Enoch O'Conner HCs:

-Grew up in a family of undertakers. His father was distant and always working while his mother was more caring and loving. His father would teach him the business while his mother schooled him. He was bullied by other kids for being creepy due to where he grew up, which led him to be angsty and jealous of other children who were well liked, like his more popular cousins. He discovered his peculiarity when he was around 10 after his mother passed away from sickness. His father had left her body on the morgue table with her chest ripped open, revealing her heart. He left her there to get more tools when Enoch wandered in, wanting to see his mother one last time. It was there when he was inspecting his mother's heart that he felt a weird sensation, wanting to touch it. He did, and felt a small shock jolt through his body. Confused and curious, he used his palms and wrapped his hand around the heart, then instinctively channeled the electricity from his body and into the heart. After the brief shock wore off, he realized his dead mother was now sat up, her chest still open with her heart beating again. He watched in horror as his mother locked her glazed blue eyes with his terrified blue eyes, and she gently reached out towards him. He never found out if she was going to hug him or grab him as his father happened to walk in to see the horrific sight. He panicked and rekilled his wife, then put two and two together and realized Enoch was somehow responsible. He accused his son of being a demonic changeling and chased him out of the house with a scalpel. Enoch would live on the streets for a while, starving and cold until he was found by an ymbryne.

-He lived in his first loop for some years but he never fit in. The other children were both scared and disgusted by his ability. He had only one friend who respected and cared for him, but even she was somewhat grossed out by what he did and could not bear to be around him while he used his ability. He soon became depressed and his ymbryne noticed this. She put in a request for him to find a new loop in hopes of improving his mood, but after meeting with several ymbrynes, Enoch's bad attitude put them all off on taking him in. It wasn't until he met Miss Peregrine that she decided to take him. Like with the other ymbrynes he gave her his worst, but she saw something in him the others hadn't and took him in. After spending time and bonding together, Enoch began to see her as a mother and respected her as much and even more as his first ymbryne.

-He was always very sickly and very skinny due to his depression. After living in Miss Peregrine's loop, she encouraged him to take more care of himself and after working on himself he did and finally began to eat properly. He was insecure about his weight gain at first, but began to love himself more after feeling more accepted by others. Horace loves his chubby boyfriend.

-Very bi. Used to crush hard on Francesca but after getting rejected for the 32nd time he gave up. He began to hang out with Horace a lot more (whom he considered to be his best friend around post AMOD) and realized he had a crush. He confided in Noor, also bi, and she explained to him that it was normal and he just happened to like both sexes. He pined after Horace for a while, afraid to tell him how he felt as he feared rejection, but after Horace came out as gay a while later, he confessed almost immediately and they have been dating ever since (post TDODA)

-Surprisingly he sings very well, though almost nobody knows that except for Horace, who he sings to sleep sometimes to help with nightmares. He's embarrassed and bashful of it so he refuses to sing literally anything, he won't even sing along to the Happy Birthday song when they throw a birthday party. Millard also knows because he's invisible and thinks it's really funny, and drops hints to him all the time that he knows without alerting anyone else. It drives Enoch insane but he can't snap at him without it seeming odd so he has to sit there and fume to himself at Millard's cheeky remarks.

-In the pre-Jacob days he had Victor as a best friend. They would do everything together, and despite their different personalities (Enoch being the angsty recluse loner and Victor being the bubbly outgoing beloved jock) they got along perfectly. Enoch would often drag Victor in on his Raid the Village schemes and antics, but would always have him to the dirty work, which Victor never minded. Enoch was always the first person Victor would go to when he began to have panic attacks at the prospect of eternal island days, and Enoch would always have to calm him down and reassure him. When Victor passed, Enoch felt incredibly guilty and it took a long time to get over his death.

-Enoch used to have a small crush on Emma (unfortunately canon) which began his rivalry with Abe. Even after Enoch lost feelings for her, he still hated Abe out of jealousy (everybody seemed to love him but were indifferent to Enoch) and tried to mess with him at every opportunity, which would comically backfire on him every time, only making Abe look cooler.

