And it's so clear he would NEVER forgive himself for not looking deeper into timelines to find the only one outcome that won't demand Tony's death in exchange for victory.

He would still be looking if Tony hadn’t come for him after Mantis’ question):

He just wants to hold Tony in his arms and be held in return. Is the life of the man he loves really to much to ask for after every shitty thing the universe has put him through so far?

Apparently it is. And it’s only getting worse in the Multiverse of Madness. Great title, very afraid of what it’ll mean for the poor man.
