CLINT/ Get jealous and flirt with Tony to make Clint jealous
Jealousy flares up.  You don’t like that you’re feeling like the unwanted piece of filling in a sandwich and decide to turn your attention to Tony.  If Clint’s going to be flirting with you he should only be flirting with you, not Tony as well.
You move up close to Tony, putting your hand on his chest.  Now when he speaks, you hang off every word.  While at the same time ignoring or rolling your eyes anytime Clint gets flirtatious.
It doesn’t work.  Clint seems to get bored and leaves.  Tony turns his full attention on you.  “How about you and I get out of here?”
Tumblr media
You wake up the next morning in a large empty bed that isn’t yours, to the sound of a voice talking about the weather.  You sit up and look around for Tony, but there’s no sight of him.
“Tony?” you call, getting out of bed and looking for your clothes.  When you can't find them, you grab a robe from the back of the door and go to look for him.
“Tony!” you call again when you make your way down the staircase.
Instead of Tony Stark, Hill comes out of the kitchen, holding a bag of dry cleaning over her arm.  She clicks her tongue at you as she approaches.  “Can't I take you anywhere?”
“Where's Tony?” you ask, completely confused by what's going on.
“His lab, I imagine.  FRIDAY told me he'd told his assistant he needed a turndown service.  That means he had a one-night stand who slept over and now he needs them escorted out of the building.  I asked her why she was telling me, and she said you were the one-night stand.”
“Oh god,” you groan.  “He wasn't even going to say goodbye?”
“He never does,” she says and holds up the clothing bag.  “He did have your dress dry cleaned.  That's nice, isn't it?”
You groan again and take the bag.  “Go on,” she says. “Put your clothes on.  I'll take you out to breakfast, and we can compare notes.  I've slept with him too, you know?”
You nod and go to get dressed.  Jealousy ended the story before you barely even got started.

CLINT - TONY/ Play pool with Tony Stark
“Let's go play pool with Tony,” you say.  “I bet you could beat him.”
“I could definitely beat him,” he says. “But I’ll show you some trick shots while I do.”
You laugh and he leads you back down off the perch and the two of you return to the party together.
“Hey, Mister genius billionaire man,” Clint says as he sidles up the pool table.  “Want to play against us?”
Tony looks up from the shot he’s taking.  “I think what you’re trying to say is, do you want me to sit back with your friend here and watch you show off?”
Clint laughs.  “I do mean that.”
“Alright go on then,” he says.  As Clint starts to build the pool balls up into a pyramid, Tony offers you his hand. “You’re the one from the mayor’s office, right?”
“That’s right,” you say, shaking his hand and giving him your name.
“What are you hanging out with this guy for?” he asks.
“Watch it, Tony,” Clint says, hitting the white ball with his cue. It comes to a stop right up against the pyramid without knocking it over.  “I’m a catch.”
“Oh, for sure,” he says.  “You’ll definitely catch something with him.”
You stifle a laugh, and Clint bends over the table.  “Neither of you check out my ass.”
The flirting and barely concealed innuendo between them is so thick that you glance between them, trying to figure out what’s going on.  There’s something between them, but is it attraction, or are they both just flirts?
Clint hits the white ball again.  It cracks into the black ball in front of it, and the pyramid topples.  Every ball goes into a hole except the white, which looks as if it didn’t move at all.
“Holy shit,” you gasp.
Clint grins at you.  “I’m good at getting my targe.  Tony knows.”
Tony shakes his head.  “You’re incorrigible.  You know that?”
“Yeah?” Clint teases.  “You can talk.”
There’s definitely something up.  The question is, what do you want to do about it?
Get jealous and flirt with Tony to make Clint jealous
Start flirting with both of them.  Two Avengers are better than one.
Try and get to the bottom of what’s going on.  Maybe they aren’t aware of how they feel about each other and need a nudge.
Relax and just see what happens.  If Clint was going to be with Tony so be it, but he’s been flirting with you, so he most likely is interested in you.

You pull back and look back out at the view.  “Thank you for bringing me up here,” you say.
“It was my pleasure,” he says. “You want to get back to the party? I could introduce you to people if you want?”
You nod, running your hand up and down his chest.  “Yeah, let’s take a look to see what trouble we can get up to?” you suggest.
“They are all down there, what do you like the look of?” Clint asks.
You peer over the side and see what everyone is up to.

