lucky I don’t bust your face in for putting your hands on my baby sister.” Dean said,” I will shoot you to kill next time.”
You grabbed dean’s hand and turned him to you, “We are clearly outnumbered here and they are stronger than us. Play nice for the time being please.” You whispered. He rolled his eyes but nodded.
“I am truly sorry for that, Y/n. Just know I will never hurt you again.” Paul’s voice held such a tone of sincerely that you felt it in your bones. His eyes were boring into yours and you felt a blush rise even though this man just hurt you.
“Just don’t try anything like that again.. and you have to explain what imprinting is and what it has to do with me.” You said, looking to Sam for approval of what you said. He nodded.
An hour later you sat in a quaint little home in the middle of the woods. A woman with a scarred up face greeted you at the door with a warm and welcoming smile. Alpha Sam grabbed her in his arms and kissed her with so much love that you felt embarrassed to be watching. They had you guys sit at the table but the other boys left besides Alpha Sam and Paul.
The others leaving gave you a sense of relief. If something bad were to happen then surely three of you could fight off two werewolves. You hoped, at least.
“The wolves come from a long line of protectors who have kept this tribe safe from vampires and any other supernatural beings. A big part of our lives are imprints. Imprints are basically our soulmates. We know when we meet them because once eye contact is made you can see your whole life with them in your mind. The bond is very strong. Imprints come first and no harm can be done to them, it’s our most absolute law.” Alpha Sam explained.
“Imprints keep us sane. They are what is on our mind most of the time and they are the only ones who can calm us down when we are shifted. If we aren’t around our imprint frequently it makes both the wolf and the imprint sick.” Paul added, glancing at you making you blush.
“And you’re saying Y/n was imprinted on?” Sam asked. You made the mistake of looking over at Dean. His facial expression showed that he was pissed.
“Yes. She’s my imprint.” Paul said, moving his attention towards you. “You were meant to be my other half. I know this seems intense but it doesn’t have to be.”
“She’s your nothing, kid. She isn’t yours to claim. I raised her and suddenly you think she’s staying here with you? Hell no. She has a life with us and damn do we love what we do.” Dean half yelled.
Paul growled, “It isn’t your decision. She’s an adult and not a little kid.”
“She’s our kid and we will do whatever to protect her.” Sammy said, grabbing your hand under the table.
“Can we not fight? I hate fighting and I get it enough with living with my brothers. This is a lot to take in but I guess it’s how my life is being handed to me. Dean, Sam. Why don’t we stay in town for a while and try to help them with their vampire problem.” You suggested.
“No.” Both brothers said in synchronized voices.
“Oh my god. I am fine. I can handle this.” You argued.
“Last time you were around a vampire you almost died. We aren’t risking that again.” Sammy said sympathetically.
“She almost died from a vampire?” Paul seemed very upset by this news.
“Yeah. We were on a hunt and one of them got to her while we were split up. The son of a bitch scratched her and we got there too late. Thankfully our friend Bobby knew just how to help her or else we would have lost her.” Dean was starting to soften up towards the wolves.
“You are more than welcome to stay and help us get rid of vampires. Y/n can stay with a wolf at all times so that you know she is safe.” Alpha Sam said
“Wait a minute. I don’t need babysitting. I fight all kinds of monsters with my brothers and I do just fine. Both Sam and Dean have had their own injuries. Dean literally went to hell.” You ranted, remembering how horrible it was when your brother died. You wanted to protect him if anything.
“We aren’t talking about us right now.” Dean grumbled.
“Maybe we should be. You went to hell??” Paul was stunned.
“Long story. My point is I want to help.” You said, giving Dean your puppy eyes.
“No. You can help by staying here with Sam’s imprint while we figure this stuff out.” Sam declared. You groaned because even Sammy was on Dean’s side.
“Emily, get the guest rooms ready. We have visitors for a while.” Alpha sam said to his fiancé. She smiled kindly at all of us.
“So lovely to have company!”

Wrong Bitch (final part)
Y/n was really nervous. She left her sleeping fiancé to come to talk with scary witches that were apparently sacrificing people. And what does she do? She enters their coven with a half vampire that she does not like very much. This all was crazy and she felt stupid for being in this situation.
Nessie seemed to not be worried at all. Her smile never left her face and her body did not seem tense. She walked in front of Y/n and made sure to stay close to her. Fact was, the half vampire was worried that this secretly was a trap to bring Y/n to the coven. Embry would absolutely murder her and it would cause a fight between Embry and Jake.
“So now that we are in, can you explain this all?” Y/n asked.
“Yes,” Lilith said, “We ares small coven that gets its power from this land. We are not sure how or why, but we do. Lately crazier things than shape shifting humans have been our issue. There are creatures called Litos that are like ghosts that can take human form. They are very dangerous and they have been taking souls of humans in this town. We have been trying to stop them. The issue is that the wolves think that they are humans so they have made us their new enemy. Them stopping us is killing humans and in turn our magic is growing weaker.”
Y/n sat in silence. It all made sense why they didn’t want the war now. They were saving lives just like the wolves did. They should be teaming up on this is anything.
“How does humans dying make your magic lessen?” Nessie asked.
“We are humans too and our duty is to protect those less powerful than us. Our bigger entity can sense when we are failing. Our entity is doubting us as witches. The wolves are going to ruin this coven if they do not back off.” The witch that talked to Y/n said,
“So that’s why you begged me to change their minds.” Y/n mentioned.
“Yes, my name is Emily and I have been the one reaching out. You are the imprint that seemed to be the most independent and your wolf seemed less controlling.”
“Talking to me kind of made him and the whole pack go crazy..”
“We have come to realize that. We did not mean to make your pack fight and we are sorry, but we need the pack’s help or else we will cease to exist.” Lilith said.
“Y/n can talk Embry into about anything, its like kind of funny.” Nessie said. Y/n glared at her to tell her to shut up.
The witches tensed up and began to look around. Lilith ran to the door and looked through it, her body becoming rigid by what she saw, “The wolves are here and they looked pissed. Ladies, prepare yourself.”
“Let us go out there and speak to them.” Nessie said, looking out the window herself.
“We don't want you in harm’s way at all. We saw the one imprint’s injuries. We will not have that on us.” Emily said.
Y/N ignored Emily and ripped the door open, running out. Embry’s gray wolf was running forward at the sight of her. His wolf growled as he saw Emily behind her but his body curled around his imprint. His fur warmed her as his eyes scanned her body for any injuries.
“We came here ourselves to talk. We are safe, Em. I promise. They can explain it all.” She hurriedly said, “Also, before you are mad at me it was Nessie’s idea. She broke into our house to have me go with her.”
“Y/N!” Nessie objected.
“Well, you did.”
Jacob walked up in human form, grabbing Nessie and pulling her behind him. He glared at Emily and Lilith as he grabbed Ness, “Take Y/n and go home before I get any more angry with you. Get y/n there safe and stay with her.” He mumbled.
Ness came over and gently led Y/n away from a very reluctant Embry.
Two hours later Embry came home. Y/n knew he was home because in her stomach she began to feel less nervous. Nessie said her goodbyes and walked out the door. Y/n was nervous for her man to walk into the door because she was about to get the scolding of a life time for going to the coven without even telling him. Not that he would have let her go anyway, but still.
Embry walked in and shut the door behind him, having a neutral look on his face,
“Are you going to murder me?” She asked.
“Its tempting, but no. You actually did a really cool thing by uniting us, even if I was too scared to realize that,” He walked to the living room and sat on the couch beside her, taking her hand in his, “But if you ever leave this house to go do something dangerous without me again I will murder you.”
She laughed but nodded, “I know. I’m really sorry, Nessie just showed up and then one thing led to another. What happened with the witches?”
“Well, we are timing up with them to make sure that their magic isn't gone. We are doing extra patrols and training in order to be safe and save more humans. I am doing this to protect you because I cannot handle if anything happens to you.”
“I love you Embry.”
“I love you too or else I wouldn’t be marrying you dork.”
“I like the witch, Emily, she chose me out of everyone.”
Embry laughed and gave Y/n a little kiss, “You are proud that she chose you to reach out to aren't you?”
Y/n nodded, “I mean yeahhhh...”
The rest of the evening the two just enjoyed being with each other. Y/n was so glad that she was able to stop a conflict between the two groups, even if she had to get along with Nessie for that long.

Wrong Bitch (part three)
“I don't like her.”
Embry’s eyes were on the road driving them to their house. He glanced at her to see that she was intently looking out the window at the fields they passed. He couldn’t see her face that well but he could tell that Y/n rolled her eyes, “You are being childish.”
He chuckled, “Am not.”
Bantering back and forth was like their thing. It felt so natural between them and for once it felt like Embry was a normal man who could just have a normal night with the love of his life.
“Dude, you saying ‘am not’ just proved my entire point.”
Embry smiled and shook his head, “Eh, not really. I just don't like her. Who is she to try to have authority over the pack? Her mother already ruined enough, so Renessme can just butt out.”
Y/N hummed in agreement, “Jake’s the alpha so that makes her think that she has more of a say.”
“Well, she doesn’t. I think Jake is even starting to get annoyed with her, and that's like hard to accomplish when you’re an imprint. Must be one of her many talents.”
It was always shoved down people’s throats about how much of a blessing Renneseme was. She was born from a human and got to be half human half vampire. And she was born into a world where a werewolf would make sure that no harm would come to her. It was almost disgusting how perfect her life was, it made Y/N want to punch the half vampire sometimes- even if it was against her morals.
Bella and Edward just glorified everything she did and the other Cullens were guilty of it too. The whole situation was weird and oddly sort of sad in a way. Nessie would never get to be normal and learn how to deal with conflict on her own because her family was always there with their noble input.
Y/N tried to be civil with Nessie, but it was just so hard when the woman carried around an ego the size of Mexico. She was perfect and always seemed to get what she wanted. It annoyed Y/N, especially at the fact that Nessie would never have to worry about adult problems like money, not when the Cullens were so freaking loaded.
“Do you think a part of Jake resents imprinting on her?” Y/N asked, finally removing her eyes from the window to look at him.
He grimaced a little at her question, “The Jake I knew would probably despise his life right now. When he first phased he didn’t want to be a wolf and he certainly didn't want an imprint. Now look, an alpha and he imprinted on the enemy. Imprints make you happy though, it's the nature of it.”
“Well, I hope you don’t secretly resent imprinting on me, because that would hurt.”
Embry scoffed, “I was chasing after you since I was like thirteen. Trust me, you are the only one I wanted.”
She couldn’t help but blush at his words.
“I love you” She grabbed his hand that had been resting on the dash. His fingers were quick to interlock with hers as he brought them up to his mouth to give her hand a kiss.
“I love you more.”
The next morning was the meeting with Alice Cullen to see what was going on with the witches. Since Embry had an outburst it was decided that all of the imprints would hang out inside the Black residence until the meeting was over. No one wanted anyone to get hurt in the crossfire of negotiation. Y/n sat by Kim as they talked about how Claire was starting to get so big.
She started to feel light headed as they were talking. She blinked a few times and shook her head to try to keep steady. Her eyes began to droop and she felt herself losing control.
Green flashed in her eyes before she could open them again. Instead of being in Billy’s house she was in a field that looked like it was drawn by a person. The textures were so cartoonish and she felt confused by it all. She felt a presence to her left and she whipped around to see the witch from the other day.
Y/N hated to admit how beautiful the woman was, but that was overtaken by the fear and anxiety that she felt.
“What is this?” She demanded.
“This is how we communicate outside of the regular realm. It’s our dream speak where we can speak without being with each other. My ancestors have used this for ages.”
Y/N just stared at the woman as she walked closer. She tensed up as the witch stood right in front of her looking eye to eye, “What do you want with me?”
“You need to stop the meeting that is happening. My girls are starting to get angry and I can only hold them back for so long. We can sense that there is unease and we know that there is a plan being formulated. You are to stop this all if you want peace.”
Y/N scoffed, “You are talking to the wrong person here. I am not in charge and I have no power to stop anything. If you want peace you need to stop contacting me. Like this is not going to go over well.”
“I am not hurting you.” The witch seemed confused.
“Okay, but you have me in this dream land and I bet the other imprints already altered the pack that something weird is happening to me right now. You guys are basically already at war and contacting me again is a mistake.”
The beautiful witch rolled her eyes, “The wolves are so dramatic. We aren’t going to harm any imprints. We just needed you to warn them. Did I harm you the first time?”
Y/n stood quiet as the witch walked away and bent down to pick a piece of grass, “Well, no. But you made a mistake in coming in contact with me.”
“We are all put on this earth for a reason,” The witch grabbed the grass and began to tear off little bits of it as she spoke, “What we do is necessary but it is in ways that you all will not be able to understand. We are peaceful, but we are doing what we must do. Our rituals are sacred- messing with them will cause an out right war. A war I do not think the wolves are ready for. You are a soul of reason, I can feel it. That is why I picked you to warn them. I think you want a war less than we do.”
“War ends with casualties and I don't want the boys to be hurt. Especially not Embry. Can you explain why you do the rituals and maybe the wolves would reason with you?”
The witch sharply shook her head no, “We cannot expose our ritual or else we will no longer be able to do it. Witches code. It’s as sacred as imprints. You just need to trust me.”
Y/n threw her hands up in the air, “Trust you? I don't know you, and what you want me to trust is really sketchy and morally wrong.”
“Y/n you have five days until hell breaks loose unless you put a stop to their plans.”
She went to ask more questions but the dream world dissolved in waves as she was brought back to reality.
Y/n came back to Embry holding her head in his large hands, brown eyes scanning her face in utter worry. She blinked a few times to notice the whole pack was around the pair trying to figure out what just happened. Her heart was beating rapidly and she felt dizzy.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay.” Embry soothed, petting her hair.
“I know what happened, but what did you guys see?” She asked, slowly starting to push away from Embry to collect her thoughts.
Embry made it hard to think clearly when she was that close to him. He was thought consuming and all she could think about was him. It was an effect of the imprinting and she both loved it and hated it. She didn’t miss his small frown and reluctance as she pushed away.
“Your eyes rolled back and there was a sort of purple mist in the whites of your eyes.” Leah said, grabbing her hand softly as to not startle Embry.
Embry have Leah a warning look. He was annoyed. Y/n was his imprint and after all the fuss maybe he wanted her to herself. Leah was always all over Y/n. It was the whole best friend thing but it could get old fast.
“The witch, she like visited me in this dream type world-“ y/n began but Sam pushed through the crowd.
“So the dream world is true.” He mumbled, “tell me more.”
“I couldn’t see much besides the witch. She warned me for the final time that you guys need to stop advancing on them or else it will lead to war. This witch, she’s contacting me because the witches don’t want war.” She explained.
“They certainly are getting a fight now. They need to stop contacting imprints:” Jacob was fuming.
“Imprints?” Paul turned and glared at Jake, “if I’m correct Y/N is the only one they are going after. Yet it’s your imprint that led the clan here. She’s the issue and she’s been the issue. So if you want to end this arrange a meeting with Rennesme.”
Jake began to shake and Y/N had had enough.
“Stop! Look, we need to meet with them and I think I should be there.” She yelled, getting everyone’s attention.
“Absolutely not!” Embry argued.
She turned to him and gave him soft eyes, “They have been contacting me. I’m like their person.”
“I don’t care, you’re not going near them.”
Y/n rolled her eyes and turned to Sam, “Schedule a meeting.”
Embry huffed and before Y/N knew it her feet were in the air and she was being hauled over his shoulders. “Y/n’s not involved in this anymore.”
“I am!”
“Embry put her down.” Jake tried but Embry ignored him and walked straight towards the truck. Y/n smacked his back but obviously the small smack didn’t effect the wolf at all. It annoyed her how strong he was at times.
“We are going home.” Embry said shoving his fiancé into the door and buckling her up.
Later that night Y/n felt like something was wrong. Her stomach was doing flips and unease flowed through her mind. Shit was happening somewhwre but what was going on? And how could she tell? She sighed and looked over to where Embry was sleeping.
His mouth was slightly ajar with soft snores escaping now and then. He was a snorer but damn did he deny it every time. She smiled and moved the hair that had fell on his face away. He looked so at peace lying beside her. She remembered a time when she used to crave for moments like this but now she was living it.
She decided she needed a cold glass of water to calm down. She walked downstairs to grab a glass when she noticed someone standing by the sink in the dark. She gasped and grabbed onto the nearest thing she could find. A pencil.
“Hey, it’s me.”
Nessie.
Y/n breathed out in relief, “What the hell are you doing here being creepy like that?!”
Nessie awkwardly laughed, “Sorry. I just had to come see you. Jake’s asleep and I figured that Embry was too- meaning that this is the only chance that we get to speak without them breathing down our necks telling us what we can and cannot do.”
Y/n raised her eyebrows, “Okay? What do you want to talk about?”
“I think we are the key to stopping all of this. They came here because of me and they reach out to you.”
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking earlier but Embry hauled me away like a child.”
Nessie smiled and then crossed her arms, “I’m not trying to sacrifice either of us, but we need to go without any of them knowing about it. Embry and Jake would never allow this. They would lock us in a tower before we visited the enemy.”
Y/n winced, not liking the idea of going behind Embry’s back and doing something so dangerous. She knew he would flip shit if she went, “So when do we go?”
“Now.”
“What? Like leave right now?”
Nessie nodded.
“What if Embry wakes up?”
“If he was going to wake up he already would have. We have to do this now or else things will not be resolved. You and I are taking this matter into our own hands. We don’t need men telling us what I do.” Nessie ranted.
“This is like a good thing to be worried about though. What if they kill us?”
“You forget that I’m half vampire…” Nessie deadpanned.
“No, I know. But there’s gonna be way more of them and we are probably going to spook them.”
Twenty minutes later the two women stood in front of the witches’ coven. Nessie was able to track them by scent and y/n trusted her judgment. Truthfully these two didn’t really like each other but in this moment they had to trust one another.
The door flew open and about ten witches walked out of the door on high alert. Y/n saw her witch that kept contacting her. They all looked paranoid, eyes scanning the area probably for the wolves to attack.
“We came alone.” Y/n spoke.
All eyes turned to her.
“We don’t want a war to break out between you and the wolves. But apparently we are the only ones who will listen to what you have to say. So we are here and you need to explain.” Nessie said, standing slightly in front of Y/n. Nessie knew Embry would kill her if anything happened to his imprint.
“Your wolves will not leave us be.” Y/n’s witch said, “and we need space to continue our operation.”
“We need more than that.” Y/n demanded, “You contacting me has the pack ready to fight like tomorrow.”
“I’m the leader of this Coven. I’m Lilian and I’ll explain it all if you come inside.”

Wrong bitch (part 2)
Embry walked around the truck and opened the door for Y/N. She hopped out and the group that had been chatty suddenly got silent. Everyone looked at her as if to check that she was completely fine, no scratches on her. As if Embry wouldn’t have told them if she had been hurt in any way.
Together the couple walked towards the group that was now trying to act normal and start talking again. Leah walked around the fire and pulled Y/N into a hug.
“Thank god you’re okay.” She mumbled into Y/N’s hair, “I would’ve murdered that witch.”
Y/N laughed, “Not before Embry. I promise you.”
Leah became attached to Y/N rather quickly and that came as a surprise to everyone in the group. Leah had a hard shell and many people couldn’t get past her defensive protection she kept up. But somehow Y/N slipped through the cracks and became Leah’s best friend.
And Y/N didn’t take this honor lightly. She was proud to be Leah’s best friend.
This came with the consequence of Leah being protective over y/n too. She felt the imprint love that Embry felt and just wanted her safe. So when she found out that her best friend was found by a witch she was crazily worried.
“We shall begin.” Sam declared, giving Leah a pointed look to get off of y/n. Leah rolled her eyes but let go.
Embry led his fiancé over to sit on a log and together they sat down. He wrapped her arm around her and pulled her close for warmth. She leaned into him, glad that she had someone to love her so much.
“Today we learned that the witches are aware of our sacred tradition to imprint. One of the witches caused y/n’s car to come to a halt and had a chat with her. More like a threatening conversation to warn us that they want us off their back.” Sam started.
“Now that they know about imprints, we take this entire situation much more seriously. Our imprints can be in potential danger. We are unsure of how they found this information out, but they did.” Jacob added, crossing his arms and staring worriedly at Nessie who sat between her parents who also looked worried.
