We’re saddened with the news of the passing of Toby Keith on February 5th, 2024. It’s time to celebrate the life of an amazing person, who brought joy to millions of people across the world.
Toby Keith first took a real interest in music at his grandmother’s supper club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. While he spent a few years, as a young kid, in Arkansas he used to play with the musicians that came into the supper club and got his first guitar at the age of eight. Later on, he and his family moved back to Oklahoma where he played defensive end on his high school football team. Keith graduated high school and went to work in the oil fields where he quickly climbed the ladder. At the age of 20 he and his friends formed the Easy Money Band. They would play at local bars and roadhouses, while he continued to work in the oil fields. When the oil industry in Oklahoma declined in 1982, he was let go and decided to pursue his semi-pro football career with the Oklahoma City Drillers. While continuing to focus on music with Easy Money, they began to play honky-tonk in Oklahoma and Texas. As time went on, Toby went to Tennessee, where he would perform on the streets of Nashville. Eventually he would be signed by Mercury Records after producer Harold Shedd received a copy of Keith’s demo tape from a flight attendant.
Toby Keith shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993, with his debut single “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” which then led to his self-titled certified-platinum debut album. This album would propel his music career forward with three more top 5 hits on country charts. The success of this album would lead to Keith touring with Shania Twain and John Brannen.
The next year he would release another certified-platinum album called Boomtown. With this album came a number one single and two more songs that made it into the top 10.
In the following years he continued to make music and produce many hits. Toby kept performing up until December of 2023. He often played for the US military and even received the National Medal of Arts in 2021.
He accomplished a lot in his life and brought happiness to so many people. We’re grateful he continued to pursue his passion of music that has contributed so much to the country genre.  Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Toby Keith Covel, one of the most renowned country music singers of all-time. He will be missed.

The Chargers have a new head coach, moving forward. For the next five years, Jim Harbaugh will be joining his old team again. The once San Diego Chargers quarterback, is now going bring his talents to Los Angeles. After coaching for the University of Michigan and leading them to a national championship, he has his sights on getting his former football team to the Super Bowl. Harbaugh has had a long coaching career, and has helped teams such as the San Francisco 49ers make it to three consecutive NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl. Given that Jim chose to turn down an offer from Michigan, that would have made him the highest-paid college football coach, he decided to return to the NFL. With his experience and expertise, the Chargers couldn’t be happier to have them with them. All that said, Harbaugh is going to need to assemble his new coaching staff. Only time will tell who he decides to have with him, but we’re certainly expecting great things this coming season.

The 2024 season for the Dodgers will be interesting with their two new additions, Ohtani and Yamamoto. Both Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are officially with the Los Angeles Dodgers, after signing a 10-year 700-million dollar contract and 12-year 325-million dollar contract, respectively. Shohei has proved himself to be a phenomenal baseball player over the years, with both his pitching and hitting abilities. He’s been chosen to be to be in the All-Star games for three consecutive years, as well as having just received his 2023 American League MVP award, at the 99th Baseball Writers’ Dinner. After he heals, entirely, Shohei will be an incredible asset for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani, also, chose to defer a majority of his new salary, which may have helped his new teammate, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, to choose the Dodgers as well. Yoshinobu has been scouted by the Dodgers since he was a teenager and once he became a free agent, the LA Dodgers knew they had to pick him up. Both of these new Dodgers have an incredible baseball history that will, hopefully, get the entire team a World Series win. Give us a call, at 562-595-6510, if you are interested in securing your tickets for any of the upcoming Dodger games this season. We expect big things to happen!

The 2023 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, July 11th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
On June 22nd Shohei Ohtani made Major League Baseball history. He was chosen to not only be a pitcher but a position player this year, at the Mid-Summer Classic, in Seattle. Ohtani has been voted as the starting-designated hitter for the American League, and this will be his third consecutive year pitching, having started in 2021. This makes him the ninth pitcher in Angels’ history to be selected to at least three All-Star Games. He is now among the giants, such as, Nolan Ryan, Chuck Finley, Troy Percival, and Mark Langston. Ohtani will be the first Angels pitcher to make the All-Star team for three consecutive seasons since Weaver, from 2010 to 2012.
Shohei has made tremendous strides this season, in regards to his stats. With 16 pitching-starts, 127 strikeouts (ranking 3rd), leads in opponent batting average, is sixth in walks-and-hits-per-inning-pitched, not to mention he leads the American League in strikeouts per nine innings.
Congratulations to Shohei Ohtani for being selected as the AL All-Star Team Pitcher.  Give us a call, at 562-595-6510, if you are interested in securing your tickets for any of the All-Star Events, including the Big Game itself.