[START] [ABOUT AND WARNINGS] [FAQ]
Tumblr media
Clint/ See what cool thing Clint has to show you
“Yeah,” you say.  “Let’s see your cool thing, Clint.”
Clint smirks at you like you just said something incredibly dirty, and Natasha pinches him.  “Cut that out.  What you’re thinking of isn’t even that cool.”
Clint starts laughing and offers you his hand.  You look at it for a second and then up at him.  He’s smiling at you with such earnestness, and there’s a twinkle in his blue eyes.  You can’t help but trust him, and take his hand.
He leads you up the stairs at the back of the room, there are glass panels on either side of them and you can see down into the workshop and hanger below.  There are rows and rows of Iron Legion hanging from the walls, and the Quinjet is just below you.  When you reach the walkway above he turns left and takes you behind a wall, where he pulls down a ladder.
“Up here,” he says.
“Clint, I’m in a dress,” you argue.
“I’ll be fine.  Promise,” he says.
You sigh and start climbing the ladder up.  Clint follows you, and if you weren’t so worried about breaking a heel on the rungs, the thought that he’s checking out your ass right now might have crossed your mind.
The ladder takes you up to a narrow runway that sits three stories above the party below.  It's enough to give you vertigo as you get to your feet.
“Go down the end,” Clint says, getting up behind you.
“Oh god, Clint.  I'm gonna trip and fall and plummet to my death,” you say, your heart hammering in your chest.
“Do you regularly just trip over?” he asked. “You’ve been walking around this party, fine until now,” he says, coming up close and putting one hand on your hip and taking both your hands in his other.  His hands are calloused, and his knuckles grazed.  They’re the hands of an archer and a man who builds things.   “Come on, I won’t let you fall.”
When you reach the end of the platform, you audibly gasp.  The view is stunning.  There’s something about the angle that makes it look like the people below you are standing on a runway above the world.  You can see all the way out to Battery Park and beyond.  The Statue of Liberty is even visible from where you stand, though only because they light it up at night.  You can see the streets below too, cars driving up and down and people surging across the streets of Midtown to get to the Grand Central Terminal.  It’s beautiful, and you’re uniquely lucky to be experiencing it like this.
“God, it’s beautiful,” you say.  “What is this?”
“I call it the perch.  I think it’s so that the lightbulbs can get changed more easily,” he explains.
“I bet you bring all the girls here - to the place they change the lightbulbs,” you tease, tilting your head back to look at him.
“You liked it just a second ago,” he teases back.
Your face is right next to his.  Close.  Dangerously close.  His breath is warm against your skin.  There’s a smile on his lips, and his eyes twinkle with mischief.  You only need to lean in, and you’ll be kissing.
Kiss him
Pull away
Maybe it’s time to see what some other people are up to.

Clint - Nat - Maria/ Join Hill playing darts with Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff
“No, no,” you say quickly.  “I’m going to stick with you.”
She laughs and nudges you.  “Okay,” she says.  “Come on, chicken.”
You follow her over to the darts and both Clint and Natasha perk up when she approaches.  “So you’re the new best friend from the mayor’s office,” Natasha says, offering you her hand.  You take it and she shakes it, but keeps hold, lingering in a way that is noticeable but not uncomfortable.  “I hope you don't think you're taking my place.”
“I would never dare!” you say.  “If anything I'm using her to get to you, so I can be your new best friend.”
“Hey now, wait a second,” Clint says.  “Nat’s best friend is my job and only mine.”
You put your hands up in surrender.  “Oh, I am sorry.  I guess it’s just you and me, Hill.”
“As it should be,” she says, nudging you with her elbow.
“Okay, so what are we doing?  Playing darts?” you ask.
“Not exactly,” Natasha says.  “Clint was just showing off.  I was getting a little bored by it, if I’m going, to be honest.  I was just thinking about going to get a drink.”
“No, wait!  That’s not fair, I’ve finally got someone here who might be impressed by my tricks,” Clint argues. “Let’s stay for a little longer.”
Natasha folds her arms over her chest. “Fine.  Go on.  Try and impress her.”
Clint grins at you and grabs the darts from the dartboard.  You, Maria, and Natasha watch him as he does a series of tricks.  First, he throws all three darts at once and hits the bullseye with them simultaneously.  Then he throws one after the other so each stabs into the end of the one before it, and they end up stacked on top of each other.  Then he grabs extra darts and makes a smiley face on the board.  Finally, he has you throw a set of three and then he throws his three so they land sharing a hole with yours.
He shows off exactly why he has the callsign Hawkeye, and while he does the four of you flirt.  It’s nothing deep or serious, but it is constant.  There are jokes that contain a little innuendo.  Touches that linger a little too long.  Eye contact that seems to hold a little more to it than normal.
Eventually, Natasha huffs and shakes her head.  “Okay, I need to go get that drink,” she says.
“I think I might go out and get some air.  It’s so loud in here,” Hill says.
“Hey,” Clint says.  “You want to see something cool?”
Get a drink with Natasha
Get some air with Hill
See what cool thing Clint has to show you

IRONHAWK/ Just a celebration
You look at the two men.  You have been unsure about your ability to be with them, since the night of the party, and this incident has just put the nail in the coffin.  This is not the life you want.  You can’t be their girlfriend.
“I think just a celebration,” you say.  “I really like you both, but after this, I know that I can’t date anyone with your kind of lives.”
Both Tony and Clint look hurt.  You reach over to them and take their hands.  “That doesn’t mean you two can’t be together though.”
Tony raises his eyebrow.  “What do you say, Cupid?  We get out of here and see how we go?”
“Yeah,” Clint says.  “I’d like that.”
It was a few more hours before the Avengers showed up with the Australian military.  During that time, the three of you monitored the facility where Tony had trapped everyone.  It’s a really simple clean-up job, and when Steve was happy to let the local military take over, they fly you out there.  As you settle into the jumpseat, you look at Tony and Clint.  You’re glad they’ve decided to give each other a go, and you know after this, your story is going to start fresh again too.