“We know that they are here to research the magic of our lands. But their sacrifices is what we cannot allow.” Sam spoke, his authority oozed with each of the words.
“We have to attack soon, or else our imprints can be at stake. And none of us are willing to take that bet.” Jake spoke with growls echoing after. Looking around the fire you could see all of the wolves grab their imprints and hold them somehow closer than they already were before.
“Attacking might make matters worse.” Edward spoke, “we don’t know enough about them to jump into this.”
“We can’t afford to wait much longer.” Jake challenged Edward, as always.
“Jake’s right. I’m not about to wait until Rachel gets hurt. We start planning now.” Paul spoke, crossing his arms as if to say that his words were absolute.
“My family is coming down and are headed this way now. My sister, Alice, had experience with witches that will come in handy for us to use against them.” Edward spoke.
“We don’t have the time.” Jake argued, “And last time I checked; you have no authority here.”
Nessie stood up, anger swallowing her whole, “Jacob. I get that you’re worried- but do not dare to disrespect my father. Aunt Alice is the most useful asset that we have here and you know it. Don’t let your fears get in front of logic.” She snapped as Bella smirked.
Ness was a spitting image of Bella and it made y/n grossed out thinking about how in love Jake used to be in love with her mother first. The whole imprinting situation with Jake was odd.
“She’s right Jake. Alice will be here soon and she will know what to do. Give it time.” Bella spoke up finally.
“Since when do we let the vampires control what we do? We are our own independent packs. We act when we want to act. I worry about Kim’s safety and that’s what matters to me. I don’t care if Alice gets here tomorrow, we need a plan now.” Jared’s eyes were narrowed at Bella.
It was no secret that the wolves didn’t really like Bella. She caused them a lot of trouble and she still was controlling Jacob’s life through Nessie. It was all annoying to them.
“We have more knowledge about other supernatural creatures, it’s merely a smart move to wait for my sister.” Edward argued, “she was taken in by witches for a time. She will know how to protect us.”
“Wasn’t her mate a confederate soldier? I don’t know how much I really trust that.” Leah scoffed, trying to cause more of a fight with Edward.
“Leah.” Y/n scolded, “not now.”
Leah sighed and looked away. Embry stood up to speak and y/n was shocked. Embry usually never was one for the role leader but here he was taking action.
“Look. These witches are dangerous. Like really dangerous. And today they threatened my fiancé and I’m not okay with that. We need a plan, whether that involves Alice or not. But I do know that we need to be together in this plan as a team. That’s how we beat them.” He blushed when everyone nodded in agreement. He quickly sat back down and wrapped himself around y/n.
“Embry is right. We need a plan. When does Alice get here?” Sam asked, looking worriedly at Emily who was already staring at him.
“Tomorrow morning.” Edward replied.
“Great. Until then we won’t run patrol. Wolves, stay with your imprints and make sure that they are okay. We meet up again tomorrow morning and come up with an attack. Imprints, know that we will do everything to keep you safe.” Sam ended the meeting.
“Now do we eat?” Quil asked, reaching around Jared and Kim for the hot dog sticks. Quil was y/n’s favorite and she would easily admit that to anyone who asked.
Y/n smiled lovingly at her friend.
“I vote we eat.” She said, laughing when quil gave her a shit eating grin.
Everyone started to get up and reach around for food and drinks when y/n saw Charlie Swan walk towards her. Charlie was her old neighbor and she was glad that he now knew about everything that was going on.
“Hey kiddo. You doing okay?” He asked, pulling her into a hug.
“Yeah! I’m pretty good considering what’s happening. What’re the odds that I would be the one who gets a little greeting from the witches?” She joked, trying to hide the fact that it bothered her a bit.
“Have you ever thought about shooting a gun?” Charlie asked, “I have plenty that I could lend you for now. I want to make sure you’re safe.”
Y/n’s heart melted, “Charlie, that’s really sweet. I’m okay though. I don’t need a gun. I have two of them already.” She joked, flexing her muscles.
Charlie chuckled pretending to be amazed at her muscles, “Fair enough, kiddo. Let me know if you do need anything at all. We’re like family.”
“I know Charlie. I appreciate it so much. Truly.”
They shared another quick hug before she went to find Embry. He wasn’t near the food nor the drinks. She glanced around to see if he was with Quill and Jacob but he wasn’t there. She was confused, where would he have gone?
She turned around to see that Jake was talking with Bella, but Nessie and Edward wasn’t around them either. Was Embry with them too?
She walked into the house to see Embry, Edward and Nessie in the kitchen. They all turned to look at her. She took in their expressions and noticed that Embry looked pissed off. His eyes were wide and his chest was heaving. Nessie and Edward looked annoyed but were trying to cover it up, even though they were failing.
“Hey. What’s going on in here?”
“They want to use you as fucking bait.” Embry spat, getting up and shoving his chair in, “She isn’t bait, nor will she ever be. Maybe you should be, Nessie, considering your fucking existence caused this all. Leave y/n out of this.”
“That isn’t fair. It’s not my fault I was born.” Nessie argued, “I’m not trying to put her at risk. I’d never want that! I just think they picked her for a reason.”
“I’m going to phase” he spat before running out of the house.
Y/n watched in horror as his wolf form exploded out of him as soon as he got outside of the house. Thank god no one was around him. He tore off into the woods and y/n felt herself shaking from nerves. She’s never seen him lose control like that.
Jacob came running into the house, “What the hell just happened?”
“There was a misunderstanding.” Edward tried.
“Ness wants to use me as bait and Embry freaked out.” Y/n blurted.
Jacob’s eyes narrowed at his imprint, “I love you, but stop. You cannot put other people as bait, especially my best friend’s imprint.”
“Jake-“ she tried to talk but he cut her off.
“No. I’m serious. Stop now. I’m going to go find Embry and apologize. I suggest that you do the same.” Jake fled out of the house and towards the woods to find Embry.
Y/n stood there, starting out the door not knowing really what to do.
“Why would you even ask him that? You know that he would say no.” She finally said.
“He would be more mad if we asked you.” Ness said, “y/n, I promise I’m not trying to put you in danger.”
“Sometimes you need to leave things alone. You may be Jacob’s imprint but that doesn’t make you in charge of anyone. Please, stop.” She said, holding her hand up and walking outside to try to help find Embry.
Outside the rest of the group was really confused as to what was going on. Paul saw the shaky look on y/n’s face and went over to check on her. She explained what happened and it pissed off the rest of the pack.
“I think we should go. We will bring Alice tomorrow. I’m so sorry that Ness and Edward suggested that to Embry. Y/n, I’m sorry.” Bella apologized, escorting her family to their jeep.
“I love Jacob, but I really don’t like that fucking family.” Paul ranted, “How can they just try to throw her as bait like that? Y/n, you’re family and we would never let that happen.”
Y/n nodded, “I know.”
Sam came out of the woods running, “Y/n, we need you to come calm Embry down. He can’t phase back.”
Y/N sighed and moved her body to go towards the woods. Sometimes this happened, Embry couldn’t calm down and they called her to help him shift back to his human body. This time felt slightly different because it was your safety that he was angry about and that was something this man did not fuck with.
She heard growling and followed that sound. Angry. It just sounded so angry and primal. She kept walking and found a couple trees with dents in them and one tree even knocked completely down. To the left of the trees were two wolves. Jacob and Embry.
Jacob was circling Embry and Embry was clawing at the ground while snarling. His ears were pointed and his teeth were on show as Jacob tried to get closer. Embry wanted to fight to release his anger and she knew he would get hurt.
One of them would get hurt. Maybe Embry wanted to hurt Jacob to get back at Nessie, but y/n knew that he would regret hurting his friend out of spite. Nothing good ever came out of spite.
“Boys!” Y/n announced herself.
Suddenly both wolves heads snapped towards her. Jacob quickly moved his body so that it was between Embry and y/n, feeling a need to make sure she was safe. Embry was furious and accidents can happen- Emily knew that from when she got hurt from Sam.
Embry did not like that one bit. He growled loudly and started to advance.
“Don’t get near her” Embry snarled through the pack link, worrying about his imprint’s safety.
“I’m trying to protect her. You’re too angry right now.” Jake tried to reason.
“I would never hurt her.”
“You wouldn’t mean to, I know. But things can happen, look at Emily.”
“Im not Sam. Now let me pass.”
Embry was starting to get twitchy with having Jake around his imprint in wolf form. Jacob is an alpha meaning that he is stronger and faster, which means it’s harder for Embry to beat him. But he swore on his life that if Jacob was a threat, Embry would not hesitate to go for a seriously damaging attack.
“Let him through Jake. Im okay. Sam sent me here to calm him down.” Y/n calmly said while trying to slowly walk over.
Jacob looked hesitant but did move out of the way. Embry felt his heart beat steady a little bit as he saw Y/N standing before him. Just the sight of her made his days better. She was his everything and it made him so upset that Nessie thought that Y/N would ever be used as bait.
Embry’s wolf slowly walked towards her until they were a foot away. His body slumped to the ground, tired from being so rageful.
“Jake, go ahead and go. I got this.”
Jake didn’t leave.
“You heard her, go. Bye Jake. We are fine.” Embry spoke through the link
“Fine. Don’t hurt her.”
Embry rolled his eyes, “Fuck off.”
Jake ran off as Y/N’s fingers found her way into Embry’s fur, feeling how soft it really is.
“So I can’t hear you in this form so I will do all the talking. Reneesme was dumb for suggesting that I be used as bait, like really dumb. As an imprint she should understand how sacred they are. At the same time she comes from the Cullen family, a family that just does what they want without caring how it affects others. She’s stubborn and it’s honestly annoying. But you can’t hate her over me.”
Embry’s eyes narrowed and Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, “Listen, hear me out. You’re my sweet Embry, the one who loves everyone. I don’t want you to resent her over one stupid idea. She genuinely didn’t mean to offend you and she doesn’t want harm done to me. Get her to apologize and then let that be that, okay?”
Embry’s body started to shake until he was in front of her in his naked glory.

Wrong bitch
Fic where Y/N is confronted by a witch in forks area to pass along a warning to the pack but Embry gets over protective about it. (Part 1)
Fires with the pack were always your favorite. Everyone sitting around bullshitting while Billy Black told stories of the wonderful creation of the pack. Imprints sat snugly against their wolves against the large logs that the boys had carried in from the dense woods. Lightning bugs circled the group and little claire, who was now seven years old, looked at them in wonder, trying to catch them when they flew near her.
Life was good. Things were good with the pack and between the Cullens. The Cullens had actually planned on moving away soon and leaving Renessme in La Push with Jacob. She was at an age where she was considered “adult” and it was her choice, much to Edward’s disapproval.
For some reason more and more wolves were shifting still, hence the newest three members sitting around the fire too. Leo, Macie, and Ricky. Macie amazed the pack again with being another female shifter, making Leah feel less alone.
Y/N cuddled into her fiancé Embry as Billy finished the last tale, everyone quiet with wonder and magic filling they minds. Her body was comfortably warm from being held against her lover, feeling content as always when he was near.
“It’s about time to head home, love. You have work in the morning.” Embry softly spoke into her ear, kissing her cheek after his last word. She sleepily nodded in agreement and together they moved as one to stand up and collect their things, mumbling goodbyes before wandering off towards Embry’s truck.
On the way home their hands were connected the whole time. Embry loved Y/N with his entire being and it had been like that his whole life. They grew up neighbors and his whole life was impacted by her very presence. A part of him always knew that she was the girl for him. He loved her and he felt very protective of her ever since he could remember. He wondered if that was a pre imprint feeling or natural that regular boys would feel over a crush. Except Y/N always felt more and mattered more than a normal crush.
He blushed as he remembered the first time she kissed him in eighth grade when he was bummed that Jake got his first kiss before him. Y/N shut him up within seconds by pressing her soft lips against his. From then he knew he was in love with her.
“Do you think that Macie will ever find an imprint? Or do you think the girls are like forever doomed?” Y/N asked, rubbing her thumb across the back of Embry’s hand.
He was sort of stumped by that question, “Uh.. I honestly don’t know. I mean maybe they just haven't found their person yet. They still have time.”
“I can't imagine not knowing you my whole life, Em.” She sleepily said, “You have always been my person. Why do you think I was so quick to kiss you in eighth grade?”
Embry laughed, “that was like the best day of my life.”
“As it should have been.”
They pulled into the driveway and Embry turned off the truck. He felt a soft hand grab his chin, Y/N turning his head towards her. She leaned in and kissed his lips three quick times, “I. Love. You.”
Embry felt so in love that he could melt, every cell in his body felt comfortably warm and he was almost giddy with glee as he glanced at the beautiful woman in front of him. His woman.
“You’re gonna make me cry.” Embry said, pulling her in for a longer kiss.
-----
Waking up the next morning, Y/N felt good. She may or may not have had the best sex of her life the night before and it made her blush thinking about the hickies that covered her chest and thighs. It would put her in a good mood for the rest of the day. Or so she thought.
She was driving down the road when all the sudden her car began to slow down until it came to a halt. Fear wiggled its way into her chest. How the hell did her car do that? She had gas and none of the lights were on the dash. Jake and Embry has just worked on her car and she would feel guilty if they had to fix it yet again. She sighed before getting out her phone to text Embry that he car just literally shit the bed on her.
A knock on the window made her scream. At the other side of the glass stood a tall woman who looked pissed. She motioned for Y/N to roll down the window but Y/N just shook her head no. The woman impatiently signaled for her to roll the window down again.
“I’m good with the window being up!” Y/N yelled.
The woman rolled her eyes, “I need to talk to you.” With those words the window rolled down magically without the car even being on.
Y/N began to panic knowing that this woman just magically caused the window to go down without electricity making it go down. This woman was a magic user and that mean she was most likely bad news. Had she targeted Y/N?
“I have a message I need you to deliver.” The woman said, crossing her arms and leaning forward to be eye level with the poor girl in the car.
“Too bad that I am not a mail man..” Y/N awkwardly said trying to avoid eye contact. She knew that Embry would arrive soon but she just hoped it would be any second now.
“Your humor is not charming to me, wolf girl. Tell the pack to stay out of Forks or else there will be a war. I am nicely warning you, my coven wants to kill first and negotiate second. So pass this message along.”
Y/N squinted her eyes in confusion, “Hold on a second.. you said coven? Like as in Witches?”
“Yes”
Y/N shook her head, “The pack doesn't even know you exist so why start a war?”
The witch glared at her for a moment before laughing, “Your little wolf keeps secrets from you. We have been interacting these past couple months and our patience is wearing thin. They have ruined multiple of our sacrifices this past month and they are putting us in jeopardy. This is why you will pass the message along.”
“Sacrifices? Human sacrifices?”
The witch rolled her eyes, “You wouldn’t understand.”
“What’s there to understand? You’re killing people, of course the pack is going to fight that. They protect the people of their lands.”
Anger was swelling in Y/N for two different reasons. One was that human sacrifices are happening and two is that Embry kept this all from her. Why wouldn’t he tell her that there was another threat that wasn’t vampires? Since when did he dare keep secrets from her like this? She was embarrassed that she was caught so off guard and was put in danger.
“They’re not very good at protecting people if I was able to get alone time with an imprint this easily.” The Witch noted, backing away, “Remember- this is their last warning. And if I were you I’d leave if they don’t feel like listening.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want to hurt innocent people.”
And with that the witch walked off and the car started back on again. Y/N watched in wonder as she watched the beautiful woman walk away with confidence.
Since when were witches real too? Like witches with magic and strong enough power to stop a car going fifty miles per hour.
Y/N texted Embry.
My car started back up. Since when do you keep secrets from me? Just met a witch. Not the best way to start off my morning.
Within seconds her phone was ringing. Embry.
“Come home right now.” His voice was panicked and impatient, “we are having an emergency pack meeting and I need you here safe with me right now.”
He was freaking the fuck out and she could tell. A part of her felt smug that he was freaking out because he deserved it for keeping this secret from her. But she knew better than to test him when he was worried for her danger.
“I have wor-“
“Come home.” His voice was leaving no room for arguing. None at all.
“Okay.”
You noticed three wolves on the way home during the drive. Paul, Jake, and Quil. You knew that Embry immediately send them to your location once he got your text. You made eye contact with Jake and nodded at him showing that you were okay. They were clearly all worried.
Embry was standing on the porch with his arms crossed, muscles looking strong and hot as always. She didn’t want to admit that he was cute, she was slightly annoyed with him.
His long legs carried him to the door and he ripped open the door and had her in his arms within seconds of the car being stopped. His nose tucked into her neck, trying to get her scent to calm himself down. He growled when he smelled the witch.
“You okay?” He pulled away and checked her whole body.
“Yes. She didn’t touch me. Just sent me with a warning-“ Embry growled again, “that you guys need to stay out of their way.”
“She made a big mistake going to you.” Jake said, walking up while slipping his black t-shirt on, “she basically declared war by messing with an imprint. They know our laws, they were just dumb enough to break them.”
“I’m confused here, since when are there witches in Forks?”
“For sixth months now.” Jake replied as if a secret wasn’t kept from her.
Y/N scoffed, “Great. And why wasn’t I told this? I don’t like things being kept from me. I was totally thrown off guard here today.”
She was mad. And slightly hurt. Embry didn’t keep stuff from her. He wasn’t supposed to. Even before the imprint they were best friends and always were truthful with each other. So now why was something so important kept in the dark?
“We didn’t want the imprints to know because the witches are even more dangerous than leeches. They have a wide range of powers and their spells can affect you from a long range. The packs decided to handle this issue quietly,” Embry explained. He brushed the hair out of Y/N’s face, “We never thought they would know about you guys if we kept you safe.”
Y/N sighed. It was difficult to stay angry when his pleading eyes were winning her over like that. Embry pulled her in for another hug trying to keep himself calm.
“I’ll call Sam. He’ll want to know.” Jake reported, pulling out his phone.
Quil ran up, “guys, I just talked to Sam. There’s a pack meeting in an hour at his and Emily’s to discuss this matter. The tribal leaders will be attending too.”
Embry pinched the bridge of his nose as he shook his head, “Why the hell are we the ones who always have to deal with this shit?”
“We were born into it man.” Quil quipped, “don’t really have a choice.”
“I’m gonna run patrol for a while. This all has my blood boiling and I need to calm down. Embry, Quill, if I notice anything I’ll howl.” Jake said, stalking off to the woods.
Jake seemed more pissed off than Embry did suddenly. Which was odd because Embry was feeling over protective. Y/N watched him as he phased into a wolf, clothes shredding and falling slowly to the damp ground.
“Why is Jake peeved?” She asked Embry later as they got ready for the meeting together.
He frowned for a moment as if to think how to begin, “All of this happened because of Nessie. The witches got word that a being like her existed and it made them interested in Forks. Apparently it’s said that magic is strong here… because of us. They want to find out the source of magic and take it for themselves. Legend has it that the first witch of their coven was born here. They’re determined to figure out what made her so powerful.”
Y/N felt overwhelmed by all the sudden information. Witches were real and she knew that, but for Forks to be where this coven’s leader came from seemed like a lot. Obviously this land had beautiful magic deep within it because of the mere existence of the wolves. But for witches to be tied into the land too spoke wonders for how strong the magic here really was.
“So they are doing research basically.” Y/N deadpanned.
Embry was tying his boots when she said this and it made him stop and look at her, “Do you think we started this?”
She shook her head no, “What? No! Of course not, but the way you explained it made them seem like they were doing a bit of self discovery here.”
He rolled his eyes, “If self discovery means sacrifices than sure babe.”
“Em.”
“Look, they’re dangerous Y/N. They have powers that we don’t yet understand. Vampires- we know how they work, what they do and why they do it. These witches are a whole new ball park for us so it’s a bit scary. I was already a little overwhelmed by this and then they target you.”
“She didn’t hurt me. Just stopped my car.” Y/N mumbled.
Embry finished tying his boots and walked over to her, sliding one arm around her waist and one hand cupping her cheek to make her look into his brown eyes, “If anything ever happened to you, it would kill me.”
She sighed, “I know.”
“So I’m gonna freak out over this and be pissed off. I’m allowed to. When it comes to you, shit matters. I will not let them ever get near you again.”
“I’m confused as to why they picked me. If Nessie is what had drawn them in this area, wouldn’t they go after her?”
Embry leaned down and kissed her forehead, “I don’t know the answer to that fully. I’m guessing that they are a little scared of her because she has the wolves and a clan of vampires to protect her.”
