Day One of Weather Not Being -2F outside and Amaretto goes and immediately lays an egg. She must’ve been waiting for the polar vortex to end. 😅

Luckily, one of my favorite healthy snacks can also double as an occasional treat for birds (unsalted pepitas/pumpkin seeds) She liked them and demanded more e__e

A friend of mine was looking to rehome his kingsnake and cockatiel, and we decided they would fit into our home perfectly. So far they are both settling in well!

Today Amelio had found some stray string from a feed bag to get tangled up in (luckily it was a loose soft cotton string, no damage done) so he got brought inside to unravel it and trim his toenails while we were at it. Had to snap some pictures because he’s just such an eye catching bird. I love him. ❤️

We did a bit of a rabbit-switcheroo!
Previously I had bought a very cute, young, and wooly male rabbit as a “house rabbit” to let out to roam the house, and have as a general snuggle-buddy. Unfortunately, as he got older, he seems to have become the most territorial and aggressive male rabbit we have. He growls, lunges, bites, and pees A LOT. Somehow he manages to shoot pee out of the side of his cage. Giving him food is a battle that requires a food bowl as a shield from teeth. Overall, he just seems to have a lot of fear, or general hatred of people and seems pretty uncomfortable out of his cage.
When I came back from NAFA, the first thing Boyfriend said was, “Literally every rabbit in the barn would make a better indoor rabbit than this devil-fluff.” 😅
On the other hand, we have a super sweet doe that I had bought for just some practical breeding to our meat rabbit buck. She looked like she would be somewhat large, and she was being sold for $5, so I brought her home. She has proven to be the most friendly, curious, and people-loving rabbit I’ve ever seen, and looks to constantly want out to explore. I ocassionally let her roam the barn, and she has no fear of people whatsoever.
With these two different personalities in mind, we decided to move Mr. Angry-BunBun out to the barn where he can have his own uninterrupted peace and quiet in his own territory and only have to put up with his weekly brushing and daily feeding, and move big brown lady bunbun into the house as the house pet where she gets the interaction and exploration that she enjoys.
So far, both seem to be much happier this way, and hopefully this suits their individual personalities more. 😊

this one is going out to all the fandoms who are on this site.
Verizon bought Tumblr, and is censoring Net Neutrality posts.
But this post is not on the net neutrality tag
Your site, your blogs, are under the dominion of the enemy.
don’t let them take what is rightfully ours!
At this point, Ajit Pai, the FCC, and service providers such as Comcast and Verizon are openly, brazenly ignoring the will of the American people, and are in the process of making laws which will damage the quality of life, and in many cases the livelihoods, of people and businesses across the nation.
Though Ajit Pai was appointed by the President of the United States by legitimate means, he has shown that he is in spirit an enemy of the people he is supposed to represent, and a traitor to the United States government, as are those in Congress who side with him. The government must serve the people because the people are the basis of the government’s authority, and those members of it who refuse to do so are by definition traitors, enemies. What has been given can, and indeed must, be taken away.
There will be a reckoning.
And the service providers, they will not be safe.

We’ve moved up to being manned unhooded, in full light, and bending to eat off the glove now. We then visited my family, and the bird quickly adjusted to strangers and dogs walking by. Progress. ^__^ Next will be working on hopping to the glove~

My single shoulder of kangaroo leather came in, so I tried my hand at making anklets. It took me two attempts to make sure they fit well, but they seem to be good now, and I tooled a little border and stamped a design for fun.