IRONHAWK/ Let’s make it a date.
You think about the offer for a moment.  You know you're not the type of person to have a one-night stand with two near strangers, but maybe you are the type of person who could date two men at the same time.  They’re good men and this whole experience has shown how well you worked together.  It won’t be easy, the fame, navigating polyamory, dating superheroes.  After today, all those things seem trivial.  If you’ve survived this, you can survive the court of public opinion.
“Let’s call it a date,” you say.
“Yeah?” Clint asks, looking excited.
“Yeah,” you agree.  “We work well together.  Don’t you think?”
“Oh yeah,” he says.  “I think so too.”
“Then it’s a date,” Tony says.  “As soon as we get the all-clear from medical, I’m taking you both out.”
It was a few more hours before the Avengers showed up with the Australian military.  During that time the three of you monitored the facility where Tony had trapped everyone.  It’s a really simple clean-up job, and when Steve is happy to let the local military take over, they fly you out there.  As you settle into the jumpseat, you look at Tony and Clint.  They’re injured and exhausted, and you’re so excited to start a new chapter with them.  It was going to be an exciting adventure.

[START] [ABOUT AND WARNINGS] [FAQ]
Tumblr media
IRONHAWK/ Hack the computers
“If you can hack the computers, that would mean we could get a better layout of the area, right?  We can lock doors and keep people trapped in certain areas?” you ask.
Tony nods.  “If I can do it,” he says.  “Which it’s me; so of course, I can.  I can find my armor.  Clint.  We can get a jet and fly the hell out of here.”
“And we could lock them out of the comms and into the facility so we can just have everyone come in and clean up?” you say.  “I think that’s what we need to try.”
Tony nods.  “Okay, let’s do it.”
He cracks open the control panel and gets to work.  It takes him much longer than you like and he has to plug the panel into his now-cracked arc reactor.  It isn’t long before HYDRA agents start beating on the door. At one point they even try blasting it open.
“What are we going to do, Tony?” you ask.  “Even if you do manage to hack into the computers, they’re all out there.”
Tony nods.  “Shhh… it’s okay.  Just relax.  I’ll figure it out as soon as I’m in properly.”
You start searching the room for something you can use to defend yourselves with in case they manage to break into the room.  There’s a huge rumble outside and just as panic starts to set in, the lights, screens, and air all come on in the room.  The screens flick from showing the information that HYDRA had on Tony to various cameras around the facility.  Tony turns and looks and begins typing as quickly as his fingers can.  A map of the facility pops up and the cameras flick through rooms, as they do different areas on the map light up.  You see the control room, empty halls, and rooms, the hall outside filled with HYDRA, the garage, a hanger, the room where two guards are interrogating Clint, and a storage shed with Tony’s armor.
“Okay,” Tony says.  “First of all -” he types something into the controls and an alarm starts sounding with the orders for all available agents to go to the underground garage.  The agents in the hall don’t even think twice and begin to run.  The people in the control room didn’t move, other than to scramble around the room trying to turn the alarm off.
Tony watches the screens and when it seems clear the people in the control room are staying put, he locks the doors to the room and all the remaining lights shut off.  After that Tony unlocks the cuffs holding Clint to the chair.  It only takes the archer a moment to realize he’s free and he quickly kicks the guy in front of him between the legs before grabbing the other one and smacking his head into the arm of the chair.  While they’re disorientated he grabs one of their guns and points it at them.  You watch on as he has them turn back to back and handcuffs them together.  He then takes every weapon from them and looks around the room.
Tony unlocks the door to his cell and the one to the room you’re in, while at the same time he locks the garage so the rest of HYDRA are all trapped down there.  “Okay,” he says, pointing at the map.  “We’re here.  Clint is there.  I’ve sent an S.O.S. to the Avengers with our location.  It appears as if we’re in Australia.  Right in the middle of nowhere.  So I’ve also sent an S.O.S. out to the Australian armed forces and local police.  I’m hoping it worked, but even if it does it’ll be a while before they get here.  I think we should go pick up Clint, go up to their hangar and take control of the system from there.  It should have a good comms system and be connected to the rest of the base better than here.  I think this is an armory, so we can go get the suit and Clint’s stuff.  Maybe some more weapons.”
“Sounds good,” you agree.  “You sure we’ll be safe.”
“I think so,” he says.  “But it means I have to unplug for a little while.  There are still people loose throughout the facility, so you need to stay close and be prepared.  And because I won’t be plugged into the system there’s a chance they could get it back. I doubt it, but it’s not impossible.  So we have to be quick.”
You nod and Tony unplugs himself, and the two of you run.  You can see Tony is struggling and the light in his arc keeps wavering, but he never stops.  You meet Clint in the hall, but you don’t even stop to greet him properly.  Tony just points down the hall and keeps running.
Clint is struggling more than Tony seems to be, and the way he’s holding his arm, you wonder if it’s broken.  When they get to the armory Tony beelines for his suit. “Okay, baby,” Tony says, as he gets inside. “Papa’s here.  Be a good girl.”
The lights for the suit turn on and Tony sighs in relief.  “Oh thank god, I was worried I lost you for a moment there,” he says.  “FRIDAY, connect me through to the Avengers and the Australian military.”
As Tony speaks to them, you and Clint arm yourselves. “Are you okay?” you ask, as you watch him carefully put on some body armor.
“I think they broke my ribs and my arm,” he says. “But we’re getting out of here.  So I’ll be fine.”
You put on some body armor too and arm yourself with a couple of handguns and magazines of ammunition.  You and Clint both go over to Tony in his suit.  “What’s going on, Tones?” Clint asks.
“We’re so good,” Tony says.  “I’m in contact with Steve.  The Air Force is on their way out here, as is the army.  FRIDAY has complete control over the facility and she knows exactly where everyone is.  I say we get to the hangar and wait it out.”
“They brought us back to their nest and doomed themselves,” Clint said.  “Sucks for them.”
“Well, it is HYDRA, they aren’t exactly smart,” Tony says.  “Are you two ready to move on?”
“Yeah,” Clint says.  “Let’s go.”
Tony takes off in the suit, flying through the halls.  You and Clint take off after him.  You don’t even have to worry about HYDRA agents anymore because the few that you come across, Tony takes out easily.  When you reach the hanger, you all lock yourselves into the command tower and wait it out.  Apparently, you are very remote because you’re in there for hours.  But you’re safe.  There’s water and a medical kit, and you’re able to talk to the teams coming in to clear out HYDRA.
You spend the time just relaxing as best you can as Tony uses FRIDAY to monitor everything.  The three of you talk and get to know each other better.  It’s surprisingly nice considering how high-tension everything is.
“God, I’m getting so hungry,” Clint complains.  “How long do you think before we get anywhere there’s food?”
“Depends on if we go to Adelaide, Melbourne, or they take us straight home.  If they take us straight home, it’ll be a full day,” Tony says.
“I can’t wait that long,” Clint whines.  “You have to get them to stop.  We can get some shrimp on a barbie or whatever they have here.”
You start laughing silently.  “You dork, Clint.”
“Tell you what,” Tony says. “We’ll make them stop in either Adelaide or Melbourne.  Get checked out by the doctors.  Talk to whoever we need to talk to, and then I’ll take you both out for a nice dinner and drinks.  Lots of drinks.”
Tony shrugs.  “I’d like it to be a date, but I’ll settle for celebration.”
“Hard same,” Clint agrees.
Let’s make it a date.
Just a celebration