“So I’m nothing compared to that, that’s why they targeted me.. a human.”
Embry growled, “They were dumb to do that in the first place.”
“Promise me no more secrets. When I said yes,” she held up her hand with the engagement ring, “it meant that we are a sealed team now. I am your partner and I deserve to know what’s going on in the packs. I’m going to be a wolf wife here.”
Embry grinned, “Wolf wife. I like the sound of that.”
She blushed but pushed him away with her hands even though he pulled her right back in, “I’m serious here. No more secrets about this kind of stuff.”
His brown eyes softened as he leaned down to give her a kiss, “I whole heartedly promise, my love. No more secrets.”
She hummed in content as they hugged and swayed side to side, “We have to leave you know.”
“Let me enjoy this moment with you please.”
Pulling up to the Black’s residence in Embry’s truck, Y/N saw that truly everyone was there. Charlie and Sue, Edward and Bella even. Which was no surprise really considering that Reneesme was involved. She was their miracle baby and anything that involved her involved the whole family.
Y/N didn’t mind the woman, she just thought that she was over protected for her mental age. Bella and Edward babied her and Jake was always breathing down her neck, worried about threats coming her way. Special, special special. They all called her special.
Special enough to have witches swarm the area, Y/N thought as she got a glimpse of the woman through the window. Nessie was talking to her parents with Jacob standing close behind her.
Y/N didn’t know who was worse, Sam with Emily or Jacob with Nessie. All of the wolves were protective of their imprints, but those two were the worst. She figured it was the alpha in them, protecting their beloved Luna or whatever.
Embry had his fair share of protectiveness, but she had never seen him act like he did today about the witch. She understood his worry, but she wasn’t used to him needing to touch her so much. She kind of liked the attention in a selfish and mean kind of way. It made her feel slightly guilty that Embry was so upset about what happened earlier.
“Everyone’s here. Damn.” She mumbled.
“I told you this was serious, baby. This situation is a lot larger than we had realized. Especially since what happened with you today.” Em said, grabbing her hand.
“Is it bad that I’m nervous to be the center of attention right now?” She asked, pointedly looking at him.
“You and Nessie both are. She’s the reason they’re here and you’re the one they came to. It’ll be okay. I’m here with you. Always.” He sweetly said, kissing her hand, “Now let’s get this over with.”

La Push settled into fall season finally and the wind was full blown. Leaves swirled on the moist grass as the powerful gusts ran across the earth, squirrels scampering to trees to find shelter. This was the best time of the year according to you. Cold but not too cold, yet so freaking pretty.
Embry invited you to the lunch picnic with the pack. You were Paul’s little sister and saw him phase accidentally when he didn’t know you were home. From there you got to be in on the little secret and met Embry.
Little did you know that the second he laid eyes on you, his world changed, the imprint love running through all of his veins. Since then the two of you had been close, but he had yet to explain you were his imprint.
He was nervous.
What if you didn’t want him?
What he didn’t know was that you very much wanted him. You often thought about the way his brown eyes glowed when he talked or his little laugh when he thought something was amusing. Embry was taking forever to make a move if he was interested and you got tired of it. Being the young adult you were, you had causal sex with people. Everyone has their needs and you weren’t exempt of that.
“Do you have to go?” The man named Max asked, grinning lazily at you.
“Yes, I seriously have to go. I have plans besides sex you know.” You retorted, throwing your flannel over your t-shirt. The soft fabric still smelled like Embry which made your gut hurt. Sleeping with other people made you feel guilty but you two weren’t even together.
“Cancel them.”
You snorted, “no. Look, I had a good time okay? I’ll give you a call.”
He grinned, “don’t wait too long,” he got up and dressed himself before leading you out the door.
Driving through Forks to La Push was pretty as usual but something was nagging you about sleeping with Max. It wasn’t the first time you’ve had sex with him but this time felt especially wrong. Wrong because it was someone not Embry. A blush came on your cheeks as the thought of that. He was so attractive and had no clue either, so frustrating. You longed to be able to kiss him at least once to be able to experience it, but that seemed out of reach.
Kim‘s car sat at the bottom of your drive way, the green old beat up jeep slightly parked half in the yard half off. You smiled at her shittty park job. It was a charm of hers.
Fuck.
Kim will ask where you had gone. She somehow was really disappointed whenever you slept with Max, scolding that he was a bad person. He wasn’t. He really wasn’t a bad person, just not your type of boyfriend material.
Kim was waiting patiently in her room when you walked in. Slinging your bag on the floor you sheepishly smiled at her, “Hi bestie.”
“Were you at Max’s?” She asked, a deep frown carved on her beautiful face.
You let out a noise of surprise, “What? How did you even jump to that conclusion so fast dude?”
She shook her head and pointed to you, “Y/N, your flannel is on backwards and inside out. Don’t treat me like I’m dumb. Besides, I have you on Life360. I knew you were there already.”
“Fuck,” you took off your flannel and fixed it, “I was at Max’s and it was fucking good sex too- if you must know. Just saying… that man never disappoints.”
Kim scoffed and stood up crossing her arms, “Don’t you feel guilty for doing that to Embry?”
You rolled your eyes, “Kim. My dear Kim. My best friend. We have been over this. He doesn’t see me that way. I’ve tried leaving hints and nothing has come of it. Besides, he hasn’t imprinted yet so why would I bother. The moment he finds that girl I’m nothing compared to her.”
Kim shrugged, “Maybe he would pick you.”
“Fuck off, that’s not even funny. I’m not dumb either. I see how you are with Jared, how my brother is with Rachel. You can’t deny an imprint, Kim.”
Even saying those words hurt. You did want Embry but odds were clearly not in your favor. So sleeping with Max was satisfying and got the sad reality out of your brain for a while.
“We have to get going.”
Kim brushed past you and towards the car. She seemed mad with the way she dismissed the last thing you said. Why did she care who you slept with? It wasn’t her body.
“Kim, I use protection you know. I’m not going to get pregnant if that’s why you are annoyed.”
Kim rolled her eyes, “you’re so oblivious and that’s what makes me annoyed. Come on, Jared said they are already there waiting for us. Embry is waiting for you. Wait till he finds out what you had been doing before this.”
“Kim, seriously back off. Embry won’t know, how would he?”
“He is going to smell another scent all over you.”
The drive was quiet and you were slightly getting pissed off. Kim had no right to make you feel ashamed for having sex as an adult. Your body was your own and you were very much single. She was acting as if you cheated on a husband, this was ridiculous. Besides, since when did she care so much about who you slept with. She didn’t care when you were in high school. If anything she celebrated with you.
Now she was different.
Was Jared making her think that sleeping with anyone who you weren’t dating was wrong? Was the imprint affecting her?
Parking the car, Kim turned to you and slightly smiled, “I’m sorry for earlier. I love you and I just want you to be happy and I truly know Embry is the right choice.”
“Thank you Kim, I appreciate that. But please chill out okay? Embry and I are best friends and we are fine with that.”
You just lied to your best friend right through your teeth.
Tapping on the window scared you, eyes turning to see Jared beaming at Kim as if she was the sun. She giggled and opened the door going right into his arms. You rolled your eyes. Jared realized you were here within seconds. Stupid wolf senses. You got yourself out of the car and saw Embry lazily walking over with a joyful expression.
God he was so cute.
“Hey stranger, long time no see huh.” He teased, shoving his hands in his pockets.
You let out a short laugh, chest feeling full when he reached your side, “Yeah, it’s almost like we got dinner together last night. Tacos, was it?”
Embry playfully rolled his eyes, “alright, alright. I’ll admit that those tacos were good. But, I’m sticking with the fact that Chinese food is better. You can’t change a man’s heart, Y/N.”
“You’ll become a taco lover if you keep hanging out with me. Taco Tuesdays! $3 for 3 tacos? You can’t beat them Em. You just can’t.”
Embry pulled you in for a hug and you felt him tense up.
“Em?”
He pulled away and gave you a fake smile, “What?”
“Oh, uh. Nothing you just seemed to tense up. Do I smell bad?” You joked.
Fuck he for sure smells Max and now you’re gonna get another lecture about being the town whore.
“No, you smell like you.”
“So bad.” Jared jabbed, bringing Kim and him around the jeep to be on the same side.
“Jared.” Embry warned, glaring at him.
“Oh my gosh it’s a joke.” Jared argued, “if Y/N is a big girl enough to sleep around then she can take a joke.”
You were fuming, “Kim! For the love of god, keep your damn mouth shut for once in your life. Stop telling Jared my business.”
Jared’s face went from happy and joking to livid within one second. His muscles rippled as he took a step forward, “What the fuck did you just say to her?”
“Jared, leave it.” Kim begged, grabbing his arm.
“Yeah Jared. Leave it. Now.” Embry warned with a tightness in his voice.
“No. I’m not going to leave it. What did you just say to her? You think you can treat her like that in front of me?” Jared loudly spoke with venom coming out of his mouth.
Truth be told you were scared. You never saw one of the wolves act like this in front of you. You knew the playful and caring side of them. Not anger. Never anger. Emily wasn’t lying when she said wolves are extremely protective of their imprint. You glared at Kim trying to convey how annoyed you were with her.
She gave you a pleading look and tried to calm Jared down but he was too angry.
“Leave her alone. Walk away, Jared.” Embry stepped in front of you once he realized that you were starting to feel uneasy. You felt your heart beat going faster. If these two fought you would not be welcomed back to hangout. Or worse, Paul would find out and kill Jared.
“I know she’s your imprint, but god why are you defending her? She sleeps with the same dude when you’re literally the perfect option for her. I’m sick of her hurting you man. And I’m not gonna let her talk to Kim like that.” Jared yelled.
Before Jared could finish the last syllable on ‘that’ you were hunched over puking. Holy fuck you were Embry’s imprint this whole time and he never told you. He let you sleep with other people this whole fucking time! He clearly failed to mention that you were his soulmate. You were repulsed with yourself and how dumb you were. Guilt ripped every cell of your body and you slowly moved to sit down.
No wonder Kim was such a bitch about Max. You were breaking Embry’s heart.
Embry snarled at Jared as Jared realized he fuck up. He shooed Kim to get back into the vehicle. Embry’s arms were shaking as he tried his hardest not to shift right there and then. “You upset her. Look! She’s literally puking! You think you can just talk shit on my imprint Jared? That just because I’m not dating her means that I love her or care any less? You’re dead wrong, idiot. I love her.”
Within seconds Embry’s wolf was grabbing Jared’s wolf by the neck and tearing at his fur. Looking at the violent scene made you feel even more sick.
Panic flooded in your veins. You had to get away from here. You shakily stood up and started to walk away when you saw the pack run over. Sam shifted into his beautiful alpha wolf before going to stop the violent fight.
Paul’s arms were scooping his baby sister up in a minute, looking worriedly for any harm on you, “Hey, you’re okay. What happened?”
“Why didn’t you tell me Embry imprinted on me?”
“Fuck.” Paul yelled.
That night you heard a knock at your window. You knew it was Embry. Of course he would show up once you were starting to wish he came around to explain. It’s almost like he knew how you were feeling in that moment. You wondered if he did know and if that was a side effect of being an imprint. You had a vague idea of imprinting but so much was to be learned.
You opened the window and let him climb in. His hair was wet from the rain and so were his muscles and abs. Shirtless. Of course. The boys were always shirtless and it made it harder not to stare at him. You grabbed the towel off your floor you used earlier and he dried himself with a thankful smile.
“So, let’s clear the air. I’m sorry for not telling you that you’re my imprint. I thought we could naturally see where things went between us.” He admitted, putting the towel on your desk chair.
You crossed your arms, “You should have told me.”
He sighed, “I know. I was an idiot. I didn’t mean to make Kim and Jared mad at you. It wasn’t fair of them to treat you like that.”
“Well, I wouldn’t have slept with anyone if I knew I was yours. Yet again, you should have told me. I’m so embarrassed that the whole pack probably thinks I’m some whore who is stringing you along.”
“It’s not stringing along when you’re literally the love of my existence, Y/N.” His body gravitated towards yours naturally.
You blushed, being at a loss for words. You often were envious of whoever ended up being Embry Call’s imprint. They would get to be adored by the most thoughtful and handsome man that ever lived. That lucky girl would get to spend her life knowing she was loved by such an amazing human. The thought used to make you want to puke or cry. But it was you the whole time. You were his and he was yours.
His brown eyes were looking expectantly at you for the next move or next part of the conversation.
“Embry.”
“Yes?”
“You pretty much will do anything I ask, right?”
He chuckled, unfolding his arms and nodding, “Always, yeah.”
“Kiss me.”

Rain boots
Edmund Pevensie x reader
Summary: You buy yourself rainboats and Edmund thinks they are adorable
England’s gloomy day would not dampen your cheery spirit. Dreary clouds splattered fat rain drops into the busy streets, hitting the cars below. Citizens shoved their jackets over their heads to avoid getting damp. Brisk air already gave skin goosebumps, let alone if the skin were to be wet.
Edmund grumbled as a particularly large drop smacked his forehand, left over water falling past his eyebrow and down the angle of his nose. He movies his pale freckled hand up to rub it away in an irritated manner.
He was on his way home from the book store and still had a few blocks to go before he would reach the warm apartment he had been renting for the past few months.
His books were sheltered from the weather within the comfort of his jacket. He cursed as he ran up the door and unlocked it with his key. A key that he adored.
Edmund was good at forgetting objects and you didn’t want him to somehow lose the bland looking key. So you painted it for him. It was red and gold; reminded him of the Golden Age of Narnia. He felt a little small grace his lips as he heard you humming from the kitchen.
He slipped off his shoes and made it around the corner. You sat with your back against the cabinet, scrubbing dillegenlty on a pair of boots.
“Rain boots?” Edmund asked, pointing at you.
You sheepishly smiled, picking them up to show off. They were a dark green with bright red mushrooms on them.
“Bought them today because it’s always freaking raining here, which is endearing but my poor feet get wet. You like?”
Edmund had to smile at how cute you were. He chuckled, walking closer to sit across from her. He grabbed the clean boot and inspected the art on it. He felt the rubber against his skin and admired how thick the boots felt.
“Perhaps if my intellectual level rested at five.”
You gasped in mock hurt, swinging the muddy boot at him. Edmund jumped back, quickly moving to avoid mud getting on his sweater.
“Aye, watch it!”
“You watch it, mister. Don’t be dragging on my new purchase unless you want meant with mud.” You raised your hand in a mock fist and shook it with purpose.
He smiled but rolled his eyes, “Fine, m’love. I’m sorry. They are bloody cute. And to be honest the purpose of them is genius on your part. Your feet reek when they’re wet.”
You laughed, “You’re the worst.”
“You’re the love of my life.”
You halted the cleaning, peeking up shyly at his statemenf. Sure you have said I love you but he had never said that you were the love of his life. That was a big deal and your heart was melting in the cozy kitchen.
“You compliment me now when I throw you an insult? You’re so charming, Ed.” She murmured, standing up to throw the dirty rag into the laundry basket.
He shrugged nonchalantly in an Edmund kind of way, “Read a document the other day. Insulting your significant other is a love language. I figure I’d skip the symbolism and confess my undying love instead.”
You leaned against the counter, a pouty frown on your face, “That is the sweetest thing you have ever said to me, hun.”
“I’m fucking romantic.”
You snorted, “In your own way.”

Me & You- part 2
Summary: Harry and Y/N have been dating for a few months when Michael invites them over for a small dinner party.
Tumblr media
Chocolate cake, double decker, vanilla frosting with the words “Let’s be fucking happy” on top sat upon the large marble counter. Old friends leaned around it discussing memories and ideas, laughing often and smiling even more.
Shoes messily scattered Michael’s walk in room where his guests hastily discarded them- caring more about hugs than shoe placement. Coats were thrown over the bench beside the door, the top two close to toppling over on the floor. Michael and Crystal didn’t mind at the hint of a mess. In fact no one even really noticed, besides Y/N.
She bent over at the hip as she grabbed matching pairs of shoes and lined them up together neatly on the soft black rug. She hummed in satisfaction when the last pair was set in place. Her eyes caught sight of the coats and she moved to fix those into place too.
Truth was, she didn’t give a damn about the messiness of Mike’s house. Well she did, but that wasn’t what her issue was. Calum brought Maya to this stupid get together and she didn’t want to be around them just yet.
Over the months Calum and Y/N got back into the groove they experienced most of their lives, but this time without the romantic agony of pinning after the other helplessly at opposite intervals. The pair was good, but Y/N still didn’t really know Maya. Truth was she was too embarrassed after how Maya first saw her talk to Calum. That was the first impression and it was a rotten one.
Maya seemed nice and of course there wasn’t bad blood, but Y/N still felt like an outsider as she moved to organize the coats better. Maya and Calum came to these dinner parties in the months that Y/N was leaning on Harry for support.
The boys still invited Y/N to get together the whole time but she took the time away that she felt she needed to properly move on. And she loved the boys but the time away allowed her to heal and create a wonderful bond with Harry.
“Having fun down there?”
Y/N sheepishly set the coats down and craned her head upwards to look at the person standing above her.
Luke.
Y/N awkwardly laughed, letting go of the coats and letting her hands fall lamely into her lap. She was caught trying to distance herself from the group.
“Y/N, why are you in here organizing our belongings when you could be in the kitchen having wine and a good ole time?” He joked, blue eyes offering true friendship, consideration, and kindness.
Luke was always so freaking kind, just a really good friend all around.
“I don’t fit in anymore.” She mumbled in embarrassment, “I feel like... I don’t know, I was away for so long that I lost my spot.”
Luke sighed as he struggled to navigate his lanky body to sit with his knees up to his chest on the floor across from her. His back rested against the wall comfortably.
“Y/N, you’re our sister: we love you and you’ll always be one of us.. are we doing something particular to make you feel like this?”
Y/N shrugged, playing with the fray string on her favorite black and gray sweater. A sweater that Harry bought her the other day when she said she needed one. She kept slipping money in his wallet for it but he always caught her and demanded she take it back. Truth was, Harry spoiled her rotten.
“Not specifically. It’s not even your fault. I just feel like you guys have a groove now and I’m messing it up. It’s silly.”
“It’s not silly at all.” Luke’s hand grasped onto her knee and gave a comforting squeeze, “I’m glad you came tonight. We’re glad.”
Y/N smiled, nodding her head. “Okay.”
“Let’s go back into the kitchen.” He helped her stand and together they walked back to the kitchen.
Michael was laughing as he leaned over the counter, Crystal was rubbing his back lovingly as she giggled along with him. Calum was sitting on a barstool with Maya leaning against his left side, her arm wrapped around his neck, playing with the little tuffs of hair. Ashton and Kaykay were painting digging around in the fridge. Sierra turned when she heard the pair walk in and a charming smile graced her lips.
“There you are.” Sierra said, announcing the new entry into the kitchen.
Y/N blushed as she crossed her arms and leaned against the wall across from the counter, “I was organizing the shoes...”
Luke laughed, “Yeah she was, and the coats. Little nerd.” He pushed her and she fell into the wall. She smiled slightly as she pushed away his hands.
“We thought maybe Harry finally showed up.” Ashton said, turning from the fridge with a can of Pepsi in his hands. Kaykay grabbed the can from him and opened it, taking a sip and grinning.
“Nope, he should be here soon though. He was working out a song with Sarah.” Y/N explained, shuffling over to stand between Sierra and Crystal.
Crystal patted Y/N back as she walked over. The girls were really kind and understanding through out her trying to get over Calum. They would always invite her to girls nights and would call her regularly to check in and to distract her from the heart break. And they were her biggest supporters when they discovered that Harry and her were an item.
“Sarahs the drummer, right?” Cal asked, looking right into her eyes.
“Yeah, she’s an amazing drummer. And an even cooler person.”
“She seems so. One time I visited for a show and the guards wouldn’t let me backstage and she recognized me. Took me with her. She’s super nice.” Michael recalled the memory.
“Ha, me at your shows. One time the guard called me a groupie and wouldn’t let me in for the first half of your show until the members of Hey Violet realized I was missing. That was some bullshit.. but going back to Sarah, she’s honestly the best.”
“Oi, you can date her then.”
Harry stood in the doorway, two bottles of wine resting comfortable in his hands. His smug grin made him all the more attractive as he gazed into his girlfriends eyes.