MLB Strikes Again
We haven’t had Major League Baseball players go on strike for a salary increase since the midseason of 1994. That salary cap dispute, actually, ended up running into the next year, 1995. Fast forward, to 2022, and tensions have arisen, once again. There has been a desire to raise the minimum salary of players, while keeping the competitive-balance tax, which would in-turn create a pool to aid in paying young players. With more than just issues with owner-imposed lockout concern, which was unanimously voted on by all 30 owners, this seems it will affect this year’s baseball season. This will not only affect fans but players as well. The Major League Baseball Players Association has barred players from participating in club activities, stopped club officials from engaging with them, and prevented teams from transacting trades or free-agent signings at the MLB level. After an extension of Monday’s informal deadline, Major League Baseball and the MLB association were unable to finalize a new collective bargaining agreement on Tuesday. By 5 pm, the deadline was reached without a favorable outcome for either side of this negotiation. On Thursday, there was a union meet in New York, where there was an hour and a half allocated, to plot the next steps of these negotiations. After this past “best and final offer” was proposed, on Tuesday, and with the discussions that took place on Thursday, we have yet to see what exactly the future compromise will entail. So far, MLB has spent about 20 hours, almost an entire day, on coming to an adequate compromise that will bring about a resolution that can get us all back to enjoying the games. What we do know is, spring training is out completely and the start of the 2022 season will be set back at least a couple weeks and will start no sooner than the second week of April. Stay tuned to see when the new home openers will take place. Email us at [email protected] to sign up to receive event information and special offers.

A Victory for Los Angeles * Rams Win Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium The Super Bowl was back in Los Angeles, for the first time in almost thirty years, and the Rams pulled through to make an awesome comeback! This was the first time in twenty-two years that the Rams regained the title, after being in St. Louis for 21 seasons. With the help of their coach, Sean McVay, the youngest head coach in the league’s modern history to win a Super Bowl, they were able to come out on top. Our year has started off right with our LA team making a strong finish and one that will be talked about for years to come. The Rams had lost their lead at the start of the second half and had lost wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. to a knee injury. Despite the circumstances, Matthew Stafford, the second starting quarterback in NFL history to have his alma mater win a national championship the same year he won a Super Bowl, and Cooper Kupp, the MVP who had eight receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns, stepped up and pulled off quite a few beautiful plays. After all of this Aaron Donald pushed them further towards their goal of being Super Bowl Champions, while Stafford found Kupp for their game-winning touchdown, with a final score of 23-20. On Monday, officials announced the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI victory celebration parade will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at 11 am. The parade is set to start at the Shrine Auditorium, at the intersection of Royal Street and West Jefferson Boulevard. It will proceed on Figueroa Street before turning onto Exposition Park Drive and finish at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, about 11:45, where the Rams played from 2016 – 2019. Afterwards, a rally will be held at the Coliseum’s Olympic Plaza and Peristyle Arch from noon to 1 pm. The event will feature appearances from Rams players and coaches, floats and specialty vehicles, on-stage entertainment and much more! Don’t miss this free event, open to the public! However, entry into parade and rally areas will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Make sure to be there early! Congratulations to the LA Rams and the City of Los Angeles on their Championship Win! Give us a call at 562-595-6510 to purchase Tickets for next season including Season Seat Licenses.

News about, Hall of Famer, Jerry West’s lifetime-season-tickets being revoked is spreading fast. Jerry West was a part of the Los Angeles Lakers for 14-years and was part of, in quite a few people’s opinion, the best teams ever assembled to date. From 1971 to 1972 the team was unstoppable, having scored an average of over 12 points more per game than any other team during that season. He helped in making taking them to the All-NBA First Team 10 times. Moreover, West played a critical role with his executive work that account for the Showtime Lakers of the 80’s and the Kobe-Shaq Lakers of the early 2000’s. Jerry West was undoubtedly an asset to the team, on and off the court, and pushed the team to have one of their most famous seasons to date. West was later gifted and promised lifetime season tickets, by Jerry Buss, to see the team he was a part of compete for as long as he was willing to support them. However, as of recently, the Lakers have decided to revoke those lifetime season passes. They did not notify him prior to taking this action, and he only found out when his wife received a text message from the management. Unfortunately, it seems the Laker’s appreciation for one of their old MVP’s has run out due to him supporting another Los Angeles team. We feel the actions taken upon our old Hall of Famer, Jerry West, were more than unjust. We’re hopeful the management of the Lakers chooses to admit their decision wasn’t the best course of action for how they were feeling at the time. Give us a call at 562-595-6510 if you want to check out a Laker Game.