IRONHAWK/ I think after this, it’s friends only
You take another bite as you consider what it would be like to date these two men, both celebrities.  Both superheroes.  Both Avengers.  One of them, one of the richest men on the planet.  It won’t be easy.  This shit that you’ve just been dragged into is their life - all the time.  You will be a target just because of who you choose to share your heart with.  It won’t just be people like HYDRA that will target you either; the press, paparazzi, fans - they will all pick your life apart.
It’s not something you are up for.  After this incident, you realize just how much you want and need a quiet and peaceful life.  There is no way you could date one of them, let alone both.
“Just a celebration,” you say.  “No offense, but I don’t think this life is for me.  After this, if I dated either of you, I’d just be worried all the time.”
“I get it,” Clint says.  “I mean - I can’t pretend that it’s not disappointing, but I get it.”
“You know that you two could date, right?” you say.  “You don’t need me.”
Tony looks over at Clint and raises an eyebrow.  “What do you say, Cupid?  You wanna try it?”
“Yeah,” Clint says with a small nod. “Yeah, I really do.”
Tumblr media
After you all eat, you get as comfortable as you can on the floor while Clint and Tony share the bed.  You feel it’s better that way, they’re both injured and the bed was not big enough for you all to sleep comfortably.  It was risky to sleep at all, but the day had been exhausting and you all figure if HYDRA finds you here it’s better to find you rested.
You’re not sure how long you sleep, but you’re woken to the sound of banging on the door.  Tony grabs the gun from the bedside table.  “Get down,” he whispers to you both.  Clint grabs the other gun and the two of you crouch behind the bed, and Clint aims at the door, his view perfectly lined up to where it would open.
Tony slowly pulls the door open, peering around at whoever is standing on the other side.  As soon as he sees who it is, he relaxes and put’s the safety back on the gun.  “About time, Cap,” he says, pulling the door open.
“Good to see you too, Tony,” Steve says.  “Good job with the directions.  We knew Australia, but not where.”
“We’re just glad you got here before they did,” Tony says as you and Clint get up from the floor.
“We went out and cleared out the nest first,” Steve says.  “The Australian army is taking everyone into custody now.  We’ve got your things on the jet.  Are you ready to get home?”
“Fuck yes!” Clint sighs, as he approaches the door.
You head out to the waiting jet, relieved to get home and move on to the next chapter of your life.

IRONHAWK/ I’d love to go on a date
You take another bite as you consider what it would be like to date these two men, both celebrities.  Both superheroes.  Both Avengers.  One of them, one of the richest men on the planet.  It won’t be easy.  This shit that you’ve just been dragged into is their life - all the time.  You will be a target just because of who you choose to share your heart with.  It won’t just be people like HYDRA that will target you either; the press, paparazzi, fans - they will all pick your life apart.
This whole thing has shown you something about yourself.  You can handle whatever shit the world throws at you, and these two men are worth it.  You still aren’t the kind of person who would have a one-night stand with two men, but you can see yourself having an actual relationship with them.
“If we date, I’ll need to go slow,” you say.  “I can’t just jump into the physical stuff.”
“That’s okay,” Tony says.  “It’ll be like long-term edging.”
Clint laughs suddenly and grabs his side.  “Ow… don’t make me laugh right now.”
“So we’re really going to do this?” Tony asks.
“Let’s go and a date, and see how it goes,” you say.
Tumblr media
The three of you finish eating and you all squeeze into the bed.  Despite the risk that HYDRA can still find you here, exhaustion takes over and you fall asleep.
You’re not sure how long you sleep, but you wake curled up between both men, to the sound of banging on the door.  Tony grabs the gun from the bedside table.  “Get down,” he whispers to you both.  Clint grabs the other gun and the two of you crouch behind the bed, and Clint aims at the door, his view perfectly lined up to where it would open.

