The First Night On Delos
Night crept over Delos, and the goddesses left, assured Hera would leave well enough alone now that the twins were born. With night came the beat of wings, and then Leto was standing next to the palm she’d clutched to for so long during labour and then lain under in its sweet shadow today, after the birth was finally over with, and suppressing a smile. Her children, having squirmed most demandingly out of her arms at the stranger’s approach, were as much clustered against her as they were shielding her, standing more in front than behind, or even to the sides.
Tiny, radiant faces were raised to glower suspiciously at the king of the gods with huge, shining eyes, the light of them overflowing with their newborn divinity too raw, their control too unrefined.
“My darlings, your father helped me find Delos,” Leto said, and Artemis, eyes still narrowed, toddled forward - walking she might be capable of, but a seven day old child’s body was still a seven day old child’s body, even when it was the body of a seven day old goddess. Zeus went to a knee, holding a hand out, and Artemis, as soon as she reached it, slapped it. And then latched onto it, tiny, chubby fingers clutching onto only one of Zeus’. Leto opened her mouth, then closed it, words unsaid, for if Zeus would not tolerate such a thing - but his face, though unmoved into stiff stillness, spoke of no temper, and he took the mercurial treatment with patience.
“Will you let her continue to treat us this way?” Artemis demanded, high, baby voice in such contrast to her precise, accusing, pronunciation.
“No,” he said, and he had the grace to carry the weight of apology in that single word, though it was doubtful her children heard it, “I will hide you if I must.”
Artemis huffed, but by now Apollo had decided he would approach as well, and he ended up leaning against Zeus’ knee, staring up at his father with strange solemnity.
“And what is your judgement, then?” Zeus finally asked when Apollo seemed content to say nothing, his eyes huge and perfect little bow-mouth pushed into pouting contemplation.
“You still care for her,” he proclaimed as if it was a secret, as if it was a prophecy, and reached up. Flailed his tiny hand in demand when he could not reach and Zeus was too slow, for he was staring down at his newborn son, his pale eyes wide. They softened and he bowed further, before Apollo could do more than contemplate climbing his father like a tree to reach what he was wanting of.
“Of course.” It was as much a proclamation as Apollo’s couple words have been, loud in the darkness, and Leto flushed, charmed despite herself. Charmed in spite of the fact that he had not done much of anything directly for her until the very end, so as to not anger Hera while trying to woo - or rather, trying to get her to agree to let him woo her.
Tiny, chubby hand landed on Zeus’ beard and tangled there, Apollo letting out a tiny noise of delight. Then he tugged, and though Zeus grimaced, he still laughed and soon had both twins in his arms.

Apollo: Sorry for having great tits and the correct opinion on everything. As if it’s my fault.

Percy proposes spontaneously one night and Annabeth says no and he's like "...why" and she squints at him annoyed
"because I have my own proposal plans and an actual ring. So shush up and sit on your Yes for another couple months"
Percy is extremely annoying over the next couple months. He crafts makeshift rings out of whatever is lying around. Paper leftover from straws, bottle cap rings, the dying flowers from the vase on the windowsill. He will randomly propose to her with them, never in public, he wouldn't do that, but in front of their friends, before bed, when she's in the shower, as she's working are all viable options and she flatly responds "no" every time
Her proposal is pretty special and definitely worth the rejection and the wait. His heart thrums and he blurts yes before she even gets to her knee on the cool sand. She rolls her eyes and asks properly anyway, only to be tackled with a stream of yes's pressed against her mouth. It takes them a couple seconds after to find the ring where Percy knocked it into the sand. But it's a great proposal and a beautiful handcrafted ring.
It becomes even better when she pulls out a glass jar filled with all of Percy's "rings" and smiles back at him.
"You get a yes this time too," she says, pulling out one of the rings and letting Percy fit it around her finger. It's a shitty seashell ring he made at Estelle's afterschool program. She didn't want to leave until she was finished with her picture, so Percy sat down on the tiny chairs and tried to string wire through pre-drilled holes and beads. He made her a bracelet, made Annabeth a ring.
It sits thick and awkward on her hand, goofy compared to the smooth celestial bronze on Percy's finger shining in the quiet moonlight. But she's happy, and so is he.