Y/N felt the weight of the world fall off her shoulders as she took him in. He was so fucking beautiful. His jeans and gray hoodie looked casual and so domestic. She wanted to curl into him and explain that he made her feel more herself than when she was with anyone.
“Bout time you showed up with that wine.” Crystal said, moving around everyone to grab the two bottles as Mike grabbed the glasses from the top shelf.
Harry walked behind Y/N and slid his arms over her shoulders, pressing a kiss to her forehead and leaning his chin against her head. Her nose took in the natural smell of Harry, closing her eyes momentarily to let it settle the nerves.
“How’d it go at the studio?” She quietly muttered, leaning slightly against his tattooed arms. The very arms that were almost like home.
“Swell. We got most of the music written, I think you’d love the feel of it. Sarah made sure the rhythm was sturdy and it ties it all together.” He explained, nodding a thank you at Crystal as he bent over Y/N to grab her and him a glass of wine.
“That’s great, Har. I wish you’d let me hear it..” Y/N grabbed the glass and took a sip.
Harry snorted, taking a sip as well, “You will. When it’s finished, dork. Already told ya that.”
“Mi mi mi mi mi” she mocked, elbowing him lightly in the ribs, “all I hear when you talk.”
Maya burst into laughter, wine falling down her chin- hand coming up to cup it from falling on the floor. Calum smiled in confusion as she grabbed her a napkin.
“Y/N, you kill me. Your sass is unmatched.” She said, wiping her mess up. Maya smiled towards her and Y/N felt herself shooting one back.
“Yeah, it’s bloody endearing until it’s aimed at you.” Y/N knew Harry was bluffing because he was in love with everything about her. She knew this because he only told her every day.
“Imagine how we feel.” Ash deadpanned.
“You should feel lucky that you got to know me all of these years, and especially since I put up with your boyish bullshit for years while on tour. A moment of peace never existed.”
Ashton blushed, crossing his arms, “Yeah, yeah. Rub it in some more that you took care of us like a mom.”
“I’d say so. You guys would crawl in my bunk when you were home sick.” Y/N said, finishing her wine in one big gulp, “play with my hair, Y/N. Rub my back, Y/N. Talk about home, please, Y/N/N.”
“Wow, thanks for fucking exposing our manly composures in front of our women!” Michael yelled, throwing someone’s IPhone charger at her.
Harry’s reflexes must’ve kicked in because his hand grasped the thick cord before it could come in contact with his lover’s face. She hummed in appreciation, slipping her hand under his sweater and rubbing her thumb over his arm.
“Babe, we are well aware that you guys are softies. She didn’t expose shit. I’m sure she could if you really wanted her to-“
Before Crystal could finish all the boys were quickly shouting out no. Y/N knew the darkest dirtiest, most horridly embarrassing moments of them and they rather not share those right now.
“What’s with the cake?” Harry asked as he set his wine glass down and moved away from Y/N to get a better look at it. He chuckled in amusement as he read the lettering upon the creamy frosting.
“A lot is happening in our lives, and I figured we could just take a night to celebrate our success, happiness, friendship, and creativity. You’re all beautiful and deep souls that I’m glad to have the pleasure of knowing.” Sierra said, wrapping her arms around one of Luke’s.
Sierra’s words were genuine and Y/N felt emotional. She was dumb to think that she wasn’t loved anymore by her friend group. They were good, loyal people that saw her heart and adored her as she was. Awkward tension between her and Cal for a few months wouldn’t ruin the unconditional bond. She felt guilty for pushing herself back in the first place. It wasn’t fair to the group and especially not Calum and Maya.
Y/N should’ve been honest about her feelings. Calum deserved to have known and instead it blew up in her face. She was attempting to shelter herself but her lack of actions was really what wounded her.
Shit worked in crazy way. First heartbreak and then a euphoric relationship with Harry motherfucking Styles? Y/N knew things worked out in the way it was meant to. And she felt bad that so much time was wasted when she could’ve gotten to still see Calum and created a friendship with Maya.
Y/N’s eyes wandered to Calum’s as cheering of concurrent glee filled the kitchen. His brown eyes held the upmost love as his lips quirked into a small smile. He made a kissy face and she let out a content sigh.
Kissy face was their signal of saying “I love you, you’re my best friend.”
It was created when they first started touring and they were embarrassed to say it in front of the boys. The action was used at the most important times when sometimes the words wouldn’t mean as much as the mere gesture.
Y/N made a kissy face back, feeling her lips tremble a bit from trying not to cry from the emotions of relief and joy flood through her veins.
“Cut this bitch up! I wanna slice. The one on that corner? Fuck yeah. Dibs.” Ash said, poking his finger in it to seal the spoken claim.
Calum laughed, dropping his head into his hand. Y/N playfully rolled her eyes at the duo. Ashton could blink and Calum would find it hilarious. The two men shared a beautiful companionship. Y/N knew that she was calums best friend, but after her was Ashton followed closely by Roy, Luke, and Mike tied.
“Nasty.” Harry teased, “you gonna have some?” He asked the woman trapped again in his loving embrace.
“Yep, are you?”
Harry snorted, “My love, you underestimate me. Fuck, it looks so good, but not as good as you do all the time.”
He grinned when she rolled her eyes, “Shut the fuck up and get your cake.”
A few hours later and the group switched to hangout in the living room. Board games were brought out along with wii games. Harry, Crystal, Luke and Sierra played Mario cart while Maya, Michael, Ash and Kay Kay played Sorry. Y/N and Calum watched in amusement.
Harry cursed at Luke as he got hit with a banana peel, “Fucking hell, Hemings.”
Calum shifted so that he could pull the cigarette pack from his pocket along with his beloved blue lighter. His eyes glanced to the balcony before he nudged the woman beside him.
“Y/N, wanna join me for a smoke?”
She knew what he meant. Not for her to actually smoke, but to talk alone for a few minutes while everyone was busy.
She nodded.
Y/N figured it would be chilly so she grabbed her jacket- well it was Harry’s that she loved to wear. Together they made their way onto the balcony of Michael’s house. She wrapped the material of her boyfriends coat close to her, slipping her hands into the pockets.
“Glad you came?” Cal asked, flicking his lighter three times before the flame stayed. The cigarette caught the light and he brought it to his plump lips.
“Yeah. Feels right to be back with you all... I’m so sorry that I hid from you guys. So fucking childish of me.”
Calum shook his head, “No, no don’t even apologize, bub. None of us blame you. And to be honest it’s partly my fault.”
Y/N scoffed, hands gripping the railing to ground herself, “It’s not.”
They sat in silence, not wanting to upset each other and start a fight that was pointless. Calum flicked ashes over the railing, his other hand not holding his cig was running through his hair.
Y/N crossed her arms, pulling the hood up over her head to cover her ears. Soft material swallowed her whole, providing a safety blanket.
“You and Harry- you just fit. I’ve never seen you act like that anyone. It was obvious that you felt sorta awkward but the second he walked in, you were back to being our Y/N.” Cal spoke, taking a hit.
Y/N shrugged, “I dunno; he’s like my comfort person now. Probably because it was just the two of us for so long. But I’m content with him.” Her eyes drifted to gaze in at the window. His brown curls could slightly be seen from the bulk of the couch.
“You love him?”
Y/N blinked in surprise, “I do love him. He’s...”
Calum chuckled at her lack of words, “Difficult to describe the intense feeling into lousy English words, huh?”
She blushed but meekly nodded, “Something like that. I imagine you know the feeling?”
Calum put out his cigarette and pulled his jacket closer to him, “Yeah. I’m not talking about Maya here though. Well, not yet. Im falling in love with her, but Y/N you’re my absolute favorite person in the world. You’re my family in ever sense of the meaning. Words can’t explain how sorry I am that I didn’t realize how you felt and that I hurt you.”
She stood up and pulled her best friend into a hug. His arms dangled around her torso as she shoved her head into his chest, taking in the familiar smoke smell.
“Maya seems super authentic Cal, and she’s like.. hot.” Y/N paused when she felt his body shake against hers from laughing, “I should’ve talked to you about it instead of getting angry. You deserve to be happy.”
“Promise I’ll be the maid of honor at your wedding?”
Y/N giggled, swaying them side to side as her cold hands went under the shirt of his back to warm them up. He jumped at the touch. She grinned at his reaction because she’s done it to him since they were little kids.
“Only if I’m your best man?”
Cal hummed, “Hell yeah, wouldn’t want anyone else.”
She nodded while elbowing him gently in the side, “good. It’s settled then.”
Y/N heard yelling inside and the two turned to see that Harry was dancing around Michael’s living room. His arms flared around in the air as he moved his body side to side. She knew that dance. It was a victory dance. The same one he would do when she agreed to wake up with him to watch the sunrise or when he would get all of pieces in home while playing sorry before her.
Harry turned around and cheekily smiled at her as he pointed at the tv and then himself and gave a joyful fist pump. She gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up in response.
“We better head back in.” She said, grabbing Calum’s arm and leading him inside.
“Love, I just kicked their asses!” Harry yelled, hitting Michael with a pillow. Harry cackled when Michael quickly plucked the pillow from him and threw it back with more force.
“You’re a goofball.” She said, crossing her arms.
Couple hours later everyone warmly hugged their goodbyes, slipped on coats and hats, and they walked out of Michael Cliffords house towards their own. Harry and Y/N were the last ones due to her being adamant on helping Crystal clean up. Harry and Michael had talked about FIFA as they attempted to help too but were more so in the way. The girls appreciated the gesture though.
Harry kissed Y/N a couple times instead of letting her get in her own car. Her muffled words kept getting shut off by his lips meeting hers.
“It’s almost like we have a house that we could make out in instead of my friend’s driveway, Har.” She said, pushing his face away with her hand like she did the first time he kissed her outside the poetry shop.
“Have to drive there first, hun. Takes too long.” He whined, his hands pulling her closer to his chest as his lips dragged across her neck, “What did Cal have to say on the balcony?”
She snorted as he nosed along her jawline, peppering kisses and moving his leg to rest in between hers. She ran her fingers along his arm until she intertwined her fingers with his.
He was jealous.
Harry would always ask her how it went when she met up with Calum. Y/N wasn’t dumb, Harry was scared that her feelings for her old best friend would randomly punch her in the face. Harry was hurt before and she understood that he was just scared of getting hurt again.
Especially since he has been in love with her since he was freshly eighteen years old.
“Just that he was glad that I came. Heart to heart about being best friends. I promised him he could be in our wedding if I was in his.” She said, halting Harry’s kissed against her skin.
His head snapped up so that his green eyes looked into her, “Our wedding?”
She nodded, grinning from ear to ear.
“If we’re in this for life, I’d figure it would happen sooner or later. I don’t know if I wanna wear a traditional white dress with you in a boring tux. I think our style is too spectacular for that normal shit. You look so good in vibrant colors, Har.” She whispered, squeezing his hand.
He seemed in a daze as he listened, nodding frequently in agreement, “You’d look amazing in anything as long as you’re walking towards me to meet me at the altar.”
“Yeah, you think?”
Harry laughed, “Yeah, I do.”
“I’ll marry you as soon as you show me that damn song. It’s driving me crazy, dude.” She said, pushing him away when he went in for another kiss that would turn into ten.
Harry was a lovey, touchy feely man, but she loved it. She loved him.
“You ruined one of the best moments of my life by calling me dude. Seriously, you’re killing me here. Cruel woman, you are.”
She shrugged, “I have my ways.”
“Go home!” Michael yelled out the window, making them separate quickly. Harry flipped him off before opening Y/N’s door and helping her in.
“I’ll see you at home, wife.”
Y/N cackled when Harry gently shut her door and saw him hurriedly got into his. She knew that tonight would be spent in each other’s arms with how absolutely thrilled he was to hear that she thought about their wedding.
She turned her car on and thanked Mother Nature for working her mysterious ways to make her life fit into place so perfectly.

I would 💯 percent be down for a part 2 of you and me. I love a soft!boi harry styles. It was so sweet and i loved your writing 🥰 💕 ❤️. Also i could just imagine the paparazzi taking advantage of a sweet moment like that to my man and plastering that shit all over the internet. I could only imagine the dailymail snapchat story if this actually happened 😂
Thank you so much 🥺🥺 I for sure want to do a part two :) but omg yes the paparazzi like to get whatever they can so I can one hundred percent imagine them capturing the moment outside the poetry cafe and blasting it everywhere. I honestly might use that for the next part. We shall see. But I’m honored that you liked it!!

Me & You
Summary: Calum’s best friend internally pinned after him for years. At a party she finds out that Calum is seeing someone and her heart breaks. Except Harry Styles is there to make her feel better.
Tumblr media
Calum and Y/N. A phrase heard so much to the people that knew them. Growing up as neighbors, they were the definition of a team. Y/N was the one who taught Calum how to whistle, he taught her how to ride a bike. Childhood memories engraved in their minds bonded the two together like magnets.
Calum took Y/N with them when they left as a band. She had a rough life at home and he wanted her out of there. Since then the Hood’s and the band became her family.
“Y/N, what are you doing? That is not how to hang up a balloon.” Calum laughed out, pointing to the balloon that was only half taped on.
She blew hair out of her face, her hands falling to rest on her waist. She gave him an exasperated look, “How else do you suppose to do it, Hood? You can’t put a tack in it, it’ll pop!”
Calum playfully pushed her out of the way and tacked the part that was tied off to keep the air from zooming out. He successfully completed the task and gave her a smug grin.
“It’s almost like it worked...”
She shoved his shoulder as she walked past him to stir the Buffalo dip in the crock pot, “Fuck off mate, I really tried my best.”
Calum paused at her words. He knew she was joking and her tone matched, but he did feel sort of bad. When he called her to ask about throwing a surprise party for Ashton’s birthday, she immediately was on board. She bought decorations, the cake, and helped him invite everyone. She really was trying her best.
“You are the most wonderful friend I’ll ever have.” He softly said, turning her to bop her nose before giving her a hug.
Her insides fluttered at the way his voice sounded so honest. She already loved him with all of heart and him saying shit like that didn’t help it. Because she over thought things- well everything. Especially when it came to them and their friendship.
All the other boys in the band had serious girlfriends that they were building their life with. Sure, Cal had girlfriends along the way- much to her dismay, but he wasn’t seeing anyone and hadn’t in about two years or so. Maybe he was holding out for her? She knew it was a outlandish idea but was it really? They grew up together, did everything together, and she developed feelings so was it too wild if he did too?
She relished the feeling of his arms wrapped around her. He smelled so nice all of the time and the scent was uniquely just him. Her trust in people was hesitant due to her parents but Calum was the one true person who she was completely vulnerable to. The boys were close but not to the level of trust she gave to the man in front of her.
He pulled away when he heard the bell ring, “People are arriving, my lovely Y/N. Shall we go greet them?” Calum mocked in a posh accent.
An hour later everyone was finally at the party, well besides Ashton. Y/N saw that Harry Styles was there and she offered him a smile as he walked up next to her. He gave her a warm hug, his hands resting comfortably against her back. His warm skin burned through her shirt and she mentally sighed when he pulled away.
“It’s been a while since we’ve seen eachotha love.” He said, offering his boyish grin that killed his fans.
Her and Harry hung out during the tour when 5sos joined them. While the boys were playing on stage, he would stand and watch with her. During that tour they became pretty good friends, and he did his best to keep up with her. Only a few noticed, but Harry always kept his eye out for her, but it was hard to get her without Calum.
“Last I saw you, you were just about to release Fine Line.” She spoke.
“I remember, ran into you while walking home. Have you listened to any of it?” He asked almost sheepishly, shoving his hands into his pockets.
Y/N now just noticed how nicely dressed he was. His black flowy pants went well his nice long sleeve butto up baby blue shirt. The first couple buttons were undone to reveal his beautiful chest. She felt her eyes drift, but quickly looked up at his green eyes.
She wasn’t stupid, Harry was absolutely beautiful. His beauty radiated and his personality amplified that by one thousand. He was mature, deep, and kind but also had a playful boyish side. And sass, lots of sass added to it. He made sure to check up on her weekly and she knew that he would help her with anything she asked.
She’d fall for him if it wasn’t for Calum.
“Harry, who hasn’t heard that whole album in it’s entirety? It’s amazing, man! Cherry melted me in the best way. Putting Camille’s voice in it? Genius. You put your heart into your music and it really shows...” you blushed slightly as you realized that you just gushed over him.
He shrugged his shoulders at your praise in the humble way that only Harry Styles could. His green eyes twinkled in the light at the idea of Y/N adoring his album. Songs that were a part of him.
He wanted to admit that Sunflower, Vol 6. and Golden were about her. That she inspired him to form lyrics that made people feel the same love he felt. She was his muse and she didn’t even know it. Harry wanted to tell her, but he wasn’t blind. Something was between her and Calum.
He respected Calum and didn’t want to interfere, but it was hard when his feelings never went away. And not there she stood so pretty in front of him, telling her that she listened to his music. That she loved Cherry. It was ironic that she mentioned the one about his ex but not the the two written solely about his thoughts surrounding her.
“Means so much to me that you enjoy it. I was actually wondering if you wanted to co-write a song with me for my next album?” He said, his left hand playing with the rings on his right.
Her lips quirked into a pure smile, “Me? Harry..”
“Don’t be bashful, I know you help write with the boys, even if you don’t let the public know.. Ash told me about it when we got drunk a year ago.” He admitted.
She scoffed, “I’m gonna hurt him....”
“So, what do you say? It can literally be about anything. It’ll be perfect. I’ll even buy you dinner over it.”
She paused before replying. Helping Harry with a song sounded fun and like a good opportunity to actually work with other artists, but it was a vulnerable thing. Sure, the two have had deep talks while high or drunk, but this would be a whole different thing. The last song she had worked on was Best Years and she thought of Calum the whole time writing it. That’s why it was so easily to spill out because he was across from her the whole time.
“If I write a song with you, do you promise to make sure I don’t get too drunk tonight? Because I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow and doing that hungover would just suck...” she said, making Harry clap in excitement.
“We have a deal, love.”
He extended his hand and they shook on it.
Y/N glanced over to where Calum was when she saw an unfamiliar woman standing beside him. She didn’t recognize her and honestly she was confused. Calum always told her when he met someone and he never told Y/N about her.
Harry followed her gaze and noticed the woman too, “Who’s that?”
Y/N crossed her arms, “No freaking clue...”
Calum caught their eyes and waved before grabbing her hand and brining her to them. Y/N’s eyes widened at their intertwined fingers, emotional pain twisting around her guts.
“Hey guys, this is my girlfriend, Maya.”He said, raising their joint hands as they both smiled from ear to ear. Y/N wanted to puke.
Maya was wicked beautiful. Her short baby blue hair matched Harry’s button up shirt. The color suddenly seemed unappealing to Y/N. Not only was Maya’s hair cool, but she had a dope septum piercing and had piercings and tattoos. Her beautiful hazel eyes smiled with genuine kindness and Y/N wanted to run away.
Calum was dating someone, but it wasn’t her. Y/N scolded herself for not preparing herself for this exact situation. Calum Hood was a beautiful man with a beautiful heart and wicked talent, of course he would find someone. She had just been dumb enough believe it would’ve been her.
Calum sensed Y/N’s unease and he suddenly felt bad for not giving her a heads up. He started seeing Maya two months ago and wanted to make sure it was solid before he had her meet the people so dear to him. He realized that was a mistake.
“I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.” Harry stated what Y/N wanted to but couldn’t.
Calum sheepishly shrugged as he looked at the hurt on his best friend’s face, “Sometimes things are better kept a secret.”
Anger swirled around Y/N like quicksand encapsulating her entire body. She wanted to punch him. Couldn’t he see the pain in her eyes and he had to joke about it and say something stupid like that? How could he be so daft about how she felt for him? He was her world.
She loved him with all of her being; however, at this moment she wanted to never see him again. She wasn’t the best at handling her emotions, so this pain transferred to anger.
Y/N rolled her eyes, “Sometimes friendships aren’t what you think they are. It was nice meeting you, Maya. Come on, Harry.”
She grabbed Harry’s hand and stalked off to the balcony of the house. The British lad followed silently behind her, willing to do anything she needed. As selfish as it was, he was glad to be the one she seemed comfort from.
Crocodile tears slipped out of her eyes as she wiped at them in an embarrassed and frustrated manor. She looked out at the hills of California and grumbled under her breath about love being dumb. Harry quietly shut the sliding glass door and walked over to lean on the railing beside her.