“Mmm - the sooner we get home, the sooner we can go out,” Tony agrees, putting his arm around you.  The three of you trudge out of the motel room, and toward the waiting jet.  Ready to start the next chapter together.

IRONHAWK/ Let’s find a car or a jet
“I think we need to get out of here,” you say.  “We’re all at risk.  Clint - you’re injured, and Tony - you have a crack in your arc.  Plus I feel like finding a garage or hanger will be easier than finding Tony’s suit or a control room.  Hangers are up, garages are down.”
Tony nods.  “I think you’re right.  Things are in disarray here and if we can just get away, head toward a town, we can call the Avengers for a pickup and storm the place.”
Clint shrugs. “Yeah.  We just have to hope they don’t come after us.”
Tumblr media
The three of you head back into the vents and make your way up, figuring that at the very least if you go up, you’ll find the way outside and maybe there will be a vehicle you use there.
As you move through the building, power goes on and off again as different sections try to deal with the issue of the major electromagnetic pulse that has caused havoc on the facility.
Finally, the three of you make it outside.  It’s scorchingly hot and even just kicking out the vent covering proves difficult due to how hot it is, and the fact none of you have any shoes.
People are running around everywhere, and the three of you very carefully, creep around the building to find a vehicle.
You find a Land Rover parked not too far from where you’d climbed out of the vent, and it only takes Clint a moment to unlock it using a strip of metal he broke off the grate.
Before anyone can argue, Tony is in the driver’s seat, hot-wiring the car.  You want to argue with him. He’s the most recognizable of the three of you, and you’re worried that if people spot him, you’ll immediately be pursued.
But you know he’s driven in races and he regularly pilots the Iron Man armor at high speeds.  Besides, you also don’t want to draw attention to yourself by arguing with him.  You jump into the back seat and you and Clint duck down as Tony hot-wires the car.  It only takes him a second before he’s pulling out and keeping his head low, trying not to attract any attention as he heads toward the gate.
“Pull up somewhere before we get to the gate,” Clint says.  “I’ll take out the guard and let you through.”
Tony nods in agreement and as you get close, he stops in a row of empty vehicles, and Clint jumps out and runs around to the guard booth.  You keep your head down, so you can’t see what’s happening, but a moment later, Tony starts driving the car forward.  You sneak a look and see Clint manually pulling the gate open, his muscles straining.
“Shit,” Tony says.  “The power must still be out.”
“Can he get it open?” you ask.
“It’s moving but there is no way it’s not going to attract attention,” Tony explains, and quickly looks around.
“Should I go out and help him?” you ask.
Tony shakes his head.  “You drive.  I’ll go help.  I have an idea.”
He jumps out of the car and runs to Clint and you get into the driver’s seat.  The two men slowly heave the gate open, but just as Tony had expected, the HYDRA agents start to notice you.  A small group run over yelling and someone fires a shot.  Clint returns fire as Tony continues to push the gate open.  Looking into the rearview mirror, you see people drop, but more are coming and you know Clint doesn’t have that much ammo.
Tony lets out a roar as he shoves the gate open just enough to get the car through.  He and Clint jump out of the way and you gun the car through, stopping on the other side to wait for the men.  You can hear more gunfire and you climb into the passenger seat, hoping they hurry.  As you’re scrambling over the center console, a flash of blue lights up the facility.  A moment later, Clint and Tony come running to the car.  Tony is pale, and his arc reactor is much dimmer than you’ve ever seen it.  Even still, he gets into the driver's seat and as soon as Clint’s in the back, he guns it.
“Buckle up kids,” Tony says.
You put on your seatbelt as told, but even still you’re thrown from side to side as Tony tears out of the facility, taking the corners as fast as he can without rolling the car.
The color is draining from Clint’s face too, and you start wondering if either man is going to be able to make it until there’s a rest stop.  Australia is large and depending on where you are and what direction you’re driving, it could be hours before you see anyone else.  Plenty of time for HYDRA to get a jet into the air to come after you.
After winding in and out of a dirt road that’s hidden in rock formations and scrubland, he pulls out onto a long tarred road that goes straight in either direction as far as the eyes can see.  “We’re in South Australia.  I think that means we want to go south.”
“Maybe I should drive, Tony,” you say as he pulls into the road and starts driving.
He shakes his head.  “If they do send jets after us, it’d be better if I’m driving.  I have experience with that kind of thing.”
“You look like you’re about to pass out,” you argue.
“I’ll be fine.  And I promise if I’m not I’ll let you drive,” he says.  “Hopefully we can find a gas station or something soon.  If we do that, I’ll see if I can convince the person running it to trade us cars and I’ll let you drive.  But while we’re in this car we’re a target.”
It’s hours before a gas station pops up.  In that time the landscape barely changes, and the road never seems to bend. You pass some trucks and cars coming the other direction, though if there are any cars in front of you, even at the crazy speed Tony is driving, you never reach them.