-Got his license as soon as he could. While he couldn't yet afford a car of his own, he would just steal Jacob's instead. Even after he got older (or appeared older anyway) he still continued to steal Jacob's car just for the fun of it.

-He loathed Jacob towards the beginning and always felt a hint of jealousy towards him for "stealing" his friends and looking like a cool hero in front of everybody. Him being with Emma only certified this more in his mind that he was just Abe Jr. and he couldn't stand him. It wasn't until he left Emma and got with Noor that he began to see him in a different light and started to finally like him (mostly because he is best friends with Noor and anyone who is cool enough to date Noor is fine by him). While he won't ever admit it, he feels grateful towards Jacob for saving him during TDODA and even felt a little guilty for how he had treated him in the past. While now he won't ever hesitate to mess with him, he feels a lot of brotherly affection towards him.

-He became best friends with Noor around TDODA and hangs out with her often whenever he isn't glued to Horace's side. He always liked her since she was the first person he met who wasn't a deadriser and found his peculiarity cool, and their natural instinct to enact chaos bonded them even more.

-Like the others, once he officially became an adult, he led a double life. In the normal world he began his own mortuary clinic named after the one he grew up in once he graduated from mortuary school. In the peculiar world, after the ymbryne council decided to expand to allow peculiars to become council members for more equality across peculairdom, Enoch immediately campaigned for a position, making his main appeal to advocate for deadrisers in getting them easily accessed supplies to practice their craft and their own loops to better practice. He actually won in a landslide and got a position, which Miss Peregrine was exceedingly proud of. Though she has to bicker with him often while in council, she is still proud of what he accomplished.

-The dark circles around his eyes are a mystery. Everyone always figured they were just eye bags from him being eternally tired from using his ability to often, but even after getting to a relationship with Horace who made sure he got a healthy amount of sleep every night, they still remained. Horace has tried everything, every health product and health tip imaginable, and yet they still remain. While they have no photos to prove it, everyone believes he was just born with them as there is no plausible explanation as to why they're still there. Enoch is confused and uncaring at the situation despite his boyfriend and future husband's increasingly exasperated attempts to get rid of them.

-As much as he and Clarie bicker, he always had a soft spot for her and loved her like a petulant little sister. When she grew up into a teen and entered her rebellious gothic punk phase, they grew even closer.

-Enoch and Horace dated for only three years before they both decided to propose. Horace took Enoch to the fanciest restaurant in peculiardom and planned to propose after a grand romantic dinner together. Right as they finished up and Horace was ready to propose, Enoch suggested they go outside for some air and ended up proposing to him. Enoch got worried when Horace simply stared blankly at him instead of reacting in anyway, until Horace got on one knee as well and pulled out another ring. They both said yes. Jacob was the best man and Noor was the maid of honor.

Millard Nullings HCs:

-Born in a wealthy family (around late 1920s Scotland) with a father who was an esteemed professor and surrounded by books. When he was young and his parents weren't around, he would cure his boredom by reading anything he could reach on the shelves.

-Millard started disappearing when he hit prepubescence, starting from his feet and slowly working up. Millard was shocked but intrigued by his condition, and knowing it wasn't normal, he distanced himself from his family and started to research in order to possibly find out why this was happening.

-He dug through nearly every book they had and found nothing. Feeling desperate, he combed though his father's study he was forbidden to enter, and ended up finding an old, dusty hidden book in his desk. It was called The Tales of the Peculiar.

-After he disappeared so much it was impossible to hide, he gave in and showed his parents what had happened. His mother fainted immediately, but his father knew his son was peculiar as his grandfather had had the same condition. His father simply told him to find an ymbryne, and then promptly kicked him out in fear of his son ruining his reputation.

-Millard lived on the streets for a while, having to steal and sneak around in order to live. He became a good thief after that, which culminated in the day he decided to pickpocket an English lady's pocket watch to hopefully attempt to sell it. The woman caught him despite being invisible, and dragged him to a private area with no one around. She explained that she was an ymbryne, and that he was peculiar. He'd lived with Miss Peregrine ever since.