Artemis: All I'm asking for is a normal sibling.
Thalia: Define 'normal.'
Apollo, dumping eight packets of stimulant powder into his scalding hot tea, shotgunning it, and passing out
Meg, cackling while killing a monster in a simulation
Jason, writing Warrior Cats roleplay fanfiction
Artemis: Not ours, obviously
Thalia: That's fair

Not sure if this would be amusing or horrifying. But I’m imagining a Trials of Apollo AU where Apollo is sent down to Earth in the same physical form that he was in when he fought Python the first time. Which in my mind, for whatever the reason, makes him appear about 7-8 years old.
Most things end up happening the same but no one takes Apollo seriously because he looks like a second-grader. (However, Apollo doesn’t get beat up by Cade and Mikey, and Diana spends a few minutes cuddling Apollo because that’s HER baby brother and she misses him.) Plus, Cabin Seven has more than one moment where they are holding back hysterics and the urge to wrap their Father up in bubble wrap because Apollo is a tiny fragile mortal who supremely overestimates what he’s capable of doing in child-form (and don’t get him started on talking about their mortal parents, this situation is already too weird). Chiron is also despairing because he already dealt with young Apollo being weirdly paternal once before, and now he has to deal with it again (Dionysus is outwardly laughing but inwardly panicking because he’s seen far too many children die and he knows what Zeus is like when it comes to letting other gods try to help someone he’s decided to punish)
Meg is suffering from cognitive disonnance because she was half-joking when she claimed Apollo’s service and is now stuck with a child-like ex-god who has a bunch of children of his own.
Bonus: Zeus is questioning his life-choices because child!Apollo keeps getting himself almost adopted by random strangers for some reason (and a part of him is furious and intending to strike them all down because Apollo is HIS son, not THEIRS) and this was not the punishment the king of the gods intended for him (and all the other gods are quietly side-eyeing him nervously). Leto is furious because that’s her baby and she wants him safe and not to go fighting that evil snake again (at least he isn’t a four-day old baby this time) but Zeus refuses to listen to her.

I've been OBSESSING with team ro this past week because of the potential it has of turning Kakashi's life into more of the tragedy it already is.
Imagine, team Ro becoming Kakashi's found family. He doesn't want it to, but after Tenzo joins he just can't help himself and starts to care deeply. And his team cares back, they adore their captain, and start fights with whoever badmouts him. Which happens often because Kakashi has a reputation of being insufferable, cold, of killing his teammates.
One time someone says that Kakashi ripped Obito's eye off and killed the boy himself and Shisui breaks their clavicle.
Imagine them sneaking into Kakashi's apartment because they can't handle a particular nightmare and feel eyes on their back no matter where they go. And they know Kakashi's safe, they know he'd die in a heartbeat for any of them, that he'll always go back for them, that they aren't expendable to him.
And Kakashi is 17 to 20 during this time, he's younger than a few members of his team and barely older than others. And he loves them, but he's crumbling under the responsibility that comes along being loved and trusted, of being the only one willing to put himself between his team and certain death. And yet, he feels he is doing good, he is keeping them safe and whole and—
And Shisui kills himself, and Kakashi doesn't understand why, what did he miss? This is the second time he misses the signs, and this time it was his responsibility. He is a failure as son, a student, a teammate and as a captain.
Itachi is avoiding him, he probably blames him too.
Yugao and Tenzou still look at him like he hung the Moon and stars and that's somehow worse.
And one day Itachi snaps and murders his entire clan, and Kakashi looks back to every interaction he had with the boy, and wonders why, why, why. What didn't he see?
He trained Itachi, the boy was already a sharp weapon when he joined his team but Kakashi sharpened it even further, he taught him how to fight multiple opponents compensating for his poor stamina. He taught him every fire nature jursu he knew. He taught him how to use a tanto the same way Sakumo had taught him.
Kakashi has experienced lost, and loathing (from himself and others), and regret, and helplessness, and grief and guilt, but nothing prepared him for the feeling of betrayal.
And now Sasuke Uchiha is an orphan, and it's all Kakashi's fault.
And suddenly he is 14 again and trying to lose his life by the enemy's blade..
And once he is out of ANBU and in the Jounin corps again as a teacher candidate, the old members of his squad start dying one after the other until there's only a handful left, too used to someone caring for them and watching their back, used to the certainty that someone will always come for them.
And it's all Kakashi's fault. He isn't there anymore.