As you approach the station you see it’s more than just a gas station.  It’s a roadhouse, gift shop, bar, motel, and caravan park.  As Tony pulls off onto the slip lane it’s clear the place isn’t the most visited service center in the world, but there is one car filling up, and another couple parked out the front of the roadhouse.  Down a little driveway to the side of the service center is a row of gum trees with a couple of cars towing caravans parked along it.  Tony pulls his car between them, you assume to keep the car hidden from the road and above.  He straightens out the shirt of yours he’s wearing.  “Okay, keep your heads down.  I’ll go in and get us some clothes and send a message to FRIDAY to send the airforce and avengers out there.  I’ll book us a room too.”
“How will you pay?” you ask.
“Yeah, it’s not like you have your wallet with you,” Clint agrees.
“This time, the fact I’m recognizable is a benefit,” he says.  “I’ll call FRIDAY reverse charges.  Get my credit card number, and convince the clerk to let me just use the numbers because he can tell I’m me.  I’ll offer him a huge tip if he agrees.”
“Get me some painkillers,” Clint says from the back seat.  “Some bandages too.”
“Back as soon as I can,” he says and hurries back toward the service center.
You look back at Clint who’s lying on the back seat, looking very green.  “You okay?” you ask.
He shakes his head. “I am pretty sure I’ve broken a couple of ribs and my arm,” he says.  “All that climbing and now being rattled around in the car…” He shakes his head again.  “I hope they have something strong.”
“I hope they have a room with air conditioning.  I’m glad Tony left the car running or we’d cook in here.”
Clint nods. “The heat’s not helping.  Fuck… I’m so sorry I got you into all this.”
You shake your head.  “It’s not your fault.  It’s their fault.  You and Tony have done everything you can to get us out safe.”
“No wonder you didn’t want to spend the night with us,” he says.  “Being with us would get you killed.”
“This was a fluke, Clint,” you say.  “And no matter what happened at that party this would have happened to me because I was at the Tower for work.  I said no because I’m not a one-night stand person, and add to the fact there are two of you - it freaked me out.  But - I am a dating person.”
He sits up a little, wincing, but before he says anything, a jet flies by overhead, going too low.  You both duck, but peer out the window looking up.  “That’s them right?” you ask.
“Has to be.  It was going way too fast to see us in here,” he says.  They’re probably just hoping to see the car heading down the road.  We would have been sitting ducks out on the highway.”
“Fuck… we made it just in time,” you say.
“Don’t get too complacent.  If they have jets out, they’ll have other aircraft and cars too.  I’d expect they’ll come by with helicopters soon, taking a closer look.  We should still be hidden enough from them then, but after that will be cars - if they got any of them going.  Car’s will be a problem.  They’ll have to assume that if they didn’t spot us by air, we’re here or at a homestead on the way, and they’ll stop to check them.  Worse would be if they get lots of choppers in the air and they stop at every place on the way.”
“You’d think they wouldn’t waste resources like that,” you say.
“I don’t want to make assumptions about what they’d do, but we are safer hidden here than out on the road.  But we really were sitting ducks,” Clint says.  “I could take down a jet with an arrow on a good day.  But I don’t have an arrow and I have a busted arm.  Maybe I could do it with a gun.  I’m glad I didn’t have to test that theory.”
Tumblr media
It takes Tony a little while before he returns, and in that time another jet had buzzed overhead, slower than the last.  He arrives laden down with bags and wearing a new outfit of shorts, flip flops, and a tank top with a pair of reflective sunglasses.  He tosses a bag into the back that contains an outfit matching his and a light, floral dress that is definitely not your style.  You pull it on, glad to be in clean clothes and the three of you head to the motel, moving quickly but trying not to go so fast that you draw attention to yourselves.
It’s scorching outside and as soon as you step into the motel room, it’s immediate relief.  It’s not exactly luxury living.  The floor is white tiles and shockingly peach walls.  The only furniture in the room is two white laminate side tables, a white laminate wardrobe and shelf that contains a mini fridge, and a queen-sized bed that has an exposed base and cheap-looking sheets.
None of you care about any of that, you’re just happy to no longer be exposed.  Clint immediately lies down on the bed.  “Painkillers,” he whines.
Tony drops all the begs on the shelf above the mini-fridge.  I got a bunch of drinks.  And food.  I’m starving, I don’t know about all of you.  Those jets didn’t spot you, did they?”  He speaks fast, practically babbling as he digs through the bags.  “I didn’t have any problem with them taking my credit card numbers, and I told FRIDAY to get Steve to bring one of the expense cards just in case.”
He pulls out a beer and some ibuprofen. “Sorry, Hawk,” he says, handing them over.  “They didn’t have anything stronger than this.”
“Better than nothing,” he says.
As Clint takes some pills, Tony brings the food over and lays it out, there are ice creams, potato chips, cans of beer, premixed bourbon and coke, soda, bottles of juice, and thin, styrofoam containers that contain burgers and thick cut fries.”
“Oh, thank god,” you say as you sit on the bed.  You pick up a burger and take a large bite.
Clint winces as he drags a burger closer to him.  “I was so stressed out I didn’t realize how hungry I was.”
“I swear, when we get back, I’m taking you both out for the most extravagant meal ever,” Tony says. “It’s going to be like 23 courses.”
Clint laughs and winces again. “I’d be happy with a slice from Joe’s and some garlic knots.  Especially if you’re buying, Tones.”
“I’d be happy to, Cupid,” Tony replies.
“How about you?” Tony asks, turning to you.  “Will you let us take you out?”
“That depends?  Are we just celebrating getting out of this alive, or is it a date?” you ask.
Tony shrugs.  “I’d like it to be a date, but I’ll settle for celebration.”
“Hard same,” Clint agrees.
I’d love to go on a date
I think after this, it’s friends only

