and Icarus said to Aphrodite- so this is what I'm for. you have a distant awareness that the day you fall is the day you change. change is so very difficult, isn't it? watching everyone leave? you want the light so desperately, but you fear it. one day it will come for you. one day you will stop mourning the future and start mourning the present, and it will be peaceful.

you want badly to be kind, to be loved, to be precious, missed when you're gone. you are terrified of being the thing you fear. you want people to come looking for you. you aren't and never have been one dimensional, even when everyone else insists it would be easier if you were.

Aaah yes, thank ya for the tag!
When it comes to Greek mythology she's my favorite by far! Especially, the fact of her duality, implying that nothing in life is purely black or white. I suppose it's also the reason many (including myself) gravitate more towards the villainous and more "dark themed" characters, as often they show both sides sides of the same coin, even more so than heroes do. :)
Either way... That dress, is just so elegant and pretty, I'm in love! 💗
Halloween Series: Goddesses of Death & Magic 💀✨
Melinoe (Μηλινοη meaning ‘Dark-Minded’) was the goddess of ghosts, nightmares and funerary rites in Greek mythology. At night she wandered the earth with her train of ghosts, striking fear into the hearts of men. Her limbs were black on one side and white on the other, a manifestation of her dual chthonic and heavenly nature. Her presence was also believed to be the reason why dogs would bark at seemingly-nothing at night.

What does your blog title mean? My uneducated guess is “sea rise melon no” …
Hahah, nah, actually "Cerise" has been a pseudonym I've been using online for a long time now. As to why I chose it...
It is a name of a vivid and light shade of red - such that is of cherries - one of my favourite fruits everrr.. So ya weren't that far from the truth with the fruit theme :D Even so I would never say no to a melon! ;)
Now to the "Melinōe" part... Being the absolute mythology geek that I am, a lover of classic literature (mystic and dark), I picked the name of Melinōe - the daughter of Hades and Persephone, the Goddess of spirits (as well as duality between life and death, light and darkness)
The paradigm wherein the opposites or dualities are not enemies has always fascinated me, sooo there it is... To add the colour red on top of that would associate with blood ( a symbol of both life and death). And since my ambition is to study medicine - more specifically surgery - I believe it makes much sense with who I am as a person. :)))