“You’re in love with him.” He softly stated.
She let out a pitiful laugh, “That obvious?”
He didn’t reply for a moment. Instead he took the time to observe her, and his heart stung at the sight in front of him. Her eyes were no longer the vast universe before him that made him believe that life was eternal, instead they were a sunken wasteland filled with sorrow.
Her knuckles were white from how hard she was making fists and her leg was bouncing up and down with anxiety. Harry recalled the one other time he saw her like this. It was when they got a late dinner together and her mom somehow called her.
He hated seeing her upset then and he hates it even more now.
“If you don’t show that you care about someone, you’re not human. Calum is your best friend that has been by your side, it’s natural to catch feelings. And you shouldn’t feel ashamed about it either, hun. Your feelings are valid, it’s understandable to be crushed right now.” His hands gently took hers and flattened them out so that hers would no longer be in fists.
“I’m in love with him.” She choked out, turning to maneuver herself into his embrace. His strong arms wrapped around her back and she clutched tightly to his shirt. She felt the skin of his chest against her cheek as she nuzzled into him.
Sobs shook her body as his left hand rose to lovingly play with her hair. Y/N was glad that Harry was there for her in this time. She knew she couldn’t go to one of the boys because it wasn’t fair to put them in the middle of this.
“I know, I know.” He muttered, glancing inside the house to see that Calum was standing with Luke and Michael. The three boys were starting back at him, all of their faces held regret.
“I-I thought that maybe he loved me too. Every song we wrote, I thought of him. His little gifts and sudden spurs of adventure he whisked me away on, I thought that it was special between us..”
Harry’s heart felt like it got punched. The girl he was head over heels was currently heart broken over his friend. He wanted to tell Calum off for missing out on what he absolutely wished he could have. Calum had his dream girl wrapped around his finger and the dude didn’t even know it.
Harry himself was surprised that Calum wasn’t in love with her too. She was just.. the best. She was adaptive to their life style, good with the fame aspect of their life, she was nerdy in the best ways, so humble and grateful that it was intoxicating to be around her, and she was so genuine. Calum was a fool to not see what was right in front of him. Blind not to see that such a wonderful human being loved him with every fucking inch of her soul.
He saw Calum move towards the door and Harry felt an instinct to get Y/N the hell away from him. He didn’t want her to have to see him and he knew that he couldn’t even look Calum in the eyes without feeling anger even if it wasn’t exactly fair.
Calum hesitated when he saw the death glare that Harry was unknowingly giving him.
Calum knew that Harry was smitten with his best friend. It was apparent that Harry always went out of his way to call her or get drinks when he was home. Hell, Harry had sent her a gift when he went to Japan because he knew it was her favorite place when she went with the band. It was zero surprise that he would feel protective over a crying Y/N.
Calum just wanted to talk to her.
Luke and Michael walked over with somber eyes as they noticed that this situation would not be dealt with tonight.
“Calum, don’t go out there. She’s hurt, man. Give her some time.” Luke gently warned, grabbing his arm.
“I feel so bad. I know she’s hurt but I didn’t think she would be this hurt from me not telling her that I met Maya. I thought maybe she would be a bit happy for me..” he trailed off at Luke’s facial expression.
“She’s fucking in love with you, mate. Why are you the only one who doesn’t see that?” Luke raised his hands in an exasperated manner.
“What?! No? Y/N? She’s not in love with me. It’s not like that.” Calum defended, glancing over at his best friend in the world sobbing in Harry’s arms.
“Seriously Cal?” Michael deadpanned, “You can’t be that stupid.”
Calum rolled his eyes, “Wouldn’t I fucking know if my best friend was in love with me?”
Michael laughed sarcastically as Luke awkwardly shoved his hands in his pockets. Calum sighed at their behavior.
“Apparently not mate. You know how it’s obvious to us that Harry fancies Y/N? Well we could tell when it came to her with you.” Michael explained.
“Why didn’t you say anything? Why couldn’t I tell?” Calum asked.
Luke blew air out of his mouth as he tried to think of how to explain it, “Cal, it wasn’t for us to say. God, you and Y/N pick the worst times to be in love with each other.”
Calum’s tongue poked out to wet his lips. He was annoyed that Luke even brought that up. Growing up Calum was enamored by his beautiful Y/N and he knew that he was in love with her when he was about sixteen years old. She was so supportive and always there, and she made the rough times optimistic and fun.
Unluckily for him, at the time he realized they were on tour with one direction and she went off with Harry a lot. Calum felt like he couldn’t compete so he didn’t say anything. Plus he felt sick at the idea of scaring her off. Over time he got over it and moved on because he was sure she didn’t feel the same way.
Now years later she falls in love with him?
“Things would’ve been easier if I would’ve went for it as a teenager... huh?” Cal asked, dumbfounded.
“Probably. Do you... do you still feel the same way? Because you got Y/N out there crying and Maya over there trying to talk to people she doesn’t know.” Luke pointed over to Maya.
Calum couldn’t help but smile over at his girlfriend. He felt so warm and fuzzy around her. She was so fucking cool, and he was proud that she was here with him. But that feeling was dulled down when he looked out on the balcony. Seeing Y/N cry could ruin his happiness at any time.
But it wasn’t because he was in love with her. He used to be, but now he fiercely loved her in a family kind of way. He forced himself to move on from her and the damage was already done. He desperately wished that she would’ve felt the same back in the day because maybe things would’ve worked out. But now he has a girlfriend and she’s out on his balcony crying.
“I’m not in love with her, but I care about her more than probably anyone else.” Calum admitted, “It fucking hurts to see her so upset.”
The door opened up and Ashton walked in, his hand came up to his chest from being startled at how many people were in the apartment. He grinned as Calum walked over and gave him a hug.
“Happy birthday, mate.” He said.
Ashton giggled, “You fucker!” He pulled Calum into a tight hug of appreciation.
Y/N stopped crying when she saw Ashton walk inside. Ashton deserved this party and she wasn’t about to ruin it. He was the type of friend that would do anything for anyone. He was the sun coordinating the planets, making them more efficiently. At the same time he was the moon, luring over loved ones in dark times to offer any sort of help; emotional or physical.
Ashton deserved all the good in this world and she wasn’t about to fuck it up over crying over a man. She thought about all the tik toks joking about gagging after crying over men, and that made her feel a bit better.
Y/N would suck it up for now and go give Ashton a hug because he was worth it.
Harry pulled away slightly when he saw that Ashton arrived too. He glanced down at Y/N and she gave him a small nod and a smile.
Harry once read that your body naturally rejects a potential mate that isn’t a match. Effects are; nervousness, unease, and weariness. Apparently the theory goes that if someone is right for you, being around them gives off a sense of contentment and peace. You don’t have to get overly excited around them to the point that you feel sick. Rather you sense of feeling at home with them.
That’s how Harry felt with Y/N. His past girlfriends he loved-sure. He was heartbroken when things ended with Camille, but he didn’t have that sense of calmness with her. Not like he had around Y/N.
He was utterly fucking stuck on her. She was the one.
He managed to feel this way for years without it ever going away. That had to mean something. His mom once told him that shit happens for a reason. Calum not loving her back like that could shift her to Harry. And as fucked up as that idea was, and how down right cruel it was, he hoped it was true.
“I need to go see Ash..” she paused, glancing up into his green eyes. Right then Harry knew that she was about to ask him to go along with her.
“Let’s go, c’mon love. I’m right here with ya.” He soothingly assured, grabbing her hand.
Together the pair made their way inside to where the party was happening. Y/N noticed that Maya was standing beside Calum, his arm wrapped around her waist. She clutched tightly onto Harry’s hand as a sharp pain zapped her in the chest. His thumb rubbed against her skin in reassurance.
“Y/N’s coming.” Michael whispered to Calum. He immediately dropped his arm from around his waist and shot a look to Maya saying that he would explain at a different time.
He tried to offer a smile to his sad friend but she refused to meet his eyes. Instead she moved to stand by Ashton, causing the groups attention to go to her. No one failed to notice Harry’s hand was gripping Y/N’s.
Harry seemed like a protective guard dog that was on edge when a stranger walked past its owner.
“There you are! I was wondering where the hell you were! Also, I’m gonna kill you, Cal said you did most of the work for this.” Ash teased, making Y/N’s lips quirk into a genuine grin.
“You’re gonna kill me? No buddy, it’s the other way around! You told Harry that I helped write your albums.” She accusingly joked, jabbing the black haired man in front of her on his chest.!
Ashton burst into laughter, “Harry, mate, that was a secret. Cant trust no one..”
Harry smiled in his charming boyish way, his red nails on show as he lifted his hands to shrug as if it was no big deal, “Maybe I wanted a share of her writing talent.”
Michael looked at Luke with wide eyes. Holy shit, Harry just pulled out a wild card. Could the British man not even hide how enamored he was with their friend? Michael admired his confidence to ask Y/N to write with him. Writing was something you had to have complete trust in with a person, and the proccess undoubtedly bonded souls.
Y/N blushed after Harry’s claim that her writing held any sort of talent. She usually went with the flow and the words poured out.
“You gonna do it? Help him write a song?” Luke asked
“She said yes. Unless she was fuckin’ with meh.” Harry said, side eyeing the woman next to him. He saw her laugh and he internally gave himself bonus points for being able to do that while she was so down in the dumps.
“Dinners involved with the deal so I jumped on it.” Her attention turned to Harry, “As long as it’s not Chick-tik-A. Their food sucks and they’re a company against homosexuals.... that’s a no from me dawg.”
Harry smiled, knowing that Y/N was feeling better.
“That’s great, bub. I’m super proud of you. I know the song will be a fucking hit.” Calum said, shifting his head to look at her.
For the first time she raised her eyes and sadly smiled at him, “Thanks Cal...”
****************
Months later and Y/N was truly doing better. Her heart still hurt a bit from Calum but she was gradually getting over it. Seeing him wasn’t to the same point of familiarity as it used to be, but the two friends were working it out as best as they could.
And truth be told, Y/N liked Maya. Maya was honestly a good match for Calum, as annoying as it was.
And Y/N didn’t have time to be upset because Harry had her too busy with constant adventures and late nights. She appreciated it. She appreciated him.
Tonight he took her to the poetry cafe that they liked. It’s small little place at the end of L.A. He said he found it one day when he was walking alone, pretty sad and feeling alone. Stumbled across the joint and found a deep connection to it. He explained how much it meant to him and it soon became important to her too.
The dim glowing lights brought upon a comforting blanket of support and trust to whomever dared to enter such a vulnerable place. Those who stood on the pedestal of expression compiled their feelings into a glorious ballad.
Harry and Y/N sat at the small table in the back, matching style ball caps sat upon their heads. His a pretty purple and hers a yellow. He told her that it would be better if they kept their identies more hidden.
Their chairs were moved to sit closer next to each other so that their hands could intertwine. They held hands a lot because it was comforting and felt so so so right. His thumb rubbed against her hand as another young woman stood up to go.
I was alone
Felt like no one cared
Ate dinner for one and cried tears enough for two
But something changed in my life
Because there was you
Y/N stopped listening as the woman’s words soaked past her skin, muscles, bones, and swirled to embed into her soul. These words were ones that she personally related with. Sure she had friends but she was so lonely when it came to romance. Until recently.
She wasn’t certain what was going on with her and Harry, but she felt herself caring more and more until the point that he became her number one. She talked to him the most, saw him the most, and for fucks sake she thought about him the most.
He seemed to always be on her mind. If she found a cute sweater she would think about how Harry would wear it with his pearl necklace. Saw a dog? Awh, he would love to pet it. Tasted red wine? She’d think about the time that he spilled it on his counter and acted surprised when she licked it off, claiming that it couldn’t go to waste. If she looked at anyone attractive, she couldn’t help compare them to Harry.
It was exciting. Moving on from Calum and to Harry was new and it brought upon a lot of foreign feelings. As great as all that was, there was a worrisome idea lodged in her head. Could Harry just be acting as a good friend like Calum had? She wasn’t sure and she was too much of a wuss to figure it out.
Harry detached his hand to start clapping along with the crowd as the woman said her thank you and walked off the stage. Y/N blinked back to reality as Harry turned to her.
“That was beautiful, really raw and genuine.” He spoke, offering a smile that showed his perfectly arranged white teeth.
“Yeah, it- it really was.” She was doing a horrible job at convincing him that she actually paid attention to it.
“Love, I’m not incompetent , I know you weren’t listening- you’re too caught up in ya head. What’s going in there?” His fingers slotted within hers, his blue nails the same shade as hers. She painted both sets last night when she went over for dinner.
How could a woman look at a man and explain that she was falling in love with him, but she was scared because last time she was in love she got hurt- she thinks she loves him but she doesn’t want him to think he was a rebound.
She felt humiliated, her eyes avoiding his. The open sign on the window was suddenly the most amazing thing to look at.
“Y/N, dear? Talk to me.” His lips were so close to her ear that she could feel his breath when he spoke.
“My heart is in your hands and that’s fucking terrifying to me because, well, we saw how that went last time.” She muttered, still not looking at him but rather the other people there with their significant others.
Harry was suddenly standing up and pulling her out of the small cafe during a poetic interpretation about being bound to your family.
Her heart dropped to her stomach as the wind bit at her soft skin. She fucked up. She really stupendously fucked this good thing that was going on between them. She must’ve misinterpreted his good nature for feelings and was a stupid bitch that fell for it.
He pulled out the outside patio chair and sat her down. She gave him a quizzical look as he moved her legs apart so that he could sit in between them on the concrete.
Reseda green windows to the soul gazed into her, tears pooling around them. His cheeks were puffy and red. He was visibly upset.
“I’m so sorry, Harry. I didn’t mean to make you cry like this, I shouldn’t have said anything to you-“ she rambled in desperate need to fix this situation before she lost him completely.
“Shhh. Not the least bit upset, ‘m crying because you’re my soulmate.”
Her eyes widened in shock, a forceful cough ripping out of her throat at his confession. He soothed her, handing her his water to take a sip. She waved his hand away to signal that she was fine.
“Mum told me that Buddhists say if you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that's not the one. When you meet your soul mate, you'll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation. First time we shared a conversation i only felt peace and contentment. When I’m not with you, my mindset is off. I don’t like being away from you for long. I worry if you’re okay or I wonder if you are reading a book that’s making you sad. You get so into your books, love. The empathy doesn’t stop when it comes to characters.”
She slightly laughed as she recalled the time he waltzed in on her crying because your character in your book was alone on their birthday. He immediately was making her a cup of tea and bugging her about if something happened with work.
“I’ve been waiting for you for years. Honestly was hopelessly pinning after you. Like everyone knew but you. So when you admit you feel the same way...I got emotional.” He softly said, playing with the rings on his hand.
Her hands itched to be the ones twisting his fingers around. So she did. His hands melted into the skin of hers as he grabbed them. Her thumb twirled his left middle finger’s black band. He blushed at the feeling. She did tend to do this when they were submerged in a deep conversation.
“You’re an emotional man, Har. Endearingly so. I admire it more than you’d think.” She retorted.
Harry sat up so that he was sitting more on his knees so that he was closer. His face closer to hers. She could smell his cologne infiltrate her senses. She wished she could bathe in his sun-like presence forever.
“I happen to admire that you admire me.” He teased, blinking as more tears fell down his godlike sculpted face.
“You’re still crying, you’re gonna make me emotional.” She laughed as tears were starting to build up in her own ducts. This was really intimate and she was getting mushy.
“Can’t help it. Jus’ soft cuz of you.”
Her hands shifted to grab the collar of his coat, pulling it until his lips were melting into hers He hummed is satisfaction, his hands shifting to cup Y/N’s face to bring her closer. It was a desperate kiss, the kind where emotion tries to convey the feelings not able to form into words.
His lips molded to her, trying to memorize the taste for the rest of his days. His nose was shoved against her cheek as he slipped his tongue in, sliding it against hers greedily, finally doing this after dreaming of it for years. She pulled away for air, his lips chasing hers in a drunken daze.
“Let me breathe for a sec.” she gently pushed him away with her palm pressed against his face. He laughed, leaning back.
“Used to think singing on stage was the best feeling, but that was before I got to kiss those sweet lips. Just one more peck?” He made kissy faces in her direction.
“Thank you.”
His face scrunched up in confusion, “what?”
“Thank you for.. being there. Taking care of me like you do. Making me laugh by being dumb. Especially for buying pizza rolls in bulk. I know you don’t like them as much as you let on. But I do and you do it for me. Means a lot.”
“Anything for you, m’love,” He stood up and led out a hand, “Me and you. Please let that be the rest of my life.”
Y/N decided in that moment that Calum Hood getting a girlfriend was the best thing to ever happen to her.

Hiding from me?
Embry Call x reader
Summary: Embry got home and couldn’t find his imprint anywhere in the house, so he goes and looks at the only other place he thinks she would be.
Embry was puzzled. He texted you an hour ago and you assured him that you would be at home when he got back. He imagined walking inside and seeing you on the couch with the dogs, probably watching some true crime video. As soon as his shoes slipped off he walked towards the living room.
His brows furrowed as his eyes scanned the area. Fluffy blankets lay in the area your body usually occupied but you weren’t there. The dogs barked in excitement around him, just so happy that daddy was home.
“Hi little loves. Where’s mommy?” He asked the two golden retrievers. Their ears perked at her name and they began to bark loudly, running around the house to search.
Embry laughed at how eager they were to find you as soon as he mentioned your name. You weren’t there and the dogs halted at his feet once again in anticipation. Their dog faces screamed pet me god dammit.
His hands skimmed through their well groomed fur, thanks to her dedication to keeping them clean, petting them for a minute before he slowly rose back to his feet. He slipped his boots back on in a daze as his mind was stuck on her. He wished that she would give him a heads up when she was going to go out. He saw more shit than he would like to admit and worrying was in his nature.
“I’ll be back, boys. I’m gonna find that mommy of yours that likes to drive me crazy. Behave, little rascals.” He called out, blowing them kisses before turning the door knob.
Birds chirped a melody as their bodies fluttered from the assortment of trees. Embry flinched when one flew past his ear- making a swish sound. He smiled slightly at the fact that it scared him. A man who could turn into a bear sized wolf was spooked by a little bird in the woods. He internally swore to never think about it while shifted with the pack because they would tease him about it. Especially Jared.
His ears picked up soft music playing to the left of him. Honey-like voice of Hozier alerted the man that his fiancé was very close by. Y/N loved Hozier’s music. She explained it to him before that his songs just made her feel so understood and completely loved. Embry then would joke that Hozier should be with her instead, to which she would hit him and tell him to shut up.
He peeked around the tree to see her form. His heart soared at the sight before him. A sheet was spread on the ground. The blue and white pattern reminded Embry of the floor mats in her car. Floor mats that he bought you for her birthday three years ago. It was the first year they were together, and he wanted to get her something that she would use everyday and appreciate. She loved the gift. She was so damn appreciative of everything he did. She was actually appreciative of life itself. So sweet and naturally good that it made his heart hurt.
Herbody lay sprawled on the sheet with her head looking up towards the sky. He wondered why she was looking up because the trees covered the blue sky. Her fingers tapped on the fabric of her shirt resting against her midsection to the beat of “Wasteland, baby.”
A smile split his lips apart as he heard her mess up a lyric and laugh to herself about it. She shifted where she laid to a sitting up position to check her phone that sat next to her feet. Embry took this as his que.
“Hiding from me, sweets?” His voice startled her. A surprised scream left her lips as she threw her phone onto the ground. She glared at him, her hand coming up to flash him her middle finger.
“You dick, you scared the hell out of me. Be a normal person and text me a warning that you’re coming.” She spoke, hand over her heart to feel it beating out of her chest.
He blushed sheepishly before defending himself, “Not fair because, one, you should have told me that you were coming out here and two- don’t call me a dick. I prefer the names; handsome, lover boy, bub, and occasionally cutie pie. Well I’d take cutie pie over dick any day.”
She rolled her eyes at his speech but offered a loving smile all the same. She couldn’t help it. No matter what the man in front of her did, she thought he was the sun, the moon, and the stars. A part of her felt guilty for not warning him where she would be.
“I admit, a simple text would’ve been thoughtful. So I’m sorry about that, but you know I hate when you sneak up on me.”
His body came to rest beside hers on the thin sheet that barely separated their bodies from the natural dirt and grime of Mother Nature. His brown eyes gazed over her beautiful features in appreciation and adoration.