-He needs glasses badly but he refuses to wear them because it will "give him away"

-Definitely took Lilly out on a date post TDoDA. They went to a cafe library, had some coffee and cuddled on a couch with a good book. Sure, it looked a little weird to anyone who saw a girl perched up awkwardly on a couch with two coffees and a book in braille spread out, but they ignored the stares and had a good time.

-Lilly and Millard go on a lot of double dates, mostly because they can't really date just themselves in public without Lilly getting odd looks. Their friends understand and let them tag along a lot, especially Noor and Jacob who they hang out with a lot.

-Millard writes Lilly love poems and letters in braille. He also guides her around when walking--even though she doesn't need the help she finds it cute how well-meaning he is and likes to hold his arm as they walk.

-She kissed him on their first date and he was so lovestruck that he told Miss Peregrine as soon as he got home how he planned to propose.

-When they eventually did get married they decided on a private ceremony as marrying an invisible man would not go over well with Lilly's family. All that Lilly's family knows about him is that he has a terrible allergy to the sun and he must always be dressed head to toe so he does not get injured, which is why he is always covered up at her family reunions.

-He became a cartographer and famous peculiar author in the peculiar world, and a beloved (though oddly dressed) history professor in the normal world.

-He and Lilly had one daughter. They named her Alma.

-He has very bad OCD and likes everything to be organized. Enoch messes with him by slightly moving one thing askew only to check in later and find it perfectly straightened, as if he never touched it.

-Millard has always been Horace's model, and has spent many Cairnholm days standing and posing boredly while Horace decides which tie went better with the suit.

-He considers Emma to be his best friend.

Alma LeFay Peregrine HCs:

-Alma and Isabelle have had a romantic relationship for a long time but kept it hidden due to ymbryne law (also old timey reasons). When they finally decided to tell their wards, all the children were supportive and happy to now have two moms, though some were confused as they thought they didn't need to tell them as it was a given and thought they had already admitted they were together.

-She has multiple journals she's kept throughout her life, all labeled with the year and timeframes on the front. There hasn't been a single day of her life that was undocumented, no matter how mundane (though she did have to fill in a couple days after due to her birdnapping and imprisonment during the first trilogy).

-She loves to sew and to make crocheted crafts. Her favorite craft to crochet are, unsurprisingly, birds. She's tried to crochet all her ymbryne friends in bird form and places them on her windowsill for display. When she misses one of her fellow ymbrynes, she subconsciously is drawn to their crocheted bird and puts it on her writing desk while she journals. Her peregrine and Isabelle's Cuckoo have always been together, beaks facing each other.

-While she was still in the ymbryne academy, she was almost the exact opposite then how she is now. While she was still intelligent and studious as she is now, she was also a big rebel and liked to sneak out and have fun with her equally rebellious peers. She got in trouble a lot and had to make up for her mischief with writings of how she would never do it again, etc. and while writing these she began to discover her love for writing. It was during these years she had her first kiss with Isabelle and they started dating.

-Despite everything, she still loves her brothers deep down. She could never forgive Caul for anything he's done, nor Myron, but she feels they were heavily misguided and regrets not being there for them more while she was studying. She misses them in their youth, before their atrocities, but sleeps well at night knowing their older and more destructive selves are gone.

-When she was selecting her wards, she picked who she saw herself in the most without even knowing it. She sees her rebellious, child self in Enoch; her determined, driven younger teenage attitude in Emma; her intelligent, studious older teenage attitude in Millard, etc. She loves them all as her own, and sees herself more as their mother than their headmistress.

-She taught Millard all he knows about chess, which is why he's an unstoppable force on the chess board.

-She does Claire and Olive's hair every morning as well as pick out their clothes. She often holds Claire like a toddler and carries her around while she does her house chores; Olive sometimes tags along by taking her shoes off and wrapping her arms gently around Alma's shoulders.

- She has a heart locket with a picture of herself and Abe inside. She couldn’t bring herself to replace his picture or put it away when she started to date Jacob. Only after she finally began to get over him (post TDoDA) she put it in a keepsake box in her closet and hasn’t thought of it since.