Los Angeles Rams Advancing Through the 2022 Playoffs On a Monday night in Los Angeles, the Rams looked primed for a deep playoff run in the 2022 NFL wild-card round. After an inconsistent finish to the regular season, the Rams' constellation of big stars came together brilliantly on the postseason stage. Including Monday’s contest, Cardinals lost five of their last six games in 2021 for a quick postseason exit after starting the season 10-2. Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford earned his first career playoff win, throwing for two scores and running for another in a dominant Los Angeles Rams victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Stafford leads Rams to 34-11 victory, advancing to the Divisional round for the second year in a row and the third time in the last four seasons. "He's our leader out there, and we wouldn't be here without him," Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters. On Monday night, the Rams played with an undeniable sense of urgency and the belief that everything they covet is still well within their reach. That's a critical place to be when your next opponent is Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions. With the win, the Rams (13-5) now have a date on Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14-4) at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL at 3 p.m. ET. The winner advances to the NFC Championship game. "It's a huge challenge," Stafford said. "[We are] going to their place. It's a tough place to play. They've been really good this year. Fantastic quarterback, good defense and a really good football team. It'll be a big challenge for us." Los Angeles defeated Tampa Bay 34-24 in Week Three of the regular season, but that contest was in Southern California. Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will get a chance to avenge this loss; the big difference in this game is that it will be played in Tampa, where the Bucs are 8-1 this year. The Rams beat Tampa Bay 9-0 in the 1979 NFC title game and 11-6 in 1999 on their way to the Super Bowl XXXIV title. Championship Sunday is going to be January 30 and Super Bowl LVI will be February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Today we celebrate the life of a man who stood for fairness and equality. “The Reverend” Michael King Jr. was one of the most influential advocates of bringing a sense of reason and voice to his fellow Americans. He was often, if not always, addressed as Martin Luther King Jr. due to his father’s choice of honoring the German reformer, Martin Luther. Following in his father’s footsteps, Martin Luther King Jr. chose to become a man of faith and help those who were in need. The passion he had for the work that he did led him to become one of the most well renowned nonviolent activists in history. Inspired by his Christian faith and Mahatma Gandhi’s activism, Martin Luther King Jr. led others to be heard. He spent years of his life standing up for people’s rights and eventually delivered one of the most well-known speeches, “I Have a Dream”. On October 14, 1964, Martin Luther King Jr. received the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting inequality through nonviolent resistance. In his later years, he kept pushing for social equality and even the Vietnam War. Even up until he passed, he was organizing campaigns and conveying to the public what should be considered fair treatment of citizens and wealth distribution. This great man in history will always be remembered and we will continue to remember what he did, stood for, and gave for those that came after him.
Today there should be celebrations to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Los Angeles at the Laker game and the Rams NFC Wild Card game as well as other events all across the country!

Our hearts go out to one of the most beloved, iconic, and known Ranchera singers of all time. Vicente Fernández was one of the most well recognized and accomplished artists of his time. Born in Huentitán El Alto, Jalisco, he grew up on movies and music. From a deep-seated love of the arts and a passion to become a star, Vicente ended up realizing his dream in his early 30’s where he started acting and singing. With the release of his album, El Rey, El Hijo del Pueblo, and Para Recordar he became a reference point in the music industry. In the early 80’s Vicente’s musical style changed from Bolero Ranchero to a Ranchera style. He gained significant traction which would ultimately lead him to reaching fans abroad and tour outside of the US and Mexico. By the early 90’s Fernández had skyrocketed to fame within the industry and was dubbed the, “Mexican Sinatra”. Throughout the 90’s he then released another handful of albums that became absolute classics and in the 2000’s would tour with his son, Alejandro. The lengths that Vicente went to in order to just be able to have the chance to do this with his son are amazing. He truly saved his son and that led to both of them gaining certified platinum in the US. Later, in 2008, Vicente won another Latin Grammy and soon after would receive certified double platinum for his album, Prime Fila. Even after he announced his retirement from the arts, he still continued creating and releasing music. Over his 50-year career Vicente Fernández recorded more than 80 albums and over 300 songs. He was a legend among artists and will be missed dearly by all.

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California will officially open up it's economy starting June 15th, as the state's COVID-19 cases continue to decline. The Los Angeles Times reported that 70% of Californian adults are at least partially vaccinated. This means Southern California's sports teams such as the Dodgers and Angels will be back to allowing full capacity at their respective stadiums. Great news for fans who are eager to see their favorite team in person. Coast Tickets has a great variety of MLB tickets as well as other sports and live entertainment events. The 2-time World Series champion, Albert Pujols shocked not only Southern California, but the entire baseball world when he cleared waivers with the Angels and joined the Boys in Blue across town. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer was on the last year of a 10-year contract worth $254 million when he and the Angels parted ways. There's a lot of speculation circulating as to why exactly the Angels let go of Pujols, but it wasn't too long before he found a new home only 43 miles from Angel Stadium. Rumors spread that Pujols wanted a bigger role with the team despite his declining batting numbers but he quickly denied that narrative. "But at the end of the day, no hard feelings at all. I’m here with this organization and I’m excited about this opportunity. I’m not the only player that’s probably going to go through this.” Pujols made his Dodger debut in a Monday night win over the Diamondbacks and finished 1 for 4, punching in an RBI. The Angels are paying him approx. $29 million for the remainder of the season while the Dodgers are paying approx. $400,000.