“Didn’t mean to spook you...” he mumbled, leaning over to kiss the side of her head. She hummed as he pulled away, “Why are you out here anyway?”
She sighed, crossing her arms, “Greg from work was being a sexist asshole, and I argued with him about the wage gap for about an hour. My nerves were so shot when I got home that I had to disconnect. Come out here and focus on the sweet things in life.”
Embry listener to all she had to say, soaking in her feelings as if he was a sponge used to clean up spilled water. He would always be attentive to how she felt because his mom taught him to care about women more than just lovers, but to care about them as deep counterparts to life, as a great friend.
Y/N cared too much sometimes and that put a burden on her shoulders. He wanted to help carry that burden any time he could.
“Greg is the one who you should be calling a dick.”
She laughed, nudging his arm with her elbow, “Oh I called him that and more. Trust me. I’m glad I have a sweet man like you that actually cares about women instead of seeing them as servants.”
His finger tips grazed her collar bone, dancing around the soft skin that was cold compared to his lava temperature. Goosebumps arose from the rapid heat. They traveled down her skin until his fingers connected with hers.
“My mother raised me right, and apparently a lot of parents could take notes from her. Next time he argues with you, just call me and hand him the phone. I will school him like no other, teach him how to respect others.” His low voice rumbled.
“I’m sure you will, lover boy. I don’t doubt it.”
Embry bit his lip as he let the silence wash over the couple. A bird flew past again and he jumped, internally cursing the damn animal for getting him twice within ten minutes.
“I don’t want to rush you, but I’m very hungry. I’ve been thinking about that Italian place we went to a couple months ago.” His thumb rubbed circles against her skin.
“Luittei’s.. yeah; that place was good. You wanna go there?” She asked, looking up at him.
“Not very subtle, was I?”
Y/N patted his arm. She then stood up and helped him up too, “You’re cute, but no. Not subtle at all. I want Italian too though.”
Embry bent down and grabbed the sheet in his hands, her grabbing the other side to fold it harmoniously.
“I love you.” His voice cracked a bit as his tongue delivered the earnest words. Letters strung together that formed such a true and genuine message. Loving her was as natural as breathing to him and he was sure it would always be. His tone surprised her.
“I love you too, Em.”

Blast to the past
Sodapop Curtis x Reader
Summary: Soulmates are very tricky because sometimes two people who are meant to be are born in two different generations. Your soulmate can be born three days after you die. Luckily the mystical universe transports you there to meet yours. That’s how you find yourself back in the 1960’s instead of the present.
Tumblr media
Warnings: hinting at sexual assault
~~~~~~
Friday night is ladies night. It has been since you were twelve and it will be until you die. The core group gets together and does whatever seems interesting for the evening. The three of you ranged in activities of going to the movies, getting something to eat, thrifting, people watching, getting coffe and sitting at an empty park- you name it and it’s been done.
Tonight the gang decided to get smoothies and sit in an empty parking lot. The small town didn’t allow much entertainment for freshly graduated adults. Especially for adults that wanted more to life than such a simple place could provide.
Claire laid on the pavement, dark hair swirling around her shoulders as she turned to gaze at the moon. She was beautiful in the moonlight, soft skin glowing. You were always jealous of her unique good looks, but never aimed bitter thoughts at her. She was a warm and loving friend who was literally a ride or die.
Claire turned her head to look at Margo who was sitting upright with her keys in hand, twirling them around her hands. Margo was the wild one of the trio. The jokester who was basically a meme lord. You three fit like puzzle pieces, best friends for ever.
Claire and you shared a look of amusement as Margo dropped her keys, mumbling a quiet shit before laughing and picking them back up to repeat her actions.
“This is supposed to be a quiet, soul searching moment you know.” You deadpanned, lips curling into a smile as Margo rolled her eyes and flipped you off.
“If you wanted quiet then you picked the wrong bitch to bring along.”
Claire shook her head, “Okay, let’s post on snap about a replacement bitch. Preferably one that can be silent at times.”
You shifted so that your legs were pulled up in front of you instead of rested against the cold ground of the parking lot. A funny thing to add popped into your mind and you knew it would make them laugh, “There’s one more requirement though. It’s vital.” You added, swirling the contents in your cup to break up the remaining blotches of ice.
“Hmm?”
“They have to be willing to sacrifice their own life for Pakistan”
Claire busted out laughing hitting her cup off her leg and Margo snorted, causing everyone to laugh even harder. That fucking tik tok would never not be funny to you guys. Especially when their soulmates thought it was hilarious and would say it when you guys failed to.
Claire found her soulmate a year ago at a football game. Her soul mark burned when the cute player from the other team bumped into her after the game. Gage was the coolest dude you knew. He treated you guys like best friend and he treated her like she was the sky, the moon, and the stars. Not long after Claire found him, Margo found Naomi. A badass chick that was a tattoo artist in town. Margo now has little tattoos decorating her body from the designs her soulmate came up with. Naomi and Margo just fit, and you were happy for her. Happy for both of them.
Day after day with no luck of finding your other half, you were starting to despair for yourself. Soulmates usually found each other close to adulthood if they were in the right life time. It was disappointing to go to bed every night knowing that you were still alone. Your best friends loved you more than anything and always included you, but the soulmate connection was different- special above everything else. And here you lacked that.
Margo dropped her keys again but left them there. She picked up on your solemn mood after you didn’t talk for a few moments.
“I wanted to go camping this weekend, maybe you’ll find your lover there?” She softly spoke, giving you a hopeful smile.
You sadly smiled back, “I dunno, probably not. Sorta giving up over here.”
You looked down at the simple soul mark. An old pop bottle was the initials S.P in the middle with the letters DX very small on the bottom left underneath it. Marks were supposed to signify something important about your other half, describe something about them to you. Ever since you were old enough to remember you would buy old fashioned pop in order to collect the bottles. It meant the world to you.
“Don’t say something like that, of course you will meet them dude. We found ours early but that didn’t mean you won’t ever find them. I’m sure your other half is right around the corner.” Claire supported, patting your thigh for comfort.
“Yeah, it could be Harry Styles for all we know. And honestly it would make sense because how the hell do you meet someone famous like that?” Margo trailed off.
You scoffed, “Harry Styles- my ass. His indicator would so not be an old pop bottle. It would be a guitar or something like that.”
“I guess so. Point is, don’t fret. You have time. The world may fuck with people, but not good ones like you.” Margo grinned childishly.
“Yeah, you’re right. I am good. I sacrifice my own life for Pakistan.”
“God dammit, I hate you.” Claire stood up and offered a hand, pulling you both upright, “We better get going. The same cop has been driving by and I don’t like it.”
“ACAB.” Margo chanted as she crawled into the backseat of the car. You laughed and pushed her the rest of the way in with your foot before shuffling in yourself.
‘Best friend’ by Rex Orange County blared through the speakers as the car moved on the damp roads in the dark night. You guys sang loudly, hands out the window to feel the wind ripple against fingertips. Your heart filled with adoration of the girls in the vehicle with you. Getting sad about the soulmate thing sucked but dealing with it was easier when you had two people to assure you and take your mind off of it.
You waved bye as you walked up the steps of your house. You quickly noticed that no one else was home. Your siblings were off with their friends for the night and your parents went out for their anniversary. You sighed, taking your shoes off lazily. A warm bath would feel so nice to finish out the day. You stretched before taking a step forward toward the bathroom but your foot caught underneath the rug and you fell face first onto the hard surface of the tile.
****
Your body felt like it was on fire while rolling over to rest on your back. Forcing your eyes open, you gasped at the sight before you. Instead of laying on the bathroom floor, you were in an empty parking lot. Your heart thud roughly in your chest as you scrambled to stand.
Your mind began to panic as you didn’t recognize your surroundings. An old diner sat across from the lot and it wasn’t the one you, Claire, and Margo sometimes went to. You brushed yourself off and looked around, confused as to what was going on. Had you gotten drunk and imagined you were home and somehow managed to get lost? Did you fall so hard that you passed out and got kidnapped? Sharp pains alerted your mind to put a finger to your face. There was a scratch from where you fell, you must’ve hit it. You were just glad that your wallet was still in your hand but your phone wasn’t. You searched for it but no luck.
You meekly opened the diner door and shuffled inside. It was themed to be an old authentic diner. The usual black and white checkered floor tile, the twisty barstools, and the car sign decorations on the wall. Diners like this were adorable in your eyes.
You went to sit at a both and grabbed the young pretty waitress. She gazed at your clothes in confusion which made you internally frown. Your outfit wasn’t inappropriate or anything. Blue khaki shorts that came above mid thigh and a white and blue tie dye shirt.
“Excuse me, where am I?” You asked, embarrassment creeped up your spine as she gave you an old look.
“Tulsa. Are you lost?” She asked, shifting the tray to rest on her hip.
You quickly shook your head no, “Thank you, I’m not lost. Just uh, traveling. I’ll just have a water please.”
She gave you a funny look but nodded, going to get you the cup of water. Everyone in the diner glanced at you in curiously which made you paranoid. Alone without a phone and no escape plan. Not an ideal set up. You tried to rack your brain for what the hell was going on but you were outta luck.
Water was set down on the table and she stood there, observing you. You felt her eyes staring at your piercings, especially the hoop in your nose. You awkwardly looked up at her and smiled, hoping she would go away.
“That’s an odd looking necklace, Miss.” Her hand casually pointed towards the crystal gem necklace hanging between your breasts over your shirt.
You shrugged, “You’ve never seen them before? They sell them at Walmart or any hippy store really.”
She wrinkled her nose in judgement, “Huh, never heard of Walmart. Must be from wherever you’re from.”
You choked on air, coughing loudly to force oxygen back into your lungs. How could someone now know Walmart? Was she fucking with you right now? Waitresses usually weren’t rude unless you were rude to them first.
“They’re like nation wide? One in every town? Seriously, every town.”
No emotion appeared on her face as she shook her head no, “I still don’t know what you’re talking about... do your parents buy you those shorts? Do they care about your nose ring?”
You squirmed in your seat at her question, her voice carried a shrill tone that let you know that she didn’t approve. Jesus, did this girl think you should be in a full body suit without showing skin? You pulled them down subconsciously to try to hide some of your upper thigh. As for your nose ring, you were baffled as to why your that was an issue. So many women had them.
“I bought the shorts, but they don’t have an issue with them if that’s what you’re trying to get at? They think the nose ring is cute too. My parents are very cool with me choosing to do what I wish with my body.”
Her eyes widened in a holy-cow-you’re-crazy sorta way, “My parents would kill me if I looked like you.”
A dry laugh escaped your lips at her harsh words. And they were harsh, whether she met them to be or not. Putting women down wasn’t what you stood for and you really thought that the world was passed shaming people for what they look like.
“It’s twenty-twenty , they shouldn’t care about what you look like. Acceptance is key to a happy family.”
“What’s that mean?” She cocked her head to the side in confusion.
“Huh?”
“Twenty-twenty what is that?”
You glanced at the table to your left that was intently listening in on the conversation. You felt uncomfortable in the booth. Two guys stared shamelessly at your legs and you wanted to crawl under the table and hide.
“The year? It’s two thousand and twenty?”
She threw her head back, blonde hair following to fall down her back, “You really are an odd ball.”
You furrowed your eyebrows.
“It’s nineteen sixty nine, dear. Your cheek is bleeding and I’m assuming you fell because you’re acting crazy.” She quietly said, bending down to your eye level. A part of you wanted to hit her so hard that she fell down. Condescending attitudes rubbed you the wrong way to say the least.
You were fuming as you took two dollars out and put them on the counter, “Have a good evening.” You gritted out.
***
The cold night air pinched your skin as you walked aimlessly around the small town. You came to the conclusion that it was 1969 and you realized why the waitress was so taken back by your appearance. Girls in the sixties probably didn’t have shorts this short or nose piercings. It all made sense as you took in the town. The old styled cars, how people dressed, hell- how they talked. Old ass terms that people only used as a joke now.
So yes, you were in the past, but how and why. Watching Shameless in your bed right now seemed like heaven on earth. Your mom and dad’s faces haunted your mind when you thought about never getting to see them again. Tomorrow they would get back only to see that you have disappeared without a trace. Your dad will be so worried and heartbroken and your mom will be calling everyone to ask if they saw you.
And what would Claire and Margo think? You just knew they would feel so guilty for not knowing when they were the last ones you saw. Hurting them only hurt you more.
You found an old tree and sat down against it, letting the tears splash down your face. It was cold out from the brisk air and you had nothing to layer up with. This sucks, mega sucks, you noted.
An old red Ford Mustang parked on the road and two men got out of the car and headed your way. You clutched your wallet close to your chest in predetermined fear. Two men walking towards any woman would make that woman scared. It was a built in instinct that still wasn’t gone in the twentieth century. Especially with the men from this time. You knew women weren’t truly equal yet and they especially weren’t in this time.
They had on khaki pants and different colored polyester sweaters. Same guys from the diner that were watching you. Horrible look in their eyes as they stood in front of you.
“What’s a pretty lady like you sitting out here alone for? It’s late.” The one wearing a yellow sweater asked. His hair was brown and smoothed back, you were unable to see his eyes in the dark. He bent down to look at you in a way you didn’t appreciate. You were not having it.
“Really? Is it late? Couldn’t tell, not like the moon’s out or anything.” You retorted, shifting further back into the tree.
“Woah, no need to get lippy with me, hun.” He said, looking back at the other guy with the red sweater. Red shook his head to agree with yellow.
“Let’s not get comfortable with the nicknames. I’d say I’d call the cops but hah, ACAB... not that you would know about that.” You trailed off. You rambled when you got nervous and it was not a good feature.
“ACAB? You’re a weird one, aren’t you?” Red said, leaning down too.
“Weird, but an absolute doll. Not many girls ‘round here show skin like you.” Yellow said, hand grabbing your thigh.
Your hand slapped his away lightening fast before jumping up and backing away. You took your shoe off and held it up in defense, “Go fuck yourself! Get away from me.”
The men looked at each other in shock, assumingly at the vulgar words that escaped your pretty lips. You backed further away until you felt safe enough that you put your shoe back on and ran. You heard their feet shuffle in the grass as they ran after you.
You turned down an alley way and tripped again on a stick in the middle of the road, the boys were suddenly visible meaning you would not have time to get up and run. Instead of trying to escape, you grabbed said large stick and grasped it tightly between your hands. You wish Margo and Claire were by your side right now. You could do anything with them.
“A stick? Really? We just wanna spend some time with you.” Red said, walking closer.
“Fuck this! Fuck this so hard! Fuck toxic masculinity that makes pricks like you think it’s okay to do shit like this! Systematically you were probably raised to think chasing a woman is okay- judging from the car that you have money. Kids with money, especially in these days, are spoiled and never told no, but I don’t want you. Leave.” You shouted, twirling the stick like you saw so many times in Starwars movies. You saw the two men slowly step back and you were proud of yourself for fending them off until you heard another masculine voice behind you.
“You soc scum need to bounce.”
You moved to the side to be equally separated from whoever was behind you. A man about your age stood firmly beside two others that looked a few years off, one younger and one older.
The one that spoke was standing in the front and boy, he was beautiful. Dark hair slicked black to rest comfortably against his neck. He wore a blue and white flannel with blue jeans. His body was slim but you just knew he had some lean muscle on him. Red and yellow turned and walked away but not without making some derogatory claims about greasers.
You panted, finally breathing again as you doubled over, stick still firmly grasped in between your palms and fingers.
“Are you okay?” You heard the same voice quietly ask. You noticed they were standing right in front of you now. You meekly looked up to gaze into his pretty blue eyes. He hissed out in pain as he looked at his arm at the same exact moment that your mark started to burn so bad that you couldn’t take it. A searing pain ripped through every single one of your cells. You did it! You finally found your fucking soulmate! Without being able to stand the pain and excitement, your body tumbled forward for the second time that evening.
~~~
You heard rustling going on around you, but you clenched your eyes in fear that you wake up still stuck in the past.
“If I open my eyes and I’m not home, I’m gonna throw hands with whatever God there is.” You mumbled, slowly opening your eyes. The handsome man sat on the floor by your face, causing you to yelp and quickly move to a sitting position, hand clinging to your necklace.
“Hey, calm it, I won’t hurt you.” His gentle voice spoke. You laughed nervously as it hit you that he was your soulmate. Your life was fucked, oh so fucked. Sure, you found the one, but in a different decade!
“The world is a cruel place.” You muttered, hands removing from your necklace to rub down your face in irritation, “My life is a joke.”
He sat up on his knees, cautiously moving closer towards you as if you were a scared stray cat that he was attempting to take home to keep and take care of. You internally gagged at the idea of being kept inside as a house wife now that you were living in this time. You could not survive like that.
“It’s not. Usually people are happier to find their soulmate, yanno? I’m happy... I thought you would be.” His voice seeped with disappointment and pain.
You sighed as you felt his sadness creep up your bones and invade your sanity, “I would be thrilled if I wasn’t transported back in time. I’m not kidding, I’m from year twenty twenty. I can show you.”
You grabbed your wallet and ripped your lisence out, showing him. His eyes squinted as he read your birthday and the date you got it. His eyes enlarged as he looked back at you.
“That- that’s just impossible.”
You snorted, “S’what I thought too. Guess the universe really shoved us together on this one... and uh, thanks for saving me earlier, my inner jedi isn’t strong enough yet- I’m no obiwan.”
He furrowed his eyebrows, “I don’t know what that means.”
You blushed, “Big movie franchise that eventually comes out. I’ll try to avoid pop culture references... my bad.”
He smiled, pearly white teeth showing, “you’re really pretty, y/n.”
Your heart raced in your chest at how attractive he was. Claire and Margo would hardgirl swoon with you over him but they’re not here to join you, so you had to soak up his beauty all on your own. And him saying your name like that? God, that would make any girl bust a nut.
“How do you know my name?”
He shrugged, “Saw it when you showed me the date. The name surely suits you. I’m Sodapop, Sodapop Curtis.”
He held his hand out and you hesitantly met his half way as if to give him a handshake, but instead he intertwined your fingers together before moving closer. His skin was so warm against yours and all you wanted to do was pull him closer and bury yourself in his chest. Finally finding him was overwhelming after convincing yourself that you were doomed to be alone.
“Those guys that chased you, we ain’t letting them get away with it. We’ll find them and give ‘em a good what for.” A new voice spoke.
A kid, you guessed to be about 16, stood in the living room doorway, hands shoved deep into his jean pockets. He had longer brown hair like Sodapop, but his eyes were more hazel instead of the pretty blue. You awkwardly smiled, attempting to pull your hand away but Soda tugged it back, stubborn to lose contact so soon. He gave you a sweet smile to reassure you that he wasn’t going to try anything like the two men last night.
“Y/n, this is my brother ponyboy, and that’s my brother Darryl.” Soda said, pointing to the younger kid and the full on man that walked through the front door. You nervously waved with the hand that Soda didn’t claim.
“Hi, thank you guys for saving me... although I think my stick was pretty promising...” You awkwardly spoke making all three of them chuckle softly.
“Better safe than sorry.” Darry said, offering a smile, “Come on, Ponyboy. We will be back.”
Darry signaled Pony to go with him outside, you and Soda sat in silence as you heard the truck doors and the rumbling of an engine pulling away. His thumb grazed over the back of your hand. Your insides felt like they were melting. Sodapop was extremely attractive and you could not believe that you found him. Harry Styles has some competition for sure. Well, maybe that was going far. It’s Harry Styles, no one could really beat him.
“So what’s it like here? What do you do for fun?” You asked, looking around the house. You imagined the houses around to be very similar. Old couches, ancient TVs with the antennae’s, framed photos on the mantles, and the cool old wallpaper. Very similar to the sorta place your grandparents grew up in.
“Play cards every couple nights. Go to the drive in movies when I’m not working. Diner is open late at night so that’s where young folk hangout. We find good times.” He smiled softly, getting lost in his own thoughts, “What’s there to do for you?”
You couldn’t even begin to explain that you lay in your bed watching tik toks off your phone while Netflix plays softly in the background. Or that you quote memes in a parking lot with your friends. Soda would not understand memes at all and that would be a huge struggle because half the shit that came out of your mouth were memes.
“I have fires a lot at my house, we usually sorta just sit there and bullshit for hours but uh then there’s the usual- getting coffee and sitting in a parking lot. Not much to do in my town but eat and go somewhere to hangout...”