- Her breakup with Jacob made her reflect a lot on how obsessed she was with Abe which is how she began to finally get over him. She ended up discovering she was pan after falling in love with a preppy popular girl at Jacob’s school who she’s been dating ever since.

- She became a professional photographer in both the modern and peculiar world, making a living in both worlds. Her girlfriend helped her set up a social media account to get more traction; her first photos that went viral were of photoshoots of her girlfriend and she’s been living off commission since. In the peculiar world she helps document fellow peculiars.

- Emma was always in charge of Miss Peregrine’s photo album and was the one who took photos of all the children (Abe took the photo of herself for her).

- When she fled home she didn’t have any belongings, therefore nothing to remember her sister by. After all these years she’s forgotten her voice and her face, and she sometimes cries at night trying to piece her back together in her mind. She and Millard once tried to find records or any information of Julia but they never found anything, which plagues her mind.

- Noor and Emma’s girlfriend drastically helped Emma warm up to modern fashion. She finally developed her own fashion sense, mostly consisting of sundresses, floral crop tops and baggy jeans. She’s a fan of the preppy-hipster style of dress to her girlfriend’s more bra top and leggings style of preppy.

- As often as they fight, she sees Enoch as the younger brother she never had and loves him dearly. It never occurred to her that he felt the same until she realized how concerned he was over her (towards the end of TCoTB) and she started to be more patient with his attitude (though she never hesitates to call him out on bs).

- She loves birds and owned a pet canary once, but after she accidentally burned his wing with her pinky, she decided that all pets were off the table and set him free, though she still misses him dearly and loves all animals in general.

- While she disliked and felt very jealous towards Noor at first, after they began to hangout, she grew to saw Noor as a good friend. The two, along with Bronwyn, Fiona, (and later Emma’s girlfriend), all hang out together as often as they can, usually shopping or going on walks (or pranking the boys). They love having girl’s nights with Claire and Olive (Horace tags along occasionally) and sleepovers in each other’s rooms (though Miss Peregrine makes sure Emma and her girlfriend sleep separately much to Emma’s annoyance).

Jacob Portman HCs

- Definitely dabbled in romantic poetry at one point. He tried to write Noor a romantic poem about how beautiful she is and how much she means to him but he ended up rewriting it so many times he gave up (she’s too wonderful for words to fully encapsulate).

- He’s a lot more casual and curses more when speaking to Noor, Lilly, Ricky, and Enoch. He tries his best not to swear around the others to the point where they don’t believe Enoch when he tries to tattle on him.

- He thinks of Enoch as a little brother but would NEVER admit it. He taught him how to drive after TDoDA and despite the chaos, they bonded a lot over it and bicker less.

- He’s great at checkers but sucks ass at chess. I have no in-text proof it’s just a gut feeling. He has never won a game of chess against Millard.

- He always can tell when Horace is feeling anxious and tries his best to help him, usually by distracting him, asking him about the latest peculiar fashion trends or what he’s knitted recently.

- While he views all the peculiars as his family, like with Enoch, he views Bronwyn as his sister and feels pure adoration for her. Her gentleness and kindness inspires him to do the same and he feels protective over her (despite her needing no protection).

- He got an emotional support dog after TDoDa that Noor named. He brings it everywhere and can’t sleep without the dog by his side.

- Turning into a hollow didn’t leave him looking how he was before. The whites of his eyes turned black and leak black goo when he cries, and his skin became much paler with his veins more visible.

Reasons I think Enoch O’Connor and Noor Pradesh would be best friends

Noor is probably one of the only people who has ever thought Enoch’s peculiarity was fucking awesome when she met him and when she told him this he beamed at her and it was adorable who gave him the right to be cute like that (seriously look in AMOD it’s there and I love it)

Enoch is an established emo kid. Noor has emo vibes. She showed up with black nail polish and piercings and blue streaks in her hair and Enoch was like “oh my god that’s badass I wanna do that”

They can bully Jacob

Every fanfic I’ve seen where Enoch has to deal with “oh my god I’m gay what do I do about this” has him either go to Jacob or Noor about this and personally I think he would think Jacob would tell people about it and that is the Last Thing We Want