IRONHAWK/ Let’s get to the control room
“I think we should go to the control room.  It might be slightly more dangerous, but the rewards will be a lot bigger,” you say.  “Besides, Tony, if you can’t power the suit we might be in more trouble if we get trapped there.”
Tony and Clint look at each other like they’re deciding on something through some unspoken conversation.  “Yeah, okay,” Clint says. “Let’s do it.”
Tony kicks one of the guys on the ground.  “Which way to the control room?”
“It’s up two floors, and that way,” he says, pointing.
Tony and Clint seem to believe the guy is telling the truth.  They follow his instructions, peering into rooms every now and again to make sure they’re not missing anything.
The climb up in the vents is difficult, especially with Clint’s broken ribs and injured shoulder.  By the time you’re two floors up, he’s sweating and looking very pale.  By the time you reach the control room, the lights are starting to come on in the building.
Tony looks out into the room.  “There’s five, so we’re outnumbered but only just.  Cupid, you think you can shoot?”
Clint nods. “Always.  Gonna have to do worse than this for me to miss a target.”
“Alright, I’ll take the lead, you have my back,” Tony looks back at you. “As soon as you can get a weapon, do it, but don’t get yourself shot.”
You nod and Tony turns and takes a deep breath, cocking his gun.  He sneaks out of the vent moving well away from it, clearly hoping he’d draw the whole room's attention.  When he’s far enough away he gets up and fires at one of the agents.  It hits him right in the middle of his body mass and he goes down.  As the other four people turn, drawing their weapons, Tony shoots again, hitting a woman in the shoulder.  Clint draws and shoots, taking out everyone that’s standing before they can even react to him being there.
You run over to one of the women, planning on taking the gun from her hand, but she’s still completely conscious and she wheels her arm toward you and fires wildly, hitting you in the side.  You cry out and stumble back as Clint quickly shoots the woman once more.  “Shit,” he curses, running over to you.
You hold your side as Clint kneels beside you.  “Let me see,” he says.
You take your hand away.  There’s a lot of blood.  It makes you woozy looking at it as Clint quickly pokes you and looks you over.  “Okay, hold it again.  I’ll get something to stop the flow.”
He gets up and Tony pulls your shirt back off and throws it at Clint as he goes to the control panel and starts working at hacking into the system to send out a message to the Avengers and to keep the rooms locked down.
Clint runs back to you and wraps the shirt around your waist.  “The bullet went right through, and I think it missed everything, but we have to staunch that blood flow.  Hold it still and I’ll see if they have a first-aid kid in her somewhere. If they don’t I’ll make something.”
You nod in understanding, and he rushes off and starts looking through everything.  The room starts to spin and you think you’re starting to sway.  Clint comes back with a first aid kid.  “Okay… stay with me.  I’m gonna stitch you up. It’s gonna hurt like a bitch.”
You swallow thickly and nod.  He barely even wipes the wound clean when you black out.
Tumblr media
The world comes back to you slowly, first the smell of disinfectant, and the clean cold scent of oxygen coming through a nasal cannula.  The coolness of the room is what you notice next, and without even opening your eyes, you pull the scratchy blanket up over yourself.  It catches on your IV and you whine and open your eyes.
The room is very white and way too bright, and it takes a moment for your eyes to open.
“Hey, she’s awake.”
You turn your head to see Clint in the bed beside you.  He’s heavily bandaged but sitting up and looking happy.  Between the two of you is Tony Stark, dressed in sweats and a t-shirt, the glow of his arc reactor seeping through the fabric.
“Where are we?” you ask.
“Hospital. The Royal Alfred in Melbourne to be exact.  We’ll head home when you’re cleared,” Tony explains.  “And don’t worry.  I’m covering the costs.”
“How long was I out?” you ask.
Tony looks at his watch.  “About a day.  You lost a lot of blood.  But the wound was clean through and didn’t hit anything vital.  They had to give you a transfusion, and you’ll be in here for a week,” Tony explains.  “The Avengers arrived about four hours after you passed out.  They must have been in the process of tracking us down to get there that quickly.  Probably used FRIDAY.  They brought us back here.”
“I’ve got broken ribs and a broken arm,” Clint explains.  “Using the bow didn’t help.  You lost a lot of blood, so they gave you a transfusion.  You were in surgery too, but the bullet wound was clean, so they just stitched it up.  They’re going to need to keep you in for observation for a bit.”
“What about you, Tony?” you ask.
“I was pretty fine,” he says.  “The arc was damaged, but I switched it out.  They have run some tests on my heart and took some blood.  But I feel okay.”
“You know you’re gonna have to move the Avengers out of the city, right?” you ask.
Tony nods.  “Don’t worry,” he says. “I’ve already got a team looking for land in the country away from any towns.  We wanted to be a beacon - not a target.”
He shifts in his chair so he’s facing you more.  “So,” he says, leaning forward a little. “I promised you I’d take you out after all this.  At the party, you seemed pretty into both of us before you had a freakout.  How about we do this properly?  No one-night stands, Clint and I take you out for dinner?”
You look over at Clint.  “You want that too?”
He nods eagerly.  “I don’t care about what people say about us.  I think we work well together.”
“It’ll be messy,” you say.  “My boss won’t like it.  And the press will have a field day.”
“We can figure it out,” Tony says.  “Let your boss know so there’s no conflict of interest.  He might think there is one now after we saved you anyway.  Then we’ll keep it quiet until we know either way.”
“I didn’t think you actually dated, Tony,” you say.
“I don’t - not normally.  But you can’t say we didn’t hit it off and now - after what we just went through…” He shakes his head and runs his hand through his hair.  “I don’t want to keep looking for excuses not to be happy.”
You take a deep breath and look at the two men.
It’s still a no.  Dating two men isn’t for me.
Alright let’s do it.