“That sounds nice.”
You shrugged, “More people than not get drunk or smoke weed everyday because what the hell else is there to do?”
He quirked an eyebrow, “you do that?”
You shook your head no, “My friends and I drink from time to time but not heavily. And we especially don’t go to parties because those are cesspools waiting to be caught by cops. Well, fuck cops anyway, but..”
You froze when you realized that cops in this time weren’t critized by the public as much. Political climate ranged from your time to now. Soda probably wouldn’t support the LGBTQ community, or if he did he didn’t know much about it. And racism surely lingered in the 1960’s air. You felt sick thinking about fighting barriers that you usually didn’t have to.
“Do girls swear a lot in the future?” He asked timidly, not wanting to upset you but also he was just very curious. He never heard ladies swear and especially not that word.
You snorted at how cute he was, “All the time. It’s normal for us. Trust me, if you are shocked by that you don’t want to imagine the crude things that are said daily..”
His thumb stopped rubbing circles on your hand and your heart faltered. He was probably used to obideint women who were dainty and didn’t outspeak too much. Women in this era were subservient and you could not be further from that. You had quite the mouth on you and your idea would not be oppressed. You graduated pretty high in your class. You were intelligent and political and that was mind blowing to men of this time. What if you were too much for him? You wouldn’t dare change but it would be heart breaking to know that your other half couldn’t take who you are as a person. As a woman.
“What you said about the cops.. what did they do wrong? I mean here they can be annoying but they try to be fair.” He asked, thumb rubbing your skin again. His eyes glanced down at your thighs and you blushed a bit, wishing you would’ve put on your sweatpants instead before leaving to go with the girls.
“If I explained it all, we would be sitting here for days. Long story short; African Americans still aren’t equal and they are murdered by cops at an unequal rate compared to the population size. Protests turned violent and the whole country is a mess. Half the country trusts cops and the other half wants the systematic corruption to be dismantled. Personally, I’m with the latter. So cops aren’t really my heroes. I try to avoid them. Of course my dad disagrees because he’s old fashioned and doesn’t get it, but what’s so hard to get about treating people equally. America’s supposed to be a melting pot so what’s with the racism and harsh divide? Guess the founding fathers only meant equality when it came to every white man- and that’s bullshit.”
You stopped rambling to see that soda was grinning from ear to ear at you. You gave him a questioning look. “Did I miss something?”
“You are wicked smart with politics. Wiser than anyone I know, prettier than anyone I know.”
~~~
Three weeks later you found yourself walking through the library with ponyboy, fingers grazing over every book you walked past. Books were little keys to jump inside different worlds. You wished you could find a book from 2020 that would magically transport you back. You found Soda, but at what price? You wanted to go home where you had control over your life. You were lost here.
“Any book recommendations? I’m sure you had to read a lot of these.” The youngest Curtis asked as you rounded the corner.
“Hmm, ever read any Tolkien books? Like The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings Trilogy?”
“No.”
“Awh, goodie, I get to be your mentor for this. Basically these are the best damn books that you will ever read. Bit lengthy but the detail is beautiful.”
He gently took the Hobbit in his hands, one gripping the back while the other flipped through the pages, examining how many there were before he tucked it under his arm, affirming that he would take a stab at it.
“What’s it about? Is it girly stuff- not that I mind really.”
Ponyboy was unlike the rest of the gang. He was a little softy that you wanted to hide from the world in order to protect him. The gang protected him physically but his feelings were usually punched, as much as Soda tried. Ponyboy felt things differently and deeply. He was in touch with literature and his life revolves around movies and books. You imagined how much he would adore the twentieth century with how much content there would be for him.
You crossed your arms and shifted your weight to one foot, “It’s a fantasy set up. So like elves, dwarves, hobbits, trolls, orcs, shapeshifters, magic, and I’m sure there’s more but my mind is blanking here. I promise it’s worth it. And I can explain as you read.”
“You’re a nerd?”
His innocent question made you laugh, “I guess you could say that, bud. Give it a shot and if you don’t like it, so be it,” you muttered this part to him, “although no one can resist middle earth’s charm.”
“What’s middle earth?”
“Where it takes place, it’s like another version of earth basically. But hey! You’re already so interested. Soon enough you’ll be wishing you were an elf slaying orcs too.” You joked, jabbing him in the side, “and if you say you wanna be a dwarf instead, you’re dead to me.”
He smiled, “what if I like the humans more? What then?”
“Then, I would consider you an absolute freak. Humans in this are like mediocre. Well, in the hobbit at least. Lord of the Rings they are more of a key part, but they’re so boring compared to the other cultures. Unless you like boring?” You raised an eyebrows at him.
“No, I ain’t boring. And I don’t like boring either.” He stubbornly said, walking side by side with you to go check your books out.
You grabbed a few random books that you wanted to check out. Soda worked and he refused to let you go anywhere alone, so you and Ponyboy just read a lot. It was summer vacation so he was outta school and had all the time in the world. You liked hanging out with the kid.
The two soc boys were standing by the counter when you guys got there. You huffed as the one winked at you. In that moment you wished you were legolas with a dagger and could gut him.
“Surprise seeing you here, considering I doubt you guys are literate.” You spoke, smiling at the librarian as you handed her the books.
“Surprise seeing you here with only the kid, we’ve heard you’re shaking up with Sodapop now. Looks like the greaser found his soulmate.”
The derogatory term aimed at Soda fueled your veins with rage. Blood rushed into your head at the idea that these guys thought they were above Soda, who was the kindest man you knew. Your heart told you to call them motherfucking cunts but your brain warmed you that it wasn’t a good choice. You glanced over and noticed that Pony looked as mad as you. If you retaliated, you wouldn’t get beat up but if he did, he would go home bloody while you trail behind him with a guilty face. You would give them a little talk.
You blew air out of your mouth before turning around to them, “Boys, I don’t know if you keep up with the news or not, but Vietnam is an ugly war filled with horrible people. Do you know what soldiers see? People being burned alive, dogs getting shot down, bombs obliterating people, women in villages getting raped, and most importantly you watch the men you grew to love die right before you.”
The two men stared at you wide eyed as you paused to grab the books from the librarian who was also now listeninf to you.
“Drafts are inevitable, and you know what? War doesn’t care who you are; greaser or soc. The enemy won’t stop to ask your financial stability before ending your life. The boys who you deem greasers could be the ones to save you from dying. Maybe try being nice because you never know who you will end up with on that field.”
Ponyboy’s mouth opened in shock when the two socs slowly back away and left without a single word. You hummed in victory before ushering the younger boy out of the building with you.
“Where did you hear those things? Darry keeps up with that stuff and I never heard nuthin like that.” Ponyboy asked after a few minutes.
You guys walked through the gate of the house but you halted before the steps, “A lot about the war is exposed after it ends. We learned about it in school. I used it against them as a wake up call. Try not to worry too much about it.”
Pony slowly nodded, “okay.”
The door opened and two-bit shuffled out the door with a beer can in his left hand, right hand wedged in his pocket.
“You guys are in trouble.” He sang as pony pushed him out of the way and walked into the house. Two-bit walked off the porch and turned to head home. He didn’t wanna be present for the yelling.
Soda and Darry’s heads snapped to the door and you held the books tighter to your chest to hide yourself. You two forgot to leave a note where you were going and now you were going to get scolded.
“Where the hell have you two been? It’s past 8:00.” Darry scolded, throwing down the newspaper that been in his hands.
You looked to Soda for help but even he shook his head to signal that he was just as upset. You handed the books to Pony before holding your hands up in surrender.
“Oh no, you caught us. We were at the library.” You joked, quickly knocking the smile off your face when the two older Curtis boys glared at you.
“Not funny. Anything could’ve happened to you.” Soda reprimanded. Your soulmate was always worried for you when he wasn’t around. He knew how horrible soc could be and they clearly had an interest in you. It was bad enough being away from you, but getting home to you and his kid brother not there made his nerves fly through the roof.
“Socs aren’t a worry when she’s around, trust me.” Pony mumbled, setting the books down on the table.
“Whats that mean? Did those socs bother you again, Y/N?” Soda suddenly was in front of you, checking your body for any cuts or bruises. You smacked his hands away.
“No, simmer down, I’m fine.” You said, offering him a reassuring smile.
“Then what happened!”
“She shut them down with her wit before they could even start. Those soc didn’t know how to respond so they turned around and walked right away.” Pony explained.
“What did you say?” Darry asked, slightly amused. He liked you very much and was glad that such an extraordinary woman was meant for his little brother.
You shared a look with pony to silently tell him to shut up about what you really said, “Nothing that’s important. What does matter is that Ponyboy got a bunch of books that he should be reading.”
He playfully rolled his eyes, “You want me to read so you can talk to me about elves.”
You nodded, “Well yeah, they’re the best part so get to it! Once you start you will love it.”
Ponyboy nodded before picking up the books and heading towards his shared room with Soda to begin reading. You smiled as you watch him go. You knew deep down that he was excited to read but didn’t want to make it seem like he was. He liked to taunt you with your taste in movies and books but you knew he really did agree.
“You baby him more than Soda does.” Darry stated, giving you a teasing glance.
“I don’t baby him.” Soda argued, glaring at his older brother.
“You do, Soda. Darry’s right though, I baby him a lot but I can’t help it. Pony’s a good kid that’s curious about the world. Reminds me of my best friend back home... I am sorry that we didn’t leave a note, we didn’t even think about it.” You admitted, grabbing Soda’s hand and intertwining it with his. He melted into your touch and you could tell that he wasn’t mad anymore. He couldn’t stay mad at you even if he tried.
“I know, I know. Just try to be more careful.” Darry softly spoke, “I’m headed to get a shower and go to bed. Don’t let Pony stay up too late.”
Soda muttered a yes and goodnight as you saluted Darry in a joking way, making the oldest Curtis smile and roll his eyes before going about his way.
As soon as the door was shut you were pulled into Soda’s arms, both wrapped tightly around your midsection as he nosed against your neck. You blushed as you wrapped your arms around him too, smelling the oil and dirt that came with working at the DX. It was an oddly comforting smell. Distinctly him. Your soul mark tingled as he left a soft kiss against the skin of your throat.
“You gave me a real fright, doll.” He softly spoke. Your eyes fluttered shut as he pulled you closer, his lips grazing your skin with his words, “ just worried when you’re not around, ‘m always thinking about you.”
“I didn’t know you thought about anything other than cars all day,” you poked.
He snorted, “yeah right. As if.”
“I’m so used to my independence that I forgot that here I need to let people know where I’m going.”
He pulled away slightly, “Did your parents not care about your safety?”
You snorted, “They did. Of course they did, but it was so easy to get ahold of them that I could just let them know while I was away. Plus once I turned 17 they stopped really caring what I did as long as I wasn’t doing anything sketchy. And I was always with my best friends.”
“Makes sense. Darry doesn’t care what I do if I’m with Steve...”
You pullled away and picked up one of the books to start reading it, “He should be the most concerned when you’re around that boy.”
You sat on the couch and held the book in your lap as you gave him a pointed look. He rolled his eyes. You and Steve sorta got along. He was nice and all to you, but he was a dick to ponyboy and that wasn’t appreciated. He walked to the kitchen to get a pop.
Minutes later he sat beside you on the couch, glancing down at the words splashed across the pages. He skim read but the book didn’t seem that great to him.
“Y/n?”
“Hmmm, soda?” When he didn’t reply you half way shut the book and turned to him, “what’s up?”
“Does it ever bother you that you’re so much smarter than me?”
Your heart burned at his question. Soda had a complex that he was stupid because he dropped out of high school. Everyone knew he did it because of his situation in which he tragically lived. Darry couldn’t do everything on his own and soda knew that. He sacrificed his future for the better of his small family. He wasn’t dumb.
“Education changes through years, so a lot of new material has been taught to me that you wouldn’t have known.”
He crossed his arms against his chest and slunk down in the cushion, “Come on, for real. Doesn’t it bother you that I’m a drop out?”
You set the book down and shifted so that your hands wrapped around his right bicep. You leaned your head on his shoulder. He didn’t look at you, instead he was staring holes into his bedroom door.
“Sometimes I feel like you should’ve been Ponyboy’s soulmate instead of mine.” He softly spoke, “He’s brilliant.”
“Oh my god, Soda. Can it. The universe wouldn’t send me decades back to find you if we weren’t meant to be. Not one part of me cares that you didn’t finish high school. You’re Soda. The smart man who takes care of his family. Does it bother you that I’m brainless when it comes to cars?”
Soda gave you a look like you were insane, “I don’t mind at all.”
“See, it doesn’t matter. I don’t see you as dumb and I wish you would stop seeing yourself that way too.”
Ponyboy walked into the living room, blonde hair messy as if he was playing with it. His cheeks were flushed from sitting under blankets and he looked a bit sleepy. Reading always made him a bit tired from how at peace he was, which was rare in his current life.
“Y/N, I don’t know how to feel about Bilbo. He seems good but he also seems a little selfish.” He said, eyes skimming along some of the words.
You smiled, “He’s a really pure character. You’ll grow to enjoy him. What part did you get to?”
Just like that Soda was in a better mood. Watching you speak so happily and effortlessly to his little brother about a book made his heart soar. Sometimes he felt like he couldn’t connect with Pony like he wanted to. And where he was lacking you were there to make up for it.
A few hours later Soda sweetly kissed you goodnight before retiring to his shared room with Pony. You snuggled into the couch with blankets wrapped around you.
~~~
Opening your eyes you saw that you were laying in your bed instead of the Curtis’ couch. Panic flood through your veins at the idea of returning home without the boys. Your heart was racing out of your chest as you looked at the decorations on your wall. A place that felt like your safest place was now a personal hell.
You wanted to return home but not without Soda, Pony, Darry, Two-bit and even Steve. God, you had to have been especially emo if you wished to see Steve more.
The idea of seeing Claire and Margo was beyond relieving but the pain of never seeing Soda again almost cancelled it out. Once again you would be the friend without a soulmate- without a better half. You sighed as angry tears slipped from your eyes. Why did the world have to fuck with you so much? You didn’t have a soulmate, found them in another decade, and then when you grew adapted to the times and people, Mother Earth ripped you back to your old life.
“Hun, why are you crying?” You heard Soda say. You tried to sit up to look for him but a firm arm was wrapped around your middle. Somehow you completely didn’t register that when you woke up.
You struggled to turn around and there he was. Beautiful Sodapop Curtis laying right beside you in your bed. In 2020. His hair was slightly shorter but his kind blue eyes were still the same. He was still the same handsome boy from the 1960’s.
A choked sob escaped your lips as you wrapped your arms around him, pulling yourself as close as you could. Warm skin against yours assured yourself that he was real. This was real. Not some dream that your brain cruelly conjured you in attempt to calm you down.
“Did you have a nightmare?” He softly asked, a hand coming to rub up and down your back. His gesture only made more tears leak out of your eyes. You were so confused. Why wasn’t he freaking out too?
“I don’t know. Where’s Ponyboy and the guys?”
His hand faltered for a moment before he went back to comforting you, his lips pecked your forehead a few times, “They’re at home, probably asleep. Did you have a nightmare about them?”
Your mind was spiraling. Somehow the boys made it here too and soda seemed to not find this weird at all. He was acting like everything was normal.
“What year were you born?” You asked, clutching onto him, trying to remember what his skin felt like against yours.
“1999. Babe, tell me what’s going on. You’re starting to scare me here.” He lightly chuckled, adoring that you were clutching onto him as if he would disappear.
You didn’t know how to explain so you disguised it as a dream, “I had a weird dream, a really realistic one, that I was transported back to the 1960’s and I found you and the guys there. I can’t remember how we met now.”
You felt him shift slightly to get his arm free. He picked up his phone and the screen lit up. His lock screen was a picture of you two in front of a well taken care of old blue camaro.
“We met five months ago at a car show. You were with your grandpa, Claire, and Margo and I was with the boys. My mark burned when I accidently brushed your arm when I passed. We realized what was going on and we got this picture. We’ve been together since.” He recalled easily.
As he spoke, you could faintly see all of this happening in your point of view. How happy you felt when you saw him, the tingling of your mark, gushing internally at how attractive he was, you could even hear Margo cat calling in your head when you two got that picture.
Suddenly memories were dancing around in your brain. Getting Taco Bell together at midnight. Him joining your friend group to sit around the usual fire pit, him making you a s’more when you beg him even though you knew you didn’t have to ask more than once. Him building you the nice wooden shelf in your room that you put your weird Knick knacks on. Him laughing along when you scream “I will sacrifice my own life for Pakistan.” Going over for dinner and watching Lord of the Rings with pony boy.
“It’s all real.” You breathed out, “I’m sorry, that dream just really messed me up..”
He grinned down at you, his lips slowly drifting right above yours until they softly brushed together. Your soul mark tingled in utter delight. His arms slithered around your back as he moved on top of you, “I should be offended that you forgot about all of that, you know.”
You laughed, “Yeah... I’ll make it up to you by being nice to Steve for a whole day.”
He snorted, “wow, a whole day... that might kill you.”
You exaggeratedly nodded, “Honestly. He’s seriously the worst, soda.”
He boyishly smiled as he rolled off of you and stood up, grabbing his jeans and pulling them over his legs. He shoved his hands in each pocket to make them go in. He grabbed his plain black shirt and slid it over his shoulders and then head.
“I have to get home, Pony’s drivers test is in an hour and I’m the one to take him. He’ll for sure pass. I made sure of that. But tonight we will probably get cake to celebrate, the boys are all coming over. You’ll come, right?” He asked grabbing his hat and sliding it on his head.
“Wouldn’t miss it.”
He winked at you once and leaned over the bed to give you a quick peck, “see you soon, pretty lady.”
You blushed, “see ya soon, handsome.”
He smiled softly before walking out the door. You laid there in the bed in disbelief. Your dream was too real to not be true but at the same time you recalled meeting him in 2020 too.
Either way you were thankful that soda was in the present with you because it was honestly the best of both worlds.
A strong breeze hit the house and your window popped open. A small scrap of paper floated in and landed on your dresser. Your hands smoothed they paper before reading it.
“Sometimes reality changes for people who deserve it.”

Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Being an old member of Agent Coulson’s team meant that you knew all too well about the wanted man, Grant Ward. Ward thinks you are the link to reaching Daisy, and he takes you as a hostage. He completely missed out on  the information concerning a certain Winter Soldier that is very much in love with you. Bucky will find you.
Tumblr media
Coulson’ s team saved you and your best friend, Skye. Two girls that stuck together after they were too old to be in fostercare anymore. Coulson found you guys and gave you a home. A purpose. An actual life. S.H.I.E.L.D came with it’s ups and downs, the  first world shattering event for you was the betrayal of Grant Ward.
He infiltrated the team so easily. He was a protective team mate, or so you thought. He truly made you feel like you were family. You foolishly grew to love him, just as you did with the other members. Finding out that he was HYDRA was one of the worst days of your life. Skye crying frantically was in imagine forever burned within your memory.
At the time she weak and unable to do much to fight him. Skye went through  terrigenesis, found her true identity-now going by her birth name of Daisy Johnson- and became the strongest hero you knew. Quake was now a well known hero that even saved the Avenger’s ass more than once.
The team working with the Avengers caused your connection with Bucky Barnes to bloom. He was enamored with your intelligence and humility. You were refreshing compared to the intense heroes he was always surrounded with. Sooner than anyone expected, you two were in a fully committed relationship. At first your team was weary of him, him being the most terrifying assassin. But once they saw him look at you, there was no doubt that he was smitten.
Bucky and you went off the grid for a bit of a vacation. The team had been so busy lately that he only really saw you at night or if he visited the lab. He complained about it to Coulson and sure enough you had a week off. Bucky was stoked about getting you to himself.
A cabin in the middle of nowhere sat close to a small lake. A red canoe rested against the worn dock, the stain chipping terribly. You smiled at the sight of Bucky starting a fire- upon your request. Smores sounded irresistible and since you were irresistible to him, he made quick work to create roaring flames.
“Buck. I think we forgot the chocolate.” You sadly pointed out. He walked over and gently grabbed the bag from you to search. No luck, he gave you a sympathetic smile that shifted into a real smile when he saw your pout.
“Seems so. Dammit, the fire is going too.”
