hiccup to fishlegs: Man I cannot figure her out at all. I hate that I even like her. She’s probably killed people before. I’m serious no other ROTC recruit has ever scored as highly before on any of the exams let alone on ALL OF THEM. I ATTENDED A DEMONSTRATION LAST MONTH ADVOCATING FOR THE DEATH OF THE ROTC PROGRAM and I STILL dream about her stupid eyes every night

fundamentally Hiccup and Astrid as a couple functions entirely well because Astrid is this mega popular blonde chick who takes one look at the weird nerd with the soul patch and (rightfully so) says oh wow uh gimme like a minute to think about that. But then it turns out she’s a bloodthirsty killing machine and Hiccup, a pacifist, has to be like huh I guess I gotta get over that. So Astrid’s like yea it was tough but I decided to forgive the poor choice in beard to date the guy and hiccup is like yeah I guess the fact that she was the best recruit in her ROTC unit isn’t a dealbreaker even though I am on all accounts fundamentally opposed to the military and to war actually