IRONHAWK/ Alright let’s do it.
You smile as your stomach flips over.  This is scary and exciting, but you want it.  There’s something there between you. You work well together.  They’re fun, and you know they'll do anything to protect you.  You nod. “Yeah.  I mean - I want to talk about all of the potential issues, but yeah - I’d like that.  I think you’re right.  There could be something here.  But we’ll have to go slow.  I need slow.”
Tony pulls a face.  “Slow?”
“Yes, Tony,” you say.  “I need it.”
“Alright,” Tony says.  “Slow it is.  Is it weird that I’m excited?”
“No way,” Clint agrees.  “I’m excited too.”
It is exciting.  A whole new life is about to open up for the three of you and who knows where your choices will take you next?

“I’m sorry,” you say, shaking your head.  “I really do enjoy spending time with you both, and the party was exciting.  But I know me - I’m not a polyamorous person, and for me - what just happened is a sign that dating any Avengers is too dangerous.  At least for me.  I know that’s a shitty thing to tell someone, but I can’t go through that again.  But - I think you two have a great thing with each other.  You should properly explore that.  You have more history together than with me.  You don’t need me for you two to be happy.”
Both men frown for a moment and then Tony straightens up and puts his hand on Clint’s leg.  “What do you say, Cupid?  Want to go out with me sometime?”
Clint smiles and lifts Tony’s hand to his lips. “It’s about fuckin’ time.”
You relax back into bed.  It had been a lot, and maybe this isn’t your happily ever after, but maybe it’s the start of theirs.  You can be happy for now knowing that they’re taking the leap.  Who knows what your next choice will bring you?

[START] [ABOUT AND WARNINGS] [FAQ]
Tumblr media
IRONHAWK/ Let’s find Tony’s suit
“I think we should get Tony’s suit.  Even if you can’t pilot it, you can use it to contact the others, and it’ll provide you with some protection, right?” you say.
Tony nods.  “Yeah - I agree.  I don’t like fighting our way out of here with nothing.”
“Alright,” Clint says.  “Back in the vents.”
The three of you scramble back inside the confined space and continue your journey through the building.  You don’t know how long you’re in there, but a hum returns to the building and some of the rooms you pass have low lights on.  “They must be getting the backups online,” Tony says.  “We don’t have a lot of time.”
“Fuck,” you hiss.  “I made the wrong choice. We should have just tried to get out of here.”
“Hey,” Clint whispers, putting his hand on your calf as he crawls up behind you.  “It’s alright.  We’ll get out of here no matter what.  We can always alter plans if we have to.”
You nod and take a deep breath and keep crawling after Tony.  More lights come online and you start hearing a lot more commotion coming from rooms as you pass them.  Your heart is beating so hard, it feels like it’s trying to escape your chest.
Just when you start to think it’s hopeless, and there is no possible way that you’re going to escape HYDRA, Tony stops dead in front of you. “This is it.  Looks like your equipment is in there too, Cupid.”
He kicks the grate out and the three of you get out into some kind of weapons storage room.  Tony’s armor is in parts on a bench, and Clint’s bow and quiver are dumped on a box.  Clint runs over to the box and pulls the bow out.  “It’s okay.  Papa’s here.”
As Tony begins to put his suit on, you and Clint go to work barricading the door.
“FRIDAY, I missed you,” Tony says when he has his helmet on.  “I need you to pinpoint where we are, and then get the team to come find us.”
If FRIDAY responded, you didn’t hear it.  The sounds of people’s footfalls outside the door were what you focus on.  Someone tries to push the door open, but thankfully the barricade holds.
“Someone’s blocking the door.  It might be them,” someone outside yells.
“Get ready,” Clint says, pulling out an arrow from his quiver.
You check the ammunition on your handgun and hold it, not aiming yet, but ready to go, if they breach the doorway.
There’s more yelling and people start battering the door.  It creaks open for a second, and Clint looses an arrow right through the momentary gap.
“God, you really are impressive, Barton,” you say.
“I try,” he teases.
It’s now clear to HYDRA that the three of you are holed up in the room and the effort to get in heightens.  You, Clint, and Tony fight to keep them out.  Firing at them and pushing the table back every time they try and push the door open.
There’s a loud hum outside and Clint looks back at Tony.  “I don’t like the sound of that.”
“Both of you, get behind me,” Tony barks.
You hurry behind Tony, and just in time, a moment later the whole wall blasts in.  Even behind Tony’s armor, some of the debris hits you, knocking you to the floor.  The whole room spins and slowly things turn black.

The world comes back to you gradually.  First the smell of disinfectant, and the clean cold scent of oxygen coming through a nasal cannula.  The coolness of the room is what you notice next, and without even opening your eyes, you pull the scratchy blanket up over yourself.  It catches on your IV and you whine and open your eyes.

Tony looks at his watch.  “About fourteen hours.  You got a nasty bang on the head.  But thankfully the team came in and got us out almost immediately after the door was breached.  “They brought us back here.”
“I’ve got broken ribs and a broken arm,” Clint explains.  “Using the bow didn’t help.  You just got a concussion.  They’re going to need to keep you in for observation for a bit.”