Flames licked the wood, enveloping it to create a barrier of heat. From where you were standing you could feel the heat radiating, or maybe that feeling was because Bucky was standing so close to you, his flesh arm brushing against yours.
“No biggie. I’ll go get some and you keep that fire going, mister.” You said, grabbing your bag and keys.
His metal hand grabbed your waist, pulling you close to press a chaste kiss to your lips. His forehead rested against yours for a second before he pulled away and kissed above your left eyebrow. Butterflies swam in your stomach at how absolutely gentle he was. The badass winter soldier was the softest teddy bear around you. It was almost hard to believe that he could kill a man with a knife in one hundred different ways.
“Be safe.” He mumbled against your skin.
You scoffed, pushing away, “Buck, I don’t need to be. Look how swole I got!” You flexed your arms and pointed at the small amount of muscle you gained from Bucky dragging you to the gym three times a week.
A ripple of laughter barked from him as he grabbed a large piece of wood and set it on the fire. His blue eyes shimmered from the flames.
“Okay, tough guy- seriously though. Be cautious. You never know what the world will throw your way.” He warned.
He was right. Being in S.H.I.E.L.D. proved that danger was around every corner. Nightmares of little kids were very much real and a lot of horror manifested in the world. You tried your best to fight evil with science but when it came to physically warding it off, you were sort of lost.
Bucky worried about your safety at all times. Being a scientist with the expertise of human anatomy meant that HYDRA would be interested. The current goal was to create super soldiers from scratch and he had a feeling that they knew about your set of skills. He would not let you get caught by them. His eyes conveyed how intense he was about you returning unharmed.
“Aye aye Sergeant Barnes. I’ll be back before you know it.”
Chocolate secured, you walked around the end of the store to purchase it. In the corner of your eye you saw someone behind you in the distance but when you turned no one was there. This occurred a few times before you got out of the store. Starting to grow paranoid you briskly walked to your car.
As you were about to open the door you were pushed harshly so that your face smacked off the car. Your arms were quickly restrained and a hand snuck around to clamp your mouth shut. Your heart beat out of your chest as you realized what was going on. You were caught by HYDRA and you were going to die or be used as bait to lure in Bucky.
“Don’t scream and I’ll take my hand away.”
Blood drained out of your face as you recognized the voice. Fucking Grand Ward found you.
You tried to scream but Ward managed to haul your body effortlessly onto the backseat of his car without anyone noticing. Your muffled cries for help angered him as he tied your hands and feet together with rope. He slammed the door shut and climbed into the driver seat. You regretted asking Bucky to make a fire now. You could’ve made out in the nice cabin instead but you buttered him up to make a fire. You decided that the chocolate wasn’t worth it and that s’mores weren’t that great.
Your eyes watched out the window as he drove, trying to memorize the area you could see from laying down so that if you possibly escaped you would have an idea where to go. Ward was sort of dumb for not blind folding you, you thought as he pulled into long lane that held a large house.
He got out of the car and man handled you inside. You grew nervous as you saw about twenty hydra agents spread through out the house. He kicked open the basement door and sat you down at a table. The stone walls covered with cobwebs made you shiver. Clearly this wasn’t as welcoming as the cute cabin you should’ve already been back to.
“You’re a dick.” You threw out.
He rolled his eyes, “You’re insufferable.”
You guffawed loudly as your hands fought to get out of the rope, “You’re a killer! How did you even find me?”
He grabbed a nearby chair and sat in it nonchalantly as if he hadn’t kidnapped a rival agent, “I didn’t plan to, I happened to be in the right place at the right time. Better take an opportunity when it presents itself.”
His stupid smug voice made your insides burn with hate. A knife wedged between his eyes danced around your mind. Oh boy did you wish that you had Daisy’s powers in that moment. You would quake him until his insides turned to jelly.
“No, I think you’re a stalker.”
He clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth, “I don’t care what you think, I care about what you know. Where is Daisy?”
Laughter bubbled in your throat, ripping out in a furious wave of sound. You carried on until tears were running down your face. Granted, your situation was not funny but you were nervous and him thinking Daisy wouldn’t kill him really humored you.
“Stop laughing and tell me.” He gritted out.
“Grant Ward, you’re a demon on this earth, but never before did I think you were this dumb! I mean come on man, as if Daisy wouldn’t end your life the second she saw you? Lincoln died to kill you and Hive, but you somehow lived and made your way back here- surviving like a parasite. She will never forgive you, especially not after that.”
He punched you as soon as you finished your words, landing a blow to mostly your nose and mouth. You blinked in surprise as he drew his fist back. Grant grimaced as he noticed your busted lip. Once again his anger got ahold of him. Daisy hating him exposed his true monster because he loved her. As fucked up as it was he was still in love with her even though she rather him be dead. And the truth of that hurt. Daisy would really hate him for harming you.
“I didn’t-“
“Fuck you.” You spat, glaring at him with pure resentment, “It is not my fault that you messed up your life so bad, not my fault you ruined your friendships. For god sake, you plunged Fitzsimmons into the depths of the ocean without batting an eye. Our forgiveness is not in your future.”
“I’m not asking for your forgiveness.”
Your tongue swiped against your bottom lip that had a small amount of blood on it. Metallic tasting liquid invaded your taste buds, making you wince.
“You’re asking for hers. Tough luck, killer, you won’t get it!”
He slammed his fist against the table causing your body to flinch at the bang. Your face pulsed in pain remember the punch delivered moments ago. You were trying to be strong but you were scared. Grant Ward was a murderer and he had you locked up in a basement in the middle of nowhere. You were extremely helpless and vulnerable in your chair due to being tied up. You wished more than anything for Bucky to kick that door down and save you.
Bucky waited thirty minutes before jumping in his vehicle and making a beeline for the store you two had visited earlier. Getting chocolate would not take that long and his gut knew something was wrong. He pulled in and saw your car in the lot. He lunged out of his and ran over to yours. His blue eyes became darker as he noticed two hand marks and a smudged face mark that wasn’t there before you left. Someone harmed you.
Bucky looked around the lot for any suspicious vehicles but nothing looked out of the ordinary. His heart was hammering furiously in his chest at the idea of someone daring to lay their filthy hands on you. Bucky punched the pole beside him, denting it considerably.
“Fuck!”
Grant Ward stared at you as you attempted for the tenth time to get the ropes off of you. You didn’t even have a plan for if you got them off, but that was the first step. He rolled his eyes at your actions.
“Will it take torture for you to speak up? Hmm? Maybe a knife in your thigh? Another punch? I am tired of playing nice here.”
You ignored his words, only trying to loosen the ties around you even more. Bucky would’ve already been out of this chair and had killed Ward if he had been where you were. Unfortunately, you were not a trained assassin and you were very worried how this day would end. Bucky had to have known you were taken and you knew he was looking for you. And when he found Ward, all hell would break loose.
“You’re not going to get those off. Stop fussing, you’re annoying me.”
“I don’t care what annoys you,” you seethed, “Let me go! I’m not telling you anything about Daisy so keeping me is useless. It’s signing your death warrant, really.”
He hummed in a condensing manner, “My death warrant? I’m alive for a reason, princess. I’m better at killing than my opponents.”
The condescending pet name irritated you to no end. Princess was a generalization of a snobby girl who got whatever she wanted. You were a educated woman who knew worlds more intellectual information than the man in front of you.
You dryly laughed, “Not more skilled than the Winter Soldier and when he gets here, you better saddle up because he will beat the ever loving shit out of you.”
Ward nodded in amusement, “S.H.I.E.L.D keeps a tight rope on him- I’m sure. Coulson doesn’t have the authority to send him out. Daisy is the rescue team and we both know that.”
You felt paranoid that he knew so much about your team, that he knew Daisy was the key factor in saving you guys and the world again and again. Had he been keeping tabs on her? It made your skin crawl to think that he watched her every move. What all did he know? Apparently not enough to know that you were the Winter Soldier’s darling. Grant Ward was doomed the second Bucky walked in the door, you decided.
Ward was one of the best agents after Natasha and he skillfully took down so many people. But Bucky was so far above him. Not only in combat skills but your boyfriend was a freaking super solider that had serum that granted him strength and reflexes no one could fathom.
“You idiot, I’m his girlfriend!”
Ward shifted in his seat at your reveal. He studied your face to see if you were bluffing or not. By the look on his face a few moments later he could tell that he realized it was true. He clenched his eyes shut in frustration.
“You were here with him, weren’t you?” He asked.
You grinned cheekily, “Bullseye!”
Bucky paced back and forth in front of your car before a black SUV pulled in front of him. Out jumped Daisy Johnson, fully suited up. She hugged him quickly before pulling away.
“She came here to get chocolate and she never came back! I didn’t know what else to do.” He rambled.
She calmly grabbed his arm for him to look at her, “We got intell on a house close to here that HYDRA agents are hiding at. Word has it that Grant Ward is there too.”
Bucky squinted his eyes, “Grant Ward? I thought he died?”
“Apparently not. That parasite just can’t stay dead. She’s there, I know it.”
Bucky grit his teeth. HYDRA would crumble to the ground if one hair on your head was damaged. He promised himself to kill each and every one of those bastards that dared to take his girl. Bucky knew of Grant Ward and the emotional toll that the man’s betrayal had on you.
His first clenched as the metal whirled in his arm. Anger engulfed him to the point that he punched the same pole again. The large pole crashed to the ground, catching attention of the fellow shoppers around them. People ignored it because they weren’t about to get in the way of an angry man strong enough to do something like that.
Daisy looked at the pole before looking back at Bucky, “I’m sure they can deal with that. We gotta go.”
Ward disappeared upstairs leaving you to patiently wait until Bucky arrived. A part of you was worried for him. There were twenty agents here plus a maniac killer who May even used to struggle to defeat. Sure, he was the Winter Soldier but that didn’t mean he wasn’t human. A shot to the wrong place and he could be dead within seconds.
You also had a feeling that they would try to summon the Soldat and then everyone here would be screwed.
A man slipped quietly through the door and your breath caught in your throat. He had a sinister smile as he crossed the room to duck down in front of you.
One time Bucky explained that HYDRA agents weren’t that well trained if they were basic agents. The organization spent most of its dedication to training about ten top skilled people to get the job done. The man in front of you probably wasn’t one of the top ten, but he still posed a threat.
“You’re prettier than we assumed. When Ward told us that the Winter Soldier would be here any second to rescue you, we assumed he was pussy wipped.” He grabbed a knife off the table and twirled it between his fingers.
“Charming” you sarcastically noted.
“But looking at you now, I get it.”
You shifted yourself to lean away from him, “Get what?”
His hand roughly grabbed your jaw and turned your head to look at him. His green eyes were not kind like Bucky’s blue eyes. Your boyfriends gorgeous blue eyes could stop a war before it even started. Those blue eyes were home.
“You’re ethereal, babe.”
A loud shot rang in your ears as blood sprayed your face. You let out a blood curdling scream as his body fell on you. Grant Ward stalked over as he put his gun back in his holster. He shoved the body off as if it was a dead pesky fly.
Your adrenaline was going through the roof as you realized that a man was shot and killed on top of you. His warm blood clung to the soft skin, tainting it in the most sinful way. Tears welled up as you looked at the murder in front of you.
How could someone be so utterly cruel? So vile that the devil himself would turn away at his acts. Bruised heart not caring about the lives of other human beings. His face showed no remorse. It never did unless Daisy was involved.
“What the hell.” You whispered, gazing at him.
“Today isn’t the day to test the winter soldiers rage when he finds out one of my agents sexually assaulted you. Because that’s what he was going to do.”
Vomit crawled up the back of your throat at the idea of the man touching you like that. You shoved it back down with a gulp. Bucky hurry up, you internally pleaded. Wrapped in his thick arms always made you feel safe and right now that’s all you wanted.
Lights in the room shook, an earthquake force ripping through the room. Ward’s eyes got wide as he realized your rescue team was here. Not only did Bucky find you, but so did Daisy.
He grabbed your body and pulled your back to his chest, barrel of his gun kissing your temple wickedly. Screams and cries sounded off like a war zone. And a war zone it was. Bucky would kill everyone here, even if Daisy didnt approve of it. He didn’t care to hold back his impending wrath.
Daisy quakes three agents back so that they slammed against the wall, knocked unconscious. She was really trying to deter Bucky from killing them all but he knew how protective he could get. And how revenge was wrapping itself around his very bones.
“I didn’t want to kill you but it looks like you’re my bargaining chip, y/n.”
You whimpered at the implication of him using your body to get Daisy and Bucky not to kill him. You heard heavy footsteps clambering down the stairs and you held your breath.
Mistaking the power of Daisy Johnson was the dumbest thing Ward could have done. She quaked the door until it flew against the wall, broken off of its hinges. Bucky raced into the room, large gun sweeping the room to look for you. You had to be here. He heard a whimper and his eyes set on the nightmare before him.
You, pressed up against Grant Ward with a fucking barrel to your head. Crippling fear took over for a second. You were so vulnerable unlike him and that shot would surely kill you. His darling’a life was threatened and that alert his senses into kill mode.
Daisy held her hand out for Bucky to stop as she slowly walked closer to you two.
“Let her go, you sick son a bitch. You wanted me and here I am.” Venom seeped out of her voice.
Ward glanced at the super soldier who would gut him as soon as he let you go. He regretted his decision to take you. He was going to die today. “I didn’t want it to go like this.” He pulled your closer, the metal of the gun digging painfully into your skin.
Your eyes connected with Bucky’s and you conveyed all of your love for him in one look. Relief washed through your veins like a river being undammed just by knowing he was in the same room as you. No one could protect you like he could, love you like he could. He was it for you and you wanted to be in his arms instead of where you were.
Bucky slowly grabbed his beloved knife, twirling it in between his metal fingers. Ward was too distracted by Daisy to notice his movements. The knife launched out of Bucky’s hands and right into the hand that Ward was holding the stupid fucking gun with.
Ward yelped and let go enough that you ran out of his arms and behind Daisy. Bucky made sure you were safe before charging. His body threw Ward’s to the ground, going in to land a punch. Ward dodged his attempt and rolled to the side, pulling the knife out of his hand.
Ward thrust the knife towards Bucky’s body but Bucky grabbed his wrist and twisted hard, breaking it. Ward grunted out in pain. Bucky grabbed the knife and stabbed his opponent in the side. Flashes of you with a gun to your head spurred him on to stab him again and again and again.
Ward was gasping for breath when Bucky heard a gun shot. You touched your shoulder, wincing in pain as a straggling agent shot again, this time the bullet embedding itself in your leg. You gasped as you hunched down to hold your leg in pain.
Daisy quaked the agent and he fell unconscious.
Bucky left his knife in Ward’s dead body as he crossed the ground and had you in his arms within seconds. His lips attached itself to your temple, holding you impossibly close to him. Ignoring the pain was easy when such a handsome man was grasping onto you like his life depended on it.
“You’re safe now. We gotta get you outta here doll.” He murmured against your skin as he hoisted you up in his arms.
“Simmons is waiting for us at the compound. She can take care of her.” Daisy spoke, bending down to grab the knife out of Ward’s body. She shook her head before leading the way out of the building.
Bodies littered the floor, deep red stains soaking into the carpet. Necks were broken, arms dislocated, faces bloody. Your hand ghosted you’re cheek, knowing that blood of a man laid on you. Saying you weren’t a bit traumatized would be a lie. Especially when you looked at the dead agents sprawled out in different areas of the house.
Bucky gripped you close to his body on the car ride back to the cabin. Daisy drove silently, well aware that you needed a moment. His nose nuzzled into your neck, scenting you like a damn wolf. You were irrecoverably his and he would never let anything bad happen to you again. He had to calm his mind down because all he could see was you with that gun to your head. A weapon that could’ve easily ended your life and his in return.
Fitzsimmons greeted you with warm smiles containing roof level high amounts of love. They were so relived to see you in one piece. The couple knew all too well of how brutal Grant Ward could be. Bucky stood close by as Simmons withdrew the bullets. You clenched your teeth in pain as they were pulled out. Bucky’s hand reached out and intertwined your fingers and she stitched you up. Daisy walked in to see how you were doing. The bus kids were once again untied, plus Bucky Barnes.
“So he’s dead this time? Like really dead? Dead dead..” Fitz asked.
“As hard as it is to believe, yes.” Daisy retorted, handing Fitz a pop as she sat down by him on the stool, “That sicko is gone for good. Bucky stabbed him too many times to count.”
Bucky blushed slightly, shifting his hand slightly against yours as all of your team mates looked at him like the hero he was.
“Thank heavens,” Simmons mumbled, working her nimble fingers diligently against your warm skin. You felt Bucky’s hand squeeze a bit for reassurance. You smiled gratefully up at him.
“Y/n isn’t this your first time getting shot?” Fitz asked, slurping his drink.
“Uh huh, doesn’t feel too great.” Your leg was throbbing by the time Simmons got to work on it. Your pants had to be cut off and you gave a very solemn look at the discarded material lying on the floor. You liked those pants...
“You’ll get used to it.”
You choked out a laugh at the harsh glare Bucky was giving Fitz. You rubbed your thumb against the flesh of his hand to calm him down. Bucky didn’t think you getting harmed was something to joke about. You were uneffected by the jesting, it was how your team worked to deal with all of the tragedy. Bucky was Bucky and he would always be over sensitive about how people spoke to you.
“Ahh, I don’t think so. I’ve been shot many times and it hurts all the same. Ian shooting me in the stomach was the worst.” Daisy added to the conversation.
You shivered as you recalled the time where your best friend was on the brink of death, her body laying limp as Simmons worked over her frail body. You blinked away the memory, focusing on Bucky’s metal hand moving to rest comfortably on your thigh as Simmons finished up your leg.
“That was a bloody horrible time.” Gemma snorted, “Not as horrible as when Fitz unleashed Aida on us all.”
Fitz opened his mouth to protest, “How many times do I have to say I’m sorry about that!”
“Probably for life, you’ll get used to it.” Bucky retorted, “As much as we would love to stay and chat, I think y/n should get some rest. Thank you for the help, Gemma.”
Simmons smiled, “Of course. Anything for her.”
He led you into your shared bathroom and cleaned the blood off of your face, taking the burden of the pain with him, helping you deal with it. You silently watched him as he wrung out the washcloth. You were so enamored that such a strong man was so soft when it came to you. God, you adored him.
Bucky helped you change into clothes that weren’t bloody. Unsurprisingly, he chose to put his red Henley on you. A shirt that you loved seeing on him as much as he loved you in it. The soft cotton swallowed you, encapsulating you in his cologne left over on it. You two crawled under the comforter, his arms holding you to his chest as he laid on his side with you facing him. You were just so pretty, he decided as he bent down to stuff his face in the crook of your neck.
“Comfy?” His deep voice rumbled against the skin of your throat as he peppered a few kisses there, centering himself.
“Around you? Always.” You whispered, his kisses growing wet as he slot his lips lovingly against your skin. You shifted, moving so that his thick thigh was trapped between yours. He hummed in appreciation as he pulled you closer, his hands roaming your body. His metal arm rested on your behind as he ground himself into you, moaning at the feeling. His flesh hand glided across your hip and moved down.
You hissed in pain when his hand pressed down near the bullet wound.
He quickly pulled away, “Shit! Sorry, sorry I wasn’t even thinking about your leg, doll.”
You huffed out a “it’s fine” before moving to just cuddle him, “I think we both got caught up in the moment.”
He gently ran his flesh hand through your hair, “I guess so. I’m just thankful that you’re safe in my arms. Seeing him- with that.... to your.. it broke my heart.”
You situated yourself so that your eyes were level with his, the beautiful blue was swarming with sadness. You smiled sympathetically.
“You saved me, Buck. You took away my biggest nightmare.” You whispered, “you should’ve seen the look on his face when I told him I was your girlfriend.”
The idea of Grant Ward knowing that death was on its way had Bucky feeling like a winner. Ward terrorized your thoughts and knowing he put an end to your fear made him feel high on life. Protecting you was in his nature, and getting rid of Ward was like winning the lottery. Your mind at ease made your boyfriend happy. The idea of you knowing that he will always be there for you made his heart soar. God he wanted you forever.
He grinned, “Bastard had it coming, had the right to be be fucking scared- daring to take away my girl from me.”
His lips pecked yours a few times before his cheek rested comfortably against yours. Your eyes fluttered shut, finally feeling peaceful enough to fall asleep. Peace was always easy to find around him.
Around your Bucky.
